Prompto held Noctis's hand tightly as they were driven through the city. It was a Saturday evening, and the city was alive with lights and music from the various bars and restaurants that they passed. "So, where are we going? You still haven't told me."

"Ah, we are finally cashing in on that double date with Specs and Gladio. Specs chose the place, so we are going to this bistro he loves."

"A place that Iggy actually loves? More than his own cooking? This I gotta see!" Prompto laughed.

Noctis smiled at that and squeezed his hand. "I think you'll like it too. I've only been once before."

"As long as the food is good, and you're by my side; I'll be good."

"Good gods, you're such a sap," Noctis laughed before leaning in to kiss his cheek.

Prompto giggled happily. "You know I am!"

Noctis smiled and kept Prompto close until they got to the bistro. He led the blond into the restaurant, where they were quickly taken to a table to join the older couple at a table.

"Ah, we were wondering when you would arrive," Ignis stated. "I suppose there were some traffic delays?"

"Just a few, but we made it alright. Hope you didn't miss us too much."

"We missed you as we normally would, but now we can enjoy a peaceful dinner," Ignis nodded.

"Sounds nice. Everything going well for you?" Noctis asked as he settled at the table and looked over the menu.

Ignis looked at Gladio. "Yes, everything has been going quite smoothly, especially since that last speech of yours."

"I- yeah? I didn't think it would make that much difference for the whole city." He said softly.

"The people really have changed, Noct," Gladio said. "I didn't think you had the power to move people with just your words."

Noctis looked at Prompto for a moment, then back to his two oldest friends. "I didn't think I could either. At least not yet. I think Prom has some of the credit for this then."

Prompto grinned. "Well, we did write the speech together. That probably helped."

"You were there to help keep me somewhat calm. I don't know if I could have managed without you," Noctis said softly. "But, I'm glad, I'm really glad it's helped so much."

"Alright, enough sappy stuff," Gladio chuckled. "We don't need it seeping all over our food."

"But, Gladdy," Prompto chuckled. "I thought you liked that romance stuff."

"Yeah, you read enough of those romance books, I thought you liked it in real life," Noctis teased lightly.

"You two are too much. And don't call me that nickname in public," Gladio said as he gave a deadpan glare to the two younger boys.

"I didn't say anything! I know better than to even try using that name!" Noctis laughed. "Alright, alright, enough of the sap. Training is going well, Gladio?"

"He was meaning me, Noct," Prompto said as he poked Noctis's cheek. "I am sure Gladio would have your head if you ever called him that nickname,"

"You got that right," Gladio nodded. "And training is going fine. You two keeping on yours? We have a session this weekend."

"We're keeping up with our training. Iggy is making sure we keep up with all the schedules. We're working really hard on making sure defense is good on both sides. Maybe soon you'll be able to come and test it."

"Yeah! You won't be able to stop us!" Prompto boasted. "We are an unstoppable force."

"I imagine a fight between the two of you and Gladiolus would be rather interesting to see." Ignis mused as he put the menu down. "Perhaps this weekend will be an interesting time to test it."

"Is that a challenge?" Gladio chuckled. "Because you two do not stand a chance."

"Oh come on, we can at least try. Maybe we're stronger than you think." Noctis laughed.

"Yeah! Have a little faith in us!" Prompto added.

"I've got plenty of faith in you, but maybe not in the rest of the world," Gladiolus confessed.

"Heeey, what's that supposed to mean?" Prompto pouted.

Gladiolus smiled at Prompto. "Means you're great in the training room. But we gotta work on your skills in the real world."

"He is correct," Ignis added. "You two have been adjusting accordingly, but there is still a long while to go."

Noctis just managed to not pull a face at that. "Yeah, that makes sense. All the training still."

"Also," Ignis said as he rested his arms on the table. "I've heard word that the Homecoming dance is coming. Do you two plan on attending?"

Gladio laughed. "You know they'll just be in the spotlight the entire time. They'll probably be voted the kings of the dance."

"That's for prom, Gladio, or did you forget our senior year?"

"Eh, the dances were all the same to me."

"Did you go to the dances together?" Noctis asked curiously. "And we haven't talked about going to the dance or not."

"Yeah! You guys have never told us about your early years before. Tell us!" Prompto said eagerly.

"I don't imagine that would be a rather interesting story," Ignis replied with a small shrug.

"But it's you guys!" Prompto said as he pointed.

"Blondie's right. It is us," Gladio chuckled

Ignis let out a little sigh while he adjusted his glasses. "Oh very well, tell them how you decided to court me then."

"As you know Iggy is pretty thickheaded," Gladio started as Ignis elbowed him in the side. "I left a rose everyday on his desk when I realized I wanted to date him, but it took him nearly six months to realize what I was doing."

"Iggy. No. Say that's not true. It didn't take you that long to figure it out," Noctis gasped.

Ignis shook his head. "I'm afraid that Gladio is telling the truth, I was hopelessly thickheaded, I must admit."

"No way," Prompto gawked. "Dude! You were just as clueless as Noct and I were!"

"What made you realize what he was doing? or did he have to do something drastic?" Noctis asked curiously.

"Take a wild guess," Gladio smirked.

"Please tell me what drastic measures you had to take."

"Did you just go and kiss him?" Prompto asked.

"You just straight up kissed him after all of those roses? Romance wasn't cutting it." Noctis mused with a wide smile. "Ignis? Why would you be so mean?"

"Why on Eos would you claim I am mean?" Ignis asked, trying to hold back a smile.

"Because you kept him waiting for six months." Noctis laughed.

"Well I am sorry if I did not understand the meaning of his advances, but as you see, in the end I understood," Ignis replied before kissing Gladio on the cheek.

Noctis leaned forward to look at them carefully. "And you're happy, really?"

"He wouldn't be kissing me if we weren't," Gladio chuckled. "Being together has been some of the greatest moments we've had together."

"Wow, that sounds adorable," Prompto said.

Noctis looked over at his older friend, who merely just managed to keep from rolling his eyes. "I assure you, we are very happy. Do stop fretting so," Ignis replied while pushing the menu to block the princes view of anyone else.

"Hey!" Noctis laughed. But he accepted the message.

"So when do we get the good food?" Prompto asked. "Heard that this was a great place."

"Pick an item, then we can order." Ignis said easily. "Truly though, I imagine you could just pick at random and enjoy immensely."

"Don't do that, you might get a salad," Noctis warned.

"Hmm there are so many good choices," Prompto said, looking over the menu. "What are you getting, Noct?"

"The oyakodon. Looks good to me." Noctis said honestly.

"Hmm I think I like the sound of the long bone steak," Prompto commented, still looking through the menu.

Noctis nodded at that. "Sounds good." Soon enough, all of them had put in their order with the waiter to get their food started.

"Now we just gotta sit back and wait," Prompto said as he stretched, placing an arm around Noctis.

"Pretty much. What do you think, want to do Homecoming? Or are you still waiting for everyone to settle after the whole adoption press release?" Noctis asked.

"Homecoming isn't for at least 2 more weeks. But..." Prompto trailed off. "It sounds nice. Wouldn't be as tense as a... uh, you know gala."

"This might be a good practice run for when we have to start doing galas again," Noctis said softly.

"It is something you will have to confront sooner than later." Ignis confirmed softly.

"I know... it's just a lot to think about. Will there be guards for us? At homecoming?"

"If you two decide to go, of course. We will make sure to have plenty there to try and keep you safe," Ignis explained.

"Thanks, good at least," Prompto breathed out slowly.

"Can we have some time to think about it? I don't want to make a rash decision." Noctis said as he looked at Prompto curiously.

"Yeah, we can think about it. I'd prefer that anyway," Prompto answered.

"We'll have an answer soon, I'm sure." Noctis added.

"There's no rush. We want you to make the best decision for yourselves." Ignis replied.

"Yeah, I was only curious if you two had considered talking about it yet," Gladio added.

Noctis looked a bit sheepish while shaking his head. "The thought sort of slipped our mind."

"Ooh," Gladio chuckled. "I see, you're thinking of other things."

"Astrals no," Noctis quickly refuted as he pushed Gladio's arm hard, but his face was a bright red.

"G-Get your head out of the gutter, Gladio!" Prompto sputtered.

Ignis took this time to take a sip of his water to cover his smile. "Gladio, I imagine they haven't had time to experiment like that. Though, I appreciate the worry." He said calmly.

Prompto tried to bury his face into Noctis's shoulder. "Why are they trying to embarrass us to death?"

"I think because that's what brothers do." Noctis mused with a sigh.

"Brothers are totally the worst," Prompto laughed.

"I guess that means they care."

"Aw, how sweet," Prompto smiled softly.

Ignis scoffed at that. "We both care greatly about that. But, I suppose brothers are a good way to consider us. I know I'm rather honored."

"You guys..." Prompto said with a smile. "You're the only family I really have. I couldn't ask for better brothers."

"I'd say I'm honored, but I don't want to be a brother." Noctis teased, just stifling a laugh.

"I didn't say you're a brother. You're my boyfriend. There's a difference."

Noctis smiled at that. "Good, I want to be your boyfriend."

"Come now, remember the public eye." Ignis warned.

"Don't worry Iggy, I'm behaving."

"Maybe we should have gotten a private booth," Gladio suggested.

"Well, you said we could have a table, so we are forced to deal with our fate." Ignis replied with a smirk. "Welcome to my life."

"Next time then," Gladio offered with a wink.

Ignis shared a little smile with him. "You know what I expect for next time." He said softly.

"Is this how you flirt? Cause I don't want to see it. This is weird flirting." Noctis replied while stifling a laugh."

"And they tell us to remember we're in public," Prompto snickered.

Noctis gave a snort of laughter to that. "You've got a good point. Still, we shouldn't try to see how soon Iggy can get grey hair. That seems cruel."

The food soon came to the table, and the boys were finally able to eat. Prompto dug into his meal and savored every bite that he had.

Noctis waited till they were settled to eat to ask, "Has everything been alright at home with the new announcements? I know, we threw a lot on you with Prompto joining your family."

"Everything's been fine," Gladio shrugged. "Nothing really that I've noticed."

"Oh good. I'm glad they haven't given you a hard time."

"What about you guys? You are the more important two," Gladio replied.

"Things are good. No one's done anything that I've noticed." Noctis said with a shrug.

"Same here. Well, other than having more cheers from the fan groups at school. Other than that, not much else."

"And they're really the most vocal group at school. It's kind of strange, but fun."

"They're our supporters, so it's good they're vocal, right?"

Noctis smiled and nodded. "Yes, it is. Doesn't make it less strange."

"True. That is very, very true," Prompto sighed as he rested his head against Noctis.

"Have they been causing you any problems at school?" Ignis asked, looking at Prompto in particular.

"Nope. Been pretty smooth sailing. And that one guy who bothered me hasn't shown his face again."

"Thank the Astrals." Noctis muttered under his breath.

Ignis looked over at Noctis curiously. "What was that?"

Noctis looked up and quickly shook his head. "Nothing, it's fine."

The four went back to eating their dinner after that, with no further thoughts to derail them. It was probably one of the most peaceful and enjoyable nights out that the four had together in a very long time.
