Part 56
Caitlin walked into her and Barry's base after dropping Crystal off at Nora and Henry's for the night. She had explained to Crystal that she had helped Barbara hide while the Flash and Frost fought the metahuman. She could hear Barbara arguing with Batman as she entered the main room.
"This is why the Green Arrow doesn't want to work with you! If you really want to form this team then you are going to have to trust them with your identity. You know their identities so it is only fair they know yours." Said Barbara
Batman just growled at her.
"They have been at it for half an hour." Said Barry
"Well I am fairly sure I know who Batman is. I mean it can't be a coincidence that Batman and Bruce Wayne show up in Central City at the same time." Said Caitlin
"You really think that Bruce Wayne is Batman?" asked Barry
"Yes. Have you ever noticed the gadgets that Batman uses? Those aren't cheap." Said Caitlin
"I would listen to your future bride kid. She is one smart cookie." Said Jay
"Are you saying that I am right?" asked Caitlin
"Do you really think the JSA would have offered him membership if we didn't know who he really was?" asked Jay
"Good point." Said Barry
"Just take off the mask Mr. Wayne. It will go much easier if you do." Said Jay
Bruce grunted as he pulled down his cowl.
"Why do you make things harder than they need to be Bruce? Ok I get you not wanting GCPD knowing who you are. But if you really want this team to work then you have to trust the people you want to work with. You trust me and Nightwing and Robin. Hell even Alfred knows about your nighttime activities. But then again you do need someone to patch you up after run ins will Killer Crock and Baine." Said Barbara
"We will discuss this later Barbara." Said Bruce
"So why are you here? I mean not that we didn't appreciate the help with Icicle." Said Barry
"I am here because I finally have come to realize your Uncle and his friends were right. Sometimes a threat is too big to handle alone. I want to form a team or more actually a league. A group of heroes and heroines that can help each other. I am asking both of you Barry Allen and Caitlin Snow to join." Said Bruce
"Who else is part of this league?" asked Caitlin
"Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern. I am still trying to convince Green Arrow. But he is rather stubborn." Said Bruce
"We still have to meet with both Superman and Supergirl. But Bruce and Superman have a love/hate relationship." Said Barbara
"Why my nephew and soon to be niece?" asked Jay
"Well Jay, I did my research on both of them." Said Bruce
"Actually I was the one that did the research. While Bruce might be good on a computer he is not a good hacker that can get into files without leaving a trace." Said Barbara
"You're Oracle?" asked Caitlin
"You have heard of me?" asked Barbara
"Cisco is obsessed with finding out who you really are. Well you and Overwatch." Said Barry
"I actually do know who Overwatch is. She works with the Green Arrow. But he doesn't trust anyone he doesn't know. So that is why he won't join. Though his partner the Black Canary is going to work on him." Said Barbara
"If Black Canary is who I think she is then I am pretty sure that she will get him to join." Said Caitlin
"Well seeing as she got Green Arrow to take down Iris West and there are very few people that know what she put you through in school I would say you are most likely right about who you think she is." Said Bruce
"We need to think about this. We are still getting our own footing." Said Barry
"Of course. You also have your family to think about. Barbara will give you a number to call when you have your answer. You both have the potential to be true heroes. I am nothing but a vigilante trying to cure my city of the criminal cancer that plagues it. Much like the Green Arrow." Said Bruce
"Thank you. For the help with capturing my father." Said Caitlin
"Caitlin, there is no need to thank us. If you choose to join this league Bruce is trying to put together is so you have other people to call on if you feel you can't handle something on your own." Said Barbara
"But even if you don't join and need help call. We are on the same side after all." Said Bruce
"Of course."
Bruce and Barbara left leaving Caitlin, Barry and Jay alone.
"Jay do you think we should join this team Bruce wants to form?" asked Caitlin
"Well, I can tell you that some of my closest friends were the other members of the JSA. We could never have defeated one of the most evil villains to ever walk the Earth without each other. An evil I hope is never freed again. I think it would be good for the two of you to have a team of people to call on when you need help."
"Cait, why don't we head home and talk about this more?" asked Barry
"Sure. See you later Jay." Said Caitlin
"How about you start calling me Uncle Jay? I mean you are going to marry my favorite nephew." Said Jay
"Hey I am your only nephew!" said Barry
"That is why you are my favorite nephew." Said Jay
Caitlin just smiled. She loved that she was being welcomed into this warm family even after everything that happened in the past.
Thawne was not happy. In fact he was pissed off. Icicle betrayed him by going after his daughter. Thawne knew that Caitlin was never going to join with that ice demon. But by Icicle going a head with his own plans put the carefully laid out plan he had in danger of failing. Thawne went to his safe and opened it. Inside there was a box that he had stolen from ARGUS when he had arrived in this time on this Earth. The box held one of the most dangerous things in existence. Something that he would only use as a last resort. He was not even going to open the box if he didn't have to. The object held in the box was a black diamond and that black diamond held an evil that could not only destroy the heroes of this Earth. But could also destroy the world. The old JSA just barely was able to defeat it. But if it came to it he would find a way to free Eclipso and get the hell off this Earth before it burned.
Yes I just maybe bring Eclipso into this story. You might say the story they are telling with him on Stargirl has inspired me. Which is why I also have mentioned the old JSA.
