Part 33
Richard watched from his car as Caitlin walked into her house with the father of her kid just before noon. He had not been able to go through with his plan of sneaking into the hospital and taking the bitch that destroyed his life. The hospital had too much security for him to get in. It didn't help that the stupid girl that was to help him got herself arrested. But that also revealed that there had been at least one undercover cop in Bertinelli's organization. Not that it mattered to him. Bertinelli already knew he was a cop. One that was willing to let things go for the right price. He drove off after a few minutes. There was no way he was going to get at Caitlin while she was at home. He was going to have to get her when she didn't have so many people around.
As soon as Caitlin walked in the front door she was greeted by her daughter nearly knocking her over. Snowbarry had come running and barked happily at seeing his mistress.
"Crystal, let me in the house and we can hug. You don't want to knock me over and have me go back to the hospital do you?" asked Caitlin
"Sorry mommy." Said Crystal
Crystal let Caitlin enter the house and sit on the couch before jumping up on her lap. Caitlin pulled her daughter into a big hug. She had only been away from her for two days and really missed her. When Caitlin let go she noticed that Nora and her mom were there as were Charlie, Eddie and Patty. Then she saw someone she hadn't seen since before she had left Central City.
"Ronnie Raymond what brings you by?" asked Caitlin
"What I can stop in to check in on one of my closest friend's kid sister? Besides I was the one who had the pleasure of arresting Iris for everything she did. Including attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder." Said Ronnie
"What do you mean conspiracy to commit murder? Who was she trying to have killed besides me?" asked Caitlin giving him an icy stare.
"Uh you didn't tell her Barry?" asked Ronnie
"Didn't tell me what? Bartholomew Henry Allen, you better start talking." Said Caitlin her eyes flashing an icy blue.
"Iris was trying to hire Ronnie who was undercover to kill our daughter." Said Barry
"Then it is a good thing that she is locked up in a cell. Because if she had harmed one hair on my little girl's head I would kill her." Growled Caitlin
Everyone could see Caitlin's eyes had a icy blue glow to them. Carla was the one that spoke first.
"Honey, Crystal is safe. No one is going to hurt her. You need to calm down. We also need to tell everyone our family secret." Said Carla
"What is your mom talking about Cait?" asked Barry
Caitlin sighed. She turned to the to Barry to see him looking at her with concern.
"Charlie, seeing you already know will you take Crystal and the dog out back?" asked Caitlin
"Sure. Come on kid." Said Charlie
"Go on with your uncle Crystal." Said Barry
"Ok daddy. Come on Snowbarry." Said Crystal
Once Charlie had left to go out in the backyard with Crystal and the dog everyone sat down.
"Mom, you tell them seeing as you know the whole story." Said Caitlin
"First thing all of you should know is that my husband, Caitlin and Charlie's father Thomas is not dead like I claimed. He is very much alive and imprisoned in a closed Tannhouser site in the arctic. He is locked away there because of the side effects of the treatment he made for ALS. He was able to cure it. But it made him into a very dangerous metahuman. Not only that it caused him to develop alternate personality. One that is hell bent on getting rid of his human side. What I didn't learn until after the fact is he used a more refined version of the treatment on Caitlin." Said Carla
"Turns out I had the genetic marker for ALS. So my dad made the decision on his own to try and cure me." Said Caitlin
"I found out when the side effects began to show in Caitlin. She had an accident while riding her bike. Was nearly hit by a car. She transformed. Her skin became very pale, eyes an icy blue like we saw earlier. Hair turned white. She saw herself in a mirror and it scared her. She also showed signs of an alternate personality. Fearing that it would be her father all over again. I found a way to repress the personality and powers. Though I am being to think that all the stress Caitlin has been under in the past year or so maybe causing all that to resurface." Said Carla
"Caitlin, if that is what is happening then you are going to need to learn to control these abilities. Metahumans are nothing new. There have been reports of what we call meta humans going as far back as the 1940's." said Henry
"I know. But I am scared. I know nothing about this other personality that comes with these powers I might have." Said Caitlin
"Dad, do you know any of these metahumans?" asked Barry
"I can't tell you that. Barry if I do I will be breaking doctor patient confidentiality." Said Henry
"You know back when I was a kid there were reports of people who said they saw a streak of lightning running through the streets." Said Eddie
"Yes he was called the Flash. He saved my life once. Barry you would have been around eleven this man in yellow broke into our home. You were at a sleep over. He tried to kill me. But the Flash came in and stopped him. I don't know how he knew to be there but he was." Said Nora
Nora of course left out the fact that the Flash was her brother in law Jay who was married to her near identical cousin Joan.
"No one believed your mom about the man in yellow that could move as fast as the Flash." Said Henry
"Is he still around? The Flash I mean." asked Patty
"Might be retired he was about my age. Probably can't go as fast as he use to." Said Henry
Caitlin could tell that Nora and Henry were hiding something. She could even hear a faint voice in her head telling her that something was up.
Caity, they know more then they are saying.
Caitlin ignored the voice and the cold feeling in her body.
