A Weekend of Inspection Part 3
After leaving Mt. Fortana, the group teleports themselves to Resout Town. When they arrive at the town, they smell something good and Emily asks, "What is this smell? I feel like I am going to melt into it."
Serena says, "Yeah...I can smell some desserts..."
Ash says, "Looks like Insey has baked some hot and great honey cakes for us to eat. Let's go or else they are going to cool off."
The girls are excited about the Honey Cakes, and then they hurriedly get into the cafe.
"Hey, brother, hey guys." Insey says and everyone is looking at her with a weird face, she is wearing a maid costume and she is taking a cake out from the oven. Paul asks, "What is with the costume?"
"Oh, this cafe is a maid cafe, after all. Workers needed to wear dresses like these." Insey says. "But you are just in time for the Cakes, it is Cake Time."
"Cake Time?" Serena asks. "Is that some sort of event or something?"
"As the name implies, this gym has its own cake time and the cakes are the bestsellers here alongside Ice Cream." Lillie says. "Insey is the owner of the cafe, and due to being a part of RPA, we can have some cakes and ice-creams here as afternoon tea."
Insey takes out the cake and slices it to others, Paul just stares at his plate and asks, "Is that okay? Shouldn't we pay for it?"
Insey says, "It is on our family, so don't worry. Just enjoy the cake." Then she walks into the kitchen with the tray as she is trying to wash it. The others taste the cake and they find it very delicious to eat.
"I admit, this really is the best cake I have eaten in my whole life." Gladion says.
"Told you so." Lillie says.
Insey comes with her costume still on, and she asks, "So brother, since you are here, does that mean it is my turn to test the weapons from the Warrior Task?"
"Of course, and to tell you the truth, you are the first female to take the test." Mark says.
"Is that supposed to be a good thing or not?" Insey asks with a little tease, and Ash decides to tease back, "Of course, Bugging Sister."
Insey hears the name and she feels offended, she tries to punch Ash, but Ash makes himself transparent so that she misses the attack.
"Damn it..." Insey groans since when Mark calls her that name, she always gets to punch him, but Ash is different since she never gets to punch him. Insey is getting tired and she says, "Fine, I give up."
The others are sweating to see the two siblings fight, but they didn't say anything. Lillie says, "Let's just battle for now."
"You're right." Once they all finish their cake, they go to the top floor of the cafe, which turns out to be the gym. Lillie wants to continue battling despite being tired, but she doesn't mind at all.
The six-on-six battle is going well until Lillie wins by knocking down the Horns of the Bugs in Insey's hands, Lillie smiles and says, "Nice job, Insey, you fought really well."
"You're not half bad as well. I am sure that Brother taught you a lot about battling." Insey says.
Before they leave, Insey takes out a box of chocolate cake and says, "Since I already baked this beforehand, you should take it, consider this a gift for you guys."
Serena takes the box and says, "Thanks." Then she gives it to Alice, who uses Minfrez to freeze it.
Their next place is the Gym in the Quest Town, as Ash and the others arrive at the Fright House. Serena recognizes the place as she asks, "Why are we back at the Fright House?"
Ash says, "Here is the truth: Nobody wants to be a ghost type gym leader in this place because of the Pokemon living inside the Fright House. In the end, we Ketchums purchased the house and we have Golly be the Gym Leader of this place." Mark says.
"Indeed." Golly comes and greets them. "Do you know why it is horrible? Because of the 7 frights."
"Seven frights?" Emily asks, a little scared. "Don't tell me that the Phantroach is one of the frights."
"You might be correct about that." Ashs says, "Seven frights mean seven Ghost Type Pokemon trying to play tricks on gym challengers. Nothing more, nothing less. If you are not afraid of the ghosts, then you don't need to worry about anything."
As they get inside, they see the house looks bright. Golly says, "You know, it won't be spooky until it is night, so I'll show you the 7 frights of the house."
In the living room, they see a Possedoll sleeping on the sofa. Golly says, "That is the first fright, the Normal and Ghost Type Pokemon: Possedoll. Those who wake it up will be surprised at the sight of the Pokemon."
As Gladion tries to wake it up by having Silvally spraying water on it, Possedoll wakes up with an angry face and says, "How dare you to wake me up! Rock! I choose you!"
He tosses a rock at Gladion, he isn't hurt but surprised. Serena says, "The way he throws rocks, it looks like Ash."
Ash groans and says, "This Pokemon was born to be a joke about me... Just stop mimicking me. Possedoll."
After Possedoll continues to sleep, the group heads to the kitchen, Emily asks, "Guys, is it just me, or this place is cold?"
Ash says, "Maybe..." He opens the refrigerator, a Brrchoo comes out and scares them. Ash just only feels the cold and wipes the snow off him.
"That is the second one, Brrchoo is an Ice and Ghost Type Pokemon. If you want to know the third one, it will be outside, where Scaregrow is."
"Scaregrow is also a Ghost Type, right?" Paul asks, and Ash says, "Ghost and Grass, like Trevenant."
They head upstairs to the bedroom, and Golly asks, "Who wants to open the bedsheets to see the fourth fright?"
Emily says, "I opened it once! There are Phantroach inside!"
"Phantroach?" Serena asks in confusion as Ash opens the sheets, then a bunch of purple cockroach Pokemon runs out of the closet, causing the girls to scream.
"Well, that is that." Golly shrugs. "Phantroach are Ghost and Bug Type Pokemon."
Then they head to the Collection Room, where they see a Cursmask, a Rock and Ghost Type Pokemon which looks like Yamask hiding among the architects. After scaring the girls, they all head to the bathroom, which looks normal for them.
"I guess this bathroom doesn't have any scary things?" Paul asks.
Then the Magimir appears and scares them, but all of them are unfazed. Serena says, "That wasn't scary at all."
"Magimir is a Ghost and Psychic Type Pokemon, so you won't be scared by it." Ash says.
"Okay, now the last one is over there at the battlefield of the gym." Golly says as they enter the field. In the middle of the field stands a Survipunch, a Ghost and Fighting Type Pokemon in this region.
"7 frights, 7 new Pokemon in this region." Alice says. "That is all that seems to scare the challengers. Now should we begin the task?"
"Sure." Lillie says as she and Golly are battling each other again, Golly is also having a Double Battle just like Trenor, and she is using the Knives of the Terror well that Lillie almost drops hers.
Once they are finished, Golly bids farewell to them as they leave the Fright House. Serena says, "That is quite fun for a Ghost House."
"I know." Eve says. "Since we often stayed here on weekends, they are not going to scare us again."
The next stop before the night is in Rotaeel City, they take the elevator as they try to go to the highest point of the tower. Emily notices the park glowing and says, "Wow, that is so beautiful."
"It sure is." Drandon says. "Rotaeel City is basically an art when you come in the nighttime. The observation deck of the tower is where people might have a chance to see a shooting star."
"Really?" Paul says. "Shootings Stars watching from this place?"
"Believe it or not, I saw it when I have a date with Ash here. And it is our first date as well." Lillie says.
Once they leave the elevator, they reach the door to the observation deck, and they hear a sound, "Are you here for Observation or Gym Battle?"
"Neither of them, this is Champion Ash Ketchum speaking."
Just then, the monitor starts to scan Ash, and then he says, "identity confirmed."
As the door opens, they can see David standing at the doorway waiting for them. David says, "I thought that you won't be able to arrive today, but I guess I'm wrong about that."
"Hey, David." Ash says, "Are you ready for the inspecting?"
"You bet, so who is going to battle me? You or Lillie?" David asks.
"That will be me." Lillie says, and Ash can only sigh, he only did three battles while Lillie did six and continuously. They follow David as they reach the top of the tower, and much to their surprise, they can see the whole scenery at 360 degrees without any obstacles.
"Wow, this is so beautiful..." Serena says.
"Indeed." Ash says. "This is not bad compared to Lumiose City."
"But I can't believe that this is the gym...battling on the top of the tower which is actually outdoors? What about those who are afraid of heights?" Gladion asks.
"That's why Sevestar is considered to be the hardest region in the world." David says. "Now how about we start our battle?"
Lillie nods as they start their six-on-six battle, David's defenses are as hard as the wall, and Lillie has a hard time getting through it, it is until she uses the cannon that David finally drops the Gun of the Metal on the ground.
"That sure takes a lot of time." Alice says.
David says, "Well, Steel types are usually slow and hard. Lillie is quite skilled at this and I am glad that I lost to her."
Lillie says, "Well since you are an inventor, your learning is quite talented and you manage to do all the gun's swiftness. That is beneficial to your slow and hard defenses."
"You're right, but before you leave, how about you try to look around the whole region on top of the tower?"
"That will be great." Mark says as they all watch the scenery together. When they notice the lights in the city, Serena asks, "Are those lights making the shape of Miltank and Tauors? Why is that?"
"According to the Chinese New Year, today is the year of Ox, in the last year, we have Pikachu and Dedenne lights as a lot of people like them a lot." Ash says.
"Wow...I never know about that...but those lights will only change in a year? How would you do that?" Gladion asks.
David says, "Nothing can stop me from creating something as simple as remote controls, they can control the lights and change their colors, but usually they are locked up until the new year comes."
"That sure is something to know." Emily mutters.
Here is a new chapter. And this is the third part of the gyms as well as the inspection of the Warrior Tasks, I am sorry that there is no battle in these chapters since this part of the story is basically introduces the gyms and the other stuff not mentioned in the knight challenge.
