Part 57

Caitlin laid next to Barry in their bed. With their kids spending the night with their grandparents the two were enjoying a rare quite night at home. They had picked up take out from their favorite Chinese restaurant and spent a lot of time talking about weather or not to join Batman's team.

"I really think we should do it. I mean even Frost agrees. We are just starting on this journey to be heroes. If we could get the help of people like Wonder Woman or Superman that would be great." Said Caitlin

"I agree. I mean Jay has helped a lot but the more advice we can get the better." Said Barry

"I know what you mean. Even Barbara could help me. There are more male heroes then female ones. So any advice I can get would be a big help. Barry, without Barbara and Bruce I don't think that we could have stopped my dad. Then there is the speedster that tried to kill your mom. He is still out there. I don't know if we can find and stop on our own."

"I know that you are right. So tomorrow we call Bruce and Barbara and tell them that we are in?"

"Yeah. I think it is the right choice. Jay said the other members of the JSA were some of his closest friends."

"Yeah I know. But I am not sure how close of a friend Bruce will be to either of us. I mean he is kind of standoffish."

"He is just the type of guy that doesn't like to admit he needs help. I think that is why the Green Arrow doesn't want to join. It would be admitting that he can't handle things on his own. Even if it is not all the time."

"You are most likely right. But you are normally right about a lot of things."

"I have been wrong about things too."

"Cait, you are not perfect and neither am I. Let the past go. I love you and one thing that has never changed is I want you as my wife. My partner and mother of my children."

"I am the mother of your children. I also told you I will marry you. Barry, you are the only man I have loved. When we met I was hiding my heart behind a wall of ice. I didn't want to let anyone in afraid of my heart being broken. But you put cracks in that ice until you broke it down. Not that I am complaining."

Barry leaned over and kissed Caitlin passionately. It didn't take long before they were making love.

Thawne double checked the database and grinned as he found what he was looking for. The crazy criminal did exist on this Earth. Not that he had much doubt about it. In his study of the multiverse he had discovered that nearly everyone had a doppleganger on each of the known Earths. Now all he had to do was break the crazed murderer out of Iron Heights. It was time that Central City faced the Trickster once more. James Jesse might not be a meta. But he was more then capable of testing the Flash. He puts on his suit and speeds into the prison. Grabs the Trickster and is out in less then ten seconds.

"Well last time I encountered a speedster he was locking me up. So tell me Banana Boy what do you want?" asked James

"I don't know if you have heard. But there is a new Flash in town." Said Thawne

"I heard. You aren't him. Too old. Sort of like that guy with the helmet. Though rumor has it he is either dead or hiding after his friends were slaughtered by the Injustice Society. I still wish they had invited me into their ranks. But it was their loss."

"I want you to do your worst to this city. I want you to destroy the new Flash. But I want you to leave his partner Frost unharmed. I have plans for her."

"I promise nothing. If she gets in my way then it is her own fault."

"You hurt Frost and I will put my hand through your heart and rip it to shreds. That is no trick."

"Ok I will try not to harm your Ice Queen."

"Good."

"Now it is time to have some fun."

"Joe we got trouble. I mean big trouble." Said Captain Singh walking up to his desk.

"What do you mean?" asked Joe

"James Jesse, the Trickster is missing from Iron Heights. Last time he was on the lose he nearly blew a hole in this city the size of the Grand Canyon." Said Singh

"How did you catch him last time?"

"The police didn't. The Justice Society of America did. Flash and Green Lantern to be more specific."

"I vaguely remember them. Didn't they disappear shortly after the attempted murder of Nora Allen?"

"Yeah. Some how I don't think that streak that has been seen is the same Flash as back then."

"I can guarantee that it is not the same Flash. But I have heard rumors that the old Flash has popped up a few times recently."

"Well whichever Flash is protecting this city he better be on his toes. The Trickster may not be as young as he use to be. But he is just as dangerous."

"Right."

Singh walked off and Joe pulled out his phone.

"Eddie, do you think that you can get in touch with Ms. Snow and see if she will pass a message on to the Flash and Frost?" asked Joe

"What makes you think that Caitlin knows the Flash or Frost?"

"I know who the new Flash is. But it would look less suspicious if you go through Ms. Snow. After all you're her brother's best friend, and your wife has become a close friend of hers. Tell them if they are in touch with the older Flash let him know the Trickster is about to be up to his old game."

"Sure. Who is the Trickster?"

"Central City's answer to the Joker."

"That is not good."

"No kidding."

"Call me if you need me tonight."

"I will."

Joe hung up and just hoped that the two new heroes could handle the Trickster before anyone died.
