"Well…at least you won't die a virgin eh Eve?" Cheekily, I call out trying to ease the tight tension. We look up at the breach that begun all this mess, now newly opened thanks to Corypheus and fully powered up to destroy the whole world if we don't end this here and now.
"Fennic!" Hissing, Eve glares at me making me chuckle as we approach.
"Tell me where is your maker now? Call him! Call down his wrath upon me. You cannot for his wrath does not exist. I am Corypheus I shall deliver you from the lie in which you linger. Bow before your new god and be spared!" Proudly, Corypheus declares elevating some ball I believe to be the artefact Solas mentioned in the air, engulfed in a ruby red aura.
"Never!" One of the scouts declares bravely attempting to fight off against the magister.
"As you wish!" Corypheus declares releasing a shock wave of red as he disappears, being replaced with one of the demons, the annoying ones that pop out of the floor and strikes at the already hurt men and women, tossed from the sheer force of the shockwave. Urgently, we approach, Cassandra leading the charge of soldiers and defeating the demon avenging the one that spoke against Corypheus.
"I knew you would come." Snarling, Corypheus greets us alongside Harding and Cassandra.
"It ends here Corypheus!" Bravely, Eve declares to him.
"We shall see!" He snarls as he raises his hands in the air our eyes widening as pieces of earth begin to levitate forming it's own pathway or creation as Harding and Cassandra fall, departing from our group due to the rocky ledge. We peer over watching them continue the fight down below while we deal with the nuisance up above.
"You have been most successful in foiling my plans but let us not forget what you are. A thief in the room place at the wrong time. An interloper, a nat. we shall prove here once and for all which one of us is worthy of godhood!" Resolute, he declares.
"I'm the maker's chosen!" Angrily, Eve proclaims making my eyes widen at her declaration as the battle begins all seems well as we fight.
"You shall be dealt with harshly Tevinter. The imperium suffers no traitors!" Disgraced, Corypheus roars at Dorian fires his blasts as he places his hand on my arm. Quickly, I fire my arrows while Bull charges ahead taking Corypheus head on.
"Your imperium will never be mine monster!" Proudly, Dorian declares quickly healing Bull before firing another lighting blast at Corypheus.
"A beardless stone worshipper? Ran as fast as your little legs can take you!" Disgusted, Corypheus sneers as Varric fires alongside me as we take cover as creatures from the breach rise up.
"So, you're reduced to dwarf jokes now?" Blandly, Varric scowls at Corypheus.
"And stereotypical jokes at that?" I add smirking with Varric as we continue the assault.
"Silence Rattus! You shall serve me well when I infuse red lyrium into your form and grant you a seat by my side!" Corypheus dictates as he attempts to slash at me but I nimbly dodge his strikes, releasing a smoke bomb to dart out of sight. Instantly, I take cover as I feel my lyrium marks burn, having them conduct with my blades to make Corypheus cry out cradling his blue scarred arm as Bull charges ahead using to that distraction to his advantage.
"Wow I haven't been called a Rattus in a while and yeah going to have to say no on that seat, much more of a lone throne gal myself!" Snidely, I remark as I take cover alongside Solas glancing at me as I reluctantly nod outstretching my hand out. He uses the markings to fire even more powerful spells, managing to freeze Corypheus. I note one of the breach creatures' approach Solas from behind, him unaware as I strike at the creature saving him.
"Now we're even." I answer. Surprised, Solas turns to me, the two of us panting from the fight, both of us nodding as we dodge out of the way as our cover is destroyed by Corypheus blast.
"Is this mage another ragged ally? One more Rattus emerges from the garbage!" Revolted, Corypheus sneers at Solas.
"You cannot win Corypheus." Confidently, Solas tells him.
"You were a fool to come Qunari you shall be slaughtered like your name sake!" Arrogantly, Corypheus declares as Corypheus swipes taking on his magical attacks, clawing at him.
"Big words lets see you back them up!" Cackling, Bull declares only for his eyes to widen when Corypheus releases a desperate blast of ruby red as we all group up, scowling at the heaving mess, cradling his blue scarred arm, the blue lyrium combating against the raw red I assume. Dorian rushes over to Bull's side tending to him.
"Who dares…" Seething, Corypheus snarls as we hear a familiar rapid roar of a dangerous dragon, the supposed arch demon only for our eyes to widen when a purple dragon arises from nowhere.
"I think I can die happy now guys…" In awe, Bull whispers as we watch the dragon duke it out.
"Bit early to say that don't you think?" Dorian argues.
"Eh who knows…I have to agree with Bull on this though. It's nice instead of hunting and killing dragons we can watch them rip each other apart." Smirking, I point out only for our eyes to widen when the purple dragon collapses to the ground, the smoke fading to reveal Morrigan in human form, coughing out ruby red.
"Morrigan!" Horrified, Eve cries out rushing over to her side only for me to grab her stopping her.
"We have a job to do!" Firmly, I remind her as Eve sadly nods, glancing guilty at Morrigan as we finish off the dragon, weakening Corypheus with Eve slitting the dragon's throat.
"Let us end this here, let the sky boil and the world be wrecked asunder!" We then continue chasing after Corypheus defeating him each and every time, taking care of his minions until…
"Not like this, I have walked the walls of the golden city across the ages. Ancient ones I beseech you if you exist if you've ever truly existed aid me now!" Desperate, Corypheus proclaims to the high heavens only for Eve to raise her hand upwards, her mark beaming brightly. She pulls prying the orb from Corypheus hand as it collapses to his knees, weakened, defeated.
Victorious, Eve raises the orb skywards, a beam of bright green sparking skywards hitting the breach and sealing it for good and like a open wound, stitched over leaving nothing but a scar, a reminder of this time for days to come.
"You wanted to be in the fade." Slowly, Eve approaches the hunched over magister, pieces of rock comes crashing down on either side as the orb rolls to the side, it's green hue vanishing rolling to the side lifeless as next thing I know everything turns pitch black.
Groaning, I furrow my brow at the pounding headache. Shakily, I stand, finding Eve tending to the others while my brow furrows as I hear the faint tap of gravel or some sort of porcelain making me turn, my blues widening to find a devastated Solas on his knees, clutching the remnants of the broken shards of the orb.
"Solas?" Warily, I approach him unsure on what to do.
"The orb…." Pained, Solas whispers as I stop in my steps keeping a distance.
"I know you wanted it saved. Even I did but…we can still look into the remnants of it if you want or…" I offer struggling not sure on what to say really.
"It is not your fault." He assures me as he stands turning to face me, my eyes widening at the look of pain, sorrow and guilt in his eyes.
"What did you do?" Sternly, I demand from him.
"It was not supposed to happen this way." Pained, he whispers to me.
"Oh for…Solas what have you done!?" Agitated, I demand from him tears in my glassy hues as I turn away, hands on my hips furiously batting my eyelashes.
"No matter what comes I want you to know what we had was real…" Tenderly, he whispers to me as I glance at his direction, my blues dilating in horror finding no aspect of dishonesty in his eyes, his declaration genuinely breaking my heart.
"Solas…" Quietly, I begin my voice shaking quivering as I try to steel my nerves.
"Inquisitor are you alive!?" Urgently, Cassandra calls out as I turn to the rubble, rushing over and helping Eve up as I glance at Solas lingering longingly watching.
"Just go already. That was your plan from the start after all." Snippily, I remind him as he grimaces pained while I simply scowl at him painfully turning my back to him. We leave him there moping, focusing on Eve's safety as we head back down to Skyhold to celebrate our victory.
Loudly, the people of Skyhold cheer as they celebrate their win over Corypheus." Silently, I watch on from the balcony of my room as everyone gets drunk and dance. Smirking, I watch as Eve drags Cullen on the dancefloor, the two sharing a meaningful long loving kiss, Cullen bravely dipping her making me chuckle as the others wolf whistle cheering on the happy couple making me sigh bowing my head, blinking back the tears in my glassy hues.
"You not going down there to celebrate? We did win." Surprised, I turn to Varric approaching me, offering me a pint making me smile softly.
"Maybe later…" I whisper as he and I click glasses.
"You okay?" Gently, Varric questions me.
"I'm fine…I just…" Pained, I turn to the side blinking back the tears threatening to fall.
"What are you going to do after?" Varric asks.
"After? I think…I'll move about a bit more; I'm guessing you're returning to Kirkwall." Softly, I smile.
"To write about this definitely. You're not coming? You going to Weishaupt to catch up with your brother?" Varric guesses.
"No. It's safe if I don't." Sadly, I smile as I push myself off the balcony to turn my back to the roaring crowd.
"But Sebastian's troops have diminished." Varric furrows his brow.
"Only a shard of danger has been destroyed when one falls another shall rise. Our family will never have a day without someone out there trying to hunt us down, if I were to join them…" Grimly, I state the fact.
"Fen don't think like that." Concerned, Varric sighs.
"I'm only thinking for them." Sternly, I state the fact.
"And what about you?" Varric frowns.
"I…I have things I need to do on my own." Sighing, I state the fact as it is.
"You're thinking about going back there to them?" Varric guesses.
"Maybe if I can steel my nerves that is." Nervously, I smile.
"Be careful…you hear me, you better keep me and your brother updated to." Frowning, Varric nags at me making me chuckle.
"I'll try but you know me Varric." Cheekily, I shrug.
"I do…" Sighing, Varric nods.
"…I'm going to get some air." Varric tells me as I nod, the two of us once again clicking our glasses as I watch him leave only then to furrow my brow at a familiar sketchpad…I should return this to him at the least before we part ways, to clear the air and just…get him out of my life, forever and forget all this love crap nonsense.
Softly, I place my hands around the sketchpad, my fingertips brushing against the material. Frowning, my grip tightens on my book as I make my way down, towards a familiar room only to furrow my brow at the empty room, the desk once littered with notes sketches and all sorts now a clean slate. Tenderly, I glide over to the desk, my brow furrowed at the memories flickering before me, some bringing a coy smirk to my lips as I look up at the beautiful murals, never having really fully appreciated them before as I take in the still silence using it to help me admire each and every mural until…
Silently, I approach the final one, the one he pestered no one to reveal, his masterpiece he called it, heh. Sadly, I smile fondly at the memory of me nagging at him to stay in bed but he refused, wanting to finish his masterpiece, often according to Dorian he mentioned Solas refusing to leave the mural's side devoted to finishing it. Bravely, I slowly approach the cloak, grasping hold of the fabric and tearing it down, my blues widening at the mural before me, my eyes widening as I crumble to my knees at the sight a snow white Fennic Fox with accents of blue and eyes of blue huddled into the cloak of a coal black beast resembling a wolf as I stare at the chains coiled around the Fennic fox breaking free…behind them is a woman, a gorgeous goddess with white as hair as snow looking strong, angry, defiant, the chains broken shattered around her wrists with hands, a male wrapped around her, the couple holding one another lovingly.
"Is this…how he saw me?" Stunned, I reach out my fingertips brushing against the fine grains of the mural of the woman, feeling a wave of emotions engulf me as a small sob escalates into a pained cry of anguish. Devastated, I fall to my knees, my focus blurry as I lurch forward releasing a cry of grief towards the high heavens…
So yeah this is it, until a certain DLC of course but I got to ask what did you think of this ending? Of Solas mural? How do you think Solas saw Fennic? I would love to know your thoughts and such on their relationship, an overall if you would if that's too much I'm sorry...
