Part 30

Barry walked into his house to find his mom curled up on the couch with both Crystal and Snowbarry. He wasn't sure how Caitlin was going to react to the dog on the couch. But then again she might be cool with it.

"Hey." Said Barry

"Daddy is mommy ok?" asked Crystal

"Mommy is going to be fine. But grandpa Henry is going to keep her a couple days just to make sure she is fully heathy again."

"Can I see her tomorrow after school daddy?"

"We will see. Now were you good for grandma?"

"Yes. She took Snowbarry and me to a dog park to play."

"Your mom and I were planning to take you there."

"I hope you don't mind I took her." Said Nora

"Mom, it's fine. Now I believe it is past your bedtime young lady. Now tell grandma goodnight."

"Night grandma love you." Said Crystal

"Love you my beautiful girl." Said Nora

Nora hugged and kissed Crystal then Barry took her upstairs and tucked her into bed. Snowbarry followed behind waited until Barry went downstairs and then jumped into bed with Crystal going to sleep. Barry went back downstairs to talk with his mom.

"So how is Caitlin really?" asked Nora

"She will recover. Iris is in jail. She is being charged with attempted murder."

"Barry do you want me to stay here tonight?"

"No mom I will be fine. It's not like I haven't been alone with Crystal at night before."

"I know. I am surprised that you aren't spending the night at the hospital."

"Cait sent Charlie and me home. Her mom is there with her. Though Cait did try and get her mom to go home too. But Dr. Tannhouser is refusing saying that it was past time that she makes up for being a bad mother to Cait."

"I never understood why Carla distanced himself from Caitlin so much."

"Caitlin hasn't told me. But that is something they talked about after Crystal's birthday party."

"Do you know how they caught Iris?"

"She was arrested in Keystone trying to hire a hitman to kill Crystal. Turns out the hit man was an undercover cop. Ronnie Raymond, who is married to one of Erin's sisters."

"She has a big family doesn't she?"

"Yeah. There are like ten kids in her family. Couple sets of twins."

"Erin isn't planning on that big of a family is she?"

"Not if she can help it. In fact I think Charlie mentioned that Erin is making him get a vasectomy."

"I guess he isn't too happy about that."

"Actually he just wants his wife to be happy."

"That is good. I take it that your date with Caitlin is off for tomorrow?"

"Yeah. Dad is keeping at least through the day after tomorrow. Cait is not happy about it."

"I am sure she is not. If you are sure you don't need me I will get home."

"Thanks mom. I will pick Crystal up from school and take her to see Cait after school."

"Ok. I might check on Caitlin tomorrow."

"There is a nut free bakery on 45th and Wallace that Cait loves their strawberry shortcake from."

"Then I think I might have to pick some up for her."

Barry hugged his mom and walked her to the door so he could lock up.

Joe walked into Keystone PD and showed his badge.

"I want to know if I can see my daughter. Iris West." Said Joe

The desk sergeant called Ronnie who came over.

"Detective West." Said Ronnie

"Ronnie Raymond, any chance I can talk to Iris?"

"Yeah come on I will take you down. So is Caitlin ok?"

"She is going to be fine. You haven't met her daughter yet have you?"

"No. Unfortunately I ended working the few times Charlie and Erin had family over for barbecues. We at least the ones Caitlin went to before she moved to Hub City."

"I only met the girl once but she looks just like her mom."

"I have seen pictures."

Ronnie led Joe to the holding cell that Iris was locked in. Iris looked up.

"Dad, you have to get me out of here. I did nothing wrong!" said Iris

"Iris Anne West that is a lie. I know you nearly killed Caitlin Snow. You are staying right where you are. I taught you better then to try and kill someone. Or to plot to kill a little kid." Said Joe

"Dad!"

"No Iris, I am done with you. I have no idea why you hate that woman so much. But I did not raise you to be like this. If I find out that any more harm comes to Caitlin or her daughter and you are responsible I will make sure that you never see the outside of a cell at Iron Heights again."

Joe turned and waked away. He didn't look back as Iris begged him to come back.

Henry looked over the test results he had ordered for Caitlin. Mostly it was good news. But one he wasn't so sure would be.

"Dr. Allen is everything ok?" asked one of the nurses

"Yeah. I just have to break some news to one of my patients in the morning that I am not sure will go over well."

"Ms. Snow?"

"How did you know?"

"Because I can see her name on the file. Plus Caitlin is one of us. She never talks down to anyone. Not even the people from housekeeping."

"That isn't the kind of person Caitlin is. I have known her for a long time. She doesn't think anyone is lower then her."

"Why do you think that everyone likes working with her? Or why those security guards are so determined to keep that asshole ex of hers away from her."

"Well it doesn't hurt that she did tutor them in school. Kept them on the football team."

"Whatever it is you need to tell her Dr. Allen, I am sure everything will be ok."

"I hope so."

Carla watched as her daughter slept. It had been a long time since she had done that. She had done that a lot when both her children were little. She gently reached over and pushed Caitlin's hair off her face. It was then she could hear Caitlin talking in her sleep.

"I'm not like him. I shouldn't be locked up in Caity's head. If I were free then that bastard would never been able to hurt Caity." Mumbled Caitlin

Carla realized then that her daughter's other personality was starting to surface. There had to be breaks to the mental block that had been placed to lock out the one her husband had named Khione. Not that it was surprising. Caitlin had been through so much in her life. The past year definitely had not been an easy year for her daughter. Carla just wasn't sure what it would be that finally let the other personality to finally break free and all she could do is hope that this personality would not be angry.
