Part 54

Caitlin woke in the arms of the man she had loved almost since the day they had met. She snuggled closer to him.

"You do know your feet are like blocks of ice." Mumbled Barry

"Yeah well when we find my father you can blame him. Not that I want to give up Frost for anything."

"Cait, I would never get rid of Frost. She is part of you. Now as much as I love laying here with you our daughter is going to be up soon."

"And she will want to come and see us."

"Yeah it is hard to believe she is almost eight."

"Well if I had only had more faith in you. In our relationship then you would believe it."

"Cait, you need to forgive yourself. I forgave you a long time ago."

"Still working on that. I should get dressed and go check on Kris."

After a deep kiss Caitlin got out her nice warm bed. She went into the bathroom she came out fifteen minutes later dressed in her bath robe hair wet from the quick shower she had taken. She dressed in a pair of jeans and a turtleneck. She was off from the hospital so she could help chaperone Crystal's class trip to the science center. She noticed that Barry had gotten up to go start breakfast. She walked into her son's room to find him wide awake.

"Good morning my sweet boy! How long have you been awake? Were you letting mommy and daddy sleep in?"

He just gave her a smile. She lifted him out of the crib and carried him over to the changing table. While she was dressing Kris in his little Flash shirt that his Grandma Nora had gotten him. Crystal came in.

"Mom, are you packing my lunch for the field trip or am I eating in the science center café?" asked Crystal

"I am making your lunch. You know that you have my peanut allergy and we can't risk either of us getting sick."

"Just checking. Dad said breakfast is almost ready."

"Well your brother is ready so let's go downstairs."

Crystal ran ahead of Caitlin as she carried Kris down the stairs holding him against her hip. Caitlin smiled when she saw that Barry had made eggs, bacon and toast for breakfast. She also noticed some fresh blueberries included. Barry took Kris from her so she could eat her breakfast and pack lunch for both her and Crystal.

"Want me to drop Kris off at my mom's?" asked Barry

"That would be a big help. That way Crystal and I can go straight to school."

"That is why I offered. Cait, you know I love being a dad."

"I know. I am glad your mom doesn't mind watching this guy for us."

"She loves being grandma. She is also going to be happy that you are going to be officially part of the family." Said Barry

"Well she has treated me that way nearly since the day you brought me home the first time."

"Mom, why you wearing that ring?" asked Crystal

Caitlin smiled at her daughter then looked at Barry.

"Well honey. Your dad gave me this ring last night when he asked me to marry him." Said Caitlin

"You and dad are getting married? Like Uncle Charlie and Aunt Erin are?" asked Crystal

"Yes sweetie we are. But it won't happen right away. Your mom deserves to have the perfect wedding." Said Barry

"But you are going to have an important job for the wedding if you want it." Said Caitlin

"What kind of job? Do I have to watch Kris or something?" asked Crystal

"No you won't have to watch your brother. I would like you to be the flower girl. Do you want to have that job?" asked Caitlin

"Yes! Will I get a pretty dress to wear?" asked Crystal

"Of course. Though it might not be as pretty as your mom's dress." Said Barry

"Mom, should have the prettiest dress. But mine can be second prettiest."

Caitlin smiled. She loved that their daughter liked to let others be the center of attention. They finished breakfast and Caitlin packed lunch. An hour later Caitlin parked her car in the parking lot of Crystal's school. The two of them headed to Crystal's classroom where they would meet up with the rest of her class as well as the other class going on the trip. There were thrity students in all going on the trip. Two teachers and two parents.

"Hi Ms. Lewis." Said Crystal

"Hi Crystal. Hi Caitlin." Said Jessica

"Hi Jessica." Said Caitlin

"I knew that you would be one of the parents that would volunteer to chaperone this trip. But I am glad. Science as you know was not my strongest subject in school." Said Jessica

"I remember. Jessica, relax. I know that you only went along with what Iris to get her to like you."

"I want you to know I don't put up with bullying in my class."

"Jessica, you saved my life. I forgave you for what you did. Besides you are part of the reason that Iris is going to spend a long time in prison."

"True. Looks like everyone is here."

Jessica turned to her class.

"Ok everyone. You all know Crystal's mom. Ms. Snow. In a few minutes you and your buddy will line up." Said Jessica

"Ms. Lewis my buddy is in Mrs. Carter's class." Said a boy.

"Steven, I am aware of that. We will stop at her class to pick them up on the way to the bus. During this trip you are to stay with your buddy. You are to listen to Ms. Snow and Mrs. Walker the other mother going the same way you listen to all the teachers in this school. You are to also to listen to the staff of the science center." Said Jessica

The students nodded then when they were told lined up with their buddy. Caitlin raised her eyebrow when she saw that her daughter's buddy was a little boy.

"That is Aaron with Crystal. They have become good friends sitting together at lunch. He is allergic to not only peanuts but all nuts." Said Jessica

"Makes sense they would eat together." Said Caitlin

"Yeah Ricky the boy in the Batman shirt will only eat peanut butter sandwiches. Luckily there is a separate table in the cafeteria for kids with food allergies. I will make sure he stays away from you as well as anyone else who is allergic to peanuts."

"Thanks. I do have both mine and Crystal's epi pens with me and they are labled."

"I wouldn't doubt that."

They headed out to the bus for the twenty minute ride to the science center.

Icicle pulled his hat down to hide his face as he watched his daughter. He was growing impatient with waiting for Thawne to make his move. He was going to go after his daughter and make her embrace the darkness that was apart of her. If she won't embrace the future he planned for her, then he would kill her because she would be no use to him.
