I've seen a lot of story ideas in my time, but sometimes I'm just not personally satisfied with how they go. It's not a dig at certain people (they sort of know who they are) but sometimes I have a different vision than other people do. This story is one of those many ideas. Recently I came across another Kuroinu fic. Yes, yes. I know. You're probably sick and tired of reading of these ideas from me involving this series. But hey, creativity strikes at weird times and that's something I can't really control. But let's get back on topic so we can get on with things, yes? So, I came across another Kuroinu fic. This one was meant to be more of a comedic take on the series, primarily taking on a more isekai route. The story in question is "Kuroinu's Women in my house" by TheAutorArgentina (id: 1385591). I have my personal opinions about the story, but I'll say this. The idea seemed humorous so I decided that I would see what I could come up with as the idea as follows: somehow the female characters of Kuroinu end up in a male OC's house on our IRL Earth and has to deal with them living there, their interpersonal actions, and them vying for sexual supremacy over each other for the male OC. Similar stories have been done with doujins as well, but with specific characters (mostly Origa/Olga). So, let's get into some specifics.

The first elephant in the room will be Primm. She's the youngest of all of the Princess Knights and may be implied in the source material to be underage. Not in this story. She'll be of age (meaning 18) and while she may be naive, she won't be dumb, if that makes sense. You know? The difference between book smart and street smart. Then the second elephant is sort of Luu-Luu. She's portrayed being a petite half-ling, borderline child-like. I'm going to portray her appearance being more of a short-stack in terms of proportions (think imp Midna but a smidge taller, perhaps?). Personally, I think those two changes alone will make me feel more comfortable writing this fic idea. Everyone else's physical appearance will remain the same. With those two changes made, one last thing to cover. The male OC that will be the "harem lead" will be based at least personality-wise off of me but with a different name.

Title: Same as it never was(?)

Summary: Jordan Kramer is a normal, average guy. The average height for an American. Average albeit on the slimmer weight. Works a 9-to-5 just like any other working adult. However, he's a single working man who spends his free time playing various games, such as eroge visual novels. A freak storm and a power outage cause his PC to glitch out and suddenly shut off with the lights. When the lights come up, his house is now occupied with 9 women who become unexpectedly attracted to him. How will he deal with such an unexpected development?

Pairing(s): m!OC x Celestine/Origa/Chloe/Primm/Claudia/Alicia/Maia/Luu-Luu/Kaguya.

Rating: Heavy M for obvious reasons.

Disclaimer: I only own my copy of MS Word and my desktop. Kuroinu belongs to the appropriate rights holders for the visual novel, manga, and animation. I only own this iteration of this idea. See the foreword for the full disclaimer.

WARNING: Kuroinu is an h-doujin/VN which contains sexual material. If you do not like such things, feel free to skip this chapter. This entry into my ventures into this series is definitely on the brighter side of things but it doesn't change the fact that it is still a borderline controversial series that many do not like on principle and is understandable.

[Play: "Once in a Lifetime" by The Talking Heads]

In a large master bedroom sat a king-size bed. That same room was shrouded in dim red light and if one would look closely, they would see ten figures in a tangle of limbs as they touched each other eliciting moans from the other party. The smell of sweat that was accompanied by pheromones caused all who were exposed to it to lose themselves in the moment and with each other. One woman, one with a full figure and large breasts bounced atop a man's rod, and her long blonde hair slicked with sweat and other bodily fluids swaying as she moved her hips. Her cheeks were flushed in arousal as she shared a sloppy, tongued kiss with a black-haired dark-skinned woman. Both of them shared pointed ears as elves would have. Beneath that dark-skinned woman was a younger woman eager lapping with her tongue at the woman's labia and her fingers playing with her clitoris. Her free hand playing with her own lady parts.

Underneath the light-skinned elf a much shorter woman, some would call her a half-ling but others would call her a 'short-stack, used her tongue to lap at the man's testicles, occasionally popping one into her mouth and suckling on it for a bit before going to the other one all while fondling herself. On top of the man's mouth sat another woman, this one of more East Asian descent who kept moving her hips forcing his tongue to dig deeper into her soft folds while holding one of the man's hands to fondle her breasts, pinching and twisting a nipple every so often which would elicit a moan from her. His other hand dug furiously at another woman's crotch as she moaned as he flicked her clitoris like a joystick in the way she liked. Beside them was a pink-haired girl who was using a double-sided dildo to penetrate herself as well as the blonde girl below her as the two kissed furiously. Lastly, a slim woman gyrated her hips on one of the man's legs as she waited for her turn.

'Now, you may ask yourself: How did this lucky man end up with nine lovely women willing to sleep with him and at the same time? Which is a very good question to ask. However, the better question is, how are girls that came from an eroge visual novel end up in the real world? That's one I can't really tell you.'

The man came inside the busty elf as she shuddered in pleasure, her cheeks redder than one may expect. But because of her pale skin, it looked even redder. "Get off, Celestine! He's mine next!" the girl beneath her attempted to call dibs. The girls all looked at him with hungry eyes.

'Well, this is my life now. May as well tell you how I got here.'

"Same as it never was. Same as it never was. Same as it never was."

Multiple weeks earlier…

My name is Jordan Kramer. I'm your average, upper twenty-something working a tech job 9-to-5 at forty plus hours a week. I stand at five foot ten inches tall and weigh around two hundred fifty pounds – though some of that is thanks to muscle mass (some). I have dark brown hair, blue eyes, and fair skin. The only two things about me to note are that I've got a few extra pounds I could stand to lose and that – thanks to the joys of genetics – I am a hairy dude. As in dark body hair which is a pain for multiple reasons that I won't go into. As for my job? It's tech support. Day in and day out I get to experience the joys of both idiocy and legitimately odd or interesting questions or issues.

Another thing to note about me is that I'm single. Single as fuck. The last girlfriend I had was years ago and while we parted amicably, it's been close seven or eight years since then. Most of my friends are online only in terms of contact as they've moved well beyond where I live. Makes for some boring Friday or Saturday nights. Used to be we'd go out after work would let us out and we'd drink. Some of us grew up and got families. Some of us just didn't want to do it anymore. Some of us moved multiple states away. Life happens. But what do I do now? Well, since a certain pandemic hit, I spend most of my time playing video games at home – not like that changed anything from before, if we're being completely honest.

What games do I play? Well, the better question is what games don't I play? My games library has everything from horror to the nonsensical shooter to indie titles that have nothing to do with other genres. One day I'll be playing World of Warships (and sucking at it), the next I'll be doing some 'cheeky breeki' in the Metro series. Sometimes playing a JRPG like Persona and then swapping to a game like Yakuza. My point is that I play a lot of different games. However, the ones I find to be the most interesting are the visual novel genre. There are so many stories that are told from comedy to more serious topics to romance (sometimes romance is added in all of them for good measure). But if there's a more infamous one, it's the hentai visual novel. Some are plain vanilla romance, but then others are a lot darker and depressing but have decent writing (surprisingly). One of the latter is one by the name of Bible Black (and it better be good considering how much of a pain it is to get your hands on it considering it's close to twenty years old now). But there is one that is well known by the name of Kuroinu, a VN where all the bad things that could happen to a hentai girl happen. The writing isn't too great, but the artwork is good. You know, hentai logic. And it happened to be the game that I was currently playing.

Well, not the entire game. The way it's posted in… certain places that require you to sail the high seas is split up into its 3 chapters. Each of the 3 chapters covers 3 of the girls' routes. There technically is a way to put them all together, but it requires an executable like you would if you wanted to play the 'genuine' experience of Fate Realtnua. But then again, I'm the kind of guy who just cares about the game and if it runs. Because of the game's origin of acquirement, I decided to be a little paranoid and open it inside of a virtual machine. I had finished chapter 2 yesterday and was on my way to complete chapter 3. I finished the game and started to reflect on the game itself while it ran and I navigated to the unlocked 'art.'

Out of all the girls, only one person really deserved what happened to them – and it was mainly due to idiocy in choosing allies – was Origa. Yes, using a band of demonic (in-game definition) entities like orcs that rape and pillage wholesale who you only barely control totally won't turn against you should the power you have over them be broken and they turn you into their plaything. Nah, not at all. The era that the plot is supposed to take place in is a more medieval fantasy world that is much crueler than ours but there is this thing called common sense. If your own forces can be turned with just the promise of fucking you and making you their seedbed, you aren't leading right.

As for the other girls? Chloe is a victim of circumstance and the rest were betrayed by those that they thought they could trust. That did bring up interesting questions. Why were they betrayed by both the Kuroinu mercenaries as well as their own high-ranking officials? The game never really went into the geopolitical or just general politics of the world. It was just: 'Dark Queen Origa and her dark armies are invading Eostia and Goddess-reborn Celestine and her Princess Knights stand against them!' There were fanfictions of the world and fan theories to explain this. One of the more compelling ones is that it was a society based on a matriarchy where women ruled, but because men were still better at fighting, they were still used as cannon fodder – not much changed there from real life – and were demeaned; and because they were undereducated and knew not much else other than absolute basic economics (money = things), how to swing a sword, and how to fuck. The men would be considered second or third-class citizens despite doing all the work. It was a compelling theory, to say the least. Would make sense as to why immediately after gaining the upper hand in levying an army of demonic beings for the price of literally one dark elf queen's snatch (and her bodyguard) they went to war again and the armies and leadership of Eostia stood no chance; and their closest advisors betraying the leadership of each fortress city as they too were fed up and wanted their 'fair share' of the glory.

The second theory that I had heard made just as much sense but was far simpler: hentai logic. It doesn't need to make sense. Just need to get prim and proper anime girls with different fetishes set up to be corrupted and broken. Occam's Razor says that this is the simpler one and is likely correct.

A ping from my phone brought me out of my thoughts. Looking down, it was a text message from a buddy of mine: Ted.

T: Hey, you up for drinks this weekend?
J: Where at?
T: That arcade bar downtown
J: Wait, you mean the one just down the street from the university campus?
T: The same

I internally groaned. I liked this bar but traveling out it was close to a half-hour out on the highway.

T: Come awn, you'll meet some cuties and you might bring one back to your pad
J: Yeah, what drunk girl wants to drive in some dude's car they just met for a half-hour?
T: Then why not go to her place?
J: Assuming she has a place and isn't living in dorms
T: You're just trying to find an excuse not to hang out with me
J: More like having to drive and if I strike out having to drive home drunk
T: Then stay at my place
J: I know you're going to pick someone up and then I'll have to deal with drunken sex fiends.
T: Bitch you just jealous of my supa sayan swagga
J: You spelled Saiyan wrong
T: Nerd
J: STD test lab
T: Why must you harm me like this?
J: Bitch you started it

I laughed as I sent that last message. This was the usual for us. Well, the insults that is. He'd send some, I'd send some and we'd both laugh.

T: You hear we're supposed to get a storm tonight?
J: No, but you've given me an excuse not to come out
T: Aww, but all the cuties will be hanging onto you, seeking solace while the thunder booms
J:

There was a flash of lightning outside and thunder immediately rattled my windows. That was close. Lightning flashed again and the thunder immediately boomed again, but this time my power went out. In what some may - on the outside - call comical, I fumbled for my phone which had been set on my desk, and turned on the internal flashlight. I walked down into my basement to find the main breaker box. The big amp breaker had been flipped as well as all of the smaller breakers. I flipped the main breaker and started to slowly flip the rest of the breakers. I heard a crash upstairs which got my immediate attention. I went to the gun safe I kept in the basement and opened it, pulling out a Glock 19 with a rail-mounted flashlight and a magazine of hollow-point rounds. I loaded and racked the slide so there was a round chambered before walking slowly up the stairs, making sure to miss the one squeaky floorboard that was on one of the steps.

The tritium night sights glowed in the dim light of the kitchen as the lights had been off at the time. I saw movement and called out, "Whoever's there, you're trespassing on private property! Make yourself known! I am armed!" I rounded a corner into my living room where I saw several shadows. I turned on the mounted light to see nine women of various appearances who were all wincing at the bright light, and they were all very familiar. After all, I had seen them on my screen naught less than an hour before. They looked slightly strange in real life versus in a stylized animation or drawing style but you could see the resemblance. "The hell?"

To say the room was tense would be an understatement. Fortunately, cooler heads prevailed. Mainly because no one else was armed (though Origa and Celestine were elves and therefore could use magic, and Kaguya was the only other one that could use a more spiritual form of magic). The first thing I did was go to my liquor cabinet and grab a glass and a bottle of Patrón; I was going to need it. After all, my monitor was shot. Right where the 32" LCD screen once was, there was a burned-out hole that showed the innards. Seated in my Laz-e-Boy chair, I asked for an explanation as to why they were thereafter confirming their identities.

The super-short version? Magic fuckery. The much longer version? It had been a week since the final Fortress fell in-game and since then Celestine had been charging her magic for one final spell. During the parade in which they had been stripped naked for the gawking of her former subjects, she unleashed it. However, the desired effect was to kill Vault and his men, what actually happened is that all nine of them were transported and clothed before being what felt like being squeezed out of something (my monitor) and ended up on his bedroom floor before they wandered out into the living room before I discovered them. Luu-Luu and the rest had been fascinated by the lighting not needing fire.

"This is beyond strange," I said as I downed my glass. "Are you planning on going back?"

"Unfortunately, any magic I once had is at minimum levels," Celestine explained. "It would be years before I had the magical ability to use the same spell as before."

"And my magic has long since been drained," Origa added.

"And my magic is more spiritual rather than the kind that both Lady Celestine and Queen Origa has," Kaguya added as well.

"Plus, there is no need for us to go back," Claudia said bitterly. "Everything is lost."

"What about Klaus-?" Alicia asked.

"He was slaughtered by his own father for being weak and not producing an heir!" Claudia spat out. "There is nothing left for me there."

"Those who we once called friends and close advisors were in Vault's pocket the entire time," Primm added. "I've been such a fool!" she started to cry.

"I hate to be dour as well," Maia added. "But I agree with the little lady. Any allies that we once had or those that were once loyal would have been scattered to the winds, gone into hiding, or executed to prevent an uprising. Any left are either too cowardly to do anything or go along with Vault's Cuntry plans. There really is nothing left for us there and there is no point in returning."

"The only option we have is to try and start our lives anew," Celestine announced.

"That's great and all, but in case you haven't noticed: this world is much different from the world you left," I say.

"How so?"

I turn on the TV and flip the channel to the news. "I live in a technologically advanced society where magic doesn't exist outside of parlor tricks and sleight of hand. You'll pretty much have to start from scratch and nothing. Meritocracy and all that."

There was silence. "What if we stayed here while we adjust ourselves?" Primm asked. The others agreed to this proposal.

I poured out and took another sip of tequila as I thought it over. These girls were new to this world and knew nothing about it and had nothing that they could offer as collateral until they got themselves set up. I may be an asshole and miser at times, but I'm not a heartless bastard. I took a long drink from the tumbler I had been using before I made my decision aloud. "You can live here." They cheered. "But there will be some ground rules."

"That is fair," Celestine pre-empted any begrudging moans or attempts to dispute it. "This is your property, after all."

"First is a kind of dress code. I don't care what you wear to bed when you sleep. But when out and about you have to wear what's socially acceptable in the eyes of the public."

"What do you mean?" Chloe asked.

I pointed to Primm's attire. "Primm's attire is very formal but acceptable." I proceeded to point to Origa. "Yours, however, very risqué and it will likely not fly over will with onlookers." I found a flier for a local clothing store and placed it on the coffee table. "Flip through that and pick out what you want and I'll order it. Just… don't go overboard. I have a disposable income but not that disposable."

"That is fair, but how will we repay you for such kindness to strangers?" Primm asked.

'You're not strangers to me,' I thought. "Don't worry about it for now. You just got out of a bad place, so let that be future you's problem." She nodded. I proceed to go over several other rules. You know, common stuff that you'd go over with a long-stay guest or foreign exchange student. It was agreed that they were all amicable. You know, like stay away from the gun safe until they've been instructed on how to handle a gun properly. Help with chores and other housework (mainly setting up a rotation so that everyone has something to do, even me when I'm not at work). I then explained how they were seen in my world: characters in a visual novel. Characters in a story. To say this was shocking for them was unsurprising. The only one that wasn't too surprised was Celestine who explained the concept of multiple worlds existing (the Many Worlds Interpretation). I pulled out my phone and activated the remote desktop tool I kept on it just in case I needed to get into my PC while away.

"What are you doing?" Luu-Luu asked.

"You know how my world's concept of you are characters in a story?" She nodded. "Well, if you came from my computer, it's safe to say others can follow you. So…" I pressed a few soft-keys on my phone to get the options up for the virtual machine and shut it down – which happened quickly – and selected the delete button on the virtual machine. "…Let's make sure no one can follow you." It took a couple of seconds but it disappeared completely from Virtual Box's user interface, and I confirmed through file explorer that it was completely scrubbed. "And, gone from digital existence." I disconnected the RAT and locked my phone. "Well, what's next?"

To be continued…?

XxXxXxX

That's all I have for this chapter addition. There isn't really much to go on, is there? The whole concept behind it is: Kuroinu girls get transported to our world from the VN. That's it. You can go from there. So, what can I see being the biggest challenges to this story? The first is definitely making this interesting as it would be a long-term project. Unlike a doujin that can make the same plot point interesting (meet, connect, sleep with each other, repeat with another girl) with the art style and visuals that make doujins interesting. That is the ultimate challenge. Using no source material other than the appearance of the characters; and while there may be inspirational sources, no absolute sources. That will be the biggest bottleneck of this entire pilot endeavor (it would also mean reading a lot of h-doujin as reference material too). I think that this story idea will remain a pilot though. It's not that I "can't be fucked to do it," but more so I don't think that I can do the idea itself justice. While some may say I'm selling myself short, I sort of am not. Trying to make a slice-of-life story interesting where you essentially have to create drama from mundane things is something that people don't realize how tough it is to make it interesting. That's something that I do admire about SOL authors that are successful. But diatribe aside, I think that will be the end for this idea.

But on to other ideas. This is one of the more recent ideas that I cranked out so I'll be going back to files already started to see if I can work on them or not. We'll have to see though. Not much else on that front at the moment nor what I'm currently thinking up. I finally finished "Control" so I may go forward with one idea I penned the concept up back in September last year which hinged on the completion of Control before I could go through with it. I just received word that Komi is going to be getting an anime finally. It'll be interesting to see how that comes out.

But that's all I really have for now. Let me know what you think in the usual places.
