The medical wing only held the pair for two more days while making sure there were no lingering health problems from their captivity. Even though they were released, they were given a list of items to do now they were released on their own. Prompto was offered a room of his own in the Citadel, which he refused to stay with Noctis instead.

Noctis stared at his reflection for a moment to get used to seeing his regular clothing again. He stepped out of the room with a stiff gait while still enjoying the soft cloth under his fingers. "Ready to enjoy running around the Citadel, Prom?"

"Yeah! Do you have a jogging track or something? Cause I am soooo far behind on my running!"

"Yeah, we have a few. Gladio can probably show you them." Noctis replied as he considered that while scrunching his nose. "I always forget you like running before school."

Prompto nodded. "Yeah, it's something I've been doing for a while. Is... there something wrong with that?"

"I don't like running, so I wouldn't want to join you. But you should have fun."

"Aw, you won't even run with me? For me?" Prompto asked as he gave Noctis big eyes.

Noctis felt his heart sink a little bit at those eyes. "For you? Oh, that's- maybe in a few days? I just-" He dropped his voice so hopefully only Prompto would hear him. "My back is still bothering me a lot."

"Aw, is there nothing that can be done now that we're here?"

"I guess I should. . . let them know about it." He said softly, looking sheepish.

"Dude! That's important! We want your back to be in perfect back order!"

"I guess so. I just, I didn't want to be stuck in that room for even longer."

"Oh same! But that's why running is nice, especially..." Prompto paused to look out the window. "Well outside..."

"Then you should go run. I'm not going to stop you. Just- come back. You've got to come back."

Prompto wrapped his hands around Noctis's. "Just come with me. I'll wait until you're ready to go to the track or even outside. I said I wasn't leaving you, remember?"

"But you should be able to enjoy freedom now. I shouldn't hold you back." He said softly, lowering his head slowly.

"But I don't want to leave you," Prompto protested. "You're... not trying to push me away are you?"

Noctis gasped at that and pulled Prompto in closer. "No! Never! I just- I thought you'd want- I shouldn't... you should be able to leave and do whatever you want without me, right? That feels right? That's what the papers say, even if it feels like tearing out my heart."

"But, why would I want to do anything without you? It feels wrong to just up and leave you. Why should we have to separate?" Prompto asked softly.

"I don't know! I don't get it either." Noctis said as a hand came to grip his hair. "I don't want to stop seeing you, but everyone is talking about separating us, and us seeing therapists, like something is wrong, but I just- I just want to spend all of my time with you."

Prompto held on to Noctis, burying his face against his chest. "I know. You'd think after knowing... what happened before, they wouldn't want to separate us. Like we need to watch out for each other right? Can't let something like before happen again."

"I know. I don't want to lose you again. But, I guess they want us to just be teenagers." Noctis said as he pressed his face against the soft blond hair. "We'll- maybe we can figure out our way soon. I'm not letting you go, no matter what. I love you."

"Thanks, Noct. Besides, isn't being a teenager also being in love? And stuff?"

Noctis gave a soft laugh at that. "I think so. I know our classmates would agree with you on that. Think they miss us at all?"

"Well they probably miss you. Not me."

Scowling a little bit, Noctis poked Prompto on the side a bit. "You should not dismiss how much you light up a room. People notice you more than you think."

"And you always noticed me?" Prompto asked with a smile.

The question made Noctis laugh. "Of course. How could I not? I've always been drawn to you."

Prompto pulled Noctis closer to his face, their noses almost touching. "Well let's hope that never changes."

Noctis leaned forward enough to briefly but firmly pressed their lips together in a chaste kiss. "That won't change. We are together forever."

Prompto's face started to turn red when Noctis pulled back. His mouth dropped open as he stayed there, beginning to stumble over his words.

"Y-You, you just. We just. You kissed, and I..."

"Of course I kissed you. I've wanted to kiss you forever." Noctis said honestly before leaning in to give a slightly harder kiss.

Prompto's hands weaved into Noctis's hair, holding on to him like an anchor. He hummed happily throughout the moment of their second kiss.

Noctis was happy to pull Prompto in close to his body, happy to have the full assurance he couldn't lose him right then. He pulled apart only when he needed to breath, only pulling apart to breath and press their cheeks together.

"Ahem," a deep voice said from behind. "Maybe you two should actually get in a room first before you start that."

The suddenness of the voice behind him made Noctis jump a bit and spin around to a defensive position to protect Prompto. He took a deep breath when he saw Gladiolus there, even if he didn't move. "Gladio, you startled me."

"Well obviously. You two were too lost in your own world," Gladio laughed.

"I- sorry. Time to go back to my room? Too soon for the apartment, right?" Noctis said, trying to get back on some even footing with someone else.

"Well that's what we're planning. Still gotta see how you guys are doing first," Gladio said as he looked between the two.

Noctis pulled away a little bit, even if his grip was still a bit strong on Prompto. "We're doing great. Lead the way to the suite."

Prompto nodded, staying quiet at Noctis. The two then followed behind Gladio until they arrived at Noctis's old room. He hadn't been there since he moved out to live in his own apartment.

"Hey, I don't think I've ever seen your Citadel room," Prompto stated.

He scowled a bit at that. "I don't usually stay here. I like my apartment more. But it's not terrible. I bet you'll like it. The bed is nice."

"Didn't you guys come here to hangout when you gor Prompto's suit fitted and got Ignis to give him etiquette lessons?" Gladio asked as he opened the door.

Noctis blinked a little bit at that. "We did. We had our dance lessons here." He said softly, sounding a bit lost.

"O-Oh yeah, I forgot," Prompto whispered. "Feels so long ago."

"It does, but I enjoyed those lessons a lot. We should dance some more soon." Noctis added with a smile. He looped Prompto in closer to kiss his cheek.

Gladio rolled his eyes, but he had a small smile on his face. "So is this how it's going to be with you two from now on? I better have Ignis prepare us some double dates."

"You'd like to go on a double date with us?" Noctis asked softly, a bit surprised.

"Well you already know Igs and I were dating, are you two not wanting to go on dates?" Gladio asked, leaning against the door frame.

"No, no, that isn't the problem." Noctis said quickly while looking at Gladiolus. "We can- we can definitely do some double dates."

Prompto blushed as he nodded with agreement. "Yeah! Sounds like a good idea!"

"I'll go and tell Ignis then, and let you two have some time alone again."

"He'll be planning in no time." Noctis laughed while he watched Gladio leave the room.

"We're free now, what do you want to do?" He asked and turned his attention to Prompto fully.

"I don't know. More video games? We got all the fun cool stuff in your room to play with."

Noctis gave a snort to that. "Just a few things I think. Come on, let's get settled in before Iggy tries to get us to study or something."
