The Knight Challenge Part 4
Ash and his classmates finally arrive at Fiero City, the city which is surrounded by volcanos. May wipes her sweat on her forehead and she asks, "Is this place really that hot? I feel like my body is going to melt from this heat..."
Alice says, "This place sure is hot to tell you the truth. This is where the volcanoes of the region are, and this place is also famous for its hot spring resorts."
"Hot springs? Can we get in one?" Dawn asks excitedly.
"We are here for the Knight Challenge, not for playing." Misty says irritatingly, ever since the four of them betray their group, Misty and the others have been angry at them, but the other four just ignores their anger.
"Sure, Dawn." Ash ignores the orange-haired girl. "So the ones that are challenging the Fire Trial are Trip, Dawn, Serena, Gladion, and Emily. Now please come with us and I'll take you to the trial ground."
As the boys are taking Trip and Gladion to the males' only hot springs, Lillie takes the girls to the females' only ones.
"So we are doing the challenge in the hot spring?" Serena asks after they take off their clothes and wrapped in towels.
"Yes." Minami says. "And since boys and girls should be in the different pools., so Lillie will be helping you with the challenge instead."
Lillie brings some eggs and some pans that are seen on the stoves, and she says, "Helen is the one that creates the challenge, as she is a chef. The first task is quite tricky, as you need to use the hot produced from the hot springs to fry the egg."
Emily asks, "Fry an egg inside of the hot spring? That is new."
"It is new indeed." Golly says. "You can send out your Fire Type Pokemon for help, but you can't let them use moves since that might be considered cheating."
Dawn sends out Typhlosion, Serena sends out Delphox and Emily sends out Magmortar to help to fry the egg in the pan, they also watch out as they don't let them fall into the pool.
"How about this?" Serena asks once she finishes frying the egg into a sunny side up, she shows it to Lillie. Lillie smiles, "That looks delicious, I am sure that you cooked a perfect egg."
After Emily and Dawn are finished, Alice then takes out three big candles and a small raft. "Now the second one is the hardest task. Even though hot springs are hot, they are still made from water, and they can stop the flames. So what you need to do is to make sure that the candles stay on the raft floating within a minute without the flames put off."
"It really sounds hard..." Serena says, and at the same time, Misty and Iris are talking about something. "Since we aren't going to challenge the task and the fact that Dawn betrayed us, how about we ruin their challenge?"
"So that they won't be able to get those badges and we will be stronger. That is a good idea." Iris says as they have smirks on their faces. But their conversation is heard by May, Minami, and the others, as they are not going to let them ruin their challenge.
"Now start." Lillie says as the three rafts start to float. But after 30 seconds, Misty and Iris start to send waves to their candles. May and Golly send out Blastoise and Jellicent to block the two of them from getting closer to the raft and the waves made by them.
"Hey! What is that for?" Misty yells.
"It is my line, you won't be ruining their challenge." May says with an angry tone. "That is so low of you."
"I thought you are on our side!" Iris says.
"You are still little kids, don't you know the tides change?" Golly says, "At least she knows her errors and you don't. That makes you better than you guys."
After the challenge is done, Lillie says, "Congrats, you own these badges."
The three take the badges and thank them. Dawn asks, "Hey, May, Golly, why do you send out your Blastoise and Jellicent?"
"To prevent two annoying kids from ruining your challenge." She glares at the two.
Eve sighs, "I guess they won't ever grow up, huh?"
After they all head outside, Ash and the others are waiting for them.
"So you guys are done?" Ash asks.
"Yes." Serena shows the badge to Mark as he smiles back. Then they all leave the city.
"Why are we back at school?" Drew asks as they arrive back at the school grounds, most of their classmates are in class, but they are outside in the woods.
"That is because our school is where the Dark Type Trial takes place." Drandon says. "So Gary, Gladion, Emily, and Paul are the ones who are challenging."
Paul asks, "What kind of challenge is this time?"
Gary says, "Since it is a dark type, you better not let us do something evil."
"You know, I could have said the same thing to you guys as that was usually what you did." Ash says, and it causes the bullies to blush in anger while the others are laughing at a little. "Just relax. Just follow me."
As the three boys and Emily follow Ash, they head deeper into the forest. There are doodles of Smeargles on the trees, and Ash gives the four of them buckets and cloth, he says, "Your first task is a simple one, you'll have to clean up the mess on the ground."
"Clean up? You are letting me do something like a punishment?" Gary says back.
Paul is getting annoyed by Gary's arguing behavior, he says, "Shut up, Gary, just do it."
"Fine." Gary mutters in annoyance as Paul isn't with his side anymore.
They have Unbreon, Weavile, Silvally, and Honchkrow to help them clean up, once it is done, they see Ash gone.
"Hey, where did he go?" Gladion asks. But then they hear sniffing. Emily notices a crying girl and rushes to her.
"Hey there, are you alright?" Emily asks, then the girl cries on her shoulder. Emily then rubs her back to soothe her, after a while, it stops crying and changes into a Zorua, much to their shock, and the Zorua gives her a Star Badge.
"A Dark Star Badge." Emily says excitedly.
"What? How?" Gladion asks. Then Ash appears and says, "Oh, I see Emily find one, huh? Your second task is to find crying girls disguised by Zorua and comfort them, once they stop crying, they will give you the badges."
"So now we are babysitters, huh?" Gary asks. "It really is Dark Type indeed."
After the three boys taking a while to comfort the Zoruas, they all get the badge and meet up with others.
"So have you guys comfort the Zoruas? How is it?" Eve asks.
Paul says, "I never thought there will be a trial like this..."
Golly says, "The challenge is actually made by Eve, I am sure that you all like what the task is doing."
This causes Gary to glare at the girl, but she just shrugs as they decide to quickly leave the school to the next town.
After walking for several minutes, they all head to the Quest Town, Golly brings the group to the Fright House and Golly says, "The Fright House belongs to us Ketchum Family, but because it is the Ghost Type Gym, we have to make it scary so that people will be afraid."
"So now we are doing a Ghost Type Trial?" Serena asks with a slight fear as she clings on Mark's arm.
"Yes." Mark says. "Trip, Glaidon, and Emily are the ones who are challenging the trial."
The three then follow Golly and Lillie as they get inside the Fright House. Once they get inside, Lillie gives the three of them cameras.
"Why are we needing this? I could have used mine." Trip says.
"This is our property, so you can only do this since you won't be frightened by the Ghost Type Pokemon. Like the trial in Alola, you'll need to capture a picture of a ghost Pokemon lurking in the room, to make things easier, I suggest you take out a Ghost Pokemon to help you."
The three people are in different rooms, Trip uses Chandelure to find a Aegislash hiding in the armor room. Gladion finds a Tricmir hanging on the wall. And Emily, who uses Mismagius to help finding a Mimikyu that is inside a fake portrait.
Once Lillie checks through the pictures, they get to the second floor as they arrive at the big bedroom.
"Now there are some spooky decorations here, but your second task is to find the badges that is hidden by the ghosts here." Lillie says.
The three of them nod as they start to find, and since the decorations were tricky, Emily decides to cling to Gladion's arm as she couldn't let go. Gladion blushes, but he didn't shake it off as they find the badges together.
"What a coward..." Trip says as he looks at Emily, Emily is too scared to hear anything, but Gladion, bring a brave one, is angry at how Trip is insulting his girlfriend.
"Hey, what did you say? Do you need a punch?" Gladion says at him angrily. "It is normal for girls to get scared, don't you say that to Emily."
"Hmph, whatever." Trip says as he turns around and keeps looking.
After searching for a lot of rooms, they get to Golly's bedroom and they find some Ghost Type Star Badges under the bed. But just as Trip gets the badge, some Gastly burst out from under the bed, and it causes Emily to scream out loud.
Back outside, Golly says, "Looks like they find the badges that I was hiding."
"But what is that scream? What is going on inside?" Dawn asks with a scared tone.
"Just some Ghost Type Pokemon scaring them by bursting out from my bed." Golly says, and this causes the others to tremble. Serena says, "I think I am glad that I'm not the one that enters the house..."
Reisa says, "Come on, those Gastly aren't that bad, oh, here they are."
Emily has been shaking so hard that she is unable to stay still, so Gladion becomes a knight in armor as he decides to do a princess hug with Emily so the Gastly won't get to her. Emily, of course, blushes at how Gladion protects her.
"So you got...Brother? What are you?" Lillie says as she tries not to laugh at the position they were in.
"Stop, Lillie. She is afraid of Gastly and I am just helping her." Gladion says with a blush.
"True. Gastly here are one of the scariest things here in the house." Ash says. "Now let's go."
Once they get outside, Gladion slowly puts Emily down as she stands up and hugs him.
"Can we do that more?" Emily asks Gladion. "I think I enjoy it a little."
"Maybe another time." Gladion says as they all get to meet others.
Here is a new chapter. This time it is a Fire, Dark, and Ghost Trial, and a little imitate part of the Gladion x Emily in the final as well. I hope you like it. The next trials will be Flying, Ice, and Poison.
Here is another news I need to say, I have an account in Wattpad and this story is also inside as well as the other stories, including a Darker Version of this story, which is not the usual Ash and Lillie shipping but with the problem of Ash unable to smile because of the bullies, and the bullies are much meaner than the ones here in this story.
