Part 9

The next afternoon Caitlin sat in the car as Barry pulled up in front of the house that he wanted to buy for them. The real estate agent was already there waiting for them.

"Mr. And Mrs. Allen?"

"Uh I'm Barry Allen and this is uh…." Said Barry

"Caitlin Snow, I am the mother of his daughter and his ex girlfriend. But we are still friends." Said Caitlin

"Ok. So let's take a look at the house."

They walked through the house. Caitlin found that she liked it a lot. One thing that she liked the most is the big backyard. It had a six foot privacy fence. There were hardwood floors through out the house which Caitlin loved. It saved them from having to rip out carpet and replacing it. They went down to the basement which was completely finished with a main area that could be set up as a playroom for Crystal as well as a bedroom with it's own bathroom with a stall shower. When they went up to the second floor where the other bedrooms were Caitlin fell in love with the master bathroom. In the bathroom there was a whirlpool tub. Barry smiled seeing the way Caitlin's eyes lit up seeing the tub.

"You like that tub don't you Cait?" asked Barry

"Yeah. I do. I like the whole house so far." Said Caitlin

They walked through the whole house. There were four other bedrooms besides the master. Two full bathrooms not including the master or the bathroom in the basement bedroom. Two half bathrooms on the main floor. A wood burning fireplace in the family room. In the backyard was a redwood weather treated deck. Caitlin could just see having friends and family over for summer barbeques.

"Barry, I think we should buy it." Said Caitlin

"You really like it?" asked Barry

"It is perfect. I mean don't you think? But can we really afford it? I don't have a lot if money."

"Don't worry about the price. I have it covered."

"Barry if you want us to start a relationship again you need to be honest with me."

"My grandmother left me a lot of money when she died three years ago. I was her only grandchild."

"Which grandmother?"

"My dad's mom."

"Grandma Lucy?"

"Yeah. She invested in several companies that made a boat load of money. I don't remember all of them. But it is safe to say that if I didn't want to work I wouldn't have to. I could live a life like Oliver Queen or Bruce Wayne."

"Barry, I am glad that the money hasn't changed you from the man I fell in love with."

"Never Cait."

"I should have trusted you."

"Hey it is ok. I understand why you left like you did. Just promise me that you will talk to me before you run again."

"I will."

"Ok so you want the house?"

"Yes."

"Ok so I will talk with the realtor and you decide if we need to paint before we buy furniture so we can move in."

"Well Crystal's room will need to be painted. I promised her that she could have a purple room when we got a house."

"Ok so one purple room."

Caitlin reached into her purse and started to make a list while Barry went to talk to the real estate agent.

"So Barry, why aren't you telling her that you already own the house?"

"Because Aunt Joan if I tell her that I bought it six years ago to be her wedding present then she is going to feel even more guilty that she didn't trust me." Said Barry

"Are you sure you want to start things with her again?"

"Aunt Joan, I love her. I have loved her for longer than she even knows. I just never thought she would ever return them. That is why it took me until senior year of high school to ask her out."

"Well I hope things work out for the best. I am glad I finally met the woman you fell so hard for."

"Well you and Uncle Jay were living in Coast City until two years ago."

"You do know she is putting a list together of everything she wants done to this house before she will move in."

"Some how I think that I am going to get a lot of honey do lists from Cait. Even if we aren't married."

"Most likely. So what is your little girl like?"

"She is a mini Cait. Just beautiful."

"I hope that I get to meet her."

"You will."

Caitlin walked over to them with a smile.

"You know I couldn't figure it out until now. But I knew that I had seen you before. You're Nora's cousin right? I mean you look a lot a like." Said Caitlin

"Yes Joan Williams-Allen."

"She not only my mom's cousin but married to my dad's brother Jay." Said Barry

"As in your dad's twin brother Jay?" asked Caitlin

"Yeah. My dad and Uncle both like the same type of women. Though you remind me of my mom a bit too." Said Barry

"Uh I am not sure how to feel about that. No woman really wants to be compared to someone's mother." Said Caitlin

"Cait, trust me I don't have an Oedipus Rex thing going. I mean you remind me of my mom because you are both smart, kind loving and beautiful." Said Barry

"Well that is a good way then. Here is a list of things that need to be done."

Barry looked at it and knew there was no way he was going to be able to do this alone. Besides painting Crystal's room, Caitlin wanted to have the chimney cleaned, the kitchen repainted, floors cleaned and possibly refinished. The master suite repainted, furnace cleaned and inspected, replace the stove and refrigerator and have all the bathroom floors redone.

"You do know that for some of this we will have to hire someone to do it."

"I realize that. But it should be done."

"I have no problem with that. I want the house to be safe for Crystal to live in. So I will look into finding the best people to do the things that my dad and I can't. I want you to focus on getting started at your job and taking care of our daughter ok?"

"Ok. Thank you Barry."

"Anything for you Cait."

Caitlin hugged Barry feeling safe in his arms like she always had in the past.
