Part 26

The next day Caitlin and Barry got into the car with Crystal and headed for Central City Dog rescue. Caitlin had looked into them online when it was decided that they would get Crystal a dog. It was a no kill shelter that had people go around the city picking up stray and abandoned dogs. They would also take in dogs that the own could no longer care for. Caitlin had to admit that the pictures of the dogs posted on the web site just made her heart melt. There was actually one that she liked more then the others. But this was going to be her daughter's choice.

"Where are we going mommy?" asked Crystal

"It is a surprise." Said Caitlin

Barry parked the car in front of a brick building. Once outside the car they could hear dogs barking. Crystal broke into a big smile when she realized what they were there for.

"We are getting a doggie?" asked Crystal

"Yes honey we are getting a dog." Said Barry

The three of them walked in and were greeted by a man.

"Hi I'm Jack. Is there something I can help you with?"

"Yes I think we talked on the phone. I am Caitlin Snow, this is my uh Barry Allen and our daughter Crystal. We are looking to get a dog. From my research I thought this was the best place to look." Said Caitlin

"So you want one that will be good with kids." Said Jack

"Yeah." Said Barry

"Well I think I have the perfect one. He is a year old completely house broken. The owner was an older woman who had to go into a nursing home. Unfortunately her son's wife is allergic to dogs so they had to give him up." Said Jack

"What kind of dog is it?" asked Caitlin

"A white husky mixed with a yellow Labrador. Really sweet but been kind of sad since he arrived two weeks ago. Why don't we go meet him?"

Caitlin looked at Barry and nodded. He could see that it was the one that she had fallen for on the website. Jack led them into a room that had been set up for people to meet the dogs and play with them. He then returned a few minutes later. The dog walked into the room and looked at them. Crystal went right up to him and started to pet him. The dog started to wag his tail.

"What's his name?" asked Crystal

"Snowbarry." Said Jack

Barry had to hid a smile when he saw the look on Caitlin's face. He knew for a fact that if she had gotten a white dog like this one that was the name she would give it. Because it was the combination of both their names.

"Hi Snowbarry. You are a sweet boy. Say hi to mommy and daddy. They will like you. Then you can come home with me and we can play all the time. You can even sleep in my room with me." Said Crystal

Barry and Caitlin both got down on the floor and petted and played with the dog. He really seemed like a good dog. Caitlin knew he was the right dog for them. Barry knew by the look in her eyes that this was the dog that would be coming home with them. He got up and went to talk with Jack about adopting the dog. It didn't take long to fill in the paperwork and after Jack called Joe and Eddie to verify that he really was a CSI for CCPD he programed an ID chip with his and Caitlin's contact information and they went back to the room. Jack chipped Snowbarry gave them a leash and sent them on their way. Barry drove home after a stop at the pet store to get a food and water bowl, food a few toys, a bone and a bed for Snowbarry. Crystal took Snowbarry into the backyard to play right away.

"She really likes that dog." Said Caitlin

"She isn't the only one. Don't think I didn't notice the way you looked at that dog." Said Barry

"So I like him. Is that a bad thing?"

"No. Besides I like the idea of having a dog. He can protect you."

"Richard would kill him. He hates all animals."

"Cait, we aren't going to let him hurt you and Crystal."

"Barry, he will kill to get what he wants. He wants to make me suffer and then most likely kill me."

"I just got you back. There is no way that I am going to lose you again."

"Barry, we aren't actually together technically."

"Only because you aren't ready to be. Cait, I love you and want to be with you."

"I know. I love you too. But I need more time to get my head straightened out. My mom told me somethings yesterday that make me question if my dad is really who I remember him to be."

"I am not going anywhere. But that doesn't mean I won't keep telling you how much I love you."

Barry reach over and pulled Caitlin into a hug. He then placed a kiss on top of her head.

Richard watched from a distance as Caitlin was held by who he now knew was the father of her kid. He had his own plans for those two. He would let that crazy bitch take out the kid. He would also let her put Caitlin in the hospital where he would take her from and make her wish that she was dead by the time he was done with her. He was going to teach her that only he can end things. That as a woman she has no say in how things go in a relationship. He knew there was nothing he could do today so he got in his car and head to Bertinelli's bar to hook up with one of the girls that works there. It wouldn't be the first time he screwed one of the sluts that worked Bertinelli. Hell he did it at least once a week when he was with Caitlin. He had to get his needs filled some how Caitlin Snow was one of the worst he had ever had sex with. He would have thought that having a brat would have meant she knew how to please a man. But he was wrong. But then again she had only screwed one guy before him. Not that it mattered. When he was done with her she would never be with anyone ever again.
