Peter smiled at the scene in front of him.
The love of his life and his precious 12 month – old daughter playing together on the beach with their family.
Perry and Della were sitting with Natalie as the family laughed at Grace's antics. Paul was standing away from all the action as he looked on.
Perry looked up and walked over to Paul,
"Something wrong?"
Perry asked as Paul shook his head,
"No, I can't believe how much Grace looks like Natalie."
Perry and Paul smiled as Grace stood up and began to walk towards them as Natalie and Peter gasped as Della laughed,
"Oh, my goodness!"
Paul kneeled down as he held his arms out for Grace as Grace laughed as she walked to him.
"Come on, Grace. You can do it."
Natalie smiled as Grace made it to Paul as he laughed and kissed Grace's forehead.
"Well done, little girl."
Natalie cooed as she walked up to Paul and Grace as Grace giggled happily.
Peter smiled brightly as he felt that this was the perfect moment to make his life all the better.
He was ready to propose to Natalie.
Grace was getting fussy and held her hands out for her Grandma as Natalie handed her daughter to Della,
"Hey, Nat care to go for a walk with me?" Natalie nodded she looked at her parents and big brother as little Grace slept in Della's arms.
They walked for about five minutes before Peter got down on one knee as Natalie teared up,
"Natalie, I know you've had a pretty rough time since January of '82 – even as a child. But I want you to know that your past experiences have only made me love you even more. You're a strong woman Natalie, and one fantastic mother to our little Grace. What I'm trying to say is, will you marry me Natalie and become the future Mrs. Hawk?"
"Yes, Peter. I will." Natalie said while crying as Peter kissed her soundly before sliding the beautiful engagement ring on her left ring finger before walking back to Perry, Paul, Della and Grace.
"Mom, Daddy?" Natalie asked as they made it back to where the family was as Perry nodded,
"Yes, Nat?" Della looked to him in surprise as Natalie held up her left hand as Della gasped handing Grace to Perry as she hugged Natalie tightly,
"Oh, this is wonderful Natalie. You better take good care of her Peter." Della challenged with a laugh to her future son – in – law as Peter chuckled with a nod as Paul hugged Natalie tightly,
"I'm so happy for you both." Perry smiled as Natalie held out her arms for little Grace as he hugged her after Grace was in her Mama's arms – still fast asleep.
"You're one lucky lady, Nat. Peter's definitely a keeper." Natalie smiled,
"Thank you, Daddy." The family went to Clay's to celebrate the engagement, happily.
