You guys should know me well enough that I had another idea. Shocker. This one is the same in a train of thought that I've had for a little while. What is it? Well, if you couldn't already tell this is a Harry Potter/Rosario x Vampire crossover pilot. Now for those of you who haven't delved into the site as of late, there are only 15 of these stories at the time of writing this introduction, and the last one to be updated was well back in 2015, and as you can tell it is 2018 (now 2019 as I go back through this opening paragraph) so there's little hope that either of these will be updated any time soon, regrettably as some were pretty interesting. Hence the reason I'm writing this for my repository, no responsibility to update it! Wow, that was shallow now that I look at it. Regardless!
So, what is my idea? What if Harry, post-Deathly Hallows finished his education and got his degree and decided to wander the world for a while, since he's never seen the outside of London and England (Scotland too), and decides to become a mercenary wizard for hire? Someone who goes around fixing problems with the skills he's gained over the years of his schooling as well as what he's learned on his own by wandering the world. Then what if he was contacted by the headmaster of a Yokai school and requested that Harry come and become an English teacher at said school, and does? That's the whole concept of this story pilot. How would Tsukune interact with Harry, someone who does see himself as a human as well with powerful magical gifts and skill? All of that and more, well it more of a taste really, in this pilot!

Four years post-Battle of Hogwarts (Deathly Hallows). Tokyo, Japan. Summer of 2002.
Twenty-one-year-old Harry Potter wandered through the streets of Tokyo on a mission. Well, less of a mission, more of a contract. The contract holder had stated that he needed to show up at a particular bus stop in Tokyo that had a particular history of urban legends. The bus route that started past this point went through a particular tunnel, and if you watched closely enough, you could see a dilapidated land filled with monsters. Of course, as Harry knew, there was always a bit of truth in old, or even newer urban, folk tales.
He waited by the bus stop and checked his pocket watch, a gift from Neville for his birthday last year. To the normal observer, it was your average pocket watch. But if you were to look at it, it would display the time based upon the location you were in. The model itself wasn't anything special, it was a watch that many internationally travelling wizards used. But internally was an etching with a personal message from his friend that was written in old Latin. The time displayed that it was 7am local time, and according to the time that he was given for the bus, it was running a bit late.
When he looked up, he saw the bus in question. It wasn't a city bus, but your standard city bus. The doors opened to reveal the driver who had a cap covering his eyes. "Mister Potter?" the driver asked in plain English and with no discernable accent.
"I am him," Harry replied stepping onto the bus. He took a seat and the bus started to move.
"So, you're the new English teacher?" the driver asked, his cap hidden eye looking at him in the rear-view mirror.
"I haven't agreed to anything yet. As with all contract offers, I hear the client out before rejecting or accepting their offer."
The tunnel seemed to go on longer than it should have. "And has the Principal told you who attends this school?"
"I was told it was for 'extraordinary individuals'. Was he wrong?" Harry asked in turn.
The driver chuckled. "Well, he isn't wrong," he trailed ominously. "I suppose a better question isn't who attends this school, but what." Once more he played the pronoun game in an attempt to keep it mysterious.
"Anyone I should be concerned about?"
"Well, I'd say trust no one, not even me. But it shouldn't be anything that you can't take care of, considering what the rumor mill says about you. But there is one thing that you can trust me to do, and that's to drive you to the school on time." He timed that perfectly as the tunnel ended and the horizon opened up to show a completely different landscape than what he expected to see in a suburb of Japan. Except for one small thing: it looked like the school had been merged with a classic haunted house. He pulled up to the immense school building dominating the center of the property. It looked like many normal Japanese high school building complexes. He stepped off the bus and turned around to see the bus driver just sitting there. "I'll still be here when you return, pending your decision." He then closed the doors and pulled around the school.
Harry started walks towards the school building and followed the signs for the headmaster or principal's office. For some prep work he did for himself, he learned some simple phrases that he would commonly see, mainly on signs. Translation charms could take care of written speech for things that were contextual when said versus literal. He made his way up into the principal's office. There wasn't anything special about the door that leads into the office; it looked like a traditional sliding door that was common in Japan as opposed to a hinged door.
He raised a knuckle to knock on the door, but before he could, a voice called out from inside. "Mr. Potter, please do come inside," a male voice said. Harry slid open the door to see a man that wouldn't look out of place running a Catholic Parish. He, in short, looked like a priest. But something was off. The mere presence of him set off all the alarm bells to run away. "Please, take a seat."
"You must be Tenmei Mikogami, my illusive contractee," Harry asked as he approached the aforementioned seats in front of the desk. "You're a ghost," Harry stated as he sat down. "Everyone I've spoken to doesn't know anything about you despite running a secret school, and I know a thing or two about secret schools."
"I know, I intended it that way. My line of work requires the utmost secrecy," Tenmei replied. "Do you know what kind of school this is?"
"You stated in the initial point of contact for the contract that it was a school for extraordinary students. I believe you are leaving a few things out. If you sought me out, then you know I don't like being in the dark when being hired."
"As you wish." Tenmei folded his hands on his desk in front of him. Harry had seen very few anime, but it was reminiscently the same pose used by Gendo in that Evangelion anime. "The school that you currently inside of trains yokai, monsters, how to blend in with the outside world."
This was quite a shock for the wizard but didn't let it show. He needed more information. "So, you train wolves in sheep's clothing how to blend in? To hunt humans better?"
"I can see your… apprehension."
"That's an understatement," Harry rebutted. "So why did you invite me here, then? To become some kind of enforcer?"
There was a large amount of tension in the room. The legendary Man-Who-Conquered against another man who reeked of hidden dark magic in a battle of wills. Finally, Tenmei relented. "The reason this school was created was to ensure yokai survival. The world is evolving and at a rapid pace. The old systems of magic and brute force are being eaten away by technology that seems to continually improve itself every generation. Sixty years ago, this nation was hit by the most devastating weapon to ever be conceived, the atom bomb. The Atomic Age, fueled by the arms and space races of the United States and the Soviet Union, advanced humanity further than it has come in the last hundred years alone. From the world you come from, surely you realize this advancement puts 'unique individuals' such as ourselves at a disadvantage, those of us that have kept ourselves in secrecy for millennia. What it would mean if we were found out?"
Harry did know what it would mean: discovery. And discovery would lead to a new form of witch hunts that had never been seen before. Men and women who could conjure up fiendfyre and decimate entire cities? Arms developers and world governments, as well as terror organizations, would kill for that kind of destructive power. Men and women who could mind control and torture another without leaving a mark? Intelligence agencies would love to get their hands on that if they hadn't already through wizards and witches that actively worked for them. Wizards and witches, with all their mysterious powers and abilities to bend reality whether through spells or potions, would be wanted whether they wanted to or not. But yokai? They were monsters made manifest. There would be only one thing that humanity would opt for: extermination.
"You wish for them to blend into society so that they may live," Harry concluded.
"Yes, however, there are some that do not see it my way. I see my school as a way to survival in these times. There are others who have… different thoughts about how to achieve survival." Tenmei intentionally left that one up in the air. Harry was able to put two and two together. They wished to pull a Voldemort movement.
"And that's why you invited me here, to stop this movement?"
"No, to show these yokai that living among humans is possible, and maybe even more than that," he lost himself in some sort of train of thought. "After all, it wouldn't have been the first time." He shook that thought aside. "But in order to do that, I need someone capable of stopping outbursts by my students. A capable wizard such as yourself should have no problem with the mythical, considering your track record." Harry didn't respond to that, after all, he knew what he'd done. Defeating a dark lord several times as well as his followers, killing a basilisk, holding off hundreds of Dementors with a single Patronus, and overcoming overwhelming odds and beating (see: surviving) the Triwizard Tournament. "And it just so happens that I need an English instructor. After all, I heard that it is one of the major trade languages in the wider world."
This proposition sealed it. There was the deal in front of him. Become an English teacher at this monster school, look out for the 'other side,' and keep the current students in line. "I accept," Harry replied.
"I'm glad that we came to an agreeable arrangement," Tenmei replied.

Months later. First day of school.
Harry was prepared. He had a class itinerary and syllabus as well as the list of students that he would be interacting with on a daily basis. He had to do a lot of research as well as the traditional type of field research. He found each of the students he would have homeroom with as well as in the field and followed them in the shadows, learning their true nature. He learned where their lairs were and how they were hidden. He made contact with his contacts in other nations to learn the mythology of the wolves in sheep's clothing. He learned their strengths and weaknesses. In preparation, he had contacted Neville to cultivate some specific herbs and plants that were harmful when either presented or distilled into a solution and thrown on a monster; those had arrived the previous day in Tokyo at a local DHL office.
He sat in the back of the classroom under his invisibility cloak, Death's invisibility cloak, and observed his class. He could already tell what he would have to deal with. The entire class came from the upper echelons of society. Their demeanor and their 'holier than thou' attitudes outright sold them out.
"Where's the teacher?" one boy grumbled out loud.
"Yeah, what is he, chicken?" one girl asked.
"He obviously knew I was an alpha monster," another bragged.
"You, alpha?" another boy in the class scoffed.
"Perhaps you should pay attention to your surroundings," Harry said as he removed his cloak and stuffed it into his pocket.
"You're our teacher?' the 'alpha' boy asked.
"Yes, and you will address me as Mr. Potter or Potter-sensei," Harry replied as he walked to the front of the room. "I am your homeroom instructor as well as the English instructor here and I, like your other instructors, expect that you will follow the rules this institution has placed in order to ensure your success in the outside world." He pulled the projector screen release and revealed the rules that he had written in Japanese beforehand. "Rule 1: Remain in human form at all time in public. Rule 2: Do not reveal your true form to any student at any time. So long as you obey these two primary rules, you will be successful in the outside world. If you break these rules, your punishment will meet the severity of the offense."
"Why should we hide our true nature? If I come across a human, I'll kill and eat them," one boy bragged.
"Really now?" Harry said with morbid curiosity as he walked towards the student. "And how would you do it, hmm?"
"There isn't much thought to it, humans are weak. I'll kill them where they stand!" the boy laughed.
"Do you know why humans have become the dominant species and not monsters? Have you really thought about it for more than one moment?" Harry closed the distance. "Human developed tools, weapons, to help them hunt both for food and for defense. And as monsters and the creatures of darkness hunted them down, they learned from their fallen comrades on how to defeat the ones that hunted them. They developed systems of defense to protect their homes from the spiritual, natural, and mechanical worlds so they could sleep at night." He stopped when he was right in front of the boy's face. "The legends of wolfsbane and garlic? Those came from somewhere. But now? Humans have a way of tracking people and striking from afar. Phones and surveillance equipment on everything from cameras on street corners to the humble phone camera serve as the eyes of the government. If you think that the governments of the world don't know about you, you're wrong. And if you think they don't have ways of tracking monster attacks and tracking the ones that do them and then proceed to send hunter-killer teams specializing in monster elimination, you're delusional." Harry then conjured a silver edged knife and held it to the monster boy's throat. "And if you think there aren't monsters that wouldn't be willing to kill their own to keep themselves from being hunted and killed down just because one of their own acting out. Well, you'll just have to find out, won't you?" He let the magic that he had been keeping well-hidden flow into his eyes, allowing the killing curse green eyes to glow with promised malice.
The tension in the room was so thick, it could be carved with a knife. The boy wanted to lash out, but he knew what he was and what was held to his throat. While overwhelming force with traditional weaponry would hurt him, they would be less effective. But this was silver. A wound from that would cause him to bleed out well before his enhanced healing abilities would kick in. The only thing that he could do was nod slightly.
The bell rung and Harry dispelled the knife showing no weapon at all. He leaned in and whispered just loud enough for the class to hear. "There are things in this world that are bigger than your petty superiority complex. And things that are truly evil? Such things will be destroyed." He stood up and walked back to the front of the class. "As today is the first day of class, there will be no written assignment. In your syllabus, you will find a list of books. The first we will read is Beowulf, a classic English poem. Read through the first two chapters and come ready to discuss the story and themes presented in that chapter." He paused for a moment. "In English." The students groaned in annoyance. All in all? Not a bad day.
To be continued…?

Well, that's what I have for now. This was one of those stories that were on the backburner for forever that I finally got around to complete. As you can see, he did not take over Tskune's class, rather he has his own. But this doesn't mean that they won't interact, they will and it is something that I plan on exploring in the future if this continues. Before anyone asks about potential shipping, the answer is none of the students. If anyone, it may be Ruby as she's a witch and is, of course, older. I don't really have any other plans for this one at the moment, but wanted to get this idea out there.
Let me know what you think in the known places. If you excuse me, I gotta prepare for Endgame and Metokur is streaming live right now, so there's that. See you next time in whatever I do next!
