Part 46

Caitlin woke to the feeling of strong arms holding her. It was a feeling she had not had in over seven years. Even during the time she lived and shared a bed with Richard he never held her like this. He had felt that a man should only be in contact with a woman during sex. In fact the only man that had ever held her like this gently but firmly was the one that had she had believed broken her heart. When it was really the other way around. She had broken his by running instead of fighting for their relationship. She snuggled closer to him. She heard a soft chuckle as his arms tightened around her his hands rest on her pregnant belly.

"I missed this." Said Caitlin

"Me too. I love you Cait."

"Love you too Bare."

"How are you feeling? I mean I have missed most of your pregnancy."

"This pregnancy has been a lot easier then it was with Crystal. I had really bad morning sickness with her. I had been staying with Charlie and Erin for most of it. Erin had to take me to the hospital once to be treated for dehydration. There were a few days I couldn't keep anything down."

"What about this one?"

"Hardly any morning sickness, and what I did have was only a couple weeks after the particle accelerator explosion. But I was also really worried about you."

Just then Caitlin's phone rang. She reached for it answering when she saw Eddie's name.

"Hey Eddie." Said Caitlin answering and putting the phone on speaker.

"Hey Caitlin. Hear Barry is awake."

"Yeah good to hear your voice Eddie." Said Barry

"So you are home. That's great. But there are actually two reasons for my call. First The Green Arrow and Black Canary caught Iris and handed her over to the police. Arrangements are being made to bring her back to Central City. She took an arrow to the shoulder and leg." Said Eddie

"That is good she has been caught." Said Caitlin

"Second Carson was killed in prison yesterday. Head bashed in and stabbed. Patty went to processes the crime scene. She is not in any rush to find out who is the one that killed him."

"Cait, you don't have to worry about him trying to take our son from us any more." Said Barry

"Is it a bad thing that I am not sad that he is dead?" asked Caitlin

"No Caitlin it's not. He hurt you in more then one way." Said Eddie

"Thanks Eddie. For everything you and Patty have done for me in the past few months."

"We are your friends. I may have started out just as your brother's friend. But that changed. I consider you a friend as well."

"Well I am glad to have a friend like you."

"You stay healthy Barry. Don't hurry back to work. Singh hired another guy to help out with the CSI stuff. Not that Joe or I like him. He claims to be a metahuman expert. But as far as I can tell he is nothing but a meta bigot." Said Eddie

"Eddie is his name Julian Albert by chance?" asked Caitlin

"Yeah. Do you know him Caitlin?" asked Eddie

"I uh went out with him like twice when I was living in Midway City a couple years ago. I never let him meet Crystal. He wanted things to be a lot more serious between us then I did. He was also an arrogant jerk. Told me that all metas should be locked up." Said Caitlin

"Yeah well he is much the same way. Caitlin as you know more metas have popped up since the Star Labs particle accelerator exploded." Said Eddie

"I know. If I wasn't seven months pregnant Frost would be out there going after the rouge metas." Said Caitlin

"Well as soon as she can most of CCPD would like the help." Said Eddie

"Well cutie I will most definitely be out there as soon as I can." Said Frost who took over.

Barry looked at Caitlin/Frost wide eyed. This was the first time he had met Caitlin's icy counterpart. They said their goodbyes and Barry watched as Caitlin's hair shifted back to her natural warm auburn from a frosty white and her eyes returned to their warm brown from an icy blue.

"So um your um other personality is no longer blocked?" asked Barry

"Yeah. She likes to be called Frost. Apparently she is a little bit of a flirt. Well when she is not beating the crap out of jerks like Richard Carson."

"When was he arrested? I mean Eddie said he was killed in prison."

"The day you were moved to my mom's lab. He kidnapped me the night before as I was heading for my car to come home to try and sleep. That was when Frost broke free. She beat him up and stab him in his leg so he couldn't get away from the police. Before you ask Iris escaped with several other prisoners when the transport crashed the night of the particle accelerator explosion."

"So she made her way to Star City?"

"Sounds like it. But the Green Arrow and Black Canary caught her."

"Why would they go after Iris? I mean yeah she is a criminal. But don't they normally go after the kind of criminals that are out to destroy their city?"

"Maybe it was a slow night. I don't know. All I care about is that she is locked up again. That she is no longer a threat to our daughter."

"Cait, you do know that I will never let anyone hurt our little girl or our son."

"You already think of Kris as your son? Even though you don't share DNA?"

"DNA is not what makes a family Cait. What makes a family our people that love each other."

"I love you Barry Allen. Now let's go wake up our daughter and take her to Jitters before school."

Barry kissed Caitlin and they got dressed before going to wake up their daughter.

Thawne phased through the wall of a snow covered building. He hated the cold of the arctic. But this was the place that the one person that could help him was. He turned as the man formally known as Thomas Snow walked into the room.

"Mr. Thawne to what do I owe the pleasure of your company?"

"Well Icicle, I have a few problems that I need your help with. As I recall you have another identity. That of Joar Mahkent." Said Thawne

"Yes so what?"

"Wouldn't your daughter be interested in knowing she has a half brother named Camron."

"Leave Camron out of this."

"Would love to. But I have reason to believe that not all the members of the Justice Society of America are dead. In fact I believe that their Flash is still alive. Now you help me kill that speedster after I free you. In return I will make sure that no one learns that Joar Mahkent and Thomas Snow are the same person."

"You will stay away from my son and make sure he and my daughter never learn of each other?"

"Of course."

"We have a deal. Just remember you betray me and you will never return to the future you came from."

"I will kill you before you can do anything."

"Just get me out of here so I can take care of some unfinished business."

Thawne grabbed Icicle and they were gone in a flash of lightning.
