Author's Notes: Ok, I give you all the right to flay me to death and then stab me with rusty spoons for taking FOREVER to get this damned chapter out. I really am sorry it took like two years to get up. So much bullshit, so little time to deal with it all. Between my family, my friends, my friends' families, my schooling, my psycho ex-boyfriend, and my being sick constantly, I'm surprised I finally got this up and out. More on that miracle at the end of this chapter. For now, on to the disclaimer!

Disclaimer: I do not own the cast of Inu-Yasha for if I did… Kikyo would have NEVER been reborn… Sorry, but she's such a bitch when she comes back… But yes, please stop reminding me I don't own this wonderful anime and Rumiko Takahashi does because it makes me oh so sad. ;; And a sad writer is a bad writer.

Now without further delay, I present to you :drum roll: CHAPTER THREE! Yay!

Chapter Three

Hospital Hi-Jinx

Inuyasha awoke to the sound of someone entering his room. At first he had forgotten where he was and for what reason, but as he began to smell rubbing alcohol, it all came flooding back to him. Inuyasha's eyes shot open and hesat up to see Jen, the nurse from before, cleaning one of Kagome's cuts with rubbing alcohol before applying a new bandage. He quickly regretted his fast movements as his head began to swim and his vision turned black. He fell back onto the pillows of his hospital bed and groaned, closing his eyes to keep from getting motion sickness. Nurse Jen turned to him and stifled a giggle.

"It's not smart to do that when you've lost so muchblood."

Inuyasha kept from growling as he mumbled a, "Yeah, so I noticed."

Jen walked over to Inuyasha. "Now, now, there's no need to be grouchy. Besides, I thought you'd be happy to hear that Kagome is doing much better."

Inuyasha opened his eyes and a wave of relief flooded his being. "She is?"

Jen nodded and smiled gently. Inuyasha slowly sat up and looked over to Kagome and saw that she had been taken off of the respirator, the heart monitor, and that he and she were not hooked up to the blood purifier any longer. He turned his amber gaze back towards the nurse, a look of wonder as to how long they had been disconnected floating in his eyes.

"What time is it?"

"It's nine in the morning."

Inuyasha looked down to his lap, trying to shift all of his thoughts into the right places. He looked back up to Jen with curiosity. "When are we allowed to leave?"

"Today."

"Great. Thanks," he spoke, relieved he wasn't being kept.

Nurse Jen smiled before leaving their room once more. Inuyasha looked around the room lazily, finally being able to check out his surroundings. The room was small and had a door in front of the beds with two small windows on each side. To the right of the door hung a TV-VCR. There was a little chair under the TV, on which hung Kagome's clothes and her purse. He got up and walked over to her purse, deciding on getting to know his mystery girl. He rummaged through it and found some pictures, make-up, a cell phone, and a school ID. He looked it over to find that she was a freshman at Tokyo U and was staying in the same dormitory as he was, Ryo Hall. Deciding on putting everything away incase she woke up, he crawled back into his own bed to take a small nap.

'Might as well, it's not like there's anything else for me to do to pass the time until we're released…'

With that last thought, Inuyasha fell into a light sleep.

Miroku and Sango walked up to the front desk of the main floor, Rin and Sesshomaru right behind them. The nurse looked up to them and smiled.

"Hello and welcome to Sengoku Jidai Hospital. How may I help you?"

Miroku took a step forward, grasped the nurse's hand in his, and smiled handsomely. "Oh, you can help me in many ways, my dear. You are as beautiful as a flower and smell just as sweet. Please, fair one, answer me this:wouldaccept the honor of bearing my childr--"

Miroku was cut off by Sango smacking him good and hard on the head with a nearby clipboard, which broke on impact. He instantly fell to the ground unconscious and the nurse went from looking flattered to looking shocked. Sango continued to shoot a death glare at Miroku's limp form while Sesshomaru stepped up to the desk.

"Pay them no mind, this happens every day. We were wondering if you could help us find two of our friends. They came in last night through the E.R. One is a Miss Kagome Higurashi, and the other is my little brother, Inuyasha Seki. I believe they're in room 204, but we're not sure if we can visit them, as of yet."

Sesshomaru, like always, was calm and cool with an air of elegance that sent shivers up and down the nurse's spine. He was so gorgeous she could hardly contain herself from jumping the desk and glomping him like a fan girl. Rin took note of this and attached herself securely to Sesshomaru's left arm, emanating an aura of possessiveness. Sesshie felt it and couldn't help but smile. He turned to look at the nurse, prompting her to answer him, not sure ifhe had been heard in thefirst place. The front desk nurse snapped back to reality with an 'oh!' and started clacking away at the computer in front of her. After a minute she smiled.

"Here they are. Higurashi, Kagome and Seki, Inuyasha. They're both listed as stable, able to have visitors, and are to be released today. They are, as you suspected, in room 204. You can take the elevator to your left to the second floor and head to their room. I'll inform the floor's desk that you're coming."

Sesshomaru nodded his head to her in thanks before walking with Rin, still on his arm, over to the elevators. Sango was right behind them pushing a wheelchair with the unconscious Miroku in it. There was no way in hellshe was dragging his sorry ass upstairs. They stepped in and rode the short ride to the second floor, stepped off, and walked down the hall to room 204. Sesshomaru opened the door and lead the procession inside. Sango walked up to Kagome's bed after parking Miroku in the corner with a dunce hat on (where she pulled that out of no one was sure). Rin walked over next to her and they both looked down at their friend.

Kagome's arms were bandaged up and she had some bandages wrapped around her head and one taped to her cheek. She wasn't hooked up to anything , but the IV plugs were still in her arms. She was in a hospital gown and her school girl uniform was hanging over the back of a chair. Sesshomaru walked over to Inuyasha and found him still in his clothes with his hands and arms bandaged up. Why that was he wasn't entirely sure. He knew why the IVplugs were in his arms, but not as to why the rest of the arms were bandaged. Then it clicked, she must have been full of glass when he picked her up bridal style. He turned back to Rin and Sango and traded places. He looked Kagome over while the girls looked over Inuyasha.

Inuyashacould feel someone watching him and he just figured it was the nurse he saw before, but when he felt someone brush his bangs from his eyes, he opened themto find two girls standing over him. He blinked and brought up his left hand to rub his eyes before blinking up at the girls again. Rin and Sango giggled before Rin turned her head away.

"Sesshie-koi, your little brother's awake."

Sesshomaru regally walked over to Inuyasha's bed. Inuyasha blinked again and raised an eyebrow at his brother in a 'and they are?' kind of look. Sesshomaru shook his head and started to introduce the girls. "Inuyasha, this is Rin Kamiya, Miroku's little sister and my girlfriend, whom I believe you briefly met last night, and this is Sango Himimiya, Miroku's girlfriend and, like Rin, a waitress at Club Cosmo."

Inuyasha nodded to each of them, while trying to comprehend anyone wanting to date his brother, let alone Miroku the letch. He slowly sat up and smiled a hello before turning to his brother. He gave him a questioning look as to how long he and Rin had been going out, but was only met with a growl. Sweatdropping he decided to look away. Then they heard it, a small moan from the other bed. Everyone's headssnapped to the right and saw Kagome's hand come up to her head, making another pained moan. Sango and Rin were instantly at her bedside, but the brothers stayed where they were.

Kagome warily opened her eyes and at first her vision was blurry and it made her head spin, but after a few blinks she saw Sango and Rin's worried faces come into sight. "Sango-chan? Rin-chan?"

The girls took her left hand in theirs. "We're here Kagome-chan," Sango replied gently.

"We all are," Rin added in.

At first, Kagome wasn't sure what was going on and why they looked so worried, but then she saw she wasn't in her room. Eyes widening, she tried to move but cried out slightly in pain as her bandaged arms and legs reminded her of their stiffness and gashes. Everything shot back to memory. The drunk, the glass, not being able to breathe, the blood, …her savior. Who? Who was the man with the golden yellow eyes? Kagome looked back to her friends. "I…I remember the drunkard and all the broken glass and all the pain, but what I don't remember, or even know for that matter is…" Kagome slowly sat up before asking the most important question. "Who…Who saved me? I was only able to make out blurred clothes, but… those eyes. He had piercing, golden yellow eyes. Tell me, do you know who he is? I'd like to thank him."

Sango and Rin looked at each other and smiled before turning their heads in the direction of the boys. Kagome slowly looked over to where her friends were looking and immediately locked eyes with the same piercing ones from the night before. She couldn't take her gaze away and it seemed as though, Inuyasha was having the same problem. Sango nudged Rin in the side with her elbow, gaining an all knowing glance from her. Sesshomaru could only watch in amusement, knowing there was going to be a long future between those two.

Rin cleared her throat, snapping the two back to attention. Kagome turned bright red and Inuyasha coughed, looking away, slightly red as well. Rin smiled and proceeded to introduceKagome'sknight in…red street clothes? Changing her voice to sound like a game show host she began.

"Kagome, you have chosen contestant number one! He is Sesshomaru's little half-brother, 21, currently single, and our new co-worker at Club Cosmo. His current place of residence is the fourth floor of your dormitory, and he's a senior transfer student at Tokyo University. He is also your savior from the drunkard and your blood donor. We're all pleased to introduce you to, Inuyasha Seki."

Sango and Rin were now on the floor in tears they were laughing so hard, and Sesshomaru couldn't help but laugh a bit too at the looks on Kagome and Inuyasha's faces. Kagome was one of complete confusion while Inuyasha's was one of utter annoyance.

Kagome looked up from her friends on the floor and over to Inuyasha. "Um, thank you for all of your help last night, Inuyasha-san."

Inu looked over to her and saw the sincerity in her eyes, but as soon as he hadn't heard any laughing and saw that all eyes were on him, he turned his head, crossed his arms (which hurt but he wasn't going to let on), and turned into the smug asshole we all know he is. "Keh, whatever. Just next time watch out for yourself because there's no guarantee someone's gonna notice and save your sorry ass again."

Silence followed what he had said, and as he turned to look at Kagome again, he could only see pain and anger and tears of both swimming in her eyes. Instantly he began to beat himself up inside, but it didn't last long.

"You… You Fucking Jerk! Here I am thanking you and you just act as though it was something you shouldn't have even had to do, much less something you wanted to do!"

Sango and Rin, who were now standing, watched with wide eyes at the exchange. Sesshomaru placed his head in his hands. 'Oh brother, why are you so stupid…?'

"You're damn right you stupid girl! Maybe if you paid attention to what you were doing, you wouldn't have had the problem you did. And you better thank me, because if it weren't for me, you'd 've been the dinner show!"

"Argh, you asshole!"

"Wench!"

"Bastard!"

"Bitch!"

"Dog boy!"

Inuyasha stopped dead. 'Did she just call me "Dog boy"! Oh that's it…'

Just as Inuyasha was going to go overboard, three orderlies came rushing into the room. "What Is Going On In Here!"

All heads, including Miroku's (who had woken up from the screaming match), turned to the door and were immediately at a loss for words.

Sesshomaru took control of the situation with ease. "Nothing, I assure you. Just a little lovers spat is all, but it is over now."

Inuyasha and Kagome bit back their retorts at the looks on the orderlies' faces and at least had the decency to look embarrassed when the three looked at them.

The head of the three gave a hard glare at the couple before turning back to Sesshomaru. "That is still no excuse for such screaming and language. May I remind you that you ARE in a hospital and unless you six learn to keep your indoor voices in place, you four are going to have to leave."

"Of course. We all understand completely. Don't we?"

The other five occupants of the room nodded and the orderlies left. Sesshie sighed and rubbed his temples. "Rin-chan?"

"Yeah?"

"Please go to the nurses' station and have them page Inuyasha and Kagome's doctor. I believe the sooner we get these two discharged, the better off we'll all be."

Rin nodded and left the room in the direction of the nurses' station. Sango walked over to the chair that had Kagome's clothes on it, figuring they should get her things together so she's ready to leave, and almost cried out when she saw the state of her clothing. There were holes, rips, tears, and blood and alcoholstainsall over the brand new blouse and skirt, rendering it even more indecent than it had been in the first place.

"Oh no."

Everyone looked over to where she was standing. "What is it, Sango-chan?"

Sango turned around to show her best friend her clothing. "This is it. I'm afraid your new uniform isn't in any shape for you to wear. It's completely ruined."

Kagome looked at the ruined clothing in Sango's hands and felt tears welling up in her eyes. "Oh dammit. Now what am I supposed to wear? I can't leave in this gown, it's even worse than our old uniforms."

Inuyasha, who had remained quiet since they were all yelled at, had been watching everyone and listening to what they were saying. He looked over to Kagome and saw that she had her face in her hands, presumably crying, and felt a wave of guilt wash over him. Not only had he yelled at her for no reason, but had practically said that it was all her fault that she had been manhandled in the first place. Sitting up carefully, Inuyasha reached to his back pocket and pulled out his wallet. After flipping through some of the bills he had in there, he pulled out $50 and looked over to Sango.

"Um, Sango-san?"

Sango looked over to the now modest and polite Inuyasha with a slightly startled look. "Yes, Inuyasha?"

Inuyasha held out the bill to her. "Here. Do you think you could do me a favor and run across the street to the department store and pick up some clothes for Kagome-san?"

Kagome turned to Inuyasha with wide eyes at his sudden change of tune. Inuyasha kept his gaze towards Sango, feeling a small heat rise up his face. "Please?"

Sango just nodded dumbly. "Of course." She took the currency from his hands before turning to Miroku. "Come on, letch. It's your fault her clothes are so scandalous in the first place, so you're coming with me to buy her some proper ones."

Miroku just followed his girlfriend out the door, without any sort of comment, knowing full well that she was right. It was his fault that their uniforms were so indecent, but it kept the club open. He'd just have to make sure there was security in there from now on to make sure nothing like this happened again. After the couple left, Sesshomaru also excused himself to go find where Rin had disappeared to, claiming that it shouldn't take her this long.

Kagome looked down at her lap, feeling awkward at being left alone in the same room as Inuyasha. She went over the day's events in her head and couldn't figure out if she was still pissed off at him or if she wanted to just go over to his bed and kiss him in gratitude for everything. She turned her head to look at Inuyasha, who had suddenly found his hands very interesting, and cleared her throat. Inuyasha looked up and met her gaze. It was just like before, where no matter how much they denied to themselves that they would want anything to do with the other, they just felt immediate attraction.

Kagome tried to speak, but her words came out a lot quieter than she had meant them to. "I-Inuyasha…you really didn't need to--"

Inuyasha cut her off with a raise of his hand. "I know I didn't need to give Sango money to buy you clothes, but I wanted to. Kagome, I'm sorry about earlier. Really. I didn't mean to get into a fight with you like that."

Kagome looked startled for what seemed the tenth time since she'd awoken that morning. Once more, Inuyasha had surprised her and showed her that he wasn't just some guy looking to save her to get with her later, nor was he the asshole who had all but said she thrust herself at the man in the bar. Now he was not only freely giving out money to buy her a new set of clothes because hers were ruined, but he was apologizing for earlier. Kagome just nodded her acceptance of his apology, not trusting her words. Inuyasha got up and walked over to the side of her bed, gently sitting down next to her.

"Um, are you alright now? You're not in a lot of pain or anything are you?"

Kagome shook her head. "N-no, I'm feeling much better than I did last night. Thank you for your concern, and, well, everything else. We've only just met, but you gave me your blood and you've just sent one of my friends to buy me areplacement set of clothes. I feel as though I should repay you somehow for your kindness."

Now it was Inuyasha's turn to shake his head. "No, it's ok. You don't owe me anything. I still feel really bad for yelling at you earlier. It was really wrong for me to. It was just, everyone was staring at me and you like we were on a soap opera or something, and I just couldn't take it."

"Yeah, I know what you mean. This all seems rather rehearsed, doesn't it?"

Inuyasha laughed a little. "Yeah. You're the damsel in distress and I'm your knight in not so shining armor, right?"

Kagome began to laugh. "Yeah, except I didn't fall and twist my ankle."

Inuyasha started to laugh again as well. "Yeah, that definitely would've been the cliché thing to do."

The couple shared such a laugh that they were holding on to the other for support. "But Miroku didn't die," Kagome brought up between giggles. "The funny one always goes first."

"I thought," Inuyasha started, gasping slightly for air, "I thought he was just a perv."

"He's that too," she giggled out.

Kagome lifted her head from Inuyasha's chest as he lifted his from her shoulder. Their giggles slowly died away, tears shining in their eyes from laughing so hard.

"And now," Inuyasha spoke softly, as their faces came nearer, "this is the part…"

"…where the heroin and hero…"

"…kiss."

With the word 'kiss' whispered onto Kagome's lips, the space between the two closed completely, as Inuyasha gently applied his lips upon hers. Their eyes fell closed as their lips danced together slowly, in the sweetest kiss Kagome had ever experienced. But, just like any other kiss, it has to end eventually. As they pulled apart and chocolate once again gazed into amber, the link they felt between each other ignited and they kissed once more. More fervent than before, this kiss had Inuyasha's hands tangled in Kagome's hair while her hands gripped his shirt gently. Just as his tongue was sneaking out of his mouth and into hers, Sesshomaru, Rin, and Dr. Cho walked into their room, adding to the cliché soap operatic feeling Kagome and Inuyasha had been laughing about before.

Dr. Cho cleared his throat, causing Inuyasha and Kagome freeze up beforequickly jumping apart. Kagome winced in pain from the quick movement, but it wasn't as bad as it had been earlier. Inuyasha just stood next to the bed, finding his beat up black and red Converse VERY interesting. Dr. Cho smiled at the duo before walking over to the other side of Kagome's bed. Rin and Sesshomaru stayed near the door, giving one another knowing looks.

Dr. Cho checked Kagome's vitals and her more severe injuries where stitches had to be used, before taking out the IV ports and bandaging where they had been. He checked Inuyasha's vitals and did the same to his IV ports before turning to the two of them.

"Well I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is that you both with make a full recovery. The bad news is that Kagome here isn't going to be able to do anything for at least a week and Inuyasha for at least two days."

"You mean, I can't even go to my classes?"

Dr. Cho shook his head at her. "I'm afraid not. Between carrying all your books and supplies, walking up all the stairs, and moving around to do whatever you need to do, you'd run too high a risk to opening up your wounds. No, I'm going to send a letter to the headmaster at Tokyo U telling him that you will not be able to come to school for at least a week. Also, you will not be able to work, so you might want to let your boss know. Same goes for you Inuyasha. I'll write a note saying you'll be off for two days, but you need to tell your boss."

Kagome and Inuyasha looked over to Sesshomaru. "Well, you heard the man, we can't work."

Dr. Cho looked at Sesshomaru. "You're their boss?"

Sesshomaru just nodded. "Yes, why?"

Dr. Cho shook his head. "No reason. Just amusing is all. Well, I'll be right back. Oh, one more thing."

The doctor looked over to a still slightly flustered Kagome. "You'll need to come backwhen your week is up to have those stitches removed."

Kagome nodded. Dr. Cho smiled before leaving the room to go finish up the duo's release papers and his note to the Tokyo U headmaster. Sango and Miroku walked in a minute later with two bags in their hands.

"We're back," Sango announced happily. "What'd the doctor say?"

"That we get to go home, but have to take it easy."

"I see." Sango turned to the guys. "Well, you three need to leave the room for a few minutes while Rin and I help Kagome get into her clothes." Sango sent them a death glare before pointing towards the door. The three guys shuffled out before it got violent, leaving Rin and Sango to lock the door and close the blinds before helping Kagome out of bed.

Sango pulled out a cute summer dress with thin straps, that went down to Kagome's ankles and took the tags off. "Here Kagome-chan. I got it for you in pink, I hope you don't mind."

Kagome shook her head. "No, I like it, it's really cute."

After donning a new bra and panties set Sango had bought, much to the delight of Miroku when they had entered the underwear section, the two girls helped their friend into her dress. Sango then pulled out a pair of white knee socks andpink slip-on shoes, helping Kagome put them on as well, while Rin took the tags off the white button up sweater Sango had gotten for over the dress.

When Kagome was finally dressed, the girls decided to do Kagome's hair and make-up as well. Kagome felt so lucky to have such great friends as she did, that she nearly messed up the make-up Rin had put on, crying.

"Thank you so much you two. I don't know what I'd do without you."

Sango and Rin smiled and gently hugged their injured friend. "You're welcome, Kagome-chan," they chorused together.

There was a soft knock on the door, followed by Sesshomaru's voice asking if Kagome was dressed. Sango stood up and dug through the last bag, smiling and saying she had a present for her.

"What do you mean?"

"Well, there was no way all these clothes were just from the money that Inuyasha had given me, as I'm sure you guessed. His money paid for the dress, shoes, and sweater, but Sesshomaru and Rin had given me $25 as well, which went to your socks and underwear set, and Miroku and I had pitched in $10 for this." Sango pulled out a white summer hat with a pink ribbon and bow. "We figured it'd help hide the bandages around your head so you'd feel less self-conscious."

Tears threatened Kagome's eyes again as she gently placed the hat upon her head. Rin opened the door and let the boys back in, smiling at how much better her young friend already was. Kagome looked at all her friends and nearly broke out in tears.

"Thank you, all of you, so much. You're the best friends anyone could ever be so blessed to have. I'm so lucky, but only because I have your support, even from you Inuyasha, and we've only just met. Thank you."

Her friends all smiled as Dr. Cho entered the room once more, telling them that Kagome and Inuyasha were free to go. Everyone thanked him and the small group left for the elevator. Once downstairs, Sesshomaru called his limo driver and within seconds, the sleek black limo was pulling up in front of the hospital. The driver hopped out and opened the door for the group to enter the back. Sesshomaru helped Rin in before entering, followed by Miroku helping Sango in, then entering himself. Inuyasha held out his hand to help steady Kagome as she carefully got into the limo. She cautiously slid across the black leather seat, making room for Inuyasha to enter and sit down next to her. The driver closed the door and got into his seat, taking the limo out of park, and out of the hospital lot.

Kagome looked around the inside of Sesshomaru's limo. She had been in limos before thanks to him, but this one was new, and more interesting than the others. There were seats along theright side of the car as well as the front and back, a bar along the left side of the car with a small TV and DVD combo, and soft white LEDs lined the ceiling and around the doors. It was very nice and had soft Buddhist temple music playing over the stereo, adding to the calming atmosphere.

"I really like your new limo, Sesshomaru-kun. It's very nice."

"Why thank you, Kagome-chan. I just got it last week for this very reason."

"What do you mean? You knew you'd be picking us up from the hospital?" Kagome was thoroughly confused. Her head was still pounding slightly, so she wasn't able to comprehend what he had meant.

"No, of course not. I meant that I ordered it so we could all ride in it together comfortably. I knew Inuyasha was coming and knew that if we had one of the smaller limos, all six of us would not have been able to fit so easily."

Kagome made an 'oh' of understanding before looking out the window at the passing scenery. The hospital wasn't too far away from the school, but she noticed they weren't heading in that direction at all. She figured Sesshomaru was taking them back to the manor for the day, which was fine with her. Sesshomaru's manor was a forty minute drive from the inner city and sat upon 6,500 square feet of land.

The car ride soon lulled Kagome to sleep, leaving her to lean against Inuyasha's shoulder, using him as a pillow. Inuyasha looked down at her, carefully removed her hat, and wrapped his arm around her waist. He liked the outfit Sango had picked out for her.It made Kagome look even more sweet and innocent then she already did and was, not to mention more beautiful. Inuyasha began to feel drowsy as well and his last conscious thought before nodding off was the realization of just how comfortable hereally was withKagome, whohed beensnuggling into him more. When Inuyasha finally woke up, they were just entering the gates to the Seki Manor outside Tokyo. He noticed how much more modernized and larger this one was to the Seki Manor out in Kyoto that he had been living in, but he still enjoyed this one as much as the other. When they finally got up the drive to the front of the house, Kagome had also woken up and was looking around sleepily.

When Kagome realized that she had been using Inuyasha as a pillow, she blushed slightly and quietly thanked him. He smiled and handed her hat to her before the car stopped and the butler opened up the back door for them to get out. Inuyasha quickly got out and helped Kagome out and onto the walk. He kept his arm around her as he led her into the house and stayed in the foyer with her, while they waited for the others to get in. After a quick discussion with the others, everyone agreed that until Kagome was better and had her stitches removed, that she should stay at the manor so that everything was as easy for her as possible. Sesshomaru had Inuyasha help Kagome upstairs so she could lay down and told them that lunch would be sent up for the two of them.

Kagome directed Inuyasha to the room that Sesshomaru had given her for when she stayed over, and when they entered, Inuyasha couldn't help but smile. Everything was done in different shades of pink and red with gold accents here and there. Sesshomaru had even had the kindness to give her one of the rooms that had a balcony and private bathroom, but he figured that Rin was the one that had convinced him the most to give her best friend such a wonderful place to stay. Inuyasha helped Kagome lay down on her big queen sized bed and made sure she was comfortable before picking up the phone that was connected to the intercom system and informing one of the maids that he and Kagome were ready for lunch.

Kagome just let Inuyasha take control of everything, feeling too tired and sore to put up a fight at being pampered even more than she already was by being kept at the manor. Inuyasha sat down on the bed next to Kagome when the food arrived and helped her eat.

"I'm sorry that you have to sit up here and help me Inuyasha."

Inuyasha set down the fork he was using to feed her some chopped up fruit and shook his head. "Don't be. I'm choosing freely to sit up here and help you out. I know how much your arms hurt right now, and that you don't feel very well still, so I want to help you."

Kagome just nodded and thanked him before finishing her lunch. After she was done, Inuyasha quickly ate his and called a maid to come take the dishes. After she left, a comfortable silence fell over the two. Minutes passed by with the two just laying on the bed in comfortable silence, Kagome subconsciously snuggling into Inuyasha's warmth once more. Inuyasha wrapped his arm around her and rested his head against hers. Inuyasha was the first to break their silence.

"Kagome?"

"Hn?"

"You look really cute in that outfit."

Kagome felt her cheeks heat up and the slight drowsiness that had been taking over her immediately flew out the window. She looked up to see that Inuyasha's eyes were shut, but there was just the slightest twinge of pink on his cheeks.

"Um, thank you, Inuyasha. You're very handsome yourself."

Inuyasha opened his eyes and chuckled a little. "What, in these clothes? Their all disgusting from last night. In fact, I shouldn't even be laying here with you in them, I'm probably getting stuff all over the comforter."

Inuyasha moved to get up, but Kagome's hand on his chest stopped him."No, don't move, it's okay." She paused a second before adding, "And I didn't mean in the clothes...I just meant in general."

Inuyasha looked down at her and smiled."Wanna know a secret?"

Kagome blinked. "Um, sure."

Inuyasha slowly leaned down so that their noses were just brushing up against eachother. "You look beautiful in general, too."

Kagome's cheeks turned even pinker as she thanked him for the compliment.

"Kagome-chan?"

"Y-yes?"

"Do you think I could kiss you again?"

Kagome just nodded and moved her lips to meet his own. The kiss was as gentle and tender as their first, but with just as much feeling, if not more, as their second. But, just like before, just as Inuyasha's tongue was going to enter Kagome's mouth, they were interrupted by a knock on the door.Sighing, the two pulled apart and called for whoever was knockingto come in.One of the manor's handmaidens came in, saying she was told to help Kagome change into pajamas so she could go to sleep. Inuyasha nodded and got up to leave, but Kagome's hand grasping onto his, stopped him from leaving. He looked back to find her looking at him with that same sincere look she had given him when they first met in the hospital.

"Thank you again, Inuyasha. For everything."

Inuyasha smiled and gave her hand a small squeeze. "You're welcome, Kagome. I'll come check on you later, okay?"

Kagome smiled back. "I'd like that."

Kagome released his hand and with a quick kiss to her lips, Inuyasha was out of the room. He walked down the hall until he came upon the room he usually stayed in when he came to Tokyo, and went in. It was one of the master bedrooms, which consequently, was twice the size of Kagome's, and was decorated in different shades of blue and black with silver accents here and there. He changed out of his clothes and took a quick bath, careful to not get his arms wet, before changing into a pair pajama pants, and falling asleep in his king sized bed.

Kagome was soon in a pair of pajama pants and tank top and was soon falling asleep in her own bed, when she heard the handmaiden leave after turning on some light classical music. Kagome fell into a restful sleep, mindful of her bandaged limbs, willing this week to pass as quickly as it could so she could get back to school and back to working at the club.

Sesshomaru, Miroku, Rin, and Sango sat in the den relaxing, having just finished their huge lunch. Sesshomaru sat on one of the couches with Rin laying down next to him, her head in his lap, while Miroku and Sango sat across from them on the other couch, Miroku's arm around Sango's shoulders while she rested her head on his chest.

Miroku looked to Sesshomaru with a slightly lecherous glint in his eye. "So, what do you think about Kagome and Inuyasha's quickly blossoming relationship?"

"It is very interesting at how quickly those two clicked, but I do admit that I was a bit shocked when Rin and I walked in on them making out on Kagome's hospital bed."

Sango and Miroku stared at their friends with wide eyes. "You're kidding," Sango immediately asked.

Rin shook her head. "No, it's true. We walked in with Dr. Cho and there they were kissing on Kagome's bed. He had his hands in her hair and she was clutching to his chest."

"Oh wow… I thought Kagome like Kouga…"

Now it was Sesshomaru and Rin's turn to ask 'you're kidding'.

"No, I'm not. In fact, that's why we had gotten into a fight yesterday. Apparently he's in one of her classes and he asked her out to lunch yesterday. She had said that she really liked him, but now I wonder."

"That's crazy. You told her about him, right?"

Sango shook her head. "I tried, but she just blew up at me and left our dorm room before I could."

Miroku looked at his girlfriend, giving her a comforting squeeze on the shoulder. "I'm sure if you breach the subject to her again and try to explain to her what happened between you and him she'll realize that staying away from him is the best solution."

Sesshomaru nodded. "Kagome's not stupid, if you sit down with her and tell her what happened she'll understand why you told her to stay away."

Sango sighed. "I hope so."

Miroku hugged his girlfriend close. "Sango, love, it's not your fault. He's just a bastard and you never asked for him to do what he did to you."

Sango nodded, trying to suppress the pain welling up inside her. Miroku wiped away the lone tear that fell down her cheek and kissed her forehead. "Shh, it's alright. He's not going to hurt you anymore."

"I know, it's just… I'm scared for Kagome."

"Just talk to Kagome-chan when she's feeling better. I'll even talk to her with you, Sango-chan," Rin offered, a small, sad smile on her face.

"Thank you, Rin-chan."

Sesshomaru turned the subject away from Sango's bad past to something more upbeat, and soon, the four friends were laughing and enjoying themselves once more. They talked and laughed until dinnertime, while Kagome and Inuyasha slept upstairs in their rooms.

End Chapter Three

A/N: Whoo! Chapter Three Is Finally Finished:does a little dance: Oh man, am I glad I finally got this done. I've been wanting to finish it for a long time now, but my laptop was broken FOREVER, but, it's finally up and working again thanks to my awesome computer whiz boyfriend. So yes, thank you sweetie! Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed this chapter and found it fun and amusing. I had fun writing it, especially the parts where I was going over the different clichés found in romance novels and scary movies and other such genres of entertainment. I also loved how Rin went all "Love Connection" on Kagome. XD Sorry. Well, I hope you all liked it, even though the characters were a bit OOC-ish and that it got all sappy and fluffy. But, if you liked those aspects of this chapter, then AWESOME. Well, as always, please review and tell me what you think. Suggestions are welcome, questions may or may not be answered, and all flames will help heat my house because winter is here and I am freezing my arse off. I hope that chapter four doesn't take as long to get out, but seeing as I still have no ISP and have to go to my boyfriend's to post, I don't know when it'll get up, but I swear I'm going to try to make it as soon as possible. (I have a lot of school work to do, so I need to focus on that first and foremost so I can graduate. TT) Well, I'm out of here because it's time for Thanksgiving Dinner and I LOVE food, so there's no way I'm gonna miss it. Please review and I'll see you in chapter four! BYE! -ZS-

Edit: Okay, so I'm not posting this in November like I had hoped. I actually almost lost this chapter three times due to some viruses attack my laptop and then Microsoft Word dissapeared off the computer so I couldn't read over this chapter and make sure that it was ready to post until now. God I'm sorry. Well it's March now, and here is chapter three. Please forgive me. cries I'M SORRY! 3 3 3
