Part 45
Crystal walked with her mom to a different room in the building her dad was in.
"Mommy where are we going? This isn't the way to daddy's room." Said Crystal
"Daddy isn't in his room. He woke up. So Uncle Jay and Grandpa Henry are doing some tests. They want to make sure that he is ok." Said Caitlin
"Daddy is awake! Why didn't you tell me sooner?"
"I wanted it to be a surprise. Now wait here while I make sure that it is ok for you to come in."
Caitlin stepped into the observation room to see Barry on some kind of high tech treadmill. She looked at Cisco who was grinning like a cat that got the canary. Then she looked at the monitor. Her eyes went wide when she saw that Barry was running at over 200 miles per hour.
"How is this even possible? Yeah I know that metas have been around for a while. But this is impossible." Said Caitlin
"I assure you Ms. Snow that this is not even the fastest Barry will be able to go with the proper training." Said Jay
"I guess you would know Flash." Said Caitlin
"I always knew you were smart. But when I am done there will be a new Flash in town. But I think that he will have a partner that is his opposite. Don't you?" said Jay
"Yeah well after this baby is born anyway. I think Frost will enjoy taking down criminals." Said Caitlin
I can't wait. Came Frost's voice in Caitlin's head.
"That is good enough Barry. I think your little girl wants to see you." Said Jay into an intercom.
Barry got off the treadmill and came into the observation room.
"Hey Cait did you see that?" asked Barry
"Yes that is unbelievable. Now come out and see your daughter. Don't tell her that I kissed you to wake you up. She was convinced that it was going to be a reverse Snow White thing."
"Well it was. But you are no princess Cait. You are a Queen. Crystal is a princess."
"You are such a charmer Barry."
Barry leaned over and kissed Caitlin then they went out to see their daughter. Barry walked out and knelt down opening his arms to Crystal. Crystal ran into her dad's arms giving him a big hug.
"Daddy, you are ok?" asked Crystal
"I am better then ok princess." Said Barry
"Princess?"
"Well your mom is the Queen of my heart. So that makes you a princess. I mean if that is ok with you?"
"Yes! I like being your princess."
"Love you princess."
"Love you daddy. Love you too mommy."
"I love you sweetie."
Eobard Thawne walked into his time vault and activated Gideon.
"Gideon show me the future."
"Yes Dr. Thawne."
A hologram of a news paper came up. The date on the paper was May of 2024. The headline read CRISIS AVOIDED. FLASH AND FROST SAVE CENTRAL CITY. Thawne read through the article growing more and more angry. There was no mention of the Reverse Flash anywhere in it.
"Gideon is there any reference to the Reverse Flash after today's date?" asked Thawne
"Only one. Six months from the current date. Would you like to see the article?"
"Show me."
A new article came up with the headline.
CENTRAL CITY'S TWO NEW HEROES CAPTURE ATTEPTED MURDERER REVERSE FLASH.
"Last night on the streets of Central City the Scarlet Speedster our very own Flash and his partner the Queen of Ice Frost battled a speedster dressed in yellow. The yellow speedster who has been seen off and on for nearly two decades was given the name Reverse Flash when it became clear he was not a hero like either men who have used the name Flash. It did seem for a short time that the Reverse Flash had the upper hand. That is until Frost sent a powerful ice blast at him knocking him off his feet. After he was cuffed his identity was revealed to be that of Star Labs founder and owner Harrison Wells. It was later revealed that Harrison Wells was the speedster suspected in the attempted murder of Nora Allen, the wife of Dr. Henry Allen founder of the new Central City Free clinic. The attempted murder was stopped fifteen years ago by the senior Flash who has was a member of the Justice Society of America." Read Thawne
"Gideon what is the Justice Society of America?" asked Thawne
"The Justice Society of America or JSA as it was referred was a team of heroes that included The Flash, Green Lantern, Hourman, Wildcat as well as Starman. The team disappeared and was presumed killed my their enemies the Injustice Society of America weeks after the attempted murder of Nora Allen."
"Damn it! When I came back in time I some how jumped universes! This not my Earth! I have no clue what Earth I am on. No wonder my plans have not worked."
Thawne punched the wall. Everything he had done was for nothing. It was now only a matter of time before Barry Allen and Caitlin Snow would capture him and send him to prison for the rest of his life. Unless he could find a way to stop this article from coming true.
The small Snow-Allen family walked into their house that evening and were greeted by their dog Snowbarry who was happy to have all of them home. Barry bent down and scratched the dog behind his ears.
"You miss me boy? I missed you too. You been a good boy taking good care of Caitlin and Crystal?" asked Barry
The dog let out a soft bark and began licking his face. Caitlin smiled then headed into the kitchen with the bags of Chinese they had picked up on the way home. Barry and Crystal soon followed. After dinner Barry tucked Crystal into bed reading her a story. Once Crystal was asleep Barry went looking for Caitlin. He found her in her room. He knocked on the open door waiting for permission to enter.
"You can come in Bare." Said Caitlin from bed where she was reading a book.
"Crystal is asleep. Though it took a bit to get her to settle down."
"Yeah she really missed her daddy. I missed you too."
"Cait, I could hear you when I was in the coma."
"So um you heard what I said I wanted."
"Yes I did. Cait, if you want to keep going slow. I am more then ok with that."
"That is the thing. I don't. My two biggest regrets are running instead of fighting for us. The other not telling you about Crystal sooner. Charlie actually wanted me to tell you from the start. Even when he thought you were scum of the Earth."
"That leaves to question weather I am going back to my room in the basement or….."
"If you think I am letting you leave me alone in this big bed one more night you got another thing coming. Beside since Frost woke up fully I get cold at night. I need a snuggle buddy."
Barry smiled flashed out of the room only to return dressed in only his boxers and a white t-shirt. Caitlin smiled noticing the lightning induced abs Barry now had made the shirt fit a little tighter then normal.
"I might need to get some new shirts." Said Barry
"You could always sleep without one on." Said Caitlin
"Not a chance."
Barry climbed into bed next to Caitlin giving her a passionate kiss. Before both snuggled close falling to sleep in each others arms for the first time in years.
