The ride to La Push was mostly quiet. I didn't know what to exactly say to Paul. I'm assuming that he's thinking the same thing. To say that I was tense would be an understatement.

"You know that you can relax right? I'm not going to hurt you."

I just let out a sigh. "Sorry. Been a rough couple of days." The car got quiet once again.

"What exactly happened?" I sighed and looked at him.

"Edward pretty much said everything. I was in the house with Alex and I had my back turned towards a window. This vampire burst through the window and grabbed me before yanking me out of the house. He let me go in mid-air but Alex was there to catch me."

"What happened to the leech?"

"The one that attacked me? He ran off. Everyone is keeping an eye out just in case he returns."

"Well, glad your not dead." I let out a sigh as I watch him.

"Paul, I'm not trying to be mean but why do you care? It's obvious that you don't like me. Why go through all this?" I wave my hand around me to emphasize the car ride taking me to La Push.

"It's not that I don't like you. I tolerate you is more accurate. Your human and could have been hurt by a leech. Even though you live with a bunch of them doesn't mean that we don't care. We are protectors that protect people from vampires. Your human so that protection applies to you too."

"Thank you but I think I'm ok. I've been with them for 12 years. If they were going to hurt me, they would have done it by now."

Paul just snorts. "Whatever you say." I narrowed my eyes at him but chose to keep my mouth shut.

Soon, Paul drove us onto the reservation. I looked behind me to see Forks growing farther away. I hope Alex doesn't do anything stupid.

I'm brought out of my thoughts when Paul parks the car at Sam's house. I look to see Jacob and Bella already talking with the other werewolves. I sigh and walk out of Paul's car and head over to Bella.

"You honestly have no idea how annoying Jacob's been. Deciding if he should call you or not."

I don't say anything as I quietly make my way to Bella. I look at the tan people that are around me. They were all huge. They were tall, buff, and just looked intimidating. I'm really starting to regret my decision in coming here.

All too soon it got eerily quiet. I looked around me to see everybody's eyes trained on me. Yeah, it was a mistake coming here.

"A Cullen is on our lands, never thought I would see this." Jared couldn't keep his mouth shut.

Bella came over to me and tried to give me a reassuring smile. I tried to give her a small smile back. Easier said then done.

"Paul, why the hell did you bring her here?"

"Yeah Paul, why did you bring me here?" I look at Paul again and give him a withering look.

"What can I say, I thought it would be amusing."

I narrowed my eyes at him. "So I'm here just so I can be your amusement?"

Paul just shrugged his shoulders. This guy.

"You told me that I can come here because I'm human. I only came to make sure nothing happens to Bella."

Paul then narrowed his eyes at me. His whole demeanor started to change. "So the Cullen's are having you monitor her. What are you some kind of watch dog?"

"What do you think Lahote? I'm not a watch dog. I'm a concerned citizen."

"Maybe it was a mistake to bring you here."

"You think. Just when I start thinking you care about other peoples safety, you have to go and ruin it with you egotistical attitude! Glad that I'm alive huh? Well rest assured I'm fine. I'll just be going now."

Paul let out a growl as he stared at me. I just gave him a long hard stare. Our staring contest ended when someone started coughing.

"Wow," said Embry. I almost forgot that the pack was still here.

"Dude. She has the same attitude as you do Paul. How did you not imprint on her." My eyes widened at that. Me and Paul both whirled to look at Jared.

"What!" Bella looked a little confused.

"What's an imprint" she asked.

"An imprint is our soulmate," answers Jared.

Jacob just rolls his eyes. "An imprint is more than that Jared and you know it. It's not like love at first sight, really. It's more like gravity moves suddenly. It's not the earth holding you here anymore, she does. You become whatever she needs you to be, whether that's a protector, or a lover, or a friend."

"Like hell would I ever fall in love with this dog." I remark while pointing a finger at him.

"Well I'm glad that I didn't imprint on you Cullen."

"For once, we are in an agreement Lahote." We both look at each other with narrowed eyes. I am glad that he didn't imprint on me. It would be awful if he did. We would constantly be at each others throats.

"Ok..." Sam interrupts us while trying to calm the both of us down. "Let's just all calm down shall we. Paul go take a walk. Sophie you can come inside, Emily just made muffins."

At the sound of muffins my head perked up. I look at Emily suddenly excited and hungry. "What kind of muffins? Chocolate, blueberry, banana nut?" Emily started laughing at my excitement.

"Blueberry. Come inside and have some." I start to head inside her and Sam's house while ignoring Quil, Embry, and Jared's comments about how I'm not Paul's imprint.

I barely registered Paul's grumbling or the fact that he ran off into the woods.

I walk into Emily and Sam's house and I'm instantly hit with the smell of blueberry and butter lingering in the air.

"Come on Sophie, make yourself at home" said Emily. She walks past me and picks up a plate that is full of blueberry muffins.

I smile at her as I take one off of the plate. "Thank you." I sit at the table and take a bite out of the muffin. I'm instantly hit with a buttery blueberry flavor. My eyes widened and I started to eat faster. "These are delicious," I tell Emily.

I'm replied with a laugh. "Thank you." I look to see Emily staring at me. I look at her and I try not to stare at the scars on her face. I can only imagine what Sam feels when her looks at her.

"I appreciate your hospitality. I was honestly skeptical about coming over here. I didn't know if I would be allowed or not." Emily smiled at me kindly as Sam walks into the house.

"That is understandable since technically you are a Cullen."

"The only difference is that I'm human."

"Correct. I hope that we didn't make you feel uncomfortable. We were just surprised to see you here with Paul. We had no idea that he was going to be bringing you," stated Sam.

I shake my head. "It's fine. It took me by surprise that he wanted me to come here. Sorry about Emmett by the way."

Sam just nodded in response. "It's fine. I just don't want it to happen again."

"It won't, I can promise you that. I've already had a heated discussion with Emmett."

Emily then just let out a giggle. "Now that is something I would have wanted to see."

I gave her a smile in return.

"I hope you don't mind me asking, but Paul told me what happened. Do you think that the attack was random or is Victoria behind it?"

I give Sam a calculating look before sighing. "I think Victoria is behind the attack. She's angry about what happened with her mate James. Last year we encountered James, Victoria, and Laurent. James wanted to kill Bella but I was his main target. He wanted to hurt my family and thought that by losing me, it would hurt my family the most. He saw how more of my family members were attached to me compared to Bella. He lured Bella into a trap knowing that I would follow. He almost succeeded in killing me too." I rolled up my shirt sleeve to show the bite mark scar to Sam and Emily. I didn't really look at their faces before rolling my sleeve back down. "Edward killed James and Victoria wants revenge. We thought it was only Bella that she wanted but I'm thinking that I'm a target also. I think that she didn't come after me at first because I was so well protected compared to Bella. I believe that she turned someone and sent them to come kill me. There are disappearances happening in Seattle. Too many people are disappearing without a trace. The news is saying that a killer is on the loose. I think that it's Victoria creating an army. She wants to destroy us. Seattle is the perfect area to create a newborn army before coming to get us." I stop talking and look at Sam and Emily.

They both look stunned. I can tell that Emily keeps glancing at my arm where the bite mark was at. Sam looks at me deep in thought. "All that information is a lot to consider. It does make sense why she would be coming after you and Bella. You obviously got bit by that vampire. How come you are still human?"

I subconsciously rub my arm. "Edward sucked the venom out. I'm glad that he did, the pain was excruciating."

"I can only imagine." All of us grow quiet, not quite sure what to say. That's when the front door to Emily and Sam's house opens. Bella enters looking dejected. I have a good guess on what happened between her and Jacob.

"Hey Sophie. I think it's getting a little late, everyone is probably getting worried. We should probably head back." Bella gives me a look and I know that she wants to go home. Whatever Jacob said really hurt her.

I nod and stand up. "Ok. Emily thank you for the muffin." Emily gives me a warm smile.

"You're welcome. Sophie, don't be a stranger." My eyebrows raise at that statement. Am I allowed to come back.

"Sure, why not. It was actually really nice to talk to you," Sam answers my unasked question. I smile at the two of them.

"Ok." I walk over to Bella and realized something when we walked out of the house. "Wait, how are we going to get home?"

"I'll take you two." I grimaced at the voice. I turn to look at the idiotic hot head.

"Did you cool off? Think you can handle driving us back to Forks?" Paul just snorted.

"Please, I'll be fine. Think you can survive a car ride back to Bella's house? It's either you walk or you get into the car." I grumbled as I walk to Paul's car and get into the backseat. There was no way that I was going to be sitting next to him.

Paul soon gets into the car followed by Bella. I smile and wave at Sam and Emily before Paul drives off. Taking me and Bella to her house. I just hope that my family isn't too angry with me.

I hope that you enjoyed this chapter. Just to clarify, there is no love triangle between Sophie, Alex, and Paul. Paul just sees Sophie as an annoying sister. With the triangle between Edward, Jacob, and Bella I didn't want to add another one. I felt that another love triangle would take away from the story. Please tell me your thoughts!
