Part 50
Two days after Kristopher was born Caitlin was released from the hospital. Barry drove them home where their parents were waiting with Crystal. It would be a couple weeks before they invited anyone else over to see the baby. They walked into the house and into the living room where everyone was waiting. Crystal waited until Caitlin had sat down and taken Kristopher out of the baby out of the carrier before she came over to see him.
"Hi Kris. I am your big sister Crystal. I am going to look out for you until you get big enough to take care of yourself." Said Crystal
Crystal then leaned over and placed a soft kiss on her brother's head.
"Caitlin may I hold him?" asked Carla
"Sure mom." Said Caitlin
Caitlin handed the baby over to her mom. Kris fussed for a moment at leaving his mom's arms. But settled back down once he realized he was safe in another set of arms.
"Caitlin, I have a feeling this little guy is going to be a complete mama's boy." Said Carla
"Would that be a bad thing? I mean as long as it doesn't make him a clingy teenager or adult it should be ok." Said Barry
"Well let's hope he takes after the parents he has raising them. Or he might have to spend a lot of time with Uncle Charlie or Grandpa Henry to learn to play sports. Barry got a C in gym while I got a D in gym. The only class I did not do well in." said Caitlin
"Come on Cait. I think I can handle play catch with Kris." Said Barry
"Barry, you can barely throw a ball to first base from shallow right field." Said Henry
"Dad! Come on I am not that bad." Said Barry
"Sweetie, your dad is right. You were not born to be anything other than a runner. Let your dad or Charlie, or even Eddie and Ronnie teach Kris to play ball if he wants to learn." Said Caitlin
Dropping his voice to a whisper so that Crystal wouldn't be able to hear. Barry spoke in Caitlin's ear.
"Yeah well if he has powers that take after you then you get the job of teaching him to use them the right way."
"You will be in trouble if both Crystal and Kris get ice powers." Said Caitlin
"I know."
Kris started to cry so Caitlin took him from her mom. She felt his diaper and found that it was not wet or dirty. So she figured he must be hungry.
"I'm going to go feed Kris upstairs in the nursery." Said Caitlin
"Can I help mommy?" asked Crystal
"Not right now honey. You stay with daddy and your grandparents."
Caitlin headed upstairs so she could breast feed her son.
"Barry, you do know that Caitlin doesn't have to go upstairs to feed him." Said Nora
"Cait, is not comfortable feeding him in front of other people. She is still a little shy when it comes to others seeing her body." Said Barry
Caitlin came down half an hour later carrying the baby monitor. She had placed Kris down in his crib for a nap.
"He go right to sleep?" asked Barry
"Yeah well he has had a big day. He went for his first car ride. Visited with his grandparents and came home. He is only two days old Barry. So he is tired." Said Caitlin
"Maybe it is time for us to go. You two need to get some rest while you can." Said Nora
"Yeah. But at least this time I am not doing all of this on my own." Said Caitlin
"No you are not. I will be here to help with those 2am feedings or whatever else you need." Said Barry
"Yeah don't forget changing diapers." Said Caitlin
"Of course." Said Barry
Nora, Henry and Carla hugged Barry, Caitlin and Crystal goodbye. They walked out closing the door. Nora turned to Carla smiling.
"Caitlin isn't going to warn Barry before he has to change his first diaper is she?" asked Nora
"Probably not." Said Carla
"You don't mean that Caitlin is going to let Bare find out what happens to baby boys when air hits their groin?" asked Henry
"Yes. Just like I let Thomas after Charlie was born." Said Carla
"And you found out with Barry." Said Nora
"Poor Barry." Said Henry
The two women smiled as they headed to their cars.
Joe and Eddie arrived at the Central City Museum to find scorch marks and ice everywhere.
"What the hell happened here?" asked Joe
"Security footage shows two men and one woman breaking in to steal several paintings. One of the men had a gun that acted as a flame thrower and the other man had a gun that shot ice." Said Patty joining them.
"Do we know who these people are?" asked Eddie
"The two men have been identified as Leonard Snart and Mick Rory. The woman is believed to be Lisa Snart, Leonard's younger sister." Said Patty
"Where did they get those guns?" asked Joe
"Guns matching those descriptions were reported missing from Ivo labs two weeks ago in Star City." Said Julian Albert joining the group.
"Do we know anything else?" asked Joe
"Nothing that will help us find them." Said Julian
Joe and Eddie nodded. Both knew that it was not going to be easy to find the two Snarts and Rory.
When Kris woke up crying a little over an hour later Barry went to get him and change his diaper. Caitlin was resting on the family room couch while Crystal was watching some show on the Disney channel. He picked up the baby and began talking to him.
"Hey little man. You don't need to be that loud. Mommy and daddy aren't going to leave you. Now let's get you a fresh diaper so you can go see mommy and your big sister." Said Barry
Barry laid his son on the changing table and began to remove the soiled diaper. As soon as he pulled the front down he was hit with a stream of pee.
"Kris what did you go and do that for?" asked Barry
The only response he got from the baby was a wide eye look. He turned to the door when he heard a soft giggle. He found Caitlin standing there.
"For real? Really Cait? Why didn't you give me a warning that this might happen?" asked Barry
"Barry, Kris can't help it. For some reason baby boys always lose control when air hits their little body there."
"You could have told me."
"What would the fun of that have been?"
"When did you get this devious side?"
"Maybe you don't know me as well as you thought. Now that you are done with changing our boy's diaper I will take him and you go clean yourself up."
Barry handed Kris to his mother and went to change his shirt.
