As soon as he saw his house, he took note of the fact that his mother was at the door. She saw him, and ran over to him as she hugged him tightly "Oh Ash. I heard what happened from your friend Gary and… I'm just glad you're alright" she said and Ash sighed deeply, seems that Gary had told his mother about their 'little encounter'
"I'm fine mom, nothing to worry about" he said and saw his mother look at him with disbelief, but smiled nonetheless as the two entered the house "I'm going to go up to my room" he said as he walked up the stairs and closed the door to his room. Ash took of his shoes, threw his backpack (that had survived the whole ordeal) and walked over towards his bed and he laid down thinking over what had happened and how he had done the things he did
He brought his hands up and turned them around as he examined them for any evidence of what happened in that alleyway "How did I do all that?" he asked himself, dropping his hands down again and sighed. He got out of his bed and walked over to the window in his room as he opened it and stared at the sunset outside
Ash kept staring at it until he heard his mother calling him for dinner. He sighed and decided to stop thinking about these things as he went back downstairs, but the entire time his thoughts kept coming back to the alleyway and what he had done
The next day, Ash got up from his bed and stretched his arms. He looked over at the clock and saw he had plenty of time before school started. Ash then remembered everything that happened yesterday and sighed again while he made his way over towards the bathroom.
As soon as he saw his reflection, he noticed something that made him fall on the ground. Ash slowly got back up and saw that his eyes were no longer their auburn colour. Instead what he saw made him back up a step or two, as he saw that his eyes were now a light blue and seemed to have a glow in them at the same time. He slowly brought one of his hands towards the mirror to make sure it was him and recoiled back when he saw that it was him. Ash then started shaking his head and turned on the sink as he threw water onto his face. When he looked at the mirror again, he saw that his eyes were back to their brown colour again, much to his confusion and shock
Still shocked by what had just happened, he slowly went back into his room and got dressed in his regular clothes. He put on gray capri shorts, with dark blue sneakers, then grabbed his black T-shirt and soon put on his light-blue and white jacket with a large red collar over his shirt. He zipped it up and grabbed his bag as he made his way down into the kitchen
He saw his mother already downstairs and once she saw him, she set a plate with pancakes on the table. Ash walked over towards the table and ate the pancakes in front of him. He still kept thinking about what happened yesterday as well as what caused the change in eye colour too. He was so caught up in his thoughts he couldn't hear his mom shouting his name. He did however feel her emotions, which caused him to snap out of his thoughts and looked scared for a second. He left the house soon after afraid that he might do something like yesterday and as he left he could feel his mom's confusion at his actions
As soon as he got to school, he tried to calm himself down. He didn't want a repeat of yesterday to happen here at school… especially with lots of people who knew him. He slowly entered Viridian High and made his way towards his locker. While he was putting his stuff out of his locker he heard his name being called
"ASH!" a girl's voice screamed as she slammed into Ash and hugged him tightly, scared that if she let go he would disappear
"Dawn, I think you're going to have to let him go. He can hardly breathe it seems" said the brown haired boy as Dawn blushed in embarrassment and let go of the raven haired teen
"Sorry about that Ash, but after yesterday I was scared that something had happened to you" she said and then pointed at the brown haired teen "Gary won't admit it, but he was also worried" she said in a whisper as Ash laughed lightly
"Laugh it up Ashy-boy" Gary said annoyed at his childhood best friend and then sighed "What happened yesterday anyway?" he asked and saw as Ash seemed to get tense for awhile and then sighed "I don't really wanna talk about it" said the teen as he looked down towards the ground
Gary and Dawn exchanged a look at each other and sighed as they decided to leave it alone for the moment… however they couldn't help but feel as if the temperature changed… "Let's head to English class. You know how much Ms. Bertha hates it when we're all late" Gary said, changing the subject as Ash looked back up at them and nodded
The rest of the day went off with no unexpected things going on… that is until lunch time
"Man I can't believe we have to write a 3 page essay on 'the importance of health' just because Trip and Paul refused to answer Mr. Brock's questions and hand in the homework" said Gary with an angry expression on his face as he looked at the papers in his hands
Leaf and Ash both also shared the same feelings, but decided not to show it. Dawn, sighed as Gary kept on rambling about how unfair this all seemed, while Ash on the other hand was once again experiencing sensing emotions of other people. He could actually sense Gary's anger, Leaf's annoyance and Dawn's impatience with Gary
"Gary, maybe you should just accept it. No matter how much you keep on rambling about how this isn't fair, nothing will change anything and besides Leaf is getting annoyed by all this, Dawn is at the point of literally hitting you with her books at her impatience with you and I am somewhere in between the two, so let's just go and eat our lunch already" Ash said in a emotionless voice and walked ahead of the trio
'How did he know I was annoyed…?' Leaf thought to herself as she and Gary followed after their friend, while Dawn looked shocked that Ash seemed to know exactly how she was feeling
"So it seems you, Dawn and Ash got in trouble yesterday, Oak tree" Leaf commented, with Gary sweat dropping "Seeing as you three are still in one piece, nothing bad happened"
Both Dawn and Gary looked at each other than at Ash. Raising an eyebrow at this exchange, Leaf turned towards the raven haired teen "Ash... did something happen yesterday?"
Ash said nothing, so Leaf decided to drop for the time being. She could take a hint and see that the teen didn't want to talk about it
Seeing Lillie up ahead, Dawn went to sit with her friend as the trio started to go on outside for lunch today... only to see Trip and Drew blocking their path
"Seriously! Again?!" Gary said in both annoyance and anger
"Can't you just leave us alone?" Leaf said as she knew it was no use, but still it didn't hurt to try
"Sorry not sorry forest green, but that isn't how we roll" Trip said with an evil smirk on his face
"We can't let our favourite punching bags escape like yesterday now can we?" Drew said smugly, while Ash rolled his eyes and noticed the lack of a purple haired teen among the group. Suddenly he could feel someone coming from behind the trio and knew right away it had to be Paul who wanted to sneak up on him
Ash moved to the side and out of the way as Paul came crashing into his friends. Leaf and Gary looked surprised until they had started laughing out loud and not at all questioning at all how Ash had known Paul was coming from behind in the first place
"You gotta do better than that" Ash couldn't help but say as all three of them glared at the raven haired teen. Ash seeing the looks on their faces decided to start running, knowing where this was heading... nothing, not even this new weird sensing ability would help him now
While Ash was running he then remembered how he was able to still see with his eyes closed yesterday and decided to see if it was true. He closed his eyes and soon he could see a blue outline again and saw which rooms had people in them or not as well as where Paul, Trip and Drew were.
Not wanting to question how it was he was doing this, he just kept running, while passing some other students who looked at him strangely at running with his eyes closed. Ash soon found himself in the gym as he opened his eyes again and felt as the other three were slowly gaining up to him
'Great, now what do I do?' he thought to himself as he scanned the whole gym until his eyes landed on the door... however it was locked or had something preventing it from opening up 'Who locks the inside of a gym door!' was the though now running through his head. Nervously glancing at the gym locker rooms, Ash took the chance and ran into the boy's locker room
Paul, Drew and Trip all found themselves in the gym and started looking around for the raven haired teen that made them look like fools. Paul signaled the two to look around in the equipment room or the teacher's office as the purple haired teen made his way into the boy's locker room
Meanwhile Ash had found himself in a very uncomfortable position. He, after panicking, did the most craziest thing ever... he somehow was able to get into the ventilation shaft after he literally broke the vent covering with unimaginable strength for someone like him
After waiting a while to see if Paul and his band of friends would return or find him, the teenager slowly got out of his hiding spot and dropped back to the ground. He sighed in defeat and ran a hand through his hair as he left the gym soon afterwards, flinching when the vent cover felt to the ground
While he was heading back to try and find his friends, he thought back to how he was able to sense and see things with his eyes closed… again "I'm going crazy" he said to himself, but knew it wasn't case. This was the second time today he's done all this and he was starting to get scared at what was happening to him
Not noticing where he was going, Ash suddenly felt himself bump into someone. Thinking it to be Paul or the other two, he was about to leave until he heard a surprised voice
"Ash?"
Turning around he saw that it wasn't the trio of doom he had bumped into... it was May
Aftermath is right in this case! Ash's aura is now awakened and the poor teen is scared of what's happening to him. So far nothing like the other day has happened, and Ash is confused with everything right now. As stated before, he's also scared and who wouldn't be really after finding they have abilities. Anyway this chapter just showcases his aura randomly appearing or helping him out. Next chapter we will have an interesting Ash and May conversation as well as nope... to much spoilers, if you want to know... you gotta keep reading ;)
