=Chapter One=

First Isn't Always the Worst

::BEEPBEEPBEEPBEEP::

Kagome opened her eyes only to shut them again from the bright rays of sun filtering in from her dorm room windows.

::BEEPBEEPBEEPBEEP::

She groped around for her alarm clock so she could stop it's incessant complaining.

::BEEPBEEPBEEPBEEP::

Finally not being able to feel it she shot up in bed looking around for it. It somehow had gotten placed on the floor in the middle of the room.

::BEEPBEEPBEEPBEEP::

"GAH!!" Kagome lunged out of bed and pounced the accursed piece of technology.

::BEEPBEEPBEEPBE--::

She breathed a few deep breaths to calm herself down before she heard laughing coming from somewhere to her left. She looked over there to find one of her best friends laughing at her misfortune.

"Sango! Did you move my clock??"

"*Laughing* Yeah, but I did it for your own good. It takes you too long to get out of bed on the first day of school, so I thought I'd prevent that this year." Sango was clutching her sides and almost crying she was laughing so hard.

Kagome got up, alarm clock in hand, and glared at her roommate. "Not. Funny. Sango-chan." She walked over and set her alarm on her nightstand before she started making her bed. "So what do we do on the first day? Is there like an orientation or something, or do we just go to class?"

"Kagome-chan, you've already had enough orientations don't you think? They let you just go to class and get acquainted to your teachers and classmates, and if you're lucky, you don't get homework."

Kagome looked at her and sighed. "What's your first class?"

"I've got Creative Writing II in the Miho Building. What about you?"

"English I in the Miho Building."

"Cool, we can walk together!" Sango looked at her watch and it read 7:00 am. "Well, that is if your class is around the time mine starts…"

"It starts at 8:30."

"Cool, mine's at 9, which means I can walk you there and go hang out with Miroku until I have to go to class."

"Do you really think he's going to come here just to keep you company for half an hour? I doubt he's even up yet."

"No he is, he's got to go to Sesshomaru's at about ten to go pick up some new client or something."

"Ah, I forgot he started working at Yokai Industries. How's that working out for him?"

"So far it's pretty good. Sesshie-chan let him have some supervisor job so he's at least above the other people that work there."

"I doubt that's why he's enjoying it. I heard from Rin that he doesn't have to do very much, which I think helps due to the fact he's got to be up all night at Club Cosmo."

"True. Oh, speaking of which, you're going to work tonight, right?"

"Yeah, of course."

"Ok good. Miroku's got some special shipment coming in tonight and he wants us all to be there."

Kagome raised a brow at her friend. "Any idea what it is?"

Sango shook her head. "No, but I don't think it's good."

"Uh-oh…" Kagome looked ill. "What do you suppose he's up to this time?"

"I dunno, but the last time he got some mysterious shipment in and wanted everyone to be there…" Sango started to turn bright red and growled as she clenched her fists.

Kagome turned a shade of red as well and finished her thought. "…he got the box that had our uniforms in it…"

The girls' uniforms for the night club they worked at, Club Cosmo, were short, tight, and revealing, and each were custom made for each girl. Kagome's was a pink ukata with a practically sheer white tank top to go under it and it barely went past her butt. It was tight fitting and hugged to her curvaceous body and barely stayed shut around her chest, and it had wooden shoes to finish off the outfit. Sango's was a dark blue dominatrix waitress dress that didn't start buttoning till after it got around her mid chest area. It, like Kagome's, barely went past her butt and tightly hugged her figure. Unlike Kagome's though, she had black heels that wound up her legs and black gloves. Finally Rin's was a black leather number that had a band for her chest, a mini skirt, black thigh high boots, and black spider web arm warmers.

"To think he'd have his little sister wear the leather one…" Sango made a face.

"You know, if you're so disturbed by his perverted tendencies, then why are you with him?" Kagome was only half jokingly asking this, but the look on Sango's face made her breakout into a cold sweat. Sango looked distant and as though she were really thinking hard about an answer. "Oh no! Don't tell me you can't think of anything! Now I feel bad! Oh please don't break up with Miro-kun, he'll be so upset and lost without you!" Kagome was flipping out now, but then Sango started laughing, and she immediately stopped and just stared deadpanned at her friend. "You were playing with me weren't you…"

Sango nodded and laughed. "I'm going out with Mi-koi because he's sweet and caring and handsome and a gentleman…even though he's a pervert and sometimes drives me insane." Sango laughed lightheartedly though and Kagome just fell to her bed.

"Please stop doing evil things like this in the morning. I don't think I can take much more."

The girls laughed about everything for a minute before the phone started ringing. Sango got up and answered it.

"Hello? … Oh good morning Mi-koi!"

Sango became enthralled with her phone conversation with Miroku, leaving Kagome to get ready before she went to class. Grabbing up her shower things, she went into their bathroom and started taking a shower. After she was done she came back into their room to find Sango changing into her clothes. She gave Kagome a smile and told her to hurry if they wanted to grab something to eat. Kagome looked at the clock and it read 7:45am. She started dashing around their room trying to dry her hair as she picked out and put on her clothes for the day. She picked out a pair of dark blue denim, low-rise hip-huggers and a green shell with a white, short-sleeved over shirt. After blow-drying her hair, she pulled it into a partial ponytail with her bangs still in her face. Sango was wearing the same kind of hip-huggers as Kagome, except hers had fire around the bottom. She was wearing a red halter top with a black, long-sleeved over shirt tied around her waist and her pink tipped hair was pulled into it's normal high ponytail.

When they finished Kagome and Sango grabbed their bags and books and headed for the coffee shop on campus to grab a quick breakfast. Kagome got a plain bagel and a bottle of milk while Sango got a mocha latté and a blueberry scone. They walked over to a nearby hill and sat under a willow tree that was perched on the top. Kagome checked her watch to find she had thirty minutes.

'Not bad for my first day. Usually I'm running late and wouldn't even be able to grab breakfast. Then again, that was high school and they started at 7am. Ugh, thank goodness for late starting classes. Let's see…' Kagome pulled out her schedule and looked it over while she ate. 'I've got English I in the Miho Building from 8:30 till 10, then I have Literary History 101 in the same building from 10:20 till 12. After that I don't have another class until 3pm and that's Creative Writing I in…the Miho Building. Jeeze, I guess that's where they have all of the English related courses. Ugh, at least they're all in different rooms so I'm not stuck in totally one place all day. So that goes until 4:15 and then I'm finished for the day. Man, I thought I had at least one non-English course on Mondays and Wednesdays. Ugh, to think I did this to myself by taking English as my major. Yuck. Hmm, at least on Tuesdays and Thursdays I've got a change of pace. My first class tomorrow is Advanced Calculus II in Shinji Hall at 9:25am until 10:45 and then I go to Crafts, Pottery, and Jewelry Making 323 in Mari Hall from 11:00 until 1pm. And lastly I've got Creative Drawing I in Mari Hall from 2pm till 3:30pm. Yes it ends early in the afternoon leaving me time to do any homework or studying I may have to do before going to C.C. that night. What's on Friday? Nothing? Hmm, I'm gonna have to find some other job or something in the day because I'm gonna get bored really fast. I kind of wish I would've taken on more classes but Mom didn't want me to be overwhelmed my first semester here at Tokyo U. *sigh* Oh well.' She put her schedule back into her pocket and finished her breakfast.

"Hey Sango-chan, you wanna get going?"

"Yeah, I was just about to ask you the same thing."

The girls stood up and threw away their garbage as they trekked towards their class building. When they got there, Miroku was already parked near it and sitting on the trunk of his car talking to a group of college girls. Sango's eye began to twitch as they all started giggling about something. Kagome started to sweat drop, seeing his impending doom. They slowly walked up to his car unnoticed until Sango cleared her throat. The girls and Miroku stopped laughing to see Sango standing there with her arms crossed over her chest and Kagome standing behind her looking disappointedly at him, but at the same time, scared of what her best-friend might do. Miroku broke out into a sweat and began to laugh nervously.

"Heh-heh, h-hello Sango, dear. Um, nice morning, ne?"

Sango just kept her death glare on him as she cracked her knuckles in two swift motions. All the other girls had since dispersed, not wanting to be hurt as well, and Kagome stayed about ten feet back from the couple.

"N-now I know that that looked bad, but, but it wasn't. They just came up cause they liked my car, and w-we just started talking."

Sango held her glare with him for a few more seconds before bonking him on the head and laughing at her boyfriend. "To honestly think you're afraid of your own girlfriend. Tsk tsk tsk, have you no manly pride?"

Rubbing his head he looked at her as pointedly as his wincing face could. "No, because if I did, I'd get an even worse beating. Besides, I don't need manly pride when I'm around you because you know how manly I really am."

Miroku winked and Sango broke out into a blush. "Sh-Shut up you!" And with that, she added bump number two to his noggin.

Kagome walked up at this time, laughing at Miroku's "pained" face. "You know Sango-chan, Miro-kun really can't take too many beatings to the head, lest he lose what little brain cells he has left."

Sango started laughing as well, only able to nod her response. Miroku made a face at Sango and Kagome before his cell phone began to ring. He picked it up to find Sesshomaru on the line.

While Miroku spoke with Sesshomaru, the girls made some little jokes until he was through. Once off, they immediately gave him the third degree.

"Who was it? What did they want? Is it finally the police threatening to throw you in jail for your perversity?"

The last question caused Miroku to make another face before growing a bit more serious. "No, that was Sesshomaru. He said he needed me to come earlier than expected because his brother's flight was bumped to an earlier time, thus making him arrive earlier."

The girls both looked at him as if he spoke insanity. "Sesshie-sama has a brother?!" Kagome asked shocked.

"What's any of that got to do with you?" Sango asked, hoping he was still going to be able to keep her company for a half an hour.

"Yes. Apparently he has a little half-brother named Inuyasha, I think it was. And it has lots to do with me because I have to go pick him up and bring him to Club Cosmo and show him the ropes before tonight."

"Why do you have to do that," both girls asked in unison.

"Because starting today, Inuyasha's going to be co-manager of C.C. and also help tend bar and just, in general, help run the place."

"Oh~~~~…"

Sango and Miroku started talking about something while Kagome glanced at her watch and almost had a heart attack. "OH MY GOODNESS!!"

The other two both jumped, being startled out of their conversation to only ask the panicked girl, "What?"

"It's 8:28! I'm Gonna Be Late!"

Sango and Miroku automatically looked at their watches as Kagome gave them quick hugs goodbye before running off towards her class. "Bye~~~~!" She shouted as she ran along, waving behind her. The other two just slightly waved, sweat dropping at their friend's antics.

"So, you think she's gonna make it?" Miroku asked, still watching Kagome's rushing form.

"Five bucks says she does," Sango spoke, also still watching Kagome.

"Deal." They shook hands and started talking again.

~*~

Kagome walked out of her class with a sigh. 'To think that I was almost late for my first class. At least I got in on the bell and wasn't the only one running late. Still, I can't believe I already want this day to be over. Ugh, now to go walk to Literary History so I'm not late for that class too.'

She walked up two floors and down a few halls before finding her classroom. Some students were already inside, so she decided to go in too. She sat to the left side and in the middle, near enough to the others to hear what they were talking about, but not so much to be noticed for doing so. She heard them talking about all sorts of different things that really didn't catch her interest, so she decided to take out a notebook and draw. She was just beginning to draw when a group of boys walked in. She looked up and one in particular caught her eye. He was tall and had brown hair and was wearing a pair of baggy black cargo pants and a tighter black shirt. Kagome watched the boy and saw when he started to laugh about something, that he had fangs. 'He reminds me of a wolf…' She looked down at her paper and decided to start drawing a wolf. Before she knew it, she could feel someone standing over her, watching her drawing. She stopped and looked up to find the boy who had come in. He smiled causing her to blush a little before smiling back.

He extended his hand out to her. "Hello. The name's Kouga. Kouga Lang." Kagome, in turn, extended her hand to him. "My name's Kagome Higurashi." Kouga smiled and took her hand in his, kissing the top of it. "It's a pleasure to meet such a beauty as yourself Kagome." Kagome blushed more than she was before.

Kouga released her hand and looked down to her picture and his eyes lit up. "Wow, that's a great sketch Kagome."

"You really think so?"

"Yeah."

"Thank you Kouga."

Kouga took a seat next to Kagome and the two talked to one another until class began.

After it was through and their teacher dismissed them, Kagome and Kouga walked out of class together. "Where are you going next?" Kagome asked as she dodged being run into by the rowdy boys Kouga had walked into class with.

Kouga looked over at his friends that were calling to him and back to Kagome. "Well, I was going to go with them, but I think I'd much rather grab lunch with you. My treat."

Kagome looked at him and turned pink. "Oh no, I couldn't possibly let you do that. I mean, we've just met and all and I wouldn't feel right having you buy me lunch."

Kouga walked in front of Kagome and placed a hand on her arm and looked her in the eyes. "Please allow me to treat you to lunch. I don't care if we've just met or not because I already feel like I've known you." Kagome reddened as she looked back into his eyes, seeing his sincerity. She nodded, not trusting her words and Kouga smiled a winning smile, flashing a glimpse of his fangs. "Thank you Kagome."

The two left the building and Kouga led them to his car. He opened her door for her and she got in before he walked over to his door and got in himself. It was a convertible that seated two with tan leather interior and a sleek, black paint job. Kagome could tell by the looks of his car that Kouga and his family must be been important and wealthy to be able to afford it. Wealthy people usually turned Kagome off because they tended to be snobby and arrogant, but Kouga was different. He didn't dress it or act it, and he didn't even hang out with people who seemed to be that way either. They buckled up and Kouga drove them off campus and to a near by diner. The two went inside and sat down by the window. A waitress soon came and took their orders, Kagome ordering tea and a turkey salad and Kouga ordering a double cheeseburger with fries and a chocolate shake. They started talking about the different courses they were taking and then the subject of Kagome's picture rolled around.

"So what made you start drawing a wolf? Do you like them?"

Kagome blushed and looked down. "Um, it's not anything like that. I mean, I like wolves and all, but it's not the reason I started to draw one."

Kouga raised an eyebrow at her. 'Why's she blushing?' "Oh?"

Kagome nodded before looking up to him. "I started drawing it…because of you."

Kouga raised both brows and started to turn a little pink himself. "You did?"

"Uh-huh. When I saw you and your friends walk in, you were laughing about something, and I saw your fangs, and you just reminded me of a wolf."

"I see." He smiled and placed his hand on hers, which was resting on the table. Kagome looked to his hand before looking back to him. "It's funny you should feel that way because my friends and I are known as The Wolf Pack."

"You're in a gang?" This made her nervous.

"What? Oh no, no, nothing like that. You see, we've all known each other since we first began school as children, and we've always been with each other. I guess it reminded other people of a wolf pack, always sticking together, and so, we just got dubbed that."

"Oh. Well that sounds cool. It's great that you and your friends have stayed together since you were little. How old are you all now?"

"We're 20 and 21. I'm 21 myself."

Kagome's eyes widened a bit. 'He's 21? That makes him a senior here! Oh my, he really doesn't look like he's over 19.'

"What about you Kagome?"

"M-me? I'm only 18."

Now Kouga's eyes widened a little. "No way."

She nodded. "I am. I just started school here today."

"Wow. I thought you were at least 19, maybe even 20."

"Nope. I'm just a child."

Kagome looked down and began to feel stupid and awkward. This didn't go unnoticed by Kouga and he gently squeezed her hand. She looked up and he just looked kindly back to her. "Don't say that, you're not a child at all. In fact, you're one of the most mature girls I've ever met. Please don't feel like an idiot for being younger than I am, because your age is just a number. It's what's on the inside that matters most, and I can tell that you have a good heart Kagome-chan."

Kagome melted. 'He called me Kagome-chan. He's so sweet.' "Thank you, Kouga-kun."

Kouga smiled sweetly and just began to feel happiness swelling up inside. 'What is this feeling? She's so sweet and beautiful, and to only be 18? Her parents raised her well. I…I wish her to be mine. I want Kagome to be my girlfriend, but how to let her know? We've only just met and I'm sure that she would feel uncomfortable because of that, but still. I know, I'll ask her out again.' "Kagome… would you like to go out again tomorrow evening?"

Kagome almost had a heart attack and the butterflies in her stomach started to try and break free. "T-tomorrow evening?" 'Yes, yes, say yes Kagome! But what about work? Wait, I don't have to go in until nine! Yes.' "Sure. I don't have to be to work until nine."

"That's great. How about dinner then at around six?"

"Perfect."

"Perfect."

The two smiled at one another when their food arrived. They idly talked about college life, before Kagome almost spit out her tea in shock. Kouga had taken a bunch of fries, scooped them in his chocolate shake, and eaten them. Kouga noticed the shocked look on Kagome's face and started to blush. "Oh sorry about that. I'm guessing you've never tried that before."

Kagome shook her head. "No, I haven't, but please don't feel bad. It just took me a little off guard is all." She watched as he smiled and did it again, peaking her interest. "Do you think that I could try?"

Kouga looked up to her and smiled happily. "Yeah sure, knock yourself out."

Kagome took a fry and dipped it into his shake before taking a bite. At first she didn't know what to think, but then as she chewed it up, she realized just how delicious the concoction was. She smiled happily. "Mmm, that's really good Kouga. Where'd you learn to try that?"

"Oh, one of my friends dared me to do it once. Too bad for him it ended up being a delicious dare."

"It's not bad for us though because now it's something for us to eat." Kagome smiled cheerfully as she took a few fries and dipped them in his shake before eating them as well.

Kouga watched in amazement at just how much he and she had both relaxed and how she said 'us'. He liked the sound of them being 'us'. She was just so incredible, he felt himself warm inside every time she smiled at him. He couldn't wait until their date tomorrow night. 'I hope it doesn't make her late for her job though. Oh hey, that's right, I wonder where she works.' "Hey Kagome, where do you work? I could drop you there after our date tomorrow."

Kagome faltered, but didn't enough for Kouga to notice. "Where do I work?"

"Yeah."

"Oh, um, have you heard of the night club, Club Cosmo?"

Kouga racked his brain for a moment before the light bulb turned on. "Yeah, isn't it over on State Street?"

"Mm-hmm."

Kouga's eyes widened. "You mean you work there??" He almost died. He personally had never been there since it was rather new to the area, only opening up at the beginning of summer, but he had heard all sorts of stories about it. How the girls who worked there were beautiful and how they dressed and how sometimes, the girls danced on the bars and tables. He almost had a nose bleed just thinking about what kind of outfit she wore.

Kagome shifted nervously in her seat at his reaction. "Y-yes."

"D-does that mean that you, um, do the table shows?" He hoped to not sound like he was perverted, he was just worried that she was too young to be objectified like that.

"What?! No! Oh no! There's a strict rule that I don't do it. The owner of the club doesn't allow any of the girls that work there under twenty-one to do that. He feels that it's not right for us to be on show like that with us being so young."

"Oh, that's good."

"But…"

His stomach jumped. "But?"

"But…I still have to wear those AWFUL uniforms. Ugh, one of these days I'm going to kill Miroku for getting those."

"Miroku? Is he the owner?"

"Oh, no. Miroku is the manager and he's the one that started all of the perversity that Club Cosmo has."

"And the owner allows it?"

"Well, I'm not entirely sure if Sesshomaru likes that we're doing what we do, but if it's bringing in the costumers the way it is, he's not going to stop it."

"What? That's kinda shady."

"Yeah, but Sesshomaru-sama's always way too busy with Yokai Industries to really focus on Club Cosmo."

"Wow."

"I guess."

The two finished eating and Kouga paid the bill. As they walked outside, Kagome glanced at her watch. It was 1pm. She decided it was best for her to go back to her dorm for the moment and read before going to her last class. "Hey Kouga?"

"Yeah?"

"Do you think you could drop me off at my dorm? I want to get some reading done before my next class."

"Yeah sure. I have a class at 1:30 anyways, so I have to get back."

The pair got into his car and drove back to Tokyo U. Once there, Kagome told him where she was staying and he took her over. She got out and thanked him for his kindness and for lunch before closing the door and watching him drive away. Kagome walked up to her room and laid down to read until her next class began.

~*~

Kagome had fallen asleep, but luckily Sango had come up around 2pm and found her asleep on her bed. Sango walked over to Kagome's sleeping form and gently shook her shoulder.

"Kagome-chan? Wake up. Don't you have class soon?"

Kagome blinked away her drowsiness as she sat up. "Huh? Sango-chan? What time is it?"

"It's 2."

"Oh, good. My class isn't until three."

"What do you have?"

"Creative Writing I."

"Ah. I just got out of Politics and I have Business Law in half an hour."

"So you're really going to go into law huh?"

"Yep. Miroku thinks I'm crazy, but I'm really enjoying this as my major."

Kagome couldn't help but smile at her friend's happiness. "Hey, just promise me you're not going to turn into some snob politician, ok?"

"I promise. Besides, if I did, I think I'd have you shoot me."

The girls laughed before Kagome remembered Kouga. "Oh Sango! Guess what!"

"What is it? Were you late for your first class?"

"Huh? No, I made it on the bell. But that's not it." Kagome couldn't keep her sudden giddiness contained. "I met someone today."

Sango's eyes widened and she just smiled broadly. "You did?? Who is he? How old? What year? Is he in your class? Spill!"

Kagome raised her hands up in defense. "Ok, ok, calm down. He's in my literary history class and he's 21, making him a senior."

"Oh Kagome, he's three years older than you are. Are you sure you're ok with that and he's not just some creep?"

"Yeah, I'm sure. He's really sweet and he doesn't look a day over 19. His name's Kouga Lang and he's one of the guys in the Wolf Pack."

Sango almost fell over. "WHAT?! KOUGA?! YOU LIKE KOUGA?!?!?!"

Kagome looked at Sango as if she'd gone crazy. "What's the matter with you? And him?"

Sango placed her hands on her best-friend's shoulders and looked her in the eyes. "Kagome, you DO NOT want to get involved with Kouga Lang. He's one of THE BIGGEST jerks, perverts, and assholes at Tokyo U."

Kagome shook her head. "No, no you're wrong. Kouga's really sweet Sango."

"Kagome, please believe me when I tell you that you do not want to give into his false charms. He's got money, he can have any girl he wants, and he's just going to use you for sex and that's it. He's got a rep that's bigger than I can possibly even begin to make a dent in. He and his gang are notorious for vandalism, hate crimes, battery, and so much more. He's a bad egg, girl, ask anyone."

Kagome had heard enough. She wasn't going to listen to all of this hearsay. She liked Kouga, a lot, and she wasn't about to lose him just because Sango didn't like him. Sango didn't meet him today. Sango wasn't offered lunch by him today. Sango didn't have one of the best conversations of her life with him today. SANGO DIDN'T HAVE THE TIME OF HER LIFE WITH HIM TODAY! Kagome brushed Sango's hands off of her and got up. She grabbed her bag and purse and headed towards the door. She wasn't about to listen to her bad mouth her new friend and possible boyfriend. Sango looked at Kagome worriedly.

"Kagome, where are you going?"

"I'm going out."

"But to where? You don't have class until 3."

"I don't care. I'm not about to sit here and listen to you tell me all of this shit about Kouga when you weren't there today with him. He's kind, sweet, generous, and the nicest guy I've ever met. I really like him Sango and if you can't be happy that I've found my first real boyfriend, then I don't know what to tell you aside from the fact that I'm not going to sit here and listen to you bad mouth him."

With that Kagome opened the door to their dorm room and left, slamming it behind her. Sango winced at the slamming of the door and felt a great sadness build up inside her.

"Kagome… Why don't you listen to me? Y-You're in danger and you won't even listen… Don't you know that… That I… That he…" she stopped her whispering to herself as tears started to fall from her eyes and slide down her cheeks. She began to wipe them away with a tissue when her cat Kirara and Kagome's cat Buyo came up and circled her feet. The girl cats looked up to her and meowed, sensing her sadness and distress. Sango knelt down and pet them both before she stood back up, grabbed her bag and purse, and headed for class.

~*~

Kagome stalked out of her dorm building and began walking around campus. She didn't care what Sango said, she wanted to get to know Kouga for herself and she was going to prove to her that he WAS a good person, and not as bad as people say. She ended up walking to the hill that she and Sango had sat on that morning and played games on her cell phone as she killed time before her class.

~*~

After Kagome left her creative writing class at 4:15pm, she decided to head back to her dorm and work on her homework assignments. She had to write a paper about herself for creative writing, finish reading the first four chapters of a book for literary history, and write the definitions for 100 vocabulary words for English I. She heaved a sigh and trudged along back to Ryo Hall and back up to the third floor where hers and Sango's room was located. Once inside she headed straight for her desk, happy Sango wasn't around. She decided to finish reading before anything else and after she was done she was going to work on her vocabulary and finally her paper. It wasn't all due until next Monday, but she'd rather have it done now.

Two hours passed and Sango came home. Kagome completely ignored her. Sango went and fed Kirara and Buyo before jumping in the shower. Kagome was almost finished with her vocabulary definitions and she was thankful because she was sure she would have more work tomorrow, not to mention she had her date with Kouga and her job. Kagome finished up her vocab by the time Sango was out of the shower, so she switched and took a shower herself. When she got out, Sango had already left for Cosmo's, leaving only a note to inform Kagome of so. She felt a little bad for still being upset with Sango over it all, but she wasn't going to relent yet. Not until she and Kouga had their date tomorrow evening. She threw away the note and changed into tan shorts and a white tank-top before she combed out her hair and put her work clothes in her backpack. There was no way she was riding her bike to work in her uniform, she'd flash everyone she went by. A light blush crept upon her cheeks at the thought of such public exposure and she wanted to die. She hurried out the door and down to the bike racks in front of Ryo Hall. She unlocked her bike and rode off to Club Cosmo.

The notorious night club was located about a mile and a half from Tokyo University campus, and since it opened in the summer, its most popular customers were, of course, the students and staff of Tokyo U. Kagome just prayed that none of her teachers or classmates were there because she'd absolutely die to have one of them see her in her uniform. 'At least I don't do the dancing…' To this day she was thanking whoever was listening that she wasn't allowed to and was made to stay behind the bar 99% of the time due to her age and innocence. At least, that's what Miroku said, though she had a feeling that Rin and Sango were the main pushers for that. A smile crept across her face at how her friends looked out for her, and then she realized that that was exactly what Sango was trying to do. A huge guilt trip hit Kagome like a ton of bricks and she decided to not wait until tomorrow to apologize to Sango. She WAS one of her best-friends after all…

Kagome arrived in front of C.C. at 7pm, one hour before they opened to the public. She chained up her bike and walked inside. Before going into the ladies' room to change, she headed up to the bar to see what Miroku needed them all there early for.

Author's Notes: Hello everyone, I'm Zero Saotome. ^_^ I hope you enjoyed the first chapter of my very first Inu-Yasha fanfiction. I think I did rather well considering and it hopefully pleases you all. I know that it wasn't all too eventful yet, but I had to set everything up. I have a very good idea as to where I want to take this story, but setting it up is always my problem, so my first two chapters tend to suck. So if this one wasn't very good, I apologize, and I promise that it will get better. I have the pairings all planned out, but I'm not gonna tell them. You get to guess. ^_^ =Þ I know, I'm cruel. *evil Naga type laughter* :gets beaten with a pointy stick: X_x Sorry, it's 3am and I've got school tomorrow (today? O_o) morning and I don't want to go. I hate school, especially when I'm supposed to be waking up for it in three hours… :shakes her fist: Ok, this is getting long and pointless so I'm going to wrap it up now. If you have any questions or comments, please, by all means, review. Also, if you have constructive criticism or suggestions, I'll be more than happy to read them. BUT, if you flame me, I will be forced to retort, publicly embarrass you, and use your flames to help further my modest career of a pyrotechnic demolitionist. ^_~ BUT JUST BECAUSE I'M USING THEM FOR THAT DOESN'T MEAN IT'S ALRIGHT TO FLAME ME!! *sniffles* ;_; I have feelings too ya know… :gets evil glares: *coughs* I'm going to take that as my queue to leave. Please review and I'll hopefully get the next chapter out within a week or so. T_T() Until then, thank you and good night. ^_^ 3
