Part 36

Caitlin walked into her house to see Jay sitting on the couch reading with Crystal and Snowbarry curled up next to him. She could smell something cooking in the kitchen.

"You three look cozy." Said Caitlin

Jay and Crystal turned to look at her. Snowbarry jumped off the couch and ran over to her jumping up to lick her face.

"Mommy! Are you ok? Where is daddy?" asked Crystal

"I am fine. Daddy got hurt and is in the hospital. Grandpa Henry's friends are taking care of daddy." Said Caitlin hugging her daughter.

"You sure you are ok Caitlin?" asked Jay

"Perfectly fine Jay. Well other than worrying about Barry. Nora kicked me out. Told me to get some rest. I only agreed as long as she agreed once I come back to the hospital she will do the same thing." Said Caitlin

"Joan is in the kitchen making lunch. Not sure what but it smells good. Don't worry we both know that this is a peanut free house. Not that Joan likes peanut butter. Though I do remember at one point that was one of the few things Jesse would eat." Said Jay

"I think most kids go through fazes like that. In fact Crystal when she was two would only eat cheese sandwiches without a fight."

"Well she has been pretty good about eating whatever we fix her." Said Jay

"That is good. Crystal after we eat and I take a nap we can go see daddy and maybe you can meet your new baby cousins. Aunt Erin had the twins last night." Said Caitlin

"Ok Mommy."

Joan walked out of the kitchen surprised that to see that Caitlin was home.

"Caitlin, I thought you would still be at the hospital. Lunch is ready there is enough for you as well." Said Joan

"Nora sent me home to get some rest and eat. So what smells so good?" said Caitlin

"Grilled ham and cheese and homemade tomato soup." Said Joan

"Sounds good. I haven't had good tomato soup in a long time." Said Caitlin

"Mommy's comes out of a can. It don't taste good." Said Crystal

"Crystal, that is not very nice to say." Said Jay

"Sorry mommy."

"It's ok honey. The can stuff is pretty bad. But that is one kind of soup I haven't been able to master." Said Caitlin

"I will give you my recipe if you like it." Said Joan

"That would be great."

The four of them headed into the kitchen for lunch.

Eddie headed over to Joe's desk carrying a piece of paper.

"Joe we got a problem. A prison bus on it's way to Iron Heights last night crashed. Iris was on it. All prisoners escaped." Said Eddie

"Damn. We got to find her and get her back locked up." Said Joe

"You don't think she will go after Caitlin again do you?"

"Not if she uses her brain. She isn't going to get a lot of help. Two of her closest friends don't want anything to do with her. Wally has refused to take her calls. I doubt Carson is going to give a damn about her."

"Yeah probably was just using her to try and get to Caitlin. Not that anyone will let her near Caitlin or Crystal. But if she finds out that Barry is in the hospital don't you think she might try and go to him?"

"Remember those buddy's of yours that wouldn't let just anyone into Caitlin's room when she was in the hospital?"

"Yeah what about them?"

"They are now watching Barry's room. Only his family and Caitlin's are getting in. Unless Caitlin or one of the Allen's clear it first."

"That is good I guess. Any word on Barry?"

"He's in a coma no one knows when or if he will wake up."

"Do you know how Caitlin is taking it?"

"Not well. She spent the night next to his bed. Well once she was cleared of injury anyway. She was at Star Labs when the thing blew."

"She is lucky she wasn't killed."

"Eddie don't you know by now that Caitlin is one of the luckiest people to ever live.

"That is true."

Cisco walked into the room of Harrison Wells. He had been injured when the particle accelerator exploded.

"Hey Dr. Wells how are you doing?" asked Cisco

"I am doing as well as I can. How is Ms. Snow?"

"She is just fine. Wasn't hurt at all. But my friend Barry he is in a coma. Got hit by lightning from the storm."

"Any idea what the doctors are saying about his condition?"

"They won't tell me anything. I am not family. His mom is with him. Caitlin was for a while but she went home to eat, rest and see her little girl."

"I see. If Mr. Allen is still the same when I am released then perhaps I can get his parents to have him transferred to Star Labs for us to treat."

"Yeah about that. Not sure that will be possible. The EPA has declared it a high level hazardous site. No one is aloud in without a hazmat suit."

"That is most unfortunate. I am sure I can clear that up once I am out of here."

"Yeah you should know that the other employees I have seen told me that they will never come back there."

"I see. Cisco you should go. I am going to get some rest."

"Sure maybe I will go see if Dr. Allen can get me in to see Barry. Though I doubt he will wake up until Caitlin is by his side again."

"You maybe right."

Once Cisco as gone Harrison cursed. None of his careful planning had gone the way it should have. First it was that other speedster fourteen years ago that stopped him from killing Nora Allen. Then it was Carla Tannhouser moving to Central City after Thomas Snow turned into Icicle. Caitlin Snow and Barry Allen were never meant to be together or have a kid. He remembered when he had asked Gideon about that other speedster. She would only say that no one but her creator had access to that file. Which means that at some point before Gideon was created Barry Allen learned the identity of that speedster using the name the Flash. He was going to find out who the man in the sliver helmet is and kill him. Then once Barry is ready he will make the younger speedster help him return to his time. But he also needed to be the one to train Barry. But that was not going to be an easy task. Not with Caitlin Snow in the picture and her forming a real relationship with her mother. Carla Tannhouser may come off as cold hearted. But she was still a mother bear. Go after her cub and she will destroy you.
