Flashbacks Part 1
It is the next day since Ash fell unconscious, the others are eating breakfast and then Reisa says, "Hey, where are Ash and Lillie?"
"I haven't seen them since last night. Something is fishy here..." Mark says.
Just then, they see Lillie rushing to the cafeteria and she is ordering the food, after having the food, Minami tries to call her, but Lillie says, "I am sorry, but I need to go to the hospital wing."
"What happened?" Mark asks with worry and Lillie tells them everything happened last night. True to be told, they are also frustrated that they will go this far to hurt Ash.
"I can't believe Gary and the others will do this! And I was friends with them!" Serena says angrily.
"Calm down. Serena. We are also mad, too." Mark says. "So Lillie, what does Mother say about this?"
Lillie says, "Right now she is talking to their parents about their children's behavior. Right now I don't know how will it turn out."
After that, the others also rush with Lillie to the hospital wing and they see how Ash is lying there on the bed. They decide to watch him for a while until Professor Amelia comes in. She says, "I know you are worried about Ash, but right now you have to go to class. Lillie. Since I trust you to take care of your studies, you don't mind if you stay here?"
"Not at all, Professor." Lillie says as the other people leave.
As the room is only Lillie and Ash, Lillie places her hand on his face as she looks at the ring Ash gives her.
"Ash...please wake up..." Lillie prays as she starts to recall her first time with Ash back in Kalos High.
(Flashback)
Lillie and Gladion were staying at Kalos High, but due to family matters, Lillie has been depressed since her mother only cares about Gladion and she was treated as a disgrace. In school, Gladion has befriended Gary and the others as they hang out with each other, as for Lillie, she just sits at her own desk reading her book. A lot of people try to befriend her, but all failed as Gladion interferes with them from getting close to Lillie.
"Please...stop..." Lillie hears a faint cry as she turns around, she looks in horror that Ash is being hit and punched by Gary, Paul, and Trip. Lillie can't believe that there are people in this school so mean and cruel.
"Ha? The loser wants to beg for mercy?" Trip says.
"That shows how he is so pathetic." Paul says as they keep hurting him.
"Stop it!" Lillie can't stand it as she yells. This causes the three then turns around and sees her.
"Well, if it isn't Miss Lillie. Do you want to..." Gary tries to flirt with her, only to be slapped.
"I don't want to go with bullies like you!" Lillie says.
Just then, a Professor comes and says, "What is going on here?"
Then Trip says, "Ash is bullying us again, this time he even calls Lillie to help him!"
"What?" Lillie tries to protest, but the Teacher says, "Detention, for you Ash Ketchum and Lillie Aether."
Lillie can't believe her ears about how the teacher just have her detention, something that she hadn't have back in the Alola School.
"You can't do this teacher..." Lillie tries to protest, but Ash stops her.
"Don't. They won't listen to you. It won't be bad..." Ash says as Lillie sighs, as they were asked to clean the classroom after everyone leaves the school.
When they are cleaning the classroom together, Lillie asks, "Does this often happen to you?"
Ash says, "Yeah, but I am used to it. The teachers here are the worst, except Professor Sycamore and Professor Magnolia."
"But why don't you just report it to Professor Sycamore?" Lillie asks.
"When all the classmates are against you, not even Professor Sycamore and Professor Magnolia can help me." Ash frowns a little.
"Do you need help?" Just then, they see a boy standing at the doorway, and Ash smiles and says, "Thanks, Hop. But don't worry about us, we can do this on our own."
"If you say so. Though you really need to stand up to them." Hop sighs as Lillie asks, "I thought the whole school is against you..."
"No, Hop is my only friend in the school, though he is a good actor as he only helps me when we are alone." Ash says and Hop agrees.
Hop says, "Besides, Ash has been broken ever since that happened..."
"Huh? Why?" Lillie asks.
Then Ash proceeds to tell her how Serena says those words to him, true to be told, she is angry at her, too.
"You don't deserve this, Ash. I am sure that you will find another one." Lillie says to him.
Ash frowns and asks, "All the classmates except Hop have been treating me badly...why do you care much about me?"
Lillie stops her sweeping and says, "Well...I don't know. But I felt something different about you..."
Ash says, "If that's the case...thank you."
And since then, Lillie will talk to Ash every time they are together, despite her brother's protests and threats. But Lillie didn't care, since Ash is the only one besides her father that treats her differently.
(Another Flashback)
It is a day before Ash and Lillie leave for Sevestar, Ash was walking on the street due to buying groceries to eat, then he sees Lillie sitting on the bench at Rogue Plaza crying. Ash gasps as he quickly rushes towards her.
"Lillie? Tell me what's wrong?" Ash asks with worry and then Lillie notices him, after Ash puts down the groceries and sits beside her, she starts to tear up again.
"Ash..." Lillie now cries on his shoulder.
Ash doesn't care that his shirt is wet because of his tears, he quickly takes out his new handkerchief and wipes her tears. "What's wrong? Why are you here alone crying? I thought you were at home like you always did..."
"I have no home..." Lillie cries again. "My mother disowned me..."
Ash gasps in horror as he didn't expect that to happen. Ash asks, "Why? What happened?"
Then she tells him the whole fight and how her mother says those mean words to him. Ash knows that Gladion is one of the bullies he had met, but he never knew that he would do that to Lillie.
Ash frowns and says, "I am sorry, it's my fault that you don't have a family..."
Lillie doesn't want Ash to feel bad as he is always being bullied, Lillie says, "Don't say that, it is not your fault, it is my brother's."
Then she cries again and she says, "Now I don't have a family...What should I do?"
Ash looks at her broken face, he knows that he has to make up to her somehow, then he says, "Lillie. Why don't you stay with us?"
"Huh?" Lillie asks while sniffing. "Stay with you?"
"If your family kicked you out of the house, then we will give you a place to stay." Ash says as Lillie nods.
After walking back to the house with their hands full of groceries, Trenor comes and greets them at the doorway.
"Hey Brother, who is she?" Trenor asks, but he also notices tear marks on the eyes. "What's wrong?"
"I'll get to that later, Trenor. Can you ask Mom and others to come here? Since I want to discuss something about her." Ash says with a stern tone and Trenor realizes that something bad might have happened.
Trenor nods as he goes to call their mom, not long after, Aurora, Mark, Minami, Insey, and Golly arrive at the living room. They are surprised to see Ash brought a girl to their house, not only that, but they also notice the tear marks as well.
Aurora says, "Ash, who is this young lady beside you?"
Ash says, "Well, this is Lillie. She is one of my two only friends at Kalos High...she was disowned by her family...just because she befriended me instead of the others that hurt me."
This causes gasps from his family members, Lillie begins to cry again after the reminder. This time Aurora immediately hugs her, causing her to be surprised.
The other family members are not happy at all, Mark says, "I know you are being bullied at school...but to do this to her...how could they?"
Minami says, "This is really getting too far!"
Aurora nods and says, "Lillie. Right. I am sorry to hear that. Since you don't have a home. How about you stay with us?"
Lillie says, "But...I don't want to be a burden..."
Insey says, "Don't worry. You are not a burden, we like to help others and it is our nature."
Golly says, "Yeah. We will be great friends."
Lillie looks at them and thanks to them all. Then Aurora says, "Ash, since the RPA school is finished testing all the stuff, we will be heading there tomorrow and you won't need to go to Kalos High anymore."
Ash says, "That is great." He turns to Lillie and asks, "Lillie, since we are going to switch schools into another region, I want to ask if you want to come with us?"
Lillie has finished crying and then she shows a determined face. "If it can let me stay away from the bullies, I'll come, too."
Everyone is happy that Lillie will come with them, then the next day, Ash and Lillie go to Professor Sycamore's office to tell him the news.
"So you two are leaving this school?" Sycamore asks.
"Yes. Professor. Since I was originally born in Sevestar Region. And the school there is complete, so we will be switching schools." Ash says.
"I see. Still, I am really sorry for what our students do to you." Professor Sycamore says.
"It is fine. We just hope we don't need to see them again." Lillie says as Professor Sycamore nods.
After bidding farewell to Professor Sycamore, they also tell the news to Hop, Hop was sad at first, but he also bids them good luck and farewell. But just as they are about to leave, the two are surrounded by the bully gang again.
"Well if it isn't the loser Ketchum and Lillie?" Misty asks.
"What do you want now?" Lillie says coldly.
"We are giving you today's beating." Trip says smugly as they prepare their punches, but Ash says, "You know what, I think it is enough for being this weak."
Then as the bullies are trying to give him a beating, Ash dodges every one of them, and then he also fights back by punching them, with swift movements, Trip, Paul, Gary, and Drew are now beaten on the floor. The teachers come and one of them asks, "What's going on here?"
As the other classmates are saying that Ash and Lillie are at fault for this, Ash says, "I am very sorry, teacher. But you have no authority towards us anymore, we have signed the switching school papers and we are leaving this school once and for all."
"What?" Gladion says in shock. "You are switching schools?"
Lillie says, "You and Lusamine have disowned me, so I am not a part of your family anymore."
"And besides, you teachers are the worst teachers. You never once think that I was framed and you just gave me detention and bad scores all these years, right now our family had filed a lawsuit against this school. If we win, this school is going to get closed. I will see how you guys get out of this."
This causes the teachers and the students to get shocked as Ash and Lillie leave the school with anger.
Here is the first part of the flashback, this is how Ash and Lillie meet for the first time. The next part will be how Lillie learns the truth about Ash and how Ash meets his friends.
