In the middle of desert, there were a large amount of S.H.I.E.L.D. tanks and aircrafts laying in wreck all over the ground, and with the wreckage were a ton of S.H.I.E.L.D. soldiers laying on the ground, unconscious, as there was a large cloud of smoke on the ground, walking out of the smoke was a younger Kyoya, as he had a dead serious scowl on his face, as he scanned the area for anymore soldier.
Then, the sound of a jet engine caught Kyoya's attention, as he turned his head and looked up and sees a S.H.I.E.L.D. Quinjet flying towards him, as it had it's weapons armed and started firing it's mounted machine guns at Kyoya.
Kyoya held his ground, as he didn't even flinch, as the bullets hits him and the ground around him, which causes a large cloud of dust to completely hide Kyoya, the Quinjet then stopped firing, as the pilot takes a look at the cloud, as he couldn't see if he got Kyoya.
But then, leaping out of the cloud, a high speed, was Kyoya, as he was flying towards the Quinjet, as he reaches and lands on the front window of the cockpit, and stared right at the pilot, as Kyoya pulls back his left fist and punches through the window, where he grabs the pilot by the shirt and pulls him through the window and tosses him aside, as he falls to the ground, the Quinjet then losses control and falls towards the ground, smashing into it and the Quinjet explodes.
As the fires from the wreck was burning, Kyoya walks out of the wreckage, unscaved, as he narrowed his eyes as he darted around to see who was left and who was going to fight him.
"Kyoya!" The sound of a familiar voice was heard, getting Kyoya's attention as he turned to the right, where he sees, emerging from the smoke was Reese, without her lab coat on.
Kyoya's angered expression was still married to his face, as he wasn't surprised at seeing his mother here. "I know what you're going to say, and I'm going to save you some time, I fully intent to crush every soldier that S.H.I.E.L.D. will send, until Fury decides to crawl out of the hole he's hiding in and face me!" Kyoya told Reese, with venom in his voice.
But Reese looked at Kyoya, with a straight but grief stricken look, as she sighed, "You have every right to be furious, Kyoya, but look at everything you're doing, do you really think fighting and hurting all of these people will give you some kind of closer." Reese said to Kyoya, with seriousness in her tone of voice.
"I am not letting anything or anyone get in my way, Fury will answer to me for everything, and I assure you, 'Mom', there is nothing you could say will make me forgive and forget." Kyoya told Reese, gritting his teeth in rage.
Reese then sighed, as she looked at her son, with a grief look, as she walks towards Kyoya, as she puts her right hand on his left shoulder, and she took a good long look into Kyoya's eyes. "You're right... you deserve to know everything, and Fury has agreed to have a sit-down, but as long as you stop this rampage now." Reese calmly explained to him,
No, I don't want to hear any more lies, not from Fury and especially not you, when I get my hands on Fury, I will break him in two!" Kyoya ranted, not wanting to hear any more from Reese and focused on killing Fury.
Reese had a greatly sadden look, as she really wanted Kyoya to agree to the sit-down, as she pulls Kyoya in and wrapped both arms around him, giving her son a hug, as Kyoya looked confused, why was she hugging him.
But then, Kyoya felt a sharp prick in his left arm, as he turned to look at it, where he sees Reese's right holding a device with a small vial with strange liquid, with an adamantium-made needle, that pierce through his skin, then all of the liquid gets injected into his arm.
Kyoya's eyes widen in shock, as he then turned to look at Reese, as she had a look of great regret, Kyoya then felt weak and tired, as his eyes started to get heavy, he gritted his teeth, desperately to stay awake, but he slowly lowers down to the ground, as Reese lets him slip out of her arms.
Kyoya hits the ground and lies on his front, unconscious, while Reese stared at him, with a somber look,
"How long will he be out?" The sound of Nick Fury's voice was heard, as he emerges from out of the dust, as he walks over to Reese, as he stared at the KO-ed Kyoya.
"Seven hours at the least." Reese told Nick, coldly, as she turned to look at him, with a deadpanned expression.
"Good, long enough to get him to Greenland," Nick told Reese,
"And you're 100% sure that tank will hold him?" Reese asked Nick,
Fury looked at Reese, with a serious, "I commissioned its design, it'll keep Kyoya in a suspended animation, as long as the tank has the biofluid in it." He explained it to Reese, assuring that Kyoya will be detained,
"Let's move out." Fury said, as he turned and walked away, as a couple of S.H.I.E.L.D. soldiers ran over to Kyoya and picks him out, and carries him to a Quinjet.
While Reese watched them carry her son off, with a worried and fearful look, as she was forced to watch Kyoya be tossed into a cage...
Flash-forward: Present day
Reese opens her eyes wide in shock, laying in her bed with her blanket over her, wearing pajamas, as she just woken up, as the morning light was peeking through a gap in her bedroom's curtains, when was shining on her.
Reese then sits up and had a weary look, as she turned and reached her right arm over to her nightstand, where she picks up her glasses and puts them on.
'Ms. Reese, your breakfast is ready for you, downstairs.' C.Y.T.R.O.'s voice entered the room through an intercom.
"Thank you, C.Y.T.R.O..." Reese said, as she gets out of bed and walks to the door, but when her left hand touches the doorknob, Reese stops, as she couldn't stop thinking about Kyoya, having a flashback of him as a dream, left an unsettling feel for her.
At the Triskelion Island, in the building, within the med-bay,
Flash was lying in his hospital bed, fast asleep, while at his right side, resting her head on the bed, was Kaikaina, wanting to be by Flash's side.
While Jaime was awake in his bed, as A-Bomb was standing beside him,
"So how you feel, Jaime?" A-Bomb asked Jaime, as he had a gentle look,
Jaime gave A-Bomb an amused smile, as he shrugged his shoulders, "Ah, it's been alright, beds are comfy, TV gets decent channels, the only thing that's worrying is Dr. Grey, since we got in here, she's been kinda looming over me and Flash like a vulture." He tells A-Bomb, with a now slightly worrying look.
But then, Dr. Grey pops up from under the bed and stood at the other side of it, which catches both A-Bomb and Jaime off-guard,
"I wouldn't say a vulture, I'd like to see myself as more of a curious little cat, who is greatly intrigue on the subject of aliens, whether it being technology or physiology. And since Jaime's Scarab is alien technology, while Flash's Symbiote is alien physiology, and to have the both of you in my med-bay, under my care, I find it to be an extremely wonderful opportunity to learn about the both of their alien origins, with great scientific curiosity!" Dr. Grey explained in her overly cheery tone of voice.
While A-Bomb and Jaime was more concerned and fearful at the matter of why Dr. Grey was hiding under Jaime's bed...
"Doctor, we need you in the theater." An orderly said to Dr. Grey, needing her to assist with a patient.
"I'M BUSY!" Dr. Grey yelled frustratedly, as she turned to the right, not wanting to get dragged away from her two most scientific patients.
"Uh, Dr. Grey, I'm meanin' to ask, how's Jaime and Flash's recovery going?" A-Bomb asked Dr. Grey on Flash and Jaime's recovery progress, while he had a bit of a nervous look as he really gets scared when Dr. Grey goes 'Crazy Doctor'.
Dr. Grey then turned to face A-Bomb, "Oh, Jaime and Flash's recovery is going great, thanks to Flash's Symbiote's healing factor, he'll be up and about in a few days, as for Jaime, lucky for him, his arms didn't suffer nerve damage or leave third degree burns, thanks to his armor managing to take most of the damage." Dr. Grey explained to A-Bomb, back in her cheery tone.
A-Bomb smiled as that was great news, after seeing how bad their injuries were, he was worried that their injuries would have left permanent damage they could recover from.
"Hey, uh, Dr. Grey, I kinda need to talk to Jaime for a minute." A-Bomb said to Dr. Grey,
"OK," Dr. Grey replies back to him, holding her hands behind her back, and stands there, with a bit of awkward silence in the air, while A-Bomb and Jaime stared at her, with awkward expressions on their faces.
"Uhh, alone..." A-Bomb added, as he needed to talk to Jaime alone, without her.
Dr. Grey gets it and her arms drops, as she was disappointed, as she hoping to scare Jaime a bit into telling her how his Scarab worked and its origins.
"Fine... I guess I've got 'Patients' to heal..." Dr. Grey said, very incredulously and unwilling, as she turned and walked off to deal with some of her other patients.
While A-Bomb and Jaime watches the doctor walk away, both having questionable look, before Jaime turned to look at A-Bomb,
"If you have any good sense, please move me and Flash as far away from her as possible." Jaime tells A-Bomb, nervously, scared and beginning to question on whether or not Dr. Grey is a real doctor.
A-Bomb then turned to look at Jaime, with a slightly serious look, "Alright, Jaime, I need to talk to you about who you fought against." He asked Jaime, now wanting him to tell him about Kyoya.
After finding out that his brother has been under S.H.I.E.L.D. custody all this time, A-Bomb had been racked with hundreds of questions; why was Kyoya detained by S.H.I.E.L.D., why did S.H.I.E.L.D. kept it from him, and more importantly, did Reese know about this?
Jaime had a painful look on his face, as he stuttered to remember, "The guy was... he was way more stronger than me or Flash though, in a weird way, fighting him reminded me of when I fought you, but the only difference was that he was pure rage... the way he fought... as violence as a lion... I looked into his eyes and saw nothing but anger..." Jaime tried to explain to A-Bomb.
A-Bomb has a perplexed expression at hearing about how Kyoya fought and being told that he was feeling nothing but anger.
"And did Fury give you anything more than just saying he was an escaped prisoner?" A-Bomb asked, hoping that Jaime was told more about Kyoya.
But Jaime shook his head, "Fury only said that he was a prisoner that needed to be contained, by any cost; that was all he would give." Jaime tells A-Bomb the amount of information given to them by Nick.
A-Bomb was frustrated a bit, but shook it off, as he gave Jaime a gentle smile, as he puts his right hand on his left shoulder, "Thanks, Jaime, you and Flash get some rest." A-Bomb tells him, which made Jaime smile, as A-Bomb gently patted his shoulder before removing it.
As A-Bomb turns and walks away, heading towards the exit, while Kaikaina lifted up her head, with a tired expression on her face, as she sees A-Bomb walking to the exit, making her stand up, and she turns to look at the sleeping Flash, which made Kaikaina lean in and give Flash a kiss on his left cheek, and she stands up straight and turned to follow A-Bomb out of the med-bay.
Now outside the med-bay's doors, A-Bomb and Kaikaina was standing there, with A-Bomb having complexed expression on his face, which made Kaikaina look up at him and looked at him with a curious face.
"Did Jaime give you anything?" Kaikaina asked,
But A-Bomb closed his eyes and sighed frustratedly, Fury didn't even tell Jaime or Flash about Kyoya and what he was capable of.
A-Bomb opened his eyes, as he knew Nick wasn't going to tell him anything, he had a good gut-feeling that Reese knew this Reese knew this and he was going to get answers.
Hours later, it was middle of the night, in one of the hangers, a Quinjet was sitting in-front of a large row of them, and in that Quinjet, A-Bomb was laying underneath the control, messing with some wiring.
A-Bomb had a focused look, as he stuck his tongue out between his lips, trying to get a grip on the right wires, but it proved to be more difficult due to A-Bomb's large fingers.
"Rick?" The sound of a voice was heard,
Which made A-Bomb jump and lifted himself up, only to hit his forehead against the controls, "Gah!" He barked out, as he leans his head around the control and looked at who was there.
It was Randy, as he was still wearing his normal clothes, and looking at A-Bomb, with a carefree expression,
"Whaddya doin'?" Randy asked A-Bomb, wondering what he was doing in a Quinjet, playing around with its wiring in the middle of night.
A-Bomb had a hesitant look, trying to think of what to say, Randy knew that he was on probation and seeing A-Bomb trying to hot-wire a Quinjet, would definitely give Fury and Washington the means to toss him into a prison cell.
A-Bomb sighed, "I need to talk to my Mom about Kyoya, if he was being locked up by S.H.I.E.L.D.; maybe she was involved with his capture..?" A-Bomb explained to Randy, not going to lie to his friend, he wanted answers about his brother and Reese was the only one who was going to give him answers.
Randy had a look of disbelief on what A-Bomb was saying, "Are ya sure? I mean do you really think that your mom would lock up your brother 'SLASH' her other son." Randy said to A-Bomb,
But A-Bomb lifts himself up and stands up to look at Randy with a serious look, "Kyoya's powers lets him fight for days, without even getting hurt or tired, the only person who would know about how to take him down is Mom, so I'm heading to Manila and Mom is gonna tell me what's going on." He explained to Randy,
Randy then takes a step closer, "But you're still on probation, hijackin' a Quinjet, they are gonna throw the book at ya, and not like one of those '25 pages' books, but a huge crate of phonebooks!" Randy tells him, looking scared,
But A-Bomb was unfazed by Randy's warning, he knew fully well that S.H.I.E.L.D. will want his head on a pike, but he didn't care, if Kyoya was in S.H.I.E.L.D. custody all this time, without his knowledge, and if Reese knows anything about it, he had to know what, no matter the consequences.
Randy just looked at A-Bomb, kinda waiting for an response, but Randy quickly knew that A-Bomb wasn't going to back out now, which also made Randy sigh and roll his eyes, as he walks passed A-Bomb and headed towards the controls, and gets down on the floor, lying on his back and started messing around with the wires.
A-Bomb looked surprised as he knew what Randy was doing, he was gonna hot-wire the Quinjet for him, which made A-Bomb quickly moves over to the control and looked at Randy.
"Randy, stop! I can't drag you into this, this is my family's problems, and I've got to deal with them, myself." A-Bomb urges Randy to stop, as helping him would only make Randy an accessory.
Randy then moves his head down to catch a glimpse of A-Bomb, as he give him a smile, "I know, you've gonna sort things out, I get that, man, I do, but you should ask for help when it came to handling wires, in case ya didn't know, a lot of us has more than three fingers, and plus I heard the Philippines is a pretty hot place with nice beaches, and didn't just been workin' on my abs for sweater season (!)" Randy joked, making it clear to A-Bomb that he was gonna stick by him through what's going to happen.
A-Bomb stared at Randy, before accepting his help and appreciating it, with a gentle smile on his face.
Randy then crosses two wires together and then the Quinjet's engines were brought to life, which made Randy and A-Bomb smile at each other.
As A-Bomb sits in the pilot seat and takes then controls, while Randy sits in the navigator seat, as the Quinjet lifts off the ground and began moving towards the opened hangar doors, once outside, the Quinjet then flies upward into the night sky.
Meanwhile, in Baguio, Philippines,
At a grassy field, where there was a road that stretch far across the land, and walking in the middle of the road, Kyoya walked on it, heading towards Manila, getting closer and closer to Reese.
Then the sound of police sirens was heard, heading towards Kyoya, was two police cars were driving up to Kyoya, stopping in-front of him, blocking the path, but Kyoya didn't stop walking, until he reaches one of the cars, he crouches down and puts his right hand under it, and he lifted up and flips it, as he walks to the other and pushes it aside, out of his way.
The cops inside the cars were holding on to their seats, while Kyoya kept walking, passed them, not letting anything or anyone stand in his way.
The next day, at the Triskelion, inside the SHED,
Metabee, Kaikaina and Julie were sitting on the couch, watching TV, with Chomp sleeping on Julie's lap.
Then, storming into the SHED was Washington, who really didn't look happy, as he quickly marched over to the couch, facing dead-on at the three of them.
"Where's Jones!?" Washington yelled in fury, demanding to know where A-Bomb was,
But Metabee, Kaikaina and Julie were unfazed at Wash's emotion, "Good morning to you too, Wash (!) You want some coffee (?)" Metabee told Washington sarcastically,
Washington then pointed his right index finger at Metabee, "Can the jokes, Shorty! I wake up to get a report from Fury saying that Jones and Cunningham hijacked a Quinjet and flew off to who knows where, and I want to know where they are, right now!" Wash ranted in anger, demanded to know where they are.
Julie, Kaikaina and Metabee all looked surprised, none of them expected A-Bomb and Randy to hijack a Quinjet, knowing fully well that they'll get the punishment of all punishments.
"Hold on, Wash, what makes you think we know where they could have gone?" The sound of Ava's voice was heard, as she was walking up from behind the counch and stared at Washington, with a cold glare.
"I don't think, I know that you learnt something you weren't supposed to and that motivated Jones into doing something stupid, despite him already being on thin ice, so where did they go..." Wash told them, with rising wrath in his voice,
But Kaikaina had an unafraid look on her face, as she stood up and glared at Wash, "We don't know, and if we did, we wouldn't tell you anyway!" She told Wash, coldly,
Metabee then stands up on the couch to scowl at Wash as well, "It's called being a team player, and it's something you wouldn't know the first thing about!" He retorted at Wash, insultingly,
Wash got more angered by this, but before he could say anything else,
"That's enough, all of you!" Centorea's voice said, with a firm tone of voice, from behind Washington, which causes him to turn and see the centaur, with a serious expression.
"Let's not worsen the situation any more than it's already it." Centorea told the team, not wanting them to antafonise Wash to do something they'll regret.
Wash looked at Centorea, before turned his head to the left, looking over his shoulder to look at the team, before he turned away and walked away, walking passed Centorea and exits the SHED.
Julie, Ava, Kaikaina, and Metabee then looked at Centorea, who give them a disappointed scowl. "Matters couldn't be more fragile, and all of you are acting like children, I expect better from you all." Centorea told them, as she turned and walks out of the SHED.
Leaving Ava, Kaikaina, Metabee and Julie there to think over what she said, what's happening isn't going to get any better if they try to fight their allies.
Now outside, Wash was walking in a huff, while Centroea quickly trots to him, catching up with him.
"David, stop," Centorea told Washington, with a somber look on her face,
Wash stops walking and just hung his head, "I'm done, Cerea, I am done dealing with them, done with all of it, I'm marching into Fury's office and demanding that he transfers me outta here and assign someone else to deal with their baggage." Washington stated, making it clear that he's done with being S.P.D. handler.
"David, you can't just give up on them, they're rough around the edges, I'm not denying, but they have shown to be more mature from what most of them have shown." Centorea explains to him, giving a defense for the team.
"That's the problem with you, Cerea, you always defend them, and acting like none of them can do wrong, with each one of them being just misunderstood (!)" Wash retorted back, in a mocking tone of voice,
But Centorea only gave a disappointed frown at Wash, as she shook her head, "Why are you always mad at them?" She asked, just really wanting to know.
"Why aren't you ever mad at them!?" Wash tosses back at her,
"Because I think there's nothing to be mad about!" Centorea yelled,
"We're at war, and in war, if there's so much as one soldier who is unwilling to fall in line, and the war is already lost." Washington explains,
"Yes, Wash, we're at war, but I told you before, they are not soldiers, they're only children, and they made it their duty to stop Taskmaster and protect others and their teenagers, you tell me if that's not true commitment." Centorea replied back,
"They gave classified information to the enemy; I serious don't need to remind you of the gravity of that situation." Wash told him her, not wanting to bring it up again.
"They want more than anything to stop Taskmaster, but not if it means putting the lives of innocents on the line, especially when it's the life of a friend." Centorea tells him, giving a grim stare, reminding Wash that they did it to save Alice.
But Wash scoffed at that, "In this line of work, the safety of thousands among millions is put first before anything else, even if it means the loss of the life of one. Those... Kids refuses to accept it, instead they throw a huff and shut out any parent-aged adult and keep quiet on where their little friends are." Wash ranted,
Centorea threw her arms looking frustrated, "David, it's called loyalty to their teammates, to their friends, something you just can't understand or respect!" She said, as she had a disappointed frown, as she gives up with him and turns to walk away.
Leaving Washington standing there, watching Centorea walk away, thinking about what she said, where a team hold strong together... something he might have forgotten...
Flashback: 14 years ago
In an S.H.I.E.L.D. base, at a training course, there were four teams of three running the course,
In first place ahead of the rest of the runners, was a young 13 year old Washington was struggling stay ahead of all of them, as they hit the final lap, and the finish line was getting closer, they all reached a small gap in the ground, as there were four sets of rope hanging over the middle of the gap.
Wash sees a rope and ran towards it and once he reached the edge of the gap, he jumps and stretched his right hand to grab the rope, but unfortunately, someone else's hand grabs the rope, pulling it away, causing Wash to fall into the muddy water and hitting the other side of the edge of the gap.
Wash stayed down, as the rest of the runners' jumps and swings over him, once all the runners pasted, him, Wash quickly tried to climb out of the water, but the edges were too wet and muddy, and Wash couldn't climb out.
But then, two hands were stretched out at Wash, making him look up and see that thoses hands belongs to a 14 year old Nico Robin and 17 year old Lawrence, as they stayed behind to help their teammate out.
"Come on!" Lawrence told Wash, with haste in his voice,
Wash then quickly took both of their hands and Robin and Lawrence pulls Wash out of the mud and out of the gap, once he was out, the three of them all quickly ran to the finish, even though the rest of the teams already crossed it.
As the other teams were congratulating each other, Wash, Robin and Lawrence crosses the line, losing the race.
Wash sees the other cadets and then hung his head in shame for causing his team to lose.
Robin put her left hand on Wash's right shoulder, causing him to turn his head to look at her, as Robin gave him a gentle look. "Stop with the 'Poor ME's, we finished it, that's something at least." Robin said to Wash, with a small smile forming.
But Wash shook off her hand, as he turned to face her, "Don't give me that, you know that the team that comes in last, has to clean the training clothes and wax the jeeps for a month, and we lost cuz' of me, you guys shouldn't have waited for me..." He told Robin and Lawrence, as he turned and walked off,
Robin and Lawrence watched as Wash walked away, while Lawrence crossed his arms, and his expression was impossible due to his helmet covering his face, Robin had a concerned look,
Flash-forward: Present
In Manila, in Reese's house, she was in her study, as her desk, deep in thought, but then, C.Y.T.R.O. opens the door, which made Reese look it the robot.
"A S.H.I.E.L.D. Quinjet is landing on the street." C.Y.T.R.O. tells Reese,
Reese had a slightly exhausted look, as she knew who it was,
Outside the house, the Quinjet was on the road as a lot of the neighbors got out of their homes to see the jet parked outside their homes.
The cargo door opens and A-Bomb and Randy exits, where they see Reese standing in front of her house, looking at them with a serious expression, as the two teen heroes walked up to her.
Randy walks up to her, with an exaggerating look. "Hi, Dr. R, there's a prison escapee on the loose and seein' what he did to two of our own, sources say that he's pretty upset (!)" Randy tells Reese,
While Reese kept her serious look, before taking a deep breath and had an excepting look, "Not at all surprising, and believe me, I deserve what's coming..." She told them,
A-Bomb then steps in, with a frustrated look, as he looked at Reese, "Mom, what's going on?" He asked her, demanding to what all of this is about.
Reese looked at her son, with a dead-panned expression, "Come inside, I'll tell you everything." She said, as she turned and walked to her house, with Randy and A-Bomb following.
Inside the house, in the dining room, Reese was sitting at one side of the table, with A-Bomb sitting at the other side.
"I helped S.H.I.E.L.D. in capturing Kyoya and having him locked and contained in Greenland." Reese tells the two of them, with a straight face,
A-Bomb looked angry, "And you and S.H.I.E.L.D. felt that it was completely unnecessary to tell me about it!" He yelled at Reese,
"You were already apart of S.H.I.E.L.D., if either one of us had told you, you would've responded with violence's." Reese said, with a slightly more serious look.
"So, you thought that keeping it from me, I understand S.H.I.E.L.D. keeping it from me, but you, from your own son?!" A-Bomb retorted, with a frustrated and slightly hurt expression on his face.
Reese didn't said anything back, and there was a moment of total silence between the mother and son, as A-Bomb calms down just a bit,
"So, how is Kyoya tied in to all of this?" A-Bomb asked Reese, wanting to know why Kyoya was in S.H.I.E.L.D. custody.
Reese sighed, "Your brother was on a warpath against S.H.I.E.L.D.; he wanted to destroy by taking out Fury." She explained,
"Why?" A-Bomb asked, narrowing his eyes in confusion,
Reese looked at A-Bomb, with a greatly hesitant look, "I can't tell you, Rick, I'm sorry but I can't tell you now, but I swear, when the time comes, I will." She explained to him, with a pleading look.
A-Bomb was angered further, but knew that the 'Why' isn't important,
"But whatever it was, it made Kyoya declare war against S.H.I.E.L.D. and it was enough to get him locked up, which still raises the question I want an answer too... How long has Kyoya been on ICE?" A-Bomb said to Reese, with a dead serious expression on his face

But Reese kept quiet for a bit, with a straight face, which made A-Bomb stand up, putting his hands on the table and leans in closer to Reese, with a demanding expression on his face.
"Mom, how long has Kyoya been on ICE!?" A-Bomb repeated his question, demanding her to answer.
Reese looked at A-Bomb, before she sighed and hung her head down in shame, and gives her answer,
"Four years..." She told him,
A-Bomb's eyes widen in shock and total speechlessness, as he pulls his head back, take a step back, turning around and walked over to a wall, with a speechless look, trying to process it.
"Four... YEARS!?" A-Bomb roared out in fury, as he punches his right fist into the wall, smashing through it, as Reese was unfazed by it. "Kyoya's been in lock-up for four years and you never told me!" He yelled,
A-Bomb slowly turned his head to the right and looked over his shoulder, to look at Reese, who looked back with guilt on her face.
Outside, at the backyard, Randy was sitting on a porch swing, while C.Y.T.R.O. was standing before him, where Randy takes a good look at him.
"So, any reason Rick's mom has a military grade attack robot as a personal secretary?" Randy asked, trying to make conversation.
"I was appointed to Dr. Drake from director Fury, sixteen years ago, to protect her, Rick Jones and his siblings , with the majority or those years, Dr. Drake in trusted me in taking care of her sons and daughter when she was active in her work." C.Y.T.R.O. explained to Randy,
Randy, had a disbelief expression, "Wait, are you tellin' me that you're Rick's nanny?" He asked, caught off-guard that a military grade attack robot was A-Bomb's nanny.
Back inside the house,
"So, all of this, this complete chaos, two of my friends being brought home on stretchers, all of it, because of you and Fury..?" A-Bomb said, with a somber look on his face, reflecting to see if he got everything down to a T.
Reese sighed as she removes her glasses and puts them on the table, "Not a day goes by when I wished there was another way I could help Kyoya, I do, but Fury didn't give me much options, putting Kyoya on ICE was the only way I could make that he was contained and safe, with Fury, every plan he devised against Kyoya in each one of them, he would been killed, meeting a grim fate in each one of them, either being gunned down a hundred times over by a fleet of Helicarriers or banished to the deepest and furthest parts of space... I saw no pleasure in doing it; I had to insure that Kyoya wouldn't be harmed by S.H.I.E.L.D. and him not harming anyone." Reese finished, as her emotion changed to guilt to plead,
"I know you can never approve or forgive me for what I did, but please at least understand it..." Reese said,
A-Bomb scowled at Reese, he was angry at her for keeping it a secret for four years, but thinking at how Reese only did it to keep Kyoya safe, but it still didn't make up that fact that she lied to him, her son.
But then, a loud smashing sound came from outside, which got A-Bomb and Reese's attention, as they turned to look outside, as Randy quickly enters the room, with a panic look on his face.
"Uh, not jinxin' it or anything, but I think Kyoya has just arrived..(!)" Randy mentioned, nervously,
Outside, a police car was tossed into the air, before crashing into the road, while Kyoya was walking down the road, towards Reese's house, with a laser focused seriousness.
As he reached the sidewalk, C.Y.T.R.O. flies in on his jets, landing in-front of Kyoya, making him stop and glare at the robot,
"Get out of my way, C.Y.T.R.O., only warning..." Kyoya threaten him, as he won't his relationship with him get in the way with his revenge.
C.Y.T.R.O. then lifted up his right arm cannon and aimed it at Kyoya, "Apologizes, Kyoya, but I cannot let you bring harm to Ms. Reese." C.Y.T.R.O. told Kyoya, not backing down.
Kyoya's frown then curves a bit into a smile...
Inside, C.Y.T.R.O. smashes through the wall, flying through the house until he lands and crash on the table of the dining room, breaking the legs, as his right arm was torn off, while Reese was standing before the damaged robot, as she looked up with a shocked look.
Walking through the hole in the wall, while holding C.Y.T.R.O.'s torn arm, was Kyoya as he glares daggers at Reese.
"Mom... Aren't you gonna welcome me home (?)" Kyoya said to Reese, coldly, as he began to walk towards her.
Reese have a brave face, as she slowly walked backwards, away from him, "Kyoya, please, this doesn't have to end badly, you hate me, I get it, I'm not arguing against it, but I only acted to protect you." Reese tried to explain to Kyoya to calm him down.
But Kyoya was only angered more by what she said, "'Protect me'..? PROTECT ME!? I ROTTED IN THAT FISH TANK FOR FOUR YEARS, ALL BECAUSE YOU!" Kyoya roared for in complete fury, as he gets closer and closer to Reese, as he tosses C.Y.T.R.O.'s arm away.
Reese stops walking, and just stared at Kyoya, "So what are you going to do..?" She asked him, with a straight face.
Kyoya clenches his fists, "What do you think (?)" He replied, as it's clear that he going to kill her.
Reese stared at Kyoya before she looked ahead, and sees something that made her widen eyed and quickly ducks, as A-Bomb, donning his flight gear, tackling Kyoya from behind, catching him off-guard, as the two brothers fly into a wall, smashing through it.
Now outside, A-Bomb had his arms wrapped around Kyoya's stomach, and flew upward, high into the air, flying off.
Quickly walking through the hole in the wall, Reese and Randy looked up and see them fly off.
Randy turned to look at Reese, "Where they goin'?" He asked her, looking confused.
Reese had a serious look on her face, "Rick's getting Kyoya away from civilians..." She told him, as she turned to look back at Randy, "Come on, we have to catch up with them." She told Randy as she turned and ran back into the house, with Randy following.
High in the sky, A-Bomb flew higher and higher, before Kyoya turned his head to look at A-Bomb and then wrapped his right arm around the back of his neck, and violently shaking it, which made A-Bomb try and keep his grip on Kyoya, gritting his teeth, Kyoya then releases his arm on A-Bomb and then punches his right fist into A-Bomb's back thruster pack, punching through it, which causes A-Bomb to lose control, and the two of them plummets down to the ground below, where they crash into a open field, tearing a trail in the middle of it.
A-Bomb and Kyoya were lying in the middle of the field, before Kyoya gets back up, as did A-Bomb, while he takes off his damaged flight gear,
Kyoya glares at A-Bomb, "You just made the stupidest mistake of your life, Blue Boy..!" He told A-Bomb, clenching his fists, ready for a fight.
A-Bomb then raised his hands up, with a defensive look, "Kyoya, wait! It's me, Rick Jones, your brother." A-Bomb tells him, trying to avoid a fight,
Kyoya's angered expression then immediately changes to a surprised expression, as he widen his eyes in shock at hearing him say that he was his step-brother. "Rick..?" He uttered in confusion, as the last time he say his brother, he was just Rick Jones, but seeing him now, as A-Bomb, a large, armored skinned blue hulk like being, saying that he's his brother.
A-Bomb had a gentle look, as he nodded, "Yes, it's me." He said, assuring him that he is Rick.
Kyoya calms down a bit, as he release his fists, but kept that confused expression, as he takes a good look at A-Bomb, "What happened to you..?" He asked A-Bomb, really wanting to know how A-Bomb became how he is.
A-Bomb drops his arms, and just shrugged his shoulders, "Eh, you know, wander into a gamma bomb testing field, got a huge shower of gamma rays." He explained, in a nonchalant look.
Kyoya then ran his eyes up and down on A-Bomb, before giving a chuckle and smirk a bit, "You've had a major growth spurt, wouldn't you say, little brother (!)" Kyoya joked, as he found it funny that before Rick became A-Bomb, he was lacking in height, but now he stands bigger and taller than Kyoya.
A-Bomb then puts a small smile on his face, "Yeah, well, some would say that a huge dose of gamma radiation would be harmful for some, but some like us are lucky to just walk away from something like that, often living large..." A-Bomb tells him, awkwardly,
"'Living large'.. (?) Try alone! Locked up in a display case like an animal, powerless to do anything as you watch the years go by!" Kyoya told A-Bomb, now angered again,
A-Bomb had a cautionary face, "Look, I know what Mom did, what she had to do..." He tells him,
"Is that the kind of lie she's been feeding you!? She took four years of my life! FOUR YEARS! I'll never get back, all because she was in pocket deep with S.H.I.E.L.D. and Fury!" Kyoya retorted,
"I'm not denying that what Mom did was noble, but she only did it, cause Fury would've stopped at nothing to kill you, she did it to keep you safe." A-Bomb tried to explain in Kyoya, reasoning with him,
Kyoya narrowed his eyes at A-Bomb, "You don't get it, you don't know what it was like in that tank, after being awoken up, it was like just walking up from an sleep that lasted only a few hours, only to find that years have passed and the only memory before it is the moment that the person who you trusted, stabs you in the back. You and anyone else can never understand what that feels." Kyoya explained to A-Bomb, bitterly and coldly.
"I get it, you have every right to be angry..." A-Bomb tells Kyoya, with a straight face,
"And yet you judge me!" Kyoya snapped at A-Bomb,
"I'm not, the only person who can judge you is yourself, but I am telling you that what you were about to do is something you can't do, despite what she did, Mom still raised us, cares and loves us..!" A-Bomb pleads, remaining Kyoya of the childhood with Reese raising him, A-Bomb and their sister.
But Kyoya shook his head, as he chuckled a bit, "Still so preachy, little brother, she didn't tell you..?" Kyoya said, in a mocking tone of voice.
A-Bomb raised his right eyebrow with a hesitant and confused look. "Tell me what?" He asked, not knowing what he was talking about.
Kyoya smirked as he raised his head up to look at A-Bomb, "I'll leave you to find out on your own, but right now, I have unfinished business with Reese..." His smirk immediately disappears into a scowl.
But A-Bomb stood his ground, having a serious look on his face, "You know I can't let you do that." He told him, making it clear that he wasn't going to stand idly by and let him hurt Reese.
Kyoya's glare did not leave his brother for a second, "You know that you're free to try..." He told A-Bomb, threateningly, as he clutches his hands into fists.
Then, Kyoya charges at A-Bomb at full speed and delivers a powerful right punch to A-Bomb's torso, sending him backwards, as he tried to keep his balance, he stands up straight, while glaring at Kyoya, as his punch didn't hurt him at all, much to Kyoya's surprise.
"What you hope to gain from all of this, closure? Pay back? A moment to feel a little better, you have to do all of this just for either one?" A-Bomb tells Kyoya,
But Kyoya gritted his teeth and charges at A-Bomb, tossing his left fist at him, but A-Bomb quickly steps to the right, dodging the punch, Kyoya then shifted his body and tosses his right fist, as A-Bomb shifts to the left dodging again, A-Bomb then raised up both his arms over his head and strikes both fists down, where they hit Kyoya's shoulders, smashing Kyoya down, but he gritted his teeth, as he stood his ground, as his feet creates a small crater. Kyoya then smacks A-Bomb's it's off of him, and he then tackles A-Bomb, knocking him off his feet and to the ground, Kyoya was on top of A-Bomb, and he then delivers a series of punches to A-Bomb's face, until he manages to quickly catch Kyoya's left fist in his right hand, and A-Bomb head-butts Kyoya sending him flying a few feet away.
Kyoya tumbles a bit, while A-Bomb gets up and runs at Kyoya, where he laying on his back, A-Bomb reaches him and pulls his right fist back and swings it down at Kyoya, but he quickly rolled to the right and dodges A-Bomb punch, as his fist smashes into the ground, Kyoya gets back on his feet and he delivers a left punch to A-Bomb's face, knocking him back, but he shakes it off and replied back with a right punch to Kyoya, knocking him back as well, Kyoya and A-Bomb then charged at each other, as A-Bomb tosses his left fists, as Kyoya tosses his right, but both fists misses each other and they punches each other's faces, which knocks the two brothers away from each other at a great feet.
A-Bomb and Kyoya were pacing a bit, while a bit, while from distance, Reese and Randy were watching their fight,
Reese had serious look, as she looked at her two sons, "Rick and Kyoya are equally matched, this fight could go on forever." She stated, knowing that A-Bomb and Kyoya are the same when it comes to strength, stamina and durability.
Randy turned his head to look at Reese, with a confused look, "Until what..?" He asked, if A-Bomb and Kyoya are equals in this fight, how will it end?
A-Bomb and Kyoya charges at each other, where the two of them clashes, with Kyoya holding A-Bomb's forearms, holding them back, as the brothers scowling at each other.
But then, a red X flies in and digs into the ground, between Kyoya and A-Bomb, right at their feet.
A-Bomb and Kyoya heard the thing fly in and both looked down at it. "Huh?" They both said, in confusion.
But then, the X explodes, knocking A-Bomb and Kyoya a good distance away from each other, and they both hits the ground, lying on their backs.
Randy looked shocked, while Reese had an unfazed look, "Until something like that happens." She pointed out,
As the dust cleared, A-Bomb and Kyoya pushes themselves back up,
"It's been fun watching the whole family drama, but it's now gotten boring..." The sound of a familiar voice was heard, that walked out of the dust, revealing to be Red X.
Both Randy and A-Bomb were surprised to see him, while Kyoya was confused on what he was doing here.
"You again? I already told you that whatever little club you're putting together, I don't want to be a part of!" Kyoya told Red X, pointing his right index finger at him, making it clear that he wasn't going to anywhere with him.
A-Bomb immediately puts it together that Red X was the one who released Kyoya, and when Red X is involved, it screams Taskmaster.
"Ehh, it was never the intention of joining us, you were meant to keep S.P.D. distracted but after seeing that brawl you had against Blue Beetle and Agent Venom, Taskmaster now thinks you're more valuable on our side." Red X explained to Kyoya,
Kyoya got more confused, but A-Bomb knew that Taskmaster had one of his camera-bots tailing Kyoya the whole time, and with that, Taskmaster also saw Kyoya display of power when he fought Agent Venom and Blue Beetle, someone like Kyoya, with his strength, immune to pain and violent animal like rage, maybe a great asset to Taskmaster's army.
Then running up at super speed, reaching and stopping next Red X, was Black Velocity, and flying in, planting her feet on the ground, standing on the other side of Red X, was Garnet, holding a spear in her right hand, as Vanguards stare down at A-Bomb and Kyoya.
A-Bomb's face was smacked with shock at seeing Garnet was with the Vanguards, and in turn, on Taskmaster's side.
Red X then turned his head to look at Garnet, as he had his arms crossed, "Take him." He told her,
And Garnet quickly aimed the blade of her spear at them, and it fires a beam of energy and it hits A-Bomb, knocking him off his feet, making him hit the ground, before Kyoya could react, Black Velocity quickly appears, where he delivers a right punch to Kyoya's face, Kyoya then swings his left fist at Black Velocity, but he moves at high speed, dodging his punch, as Kyoya on hit an afterimage, Black Velocity then appears behind Kyoya, where he does a fast barrage of fast moving punches, hitting Kyoya's back, Kyoya then shifted his body around, and swung his right arm at Black Velocity, but once again, Black Velocity dodges again, and then begins to run around Kyoya at super speed, creating a whirlwind with Kyoya in the center of it.
The air around Kyoya was starting to get thinner, making it harder and harder to breath, which then bought Kyoya to his knees, as he was struggling to breath, but Kyoya then lifted up both his arms, over his head and then swings his fists down and smashes the ground at full force, making the ground shatter into large pieces, getting knocked out of place, which causes Black Velocity to get knocked off his feet and tumbles on the ground, the whirlwind subside, Kyoya was able to catch his breath, as he gets back up.
Black Velocity sits up and looked at Kyoya, as he stood before him, glaring down at him.
"Come on, lion boy, why fight? You were made for the Vanguards, with you on our team; we'll be a force to be feared." Black Velocity explained to Kyoya, trying to sway him into joining the Vanguards.
But Kyoya's scowl didn't changed, "I only for myself, I don't owe favors to anyone, even if you broke me out of prison, I'm not your dept." He told Black Velocity, making it clear he has no intentions in joining them.
"Too bad..." Black Velocity muttered, as he moves and disappears out of sight,
Kyoya turned and look to see where Black Velocity went, where he sees him, standing before him, with his right arm sticking out and pointed at Kyoya, Black Velocity begins to spin his arm in a tight circle, at high speed, which creates a tornado and it flies and hits Kyoya's chest, Kyoya gritted his teeth, as he tried to hold his ground, but the wind was starting to push him back, until he loses his footing and gets lifted up into the air, making Kyoya spin mid-air.
Meanwhile, A-Bomb was getting back up, as he looked up and sees Garnet, flying towards him, as she thrusts her spear forward at A-Bomb, A-Bomb quickly leaps out of the way and Garnet's spear head hits the ground, causing a huge pulse of energy, A-Bomb rolls on the ground, before quickly getting back up on his feet, as he stands battle ready, while Garnet pulls her spear from out of the ground, and turned to glare at A-Bomb.
"You're rollin' in Taskmaster's crew?" A-Bomb said to Garnet, with a confused expression,
"Had I'd known who you and Ava were, I would have struck the both of you down right in that church." Garnet told A-Bomb, threatens as she holds up her spear, ready for battle.
Garnet then spread her wings and flew at A-Bomb, thrusting her spear, but A-Bomb quickly leaps to the left and dodges, as A-Bomb watches Garnet fly upward, falling towards A-Bomb from behind, was Red X, with both his X knifes in each hand, preparing to strike A-Bomb down, but A-Bomb turned and looked up, and sees Red X, and reacted by quickly grabbing Red X with his right hand before he could strike, in mid-air, while holding Red X by the collar bone.
A-Bomb glares coldly at Red X, as he pulls him closer to his face. "How did you find us?!" A-Bomb told Red X, demanding to know how the Vanguards found them.
Red X had an unfazed look in his eyes, as he looked at A-Bomb, "You told us where..." He tells A-Bomb, with a mocking tone of voice, which made A-Bomb looked confused, what did Red X mean by 'You told us'..?
Red X then teleports out of A-Bomb's grips, making A-Bomb looked around to see where Red X disappeared to.
But then, a beam of energy hits A-Bomb from behind, knocking him to the ground, he then pushes himself up and sees Red X, aiming his right palm at A-Bomb, ready to blast him.
But then...
"NINJA KICK!" The cry from the Ninja, who leaps in and delivers a right kick to Red X's stomach, knocking him away from A-Bomb, and Ninja stood in front of A-Bomb, ready for battle.
A-Bomb gets back on his feet, and looked at Ninja with a serious look, "Randy, you're still healing, you can't put any more stress on your body; stay out of this!" A-Bomb told Ninja, as Ninja wasn't strong enough and couldn't put his body through a fight, without risk of injuring himself even more.
Ninja then turned his head to look over his right shoulder, looking at A-Bomb, "I'm strong enough to fight, besides, it's Taskmaster's personal attack dogs, two are better than one." Ninja stated that he was going to help A-Bomb in fighting the Vanguards.
Then a beam was fired from above from behind A-Bomb, which made A-Bomb and Ninja quickly jumps out of the way, with A-Bomb jumps up to fight Garnet, while Ninja sprints towards Red X.
Red X sees Ninja, as he takes out his chain scythe and swings it at Red X, but he ducks the chain with ease, Ninja then pulls on the chain and swings it upward, but Red X side-steps to the right, dodging again, Ninja crouches down and spins his body in a full 360, with the chain being swung again, but Red X leans, turning his whole body in a 360 as well, leaping over the chain, before landing on his feet, Red X puts his hands behind his back, with an unimpressed look, while Ninja gets up and tosses the scythe end at Red X, but he simply moves his head to the left, and the scythe flies passed him, Red X then quickly grabs the chain with his right hand and with a powerful pull, he pulls Ninja off the ground, towards him, where he lets go of the chain and delivers an swift left kick to Ninja's face, knocking him away, as Ninja tumbled on the ground.
Ninja laid on the ground, on his front, before he slowly pushes himself, where he looks up and sees Red X standing before him, with his hands still behind his back.
"I know that you're still recovering from your fight with Taskmaster, but this is just a new display of pathetic." Red X told Ninja, coldly,
Ninja narrowed his eyes, as he plants both palm on the ground, "Ninja Quick Recover!" Ninja yelled out, as he pushes and launches himself off the ground, and lands on his feet, and tosses his right fist at Red X, but he quickly blocks it with the back of his left hand, Ninja then threw his left fist, Red X shifts his upper body to the right, as Ninja's fist passes him, Red X then grabbed Ninja's arm with both hands and quickly turns his body around to pull on Ninja's arm, flipping him over his shoulder, but Ninja manages to land on his feet, in-front of Red X, where he lets go of Ninja's arm, and Ninja then quickly jumps up and spins his right leg to do a spinning kick, but Red X ducks and slides under Ninja, dodging his kick, once Ninja lands, he throws his left elbow backwards at Red X, but he turns around and catches the elbow in his left hand, before delivering a right side kick, hitting the left side of Ninja's stomach with great force.
Ninja is knocked off his feet and falls to the ground, as he had a look of pain in his eyes, as he had his hands on the area of his stomach where Red X kicked him, as Ninja was laying on the ground, on his front.
Ninja then lifted up his head and looked up at Red X, as he was glaring daggers at him, "Why do this..? Why steal the Red X suit? What does Taskmaster have on you?" Ninja asked Red X, wanting to know why he's doing all of this for Taskmaster, what were his motivation?
Red X narrowed his eyes at Ninja, "I've got nothing to explain to you! I do what I have to for me and me alone! And don't, for a moment, underestimate me, I'm just as dangerous without the suit, I just wear it to play with its toys, I mean you should know how fun they are, after all, they use to be your toys (!)" Red X told Ninja, as pulls out a handful of X's and holds them in his left hand and lets them fly.
Ninja's eyes widen, as he quickly rolls to the right, dodging the Xs, as they hits and digs into the ground, Ninja gets back up on his feet and raised up his fists, still willing to fight.
Red X was a surprised at seeing this, even when injured, Ninja isn't gonna give up, but this made Red X decide to go from defense to offence.
Red X then charges at Ninja, who then throws a right punch, but Red X evades it, and delivers a strong left punch to Ninja's stomach, Ninja's eyes had pain in them, but Ninja throws his right fist, but Red X dodges and quickly moves around Ninja, and punches his back with his right fist, Ninja swings his left leg out, but Red X ducks and jabs the back of Ninja's right knee, causing him to bends his knee in pain, Ninja swings his right arm, Red X catches the arm with both hands, and then swings his right left hand and chops Ninja in the neck, causing him to gasp out of air from the hit to his windpipe, Red X then delivers a right uppercut to Ninja's chin, before stepping back, spinning and throws a powerful left punch to Ninja's chest, which knocks him to the ground, slamming into it.
Ninja laid on his back, with his eyes shut in pain, before he opens his left eye, where he sees Red X standing before him,
"You can't win, Taskmaster trained me for the sole purpose to beat guys like you, but the funniest part of it is, you are not even on a level that makes you even worth fighting..." Red X told Ninja, coldly.
Ninja got angry at that and jumps off the ground, back on his feet and takes out his sword and swings it at Red X, but Red X quickly and swiftly takes his X knife and the two blades clashes with each other, but Ninja's sword was knocked out of his hands, as it flew upward, spinning in the air, before it falls back down, and the blade digs into the ground, just a few feet away from Ninja, as he looked speechless at what happened.
Red X then puts away his knife, giving a mocking chuckle, "You truly are the most weakest opponent I have ever fought." Red X told Ninja, as he turned away, leaving Ninja just standing there, still processing what happened.
Even with the strength, ability and skills he possesses, Ninja now sees that he is far from strong enough to hold his own against his enemies, like Red X and especially Taskmaster.
Ninja got so angry, but for some reason, he took a deep breath, calming himself as he gets down on his left knee and closes his eyes, as he concentrated, and he then went into Ninja Rage Mode, as his right leg was starting to glow brighter than his whole body.
Red X then stopped walking, as he looks at the ground, where he sees his shadow was in the same direction where Ninja was, behind Red X, he then turned around and sees Ninja, shining as brightly as he even has.
Ninja's right leg then gets incased in black rock, like the grounded rock with magma under it, with the rock having cracks and lets the reddest light and heat shine through it, as Ninja lifted up his head and scowls at Red.
Red X's look had a look that that was caught off guard at Ninja's sudden use for a power he has never seen before, while Ninja stands up, as Red X didn't leave his sights,
While A-Bomb and Kyoya were fighting Black Velocity and Garnet, they stopped when Ninja was glow so bright, it got their attention, as they turned and sees Ninja standing there, A-Bomb was surprised, was this the move Ninja say he used to defeat Scorpion.
Then, Ninja sprints with burst of speed, towards Red X, but before he could reach, Ninja leaps forward, at a huge distances, as he was heading towards Red X, Ninja turns his body in mid-air, with his back facing the ground below, as he pulls his right leg back and when he reached Red X, Ninja delivers swinging drop-kick at Red X, but at a split second, Red X teleports away, and Ninja's fiery right foot hits the ground, creates a huge explosion of fire, with a force so strong, that it blew Garnet and Black Velocity away, while A-Bomb and Kyoya stood their ground, enduring the blast.
When the blast cleared, there was a large smoldering crater, in the crater, was Ninja, laying on his back, with his costume torn up a bit, but his right leg part of it being completely torn off, reveal his bare leg, as it was covered in soot, and with Ninja unconscious.
Black Velocity and Garnet were pushing themselves off the ground, as Red X teleports near them, as the Vanguards looked at the crater that Ninja made, amazed by that display of power.
"Well, there's an unexpected twist..." Red X muttered, as he didn't anticipate Ninja having a move like that.
But then Red X puts his right fingers on the right side of his mask, as he was receiving a call, after hearing it, he turned to face Black Velocity and Garnet.
"I got our orders, fall back." Red X told his teammates, as he teleports away, as Garnet opens her wings and flies into the sky and Black Velocity uses his super speed to run out of the area.
A-Bomb and Kyoya ran towards the crater, where they stopped at the edge and looked down it, where they see Ninja laying there, to A-Bomb's concern.
"Ninja!" A-Bomb yelled out, with worry as he slides down the side of the crater, to the bottom, with Kyoya sliding down behind him.
Once at the bottom, A-Bomb runs to Ninja, jumping on his knees and slides towards Ninja, stopping right next to him, and A-Bomb carefully puts his left hand under the back of Ninja's head and gently lifts him up.
"Ninja..? Ninja! Come on, buddy, talk to me!" A-Bomb said to Ninja, worried,
Then Ninja stirred and opens his eyes, with a exhausted and painful look, "Now that... was a a rush..(!)" Ninja told A-Bomb, joking, which made A-Bomb relieved to see that Ninja was alright.
Kyoya was standing behind A-Bomb, still with a scowl on his face, but with a bit of amazement from what he saw from Ninja.
"Kyoya!" The sound of Reese's voice was heard from behind Kyoya, which made him turn around and see his mother standing before him, with a confident look on her face.
Kyoya looked confused; he would have thought that Reese would run while he, A-Bomb and Ninja were fighting the Vanguards.
Reese takes a step forward, "Not a day goes by where I wanted what happened four years ago to end so much more differently, but I can't change it... I can't... And I know that there is only one thing that can make amends and give you peace..." Reese explained to Kyoya, calmly, before she stopped walking and looked at Kyoya with an accepting expression.
Kyoya looked more confused on what she was doing, before he then gets it, she was going to let him have his revenge.
A-Bomb looked at Reese, knowing what she was doing, as he was about to stand up to stop Kyoya, Ninja puts his right hand on his left shoulder, making him turn his head to look at Ninja, with him giving A-Bomb a look that said 'Wait...'
Kyoya's confused look then quickly changed to fury, as he quickly walked over to Reese, putting both hands on her arms, lifting her feet off the ground, holding her with an iron grip, Kyoya gritted his teeth at Reese, as his hold on her tightens, which made Reese close her eyes, tightening them as she was being hurt.
A-Bomb and Ninja watch, with A-Bomb looked terrified that Kyoya was going to kill their mother, but Ninja had a calm expression in his eyes.
Kyoya's grip got tighter and tighter, his glare at Reese didn't leave her for a second, but he sees Reese look of pain, suddenly Kyoya felt a feeling that was clashing against his wanting for revenge, his anger and hatred for Reese is being over-shadowed by that fact that despite all that hate, aside from A-Bomb and their sister, Reese is the only family he has, someone who wasn't related to him, raised and loved him as if he was her own.
Kyoya started gritting his teeth, as his emotions were making him hesitate on finishing Reese; his grip only just gets tighter and tighter, while shaking Reese a bit, before Kyoya shuts his eyes.
"GAH!" Kyoya yelled out in rage, as he tosses Reese to the ground, as he angrily paced,
A-Bomb sighed in relief that Kyoya didn't do it...
Reese pushes herself up, as she turned and looked Kyoya, who was glaring at her, while his fists were clenched.
Kyoya sighed, closing his eyes, before opening them again, as he kept looking at Reese, "I can't do it... As much as I hate you... I can't..." He told her, his hated for Reese was great, but not enough to wish to kill her.
Reese looked at Kyoya, with a look of speechless, as she didn't know what to say, how she was willing to let Kyoya kill her, but he couldn't do it, as Kyoya narrowed his eyes, as he turned around and walked away, until he performs a super jump and jumps out of the crater, and lands on the ground, but A-Bomb super jumps as well, landing just behind him.
Kyoya turned to see his brother, as A-Bomb had a look of concern, "Kyoya, what do you plan to do, just run?" He asked, knowing that since Kyoya couldn't go through with killing Reese, he had nothing else to do.
Kyoya only stared at A-Bomb, with an unemotional expression, "It won't be long before S.H.I.E.L.D. gets here, so I don't want to be in their best graces..." Kyoya told A-Bomb, with S.H.I.E.L.D. on the way, he has to be gone before they get here.
A-Bomb had a disapproving face, as he shook his head, "Kyoya, you and I both know that S.H.I.E.L.D. will stop at absolutely nothing to hunt you down, and they won't put you back in that tank again, when they catch you, they will kill you!" A-Bomb told Kyoya, explaining the gravity of the situation to him.
Kyoya got annoyed, "And what do you have in mind, Rick? Answer me that, little brother! What would you have me do, when I have nowhere to go?!" Kyoya yelled out in frustration,
A-Bomb gave Kyoya a straight face, "You could join me and my team..." A-Bomb suggested,
Kyoya's angered face then turned to a look of surprise of what A-Bomb is offering.
"You don't have to run, we can protect you, you'll be around people, good people who'll accept you, you don't have to feel all this rage, all this loneliness." A-Bomb reasoned with him, even with everything he did, A-Bomb is willing to give Kyoya a chance.
A-Bomb then raised up his right hand to Kyoya, offering it to him, with Kyoya staring at his hand, trying to think of what to say.
A-Bomb actually means it, his brother has suffered so much, and he could even grasp even a percent of it, but as Kyoya stared at A-Bomb's hand, with nothing but hesitant on taking it, but when he looked up at A-Bomb, who was giving him a broad smile, Kyoya then came to a decision, as his face changed to a grim and serious look, while he shook his head.
"No! I don't want anything to do with S.H.I.E.L.D... Never..." Kyoya told A-Bomb, rejecting his offer, as he takes a step back from him.
A-Bomb's arm drops, as he looked dejected, Kyoya glares at A-Bomb, before he turned to walk away.
"Kyoya, do you think you can just run now for the rest of your life, because you can't, no matter how fast you go or how strong you fight back, you won't win!" A-Bomb warned Kyoya, shining light on the S.H.I.E.L.D. will do to him if he runs.
But Kyoya stood there, with his back facing A-Bomb, before he turned his head to the right. "And if I join you, what will I be? A soldier... A hero... No, to them we'll only be weapons, with hem they just point and you shoot, no questions, if that's what you believe you are, some kind of hero, well then that's great for you, but I will never be anyone attack-dog for an agency that's act like it's for good, when it's just as corrupted!" He told A-Bomb, as he turned to glare at him, before he turned his head away and was about to walk off.
A-Bomb couldn't find words to respond to that, but he found a few words, as he glares at his brother, "Kyoya... If you run... I will find you and take you down..." He warned Kyoya, as A-Bomb hasn't forgotten about how Kyoya hospitalised Jaime and Flash, A-Bomb wanted things to go more simple, but this is a situation involving family, it's never simple, so he made it clear that the next time Kyoya and him meet, they'll be brothers on opposite sides.
Kyoya turned his head to the right to glare at A-Bomb again, but he sees behind A-Bomb, was Reese helping Ninja out of the crater, with his right arm behind her neck, where Reese looks at Kyoya with a expression of remorse on her face, which made Kyoya narrowed his eyes at her, before looking back at A-Bomb.
"I'll hold you on that, little brother..." Kyoya told A-Bomb, until he turned around and began to run, leaving A-Bomb, Reese and Ninja there, with A-Bomb looking unfazed, as his glare stayed on his face, but Reese was greatly worried about what the future will hold for both her sons, as they now fighting each other on different sides.
Sometime later, back at Reese's house, high in the sky, the Helicarrier was flying over the area, casting a large shadow over it, flying down from it, while on the ground, was S.H.I.E.L.D. personal, swiping the area, med-personal tending to the police offices, who tried to stop Kyoya.
While there was a member of med-personal tending to Randy from inside Reese's home, while A-Bomb was sitting at the steps of the house, with Reese leaning her right side on the door from, as the two just watched as a Quinjet, as it lands on the road, as the cargo door opens, Washington quickly walks out of it, as he turns to sees A-Bomb, in which he walked over to him, with a grim and dour aura around him.
A-Bomb looked up and sees Wash, standing before him, as A-Bomb has an unfazed look, as he knew that Wash was going to throw the book at him, but A-Bomb didn't care in the slightest.
"Hijacking an S.H.I.E.L.D. Quinjet, disobeying your superior officer and violating your probation... I'm not mad... Not even a little, I only want to know is why do it? Why just throw it all out the window?" Wash told A-Bomb, with a firm but gentle tone of voice, as he was greatly curious on why A-Bomb would do it, he was already in hot-water but now there's nothing that'll keep his superiors from turning his life into a living nightmare.
But A-Bomb didn't say a word, he just stands up and walks to Quinjet, with that emotionless expression on his face, as Wash and Reese watching him, as Reese had a worried look, concerned that with everything that has happened, has hurt A-Bomb in ways that couldn't be healed and a pain that a mother couldn't bear to see in son.
Washing then turned to look at Reese, "Was he really giving everything up?" He asked her, referring to A-Bomb and Kyoya, wanting her say in A-Bomb's decision.
Reese then turned to look at Wash, with a straight face, "Did you ever consider a sacrifice for someone you care for, to be, viewed as admirable..." She told Wash, with her face turning to a scowl, "... When have you ever had to sacrifice anything in your perfect little life?" Reese asked him bitterly, as she walks to the Quinjet.
She leaves Wash standing there, as he watched Reese walk away, as he clenched his fists, as what she said angered him, but then, Randy is wheeled out of the house on a gurney, as he had bandages wrapped around arts of his body, while was asleep due to the sedatives.
As he passed Wash, he sees how hurt Randy was, Randy's body wasn't healed enough for active field work, and he knew it, Washington then unclenches his fists, as he calms down and seeing Randy like that, made him think, why would Randy risk injuring his body further, but then Wash noticed that when Randy was wheeled just outside the Quinjet, going passed A-Bomb, he asked the medic to wait of a second, where A-Bomb carefully puts his left hand on Randy's right shoulder, gently patting it, as A-Bomb bowed his head at Randy, thanking him for his help, as the medic wheels Randy into the Quinjet.
Wash sees that and figured out that Randy tagged along with A-Bomb out of loyalty, not as a teammate, but a friend.
A-Bomb watches Randy by wheeled into the Quinjet, while Reese walks up to A-Bomb with a with a hesitant expression, as she didn't know what to say, she knew that A-Bomb was upset with her for keeping Kyoya a secret to him for so long, she feared that A-Bomb would never trust her again.
Reese lifted up her right hand and reached it over to A-Bomb's right shoulder, but stops, "Rick... I... I want to... (Sigh)" Reese tried to say the right words but couldn't.
A-Bomb had a sadden look, he could understand why she did what she had to do to, if he was in same position, he would have done the same, but he wouldn't have kept it a secret, let alone when it involves family.
"Call if there's any problems..." A-Bomb merely uttered, as he walks into the Quinjet, leaving Reese there, with remorse married on her face,
After seeing A-Bomb and Randy, Wash suddenly is reminded of a something from long ago...
Flashback: 14 years ago
At the S.H.I.E.L.D. base, it was dawn and in the forest, young Washington was sitting on the edge of a cliff, watching the sunset, still angered by how he cost him, Robin and Lawrence the race.
He just kept watching the sun set...
"Hey, Private Pouty (!)" The sound of Lawrence's voice was heard which made Wash turn around and sees Lawrence and Robin walking up to him, with Lawrence holding two cans of soda in both hands, while Robin held one.
The two of them sat down next to Washington, with Lawrence sitting at Wash's right side, while Robin sat at his left.
Wash turned away from them, facing forward, "I told you I wanted to be alone." He told them,
Lawrence held up one of the cans in his left hand over to Wash, offering it to him, Wash takes a look at it, and was hesitant, Lawrence then shook the can a bit. "Come on, we snagged these from the mess, just took em' with no one being the wiser, take a swig, Wash, they taste better when their unauthorized." Lawrence tells Wash, pushing him to take it.
Wash turned his head to look at Lawrence, and then turned to look at the soda can again, before he gives in and takes it.
Robin looks at Wash, with a curious look, "Are you really that upset on doing some extra chores or is it something else entirely?" She asked him, wondering.
"Y'know, all teams had to cross the finish line together, if Robin and I crossed without you, we still would've lost." Lawrence pointed out to Washington,
"It's about more than just a stupid race! It's about how it's shown me that I'm the weakest link in our troop, how I couldn't catch up with the others or you two, what if we get pulled into a field mission, and I mess up and jeopardize the mission and one of you gets hurt because of it!" Wash snapped as he stands up,
Robin and Lawrence looked at Wash, while he was pacing, Robin had a concerned look, as Wash just stood there, pacing a little bit from his tirade.
Wash kept facing the sunset, until a hand reached and touched his left shoulder, which made Wash flinch as he quickly turned to see Robin, standing up and looking at him, with an unfazed expression.
"You think that our safety is your responsibility, you're not the leader, we're all equal rank, David, and you're the youngest out of the troop, it's not really on you if we get hurt or anything." Robin tells Washington, making that clear.
Lawrence stands up and looked at Wash, "And since when did one foul-up mean you just give up on everything?" Lawrence told Wash, as he grabs Wash by his right shoulder, and turns him around to face him. "Here's a kicker, buddy, no matter how perfect you try to be, you'll mess up, so you can either just latch onto it like an over-sensitive bellyacher, or you do what a real soldier would do. You cowboy-up, you take charge of your mistakes and move passed them instead of just moping alone and hoping they just disappear." Lawrence finished, with a firm tone.
Wash looked at Lawrence, contemplating on what he said, and knew he was right, mistakes are always going to be made, but it's ultimately up to Wash to learn from them, he then calms down, and as Lawrence removes his hands from his shoulders, Wash turned back to face the sunset and slowly sits back down on the ground, Robin and Lawrence sees that what Lawrence said go through to Wash, as they both sat back down with Wash.
Wash kept looking at the sunset, while Robin reached her right hand and places it on Wash's left shoulder, which made him turn his head and look at her, as Robin gave him a gentle smile.
"And Lawrence and I didn't come back for you just because we would have lost; we came back because we're your teammates and your friends." Robin said to Wash, with a meaningful tone.
Wash felt a sense of empathy from what she, he then turned to look at Lawrence, as he nodded at Robin, agreeing to she said, though he wouldn't say it, due to how sappy it was, he agreed as Wash was his friend as well.
Robin removers her hand, and Wash turns his head to look back at her, as she still had that smile on her face.
Wash was happy that Robin and Lawrence cares for him, he was greatly appreciative of having them as his troop and his friends.
Wash, Robin and Lawrence all turned to watch the sunset, as it was a nice view.
Flash-forward: Present
Wash snapped out of his memory as he sees that the Quinjet was loaded up and A-Bomb and Randy was inside it, Washington then walks into the Quinjet, when he enters the jet, the cargo door closes, and the Quinjet flies off the ground and upward into the sky.
While Reese stood there, watching the Quinjet flying off, with a sadden look on her face,
Hours later, now back at the Triskelion Island, it was now the middle of the night, A-Bomb was sitting on top of the SHED's roof, he had a tired expression as he was waiting for the verdict for his insubordination, he knows Fury was going to throw the book at him, it was likely he was gonna be either kicked out of S.P.D. or worse, thrown in prison.
"Hey!" The sound of Washington's voice came from behind A-Bomb, which made him turn around.
Then something was thrown at A-Bomb, he catches the object in his right hand, A-Bomb looks at his right hand and opens it, the object was a S.P.D. badge, but it was different than the others, it was white with small wings on its side.
A-Bomb looked confused as he looked up and sees Washington, who was standing before him.
A-Bomb now had a hesitant look on his face, not sure what Wash wanted or what this new badge was support to represent.
"What's this?" A-Bomb said to Wash, wanting to know,
Washington crossed his arms, as he looked at A-Bomb, "It's you're triumphant reinstatement as S.P.D. leader." He told A-Bomb, making it clear.
A-Bomb then looked back at the badge, before he stands up and looks at Wash, after all the crud Wash gave him, he just out of nowhere, gets him his leadership role back.
A-Bomb narrowed his eyes a bit, finding it hard to believe that Wash would do that. "What's the catch?" A-Bomb asked Wash, having a feeling that there had to be something he wanted back.
"No catch, I pulled a lot of strings with Fury, covering your little sibling pow-wow by saying it was under my orders." Washington explained to him,
After hearing that, A-Bomb was actually convinced that Washington actually went against protocol and did something that showed he cares a little.
A-Bomb smiled a bit, "Thank you," He tells Wash, as he is appreciative to Wash for gets his role back.
"Don't read too much into it, that's the only time I'll bend backwards for you." Wash told him, making that clear,
A-Bomb smirked, "Yeah, sure (!)" He said,
Wash un-crossed his arms as he turned around and was about to walk away,
"Wait!" A-Bomb called out, which made Wash stop and turn his head to the right, looking over his right shoulder to look at A-Bomb. "One question: Why do it?" A-Bomb asked, wanting to know why Wash would get him his leadership role back and have his probation terminated, when just a few hours ago, Wash was about to totally throw the book at A-Bomb.
"Don't look a gift horse in the mouth, I got you your team back, just take it and leave it alone." Wash told A-Bomb, finding that it wasn't need for him to explain his reasons why, I did it and he just wanted to leave it at that.
Wash then continued to walk away, leaving A-Bomb standing there, with a smile, feeling that he's now back on the team and is the leader again, he lifted ups his right hand and looks at the badge for another time, before looking up and watching Washington walk away, despite their differences, he and Wash are on the same side, though Wash is a soldier that choses to follow protocol, he does whatever it takes to save and protect lives, just like A-Bomb.
Meanwhile, inside the Triskelion Med-bay, Randy was lying in a bed next to the window, as he was awake, and just staring at the night sky, he then turned his head to look down at his right leg, as it was covered his bandages, Randy felt so much anger as despite it all, he just ended up hurting himself instead of Red X, while he overpowered Randy with ease, just like Taskmaster, if that was the extent of his abilities, then he had no chance in defeating Taskmaster and Red X.
But then, Randy's watch, that was sitting on the left side of the bed side, was ringing, Randy hears it and then reached his right hand over to it and picks it up, he presses the answer button, and a hologram is projected, and it was Dororo.
Randy looked surprised, "Sensei?" He said, as he didn't expect him to call,
'I apologize for calling you this later, but I've found something, I know you would like to hear now.' Dororo tells Randy, with his hands behind his back.
Randy then remembers that Dororo told him that he was going to try and find something from the scrolls of the First Ninja that could happy Randy in learning more about what his power can really do.
Meanwhile, outside the med-bay, Julie as walking down the hall, in her pajamas, as she was going to check up on Randy.
But when she reached the door, she heard Randy's voice, as he was talking, 'So, you mean you found something that could help me?' Randy said, from inside the med-bay,
Julie had a curious look, as she leans her head closer to the door to hear Randy's conversation.
Back inside the med-bay,
'I believe I found someone who could train you.' Dororo tells Randy,
Randy then looked confused, as he thought there would be something that'll help him; he didn't expect someone who would train him to master his growing power.
"Who, Sensei? Who's this person that can train me?" Randy asked, wanting to know now,
'I do not know, but what I have learned from reading the ancient scrolls is that this person is a powerful shinobi that helped in training the First Ninja in mastering the power of the Ninja Mask.' Dororo explained to Randy,
"What!? The First Ninja was around a thousand years ago, this dude has to be long gone now." Randy said, knowing full well that this mysterious ninja has been dead for over a thousand years, how could Dororo think that a dead ninja could help in training him.
'The scrolls tell that he was capable of amazing thing, to where many believed that he was a God.' Dororo tells Randy,
But Randy looked unconvinced, not believing any of it. "So, you actually think that this guy is still alive and the can train me?" Randy said to Dororo,
'I have seen amazing many things in my lifetime that others would say is nothing but pure fiction, but in the world of the shinobi, the impossible is as true as air.' Dororo tells him, in a sagely tone of voice,
Randy was still unconvinced but looking at how it was the only thing he has heard that almost sounds legit, wither its true or not, Randy had to take it.
Randy sighs, "Alright... So where can I find this guy?" He asked for the location of the mysterious, all-powerful ninja.
'In Japan, deep within Mount Hotakadake, there's a hidden temple somewhere in the mountain, find the temple and you find the ninja.' Dororo explains to Randy,
Randy looked discourage at hearing that he needs to go on a quest, especially with the fact that he's in no shape to go on a quest to a snowy mountain, but Randy wasn't going to wait a second, for every day he sits and does nothing, Taskmaster and Red X are getting more stronger, if there was a chance he can get strong as well, he wasn't going to wait.
Meanwhile, back outside the med-bay, Julie heard the whole conversation and had a worried look, as she knew Randy was going to do this quest, but in his condition, he'll most likely get hurt or worse.
The next day, in the SHED, Randy was in his room, as he was packing supplies into a large rucksack,
With A-Bomb and Ava in his room, both of them looking at them with a concerned look, after he tells them that he was leaving for his quest,
"Are you sure you want to do this, don't you think you need a few weeks to rest and heal." Ava told Randy, hoping to get him to change his mind and hold off on this search for a little bit so that his body could heal.
Randy finished packing and closed up the rucksack and threw in on his back, as he looked at Ava and A-Bomb, with an unweaved look. "I can't, Av, it's something I need to do and something that can't be waited." He tells them,
A-Bomb just looked at Randy, with his arms crossed, as he can understand why he had to do this.
"Yeah, but you're insane if you think you're going without me!" The sound of Julie's voice was heard from Randy's door, which made the three of them turn and see Julie, as she had a rucksack on her back, as she has a serious look on her face.
Randy, A-Bomb and Ava looked surprised and confused on what Julie was doing,
"You need someone to make sure you get there and back in one piece, and I'm the best person who can carry your weight as well." Julie told Randy, making it clear that she was going to accompany Randy on this quest.
A few minutes later, now outside the SHED, a Quinjet with Randy and Julie inside it, as it lifts off the ground and flies off to Japan, while A-Bomb, Metabee, Ava and Kaikaina, who was holding Chomp in her arms, watched the jet fly away.
"You think they'll find this guy?" Metabee asked, looking unsure if Randy and Julie will be able to.
Ava kept looking up at the sky, "I don't know, but I've got a good feeling that Julie and Cunningham will find something." She said, having fate in them,
A-Bomb then turned his head to look at his teammates, with a calculating look on his face. "Guys, I need to talk with all of you." He tells Ava, Kaikaina and Metabee, which made the three of them look at A-Bomb, confused as he sounded really serious.
In the Triskelion building, in the conference room, Kaikaina, Metabee and Ava were all sitting around the table, while A-Bomb places a holo-projector in the middle of the table.
Kaikaina looked confused, as she looks at A-Bomb, "So, what's this big important news?" She asked,
A-Bomb finished setting up the holo-projector and looked at the three of them, "As you know, you three, plus Julie and Randy, knows about where I grew up, and with my mom, she's kept the location of her home secret from the public eye, but I haven't told the recruits about where it was until four days ago." A-Bomb explained to them,
Metabee looked at A-Bomb, raising up his right eye-brow, "Yes, so what does that have to do with anything?" He said, wondering,
"When I was there, Red X and the Vanguards knew where to find us, and it was there I was told something that really got my attention." A-Bomb, as he raised up his right arm, as there was a remote to the projector,
Ava leans in, "What did you learn, Rick?" She asked,
A-Bomb didn't say a word, and he just pressed the button on the remote, and the projector projects holo-images of Kaede, Tula, Cyandog, Flash and Jaime.
A-Bomb had a dead serious look, as he stared at the images, "One of our own is Red X..." He tells them, figuring out that one of the S.P.D. recruits is a spy for Taskmaster.
Ava, Kaikaina and Metabee were shocked and speechless... Someone in their ranks... Someone they call friend... Is Red X...? And the scarier question...
... Who..?
(Authors Notes - The thoughts of my death was greatly exaggerated... The writers block was be far the worse one I ever had, I can't even remember when I posted my last chapter... I have been completely swamped with my life... I had to settle in to my new job... My newly born nephew... I am sorry that this episode has taken so long, and sorry if I've been quiet for months, but I've got my muse back and will try to get more chapters done and uploaded, and sorry for the wait and thank you for your patience. Set aware for the next chapter, it will introduce a new character and in this episode, you'll learn of White Tiger's greatest and ultimate weakness...)
