Part 38

Two weeks later

Caitlin had just dropped Crystal off at school and was walking through the hospital as she approached Barry's room she could see Henry and Nora talking with Harrison Wells. She picked up her pace and joined them.

"Dr. Allen, Mrs. Allen. This hospital can not help your son. It is not equipped to do that. Let me take him to Star Labs. I have the most state of the art equipment. I can wake him from this coma." Said Wells

"Dr. Wells last time I checked you do not have a medical degree. In fact you don't even have a degree in any form of biology. You only have multiple degrees in physics and one in engineering if I remember right. My mother is more equipped to care for Barry then you. Besides the federal government has shut your lab down and declared it a level 10 hazmat site. It is still being cleaned up. So what makes you think that you can care for him? My mother has been making arrangements to have Barry transferred to her satellite lab one mile from this hospital. She will have her top people caring for him not only that my mom hasn't burned the bridges you have. Dr. McGee has agreed to loan anyone my mother wants to her." Said Caitlin

"As I was trying to tell you Dr. Wells. We have already accepted Dr. Tannhouser's offer to let her people care for Barry. Not that you will be aloud anywhere near my son in any case. You are the one responsible for him being in this condition." Said Henry

"Dr. Allen, I never intended for any of this to happen." Said Wells

Don't believe him Caity! He knew what he was doing.

Caitlin tried to ignore Frost's voice. But something told her that her icy counterpart was right.

"I don't believe you. I know what you helped my father do both to himself and me. You knew what you were doing. I just don't know why. But when I find out I will make sure that you will pay for what you did to the man I love." Said Caitlin her eyes rimmed with an frosty blue.

Wells just nodded and left the three of them in the hall. Nora watched Caitlin blink her eyes a couple times. The blue faded leaving the warm brown.

"Are you ok Caitlin?" asked Nora

"Yeah. Sorry Frost is getting stronger. I won't be able to keep her back much longer." Said Caitlin

"Maybe, you should let her out. Caitlin, I don't believe that Frost is like the monster that took over your father." Said Carla joining them.

"I think I will later. Mom so is everything set up?" asked Caitlin

"Yes. I think that it will be best to wait until tomorrow for the transfer." Said Carla

"Good. Harrison Wells was trying to get us to move Barry to Star Labs and have him treat Barry." Said Henry

"He is not qualified to treat a snail. Why Thomas trusted that man or that Victor Fries from Gotham I will never know." Said Carla

"Mom, until we can find a way to cure dad we won't know." Said Caitlin

"I am working on it honey. Let me know if you come up with anything. Caitlin, I know the only reason you didn't go farther in your education is because of Crystal." Said Carla

"Mom, I am happy with my career. I like helping people. Besides dreams change. Crystal is one of the best things to ever happen to me. This new baby while far from planned is going to grow up loved. Maybe I was always meant to be a mom."

"I understand dreams change. I am proud of you honey."

"Thanks mom."

Iris sat in the run down motel room watching the news. It had been two weeks since the particle accelerator exploded and she had escaped. The latest report said that the explosion had killed at least a dozen people several of which were employees of Star Labs working that night. Hundreds more injured including the only name she cared about. Barry who had apparently been hit by lightning from the storm that night. She looked up when the door opened and another escapee Shawna Beaz walked in.

"West there are way to many cops out there. What the hell was the explosion." Said Shawna

"Star Labs had some experiment go wrong or something. Nothing that I can understand."

"Well I am going to find a way to get Clay out of Iron Heights and get the hell out of this city for good. Maybe head to Star City or Metropolis for a while. What about you?"

"First I have to destroy that bitch that ruined my life. Then I will leave Center City and never look back."

"Let it go West."

"Not until that bitch is dead."

Shawna looked at Iris and realized that she had truly lost it.

Caitlin sat next Barry's bed. It was getting late so she was going to have to leave the hospital soon and get some sleep. She was just glad that Eddie and Patty took Crystal and Snowbarry for the night.

"Barry, I love you so much. When you wake up I want us to begin our life together. All you have to do is ask and I will marry you. You are the only man I will ever love."

Caitlin stood placed a soft kiss on Barry's forehead and headed out of the room. At the moment of the kiss Barry's vitals which had been bouncing all over the place began to stabilize more. One finger on his right hand also moved for the first time since he had been hit by lightning. Caitlin had just reached her car when she felt a strong arm grab her from behind. She felt a sharp blade of a knife press against her neck not hard enough to cut her. But hard enough to feel the blade.

"You are coming with me bitch. You think that you can just leave me. No women leaves me. The brat can stay with her daddy. You on the other hand won't get away that easily."

"Richard let me go. You are in enough trouble." Said Caitlin

"You are the reason that I lost my job. Now you will pay."

Caitlin tried to fight him but he was to strong. While she was struggling Richard slammed her head hard against her car causing her to slip unconscious. As he threw her into his car he never noticed her phone fall to the ground or that it had been recording him taking her.
