Chapter
1: A Dream of Nothingness
Walking down a long
hallway, I saw a white door at the end. I was dressed in all white as
well, with no shoes on my feet. The floor was cold against my bare
skin, but I could deal with it. The air seemed so...empty, if you can
understand what I mean. I could almost see my breath when I took a
deep breath. As I drew nearer to the door, I had a strange feeling.
Did I want to open it? Did I really want to see what was inside? For
so many weeks I had walked down this same hallway, and stared at this
same door. Did I really want to open it, to see what was awaiting me
on the other side?
I stood there contemplating this for quite a
while, until I heard a noise behind me. Quickly I turned around, only
to see someone in a long white cape, with the hood covering their
face. Who was it? And, why were they always following me?
"Who
are you?" I continually find myself asking this 'mystery'
person.Yet again, I got no answer.
He just stood there, in the
middle of the large hallway. I couldn't see his eyes, but somehow I
knew it was a he. The way he stood, you could just tell. It made me
nervous, seeing someone staring at me, but not being able to know who
it was. I decided to walk further, towards the door at the end of the
hall.
"Stop."
He spoke, for the first time.
"But why?" I wanted to
know. Needed to know.
"The time for this will come. Not now.
Go back." I knew that voice. I knew it from somewhere.
But...where? It sounded like a voice I heard quite frequently, but I
just couldn't place it. I racked my memory trying to remember, but I
just couldn't.
"Tell me who you are, and I'll walk away.
Just tell me." He began to walk closer to me, in a surprisingly
fast pace. Before I knew what was happening, a black veil was put
over my face, and I could no longer see anything. And then I woke up.
