Later on the alarm went off, waking the two from their blissful rest. Just as they were starting to wake up, there was a knock on the bedroom door.

"Noct?" his father said. "Are you awake yet?"

Between the alarm and the voice at the door, Noctis sat up quickly. "Yeah, we're awake." He said while shaking Prompto's shoulder. "We'll be there right away."

"Huh? Awake so soon?" Prompto asked.

"Yeah, and Dad's here, so time to get up." Noctis warned.

"Aww, that means my dad is probably there too."

"Probably. Time for you to go back for dinner. Apparently I get to have dinner with Dad myself."

"Well that sounds nice at least!"

"It does." He rolled out of bed to help Prompto get up as well.

Pulling Prompto to his feet, the two gathered up his items before heading to the door. There they were greeted by none other than Regis and Clarus.

"Ah, did you have a good rest?" Regis asked.

"Yeah, nice to relax after school." Noctis said honestly.

Regis smiled. "I'm glad to hear it!"

"I hope you two have been good though," Clarus added. "Hopefully you two haven't been getting up to anything."

"If we have, it hasn't been on purpose," He replied with wide eyes.

"Clarus, relax," Regis laughed. "I trust the boys to be good and think before they do anything."

Sighing, Clarus shook his head. "I suppose you are right." He cast a quick glance at Noctis and Prompto. "I believe I can trust you two more than I did when Gladio and Ignis were your age."

Noctis shot Prompto a quick look. "Oh? Any examples?"

"I will tell those stories perhaps when you two are a bit older," Clarus said with a knowing smile.

"When is older?" Noctis asked curiously.

"In a few years," Clarus smiled. "Now come, we need to head to dinner."

"Oh right. Goodbye Noct!" Prompto said as he kissed his boyfriend on the cheek.

"Night Prom, see you at school tomorrow!" Noctis called out as Prompto left the room. He felt his shoulder sink a little bit when he left the room, still hating when they were apart.

After they left Regis stepped into the room. "Mind if I sit down for a bit? I've been on my feet for most the day."

"Of course, please, sit Dad," Noctis said in a hurry as he went to sit as well. "Did today go okay? Are you feeling alright?"

"Yes, the meetings went well. Your old man can handle those. But I'd rather hear how your day was," Regis said as he sat down.

Noctis shrugged a little bit before slouching. "I mean, it was the first day of school, so it was mostly boring. Except for lunch, which was, well-" He had to take a deep breath to keep from getting upset all over again.

Regis placed a hand on Noctis's back. "Tell me what happened."

"It seems so stupid now," Noctis said softly while looking over to Regis. "I just- I went to the bathroom during lunch, and, I felt. . . Prompto was upset about something. I hurried back to find some classmate tormenting him about him dating me. That I would start to dislike him for where he came from, or I was just using him. And- and- I got really mad." He swallowed hard and had to take a deep breath.

"I had to confront him about it. I wasn't going to let someone think that about us. Not after- not after all of what we did together. He kept- he kept disregarding what Prompto was worth though. And I got so mad, I nearly lost control of my magic," He added softly.

Regis wrapped his arm around Noctis, pulling him in close. "Oh Noct, there will always be people who dislike us for whatever we do. It's unfortunate yes, but we can't control it. But I am glad you kept your magic in control in the end."

"I didn't though," Noctis gasped. "Prom stopped me from doing something terrible."

"Even still, with the help of Prompto you were able to prevent something much worse from happening. Prompto does know how to keep you calm, at least"

"He does. I just- I need to know how to control myself without him. I can't- he won't be with me forever, right?"

"Well, he will be as close as can be. But even your mother and I weren't together for every single day. But we still spent much of our free time together," Regis smiled. "And I know you love Prompto dearly, so you'll find a way."

Nocits sighed. "It'll be nice to have him part of my Crownsguard for as long as possible. To keep him as close as I can until the council gets fussy," Noctis confessed.

"I'm still working with the council," Regis smirked. "I'll make sure you're able to marry him as soon as possible."

"You have not. Dad, what have you done," Noctis said in a shocked voice.

"Assuring your future can be as happy as you want it. Noct," Regis said as he placed a hand on top of his son's head. "You know I want to see you happy, right?"

"Thank you Dad. I appreciate it. Hopefully, your hard work is really worth all of it, and Prom wants to deal with all of this for long term."

"If it makes you happy, I know it'll be worth it. Seeing the smiles that you have when you're around Prompto warms my heart. To see you laughing and smiling, it does me good to know you're in good hands."

"But no one else seems to approve of us," Noctis said softly.

Regis gasped slightly dramatically. "Is your father's approval not enough?"

Noctis ducked backed a little bit with a little smile. "Of course not. You are more than enough approval for me Dad."

Regis slowly started to smirk. "And what about Ignis and Gladio? Don't they approve of you and Prompto?"

"I think they approve, but I think we might be a bit much for them sometimes."

"Perhaps. But they still support you nonetheless. And..." Regis's eyes turned to the schoolbag on the table. It was tipped over and some of the contents had spilled out. "Surely at school you have more people who approve of you than stand against you."

Noctis looked over at the bag where some of the cards from his classmates were stashed. "Ah, yeah, I think so. We've been getting cards from people who support us and are glad to have us back."

"So you see? You have plenty of people who approve of you," Regis stated. "But I think the most important approval comes from yourself and Prompto."

"Oh? We already approve of us? I mean, we're dating aren't we?"

"Then you should have nothing to worry about. You two have a wonderful relationship."

"Thanks Dad. I'm glad you think so. Was there anything else you wanted to talk about coming here?"

"Anything you want to talk about, Noct. You know we have the entire evening together."

"We do? You've been so busy recently with the Council and everything."

"I make sure to get time away when I can."

Noctis smiled a little at that. "That's nice. Are we having dinner here, or in the dining room?"

"Where do you prefer?"

"Is that really a question? Here, of course."

"I'll alert the servants right away," Regis chuckled.

Noctis got up so he could start to clear off the table from the papers he had scattered on it. He managed to get it mostly organized by the time the servants got their dinner brought to the room.

"So tell me Noct, how did your classes go?" Regis said as they began to eat.

"They were fine. Are you sure I can't just- test out of Lucian History?" Noctis groaned.

"It is a requirement for every student, and as a student yourself you must adhere to the guidelines. You will ace the class no doubt, correct?"

"I mean, yeah, as long as I don't get too nit picky. Or the teacher takes points for sleeping."

"Well if sleeping was a class you would certainly pass that one," Regis laughed lightly.

"Could it be a class?" Noctis asked with a mostly straight face.

Regis sighed, shaking his head. "I'm afraid not."

Noctis laughed at that. "I figured as much. My own special skill."

"She would be so proud of you. Your mother always believed you would grow up into a strong young man."

"Would she? One day, would you- could you- please tell me more about her?" Noctis asked hopefully.

Regis reached over, placing his hand on top of Noctis's. "I'd be glad to tell you."

He smiled a little bit at that. "I- thank you, I'd like to know more about her."

"I'll tell you everything you wish you know."
