Part 40

Eddie walked through the halls of the Tannhouser auxiliary lab. Dr. Carla Tannhouser had tighter security then he had seen for the mayor. He not only had to show his badge but his identification card with his picture which they then compared to his photo on file. There was a guard leading him to where Barry was being set up. They came to the room and the guard left. Eddie took a deep breath and walked in. He had to do a double take. He had forgotten that Barry's dad was a twin and married to the lookalike cousin of Barry's mom.

"Dr. Tannhouser?" said Eddie

"Detective Thawne where is my daughter?" asked Carla

"She has been kidnapped by Richard Carson."

"Find my daughter or you might not see your children grow up if my son has anything to do with it."

"Detective West and I are working on it."

"Good. I have a feeling that only having my daughter by his side will give Barry the will to wake up."

Just then Eddie's phone rang. He looked at it and stepped into the hall to take the call.

"Joe, have you got a lead?"

"Caitlin just called from the Drake motel on the east side of the city. Carson has been subdued. Didn't say how."

"I might have an idea. I will meet you there. I am at the Tannhouser site they moved Barry to this morning."

"Let Dr. Tannhouser know that we are going to bring Caitlin home soon."

Eddie hung up and walked back into the room.

"That was Joe West. We know where Caitlin is and we are going to get her and arrest Carson." Said Eddie

"Bring Caitlin here for a medical exam. I am sure Henry can take a few minutes to look my daughter over. I know she is going to want to see Barry as soon as she can. I have everything needed to give her a full check up in the next room." Said Carla

"No problem." Said Eddie

He took off down the hall and out to his car. He arrived at the run down motel ten minutes later to find it swarming with cops. He could also see someone being loaded into an ambulance. When he got closer he could see it was Carson with a very large icicle in his leg. He knew then that Caitlin's alter ego had made her first appearance. He walked over to Joe who was talking to Caitlin. As he walked up Caitlin's eyes turned a frosty blue for a moment before returning to normal.

"Crystal is ok Caitlin. Patty's mom is watching her along with my kids." Said Eddie

"What about Barry?" asked Caitlin

"The same. The transfer to your mom's lab went well. I think his Uncle Jay has an idea about what is going on with Barry."

"I would be more surprised if he didn't. I found an old photo of who Nora and Henry call the Flash. The speedster that Nora claims saved her life from the man in yellow. Let's just say the winged helmet if you know what you are looking for does little to hide his identity."

"Well how about you confront him with your suspension and see Barry. Henry Allen has agreed to give you a check up. Your mom set up a place with everything needed to do that in the room right next to where Barry is."

"Sounds good."

"We can go Joe?" asked Eddie

"Yeah we can get Caitlin's statement after she is checked out. Though I do want an explanation later off the record about what really happened. Because I sure as hell am not going to put in any report that Caitlin Snow is an ice meta that froze a guy twice her size."

"Well that is the truth." Said Caitlin

"Do you want to be locked up in a place like Arkham Asylum? Because that is what will happen if I put in a report that you have an alternate personality that may have anger management issues." Said Joe

"Frost only gets angry when someone hurts me or someone else she cares about." Said Caitlin

"Yeah well I just hope she doesn't decide to take her anger at Iris out on me or my son."

"Detective West you and Wally have nothing to fear from Frost as long as you stay on the right side of the law. But know that she is not a killer. She will only kill if it is in self defense or defense of someone else and there is no other way."

"So if Iris goes after you or Crystal?"

"You will most likely find her in the same condition as Carson."

"Won't say that she wouldn't deserve that. You go get checked out and see how Barry is doing."

"Come on Eddie, you are my ride. By the way where is my car?" said Caitlin

"Patty will bring it over to where Barry is. Uh you need to get the screen on your phone replaced. But other than that it is fine. Patty already downloaded the recording of you being taken. That was really smart by the way."

"I already told Joe. I don't remember much about my abduction. I think I had a mild concussion."

"Had? Don't you still have one? I know I am no medical expert. But don't concussions take a day or two to clear up?"

"Frost has ice healing. Meaning any injury we get heals pretty quickly."

"I guess that is kind of cool."

"Eddie, just don't go making Frozen jokes. I might not be able to keep Frost from giving you frostbite."

"You might need to make sure Cisco understands that."

"Cisco, knows better than to piss me off. But instead of frostbite Frost might freeze off his hair. You know how obsessed he is about his hair."

"That is very true."

"Eddie what did you tell Crystal about where I was?"

"Just told her there was an emergency at the hospital you had to help with. Then you were going to make sure her daddy got to her grandma's lab ok."

"Thanks. Crystal is scared that Richard is going to take me from her forever."

"Is your baby ok?"

"As far as I know. I am only about three months pregnant at most. So it is hard to tell. Knowing my mom she will have an ultrasound machine so Henry can check."

"Good. Unless your mom called Charlie he doesn't know you were kidnapped."

"Hope she didn't Erin doesn't need him flipping out on her not with the new babies."

"Yeah."

Eddie parked his car and the two of them headed in.
