Part 48

Carla sat at her desk and opened the CCTV feed of the old arctic Tannhouser site that her husband was imprisoned at. She scanned through all the cameras. She let out a curse not finding him on any of the feeds. She even checked the ones outside the doors not finding anything. She scrolled back looking to see when he was last seen on camera. She went wide eyed seeing a streak of red lightning enter main room. But it was the face of Harrison Wells that made her blood run cold. She picked up her phone and called her daughter.

"Hi mom." Said Caitlin answering

"Hi honey. How are you feeling?" asked Carla

"Well as well as I can seven months pregnant with a fairly active baby boy growing inside me."

"Charlie was like that too."

"Some how I don't think you called just to check on me."

"No I didn't. It is about your father. He has escaped from his prison."

"How is that possible? Mom, you are the only one that can unlock that building."

"He had help from Harrison Wells. It seems Wells is a speedster like Barry."

"No mom he wouldn't be like Barry at all. He would be the opposite. If you are right about him being a speedster then I think it is possible that he is the one that tried to kill Barry's mom years ago."

"Caitlin why would Harrison Wells want to kill Nora?"

"I don't know. But I am thinking that it was no accident the particle accelerator exploded. I think it was planned. I think everything about that night was planned. Dr. Wells was way to pushy about wanting Barry taken to Star Labs where he would have been the primary caretaker. Dr. Wells has a lot of degrees but none in the medical field."

"That is why I told Henry and Nora not to let that man near their son."

"Did dad know Dr. Wells?"

"I believe so. Caitlin what do you want to do?"

"Well Charlie needs to know. Dad or Icicle or whoever he really is might go after him and his family."

"I will call him. What are you going to do?"

"Whatever I have to. I will not let him come back into my life and destroy my family."

"Caitlin, there is something else I recently discovered. Your father may have been having an affair when you were a child."

"Are you sure?"

"Not really. But when you were eight he did take a number of trips to Blue Valley. I found a news paper article that has a photo of a man that looks much like your dad."

"So you think that dad was cheating on you?"

"I don't know. But seeing as he became a monster that was willing to experiment on you, I wouldn't put it past him. I am beginning to think that I never really knew him. I never even met his parents. He claimed to have had a falling out with them."

"But what if he didn't and just didn't want you to meet them because you would learn that he wasn't the man he claimed to be."

"Honey, I am so sorry about all of this."

"Mom, right now we need to find Icicle and Dr. Wells. If Wells is who I think he is he belongs in Iron Heights. I don't know if there is a statue of limitation for attempted murder. But regardless he belongs behind bars. Even if he can't be tried for trying to kill Nora if we can prove that the particle accelerator explosion was no accident he could go to prison for that."

"For endangering the entire city and the deaths of those that did die from it."

"Yeah. Mom, I should go. Barry and I are going to be picking Crystal up from school soon."

"Ok honey. Just keep an eye out for your dad."

"Trust me Frost is not going to let him hurt me or my daughter. Or my baby. Barry will try to protect me too."

"Just be careful. I love you Caitlin."

"I will mom. Love you too."

Caitlin hung up and turned to Barry.

"Is everything ok?" asked Barry

"No it is not. My dad has escaped with the help of Dr. Wells. Barry my mom has on security feed from where my dad was Dr. Wells using super speed. I think he is the one that tried to kill your mom."

"We will find your dad Cait. If Dr. Wells turns out to be who you think he is then we will bring him to justice." Said Barry

Icicle walked through Star Labs with Eobard Thawne. He did not trust the speedster from the future. Not that he trusted many people. He never even trusted the other members of the Injustice Society that he had been apart of. They had all gone their separate ways after they defeated of the Justice Society of America. He had taken pleasure in driving an icicle into Starman. Unfortunately his stupid sidekick had escaped with the cosmic staff. But there had been no sign of it since that night.

"Tell me Thawne in the future you are from did any of the Justice Society of America ever appear again after their defeat?" ask Icicle

Thawne smirked. He made sure to research this topic in dept.

"No. But I wouldn't be surprised if some of them survived. That is the thing with these so called heroes they don't know how to stay down."

"If I come across any of them or any other newer hero I will end them."

Thawne smiled. He would make sure that Icicle destroyed Barry Allen. Then hopefully Caitlin would embrace her destiny and become Killer Frost. But his main goal was to rid the world of the Barry Allen Flash once and for all. He would return to not only his time but his Earth making sure he tried again to destroy the Flash of his Earth. But taking down this one was good practice.
