This is a little four part series, each one set in a bathroom with one character as the focus. Standard pairings apply. Anime universe. Varying genre, yet all of these stories are pointless. Enjoy.
I was kinda thinking of the movie Four Rooms when I wrote this, but I haven't seen the film in about 8 years, so I doubt there'll be much similarity. But anyway, I felt I had to say that out of fairness.
Oh yeah, disclaimer time: I do not own Trigun, I am merely having fun in a non-profit way. Happy, lawyer-people?
1: Meryl
Timeline: in the two years after Augusta.
Genre: Angst (I still can't get it right)
Thank God I cleaned the bathroom.
A boneless heap. Mascara running, clothes crumpled, hair frizzled and sticking to her face.
How professional. You're so drunk you can't stand up without vomiting, not that there's anything but stomach acid left to come up. Very dignified, aren't we?
Meryl Stryfe was rarely drunk. Part of it was a control thing; the fear of saying something she'd regret kept her stone cold sober most of the time. Another part was that she didn't enjoy feeling dizzy and nauseated, and finally her her iron-clad belief that drinking was for people who couldn't handle their problems. All in all, it took a lot to drive Meryl to drink, and when she did, the results were never pretty.
Right now the scene was about as messy as it got. Meryl was slumped against her bathroom cabernet, facing the toilet.
I'm glad I took off my earrings. I'd hate to loose one. But not… not…
Her thoughts were moving slowly – thankfully, that was the whole point of the night – but they also were lucid and clear. She had been happy concentrating on surface things: the smell of bleach, the way the light reflected off white porcelain, or the gleam of the clean tiles scrubbed this morning with an old toothbrush. It took her mind off the nausea, as well as other things. It wasn't working any more. Thoughts she'd pushed aside were beginning to bubble up to the surface of her mind.
…not as much as I'd hate it if I lost you.
She closed her eyes, thankful the world had stopped spinning. The same, unfortunately, could not be said for her stomach. It would still be a while before she could crawl into bed.
Oh God, Vash, where are you!
And because I would be a bad bad person contributing to Society's Problems if I didn't say this… kids, don't drink if you're under age! And if you are over the age and you have made an informed decision, remember to pace yourself, drink water, have some food and try to stick to only one kind of alcohol (odd but true).
Um… if you're reading this, thanks for getting to the bottom of the page. If you could be so kind as to review, I'd be happy. It's midnight and I have to get to bed because I have to get up and go to work tomorrow even though I wanted to write some reviews for people's works that I've left too long unreviewed (sorry Aine!) but I have to sleep.
