"Hermione, I need help!" Ginny said, flopping into the chair looking depressed.
"What's up? Please don't tell me about Harry again. I'm sorry if he is a jerk to you. He's a jerk to everybody in a way." Hermione said, finishing up an essay for Professor Snape.
"Well, it does have to do with Harry a little bit. I can't help liking him and even more since he saved me during my first year. But no, it's mainly Neville. He just asked me to the Yule Ball because you refused him and I accepted because it was the only way to get to the ball. So I don't know whether to give up on Harry and go on with Neville. And did someone ask you or do you just want to read a book?" Ginny said with a huff.
Hermione looked at Ginny reproachfully, then looked around the make sure no one was listening. The Griffindor common room was empty but she put a charm around the two in case someone was listening elsewhere.
"I did turn Neville down because I do have a date. No, it's not in the library with a book. But you have to promise not to tell anyone, especially not Ron." Ginny quickly promised and leaned in to understand why Hermione suddenly smiled and blushed.
"Well, Viktor Krum asked me in the library. I know its crazy but he says that I struck his fancy the first time he saw me, mainly because I wasn't shrieking for his autograph. That he'd been thinking of me since the World Cup! What do you think?" Ginny stared at Hermione, who was smiling slightly.
"What do I think? What do I think! Holy Hekate! He's the hottest and most popular guy in Hogwarts right now. Even more than Harry and Cedric." Hermione laughed and said,
"Well, Cedric did ask me too, along with some Ravenclaw Daniel Rake. Then in the library I heard Malfoy talking to Crabbe and Goyle. He's thinking of asking me as a prank. If he does, I swear I'll turn him into a mouse and give it to Mrs. Norris!" Ginny laughed.
"That's crazy though. It's going around that Cedric's asking Cho and Parkinson is giving Malfoy a love potion at lunch that is supposed to last for three months. So there, no fear from Malfoy at least."
"That's a shame," Hermione said, "it would've been funny to feed Mrs. Norris."
