Two months later...

"Good morning, Lieutenant," Steve kissed her cheek when she woke up.

"Good morning, Commander. Now I can call you Commander, yesterday's ceremony was beautiful. Lieutenant Commander Steven John McGarrett," Catherine smiled as she said."

"The celebration was even better," he kissed her several times while the alarm clock kept ringing. Steve interrupted the alarm clock non-stop kissing her.

"What are we going to do on our day off?" Catherine asked him.

"Whatever you want," Steve answered. He put a lock of her hair behind her ear and stroked her face. "You know, you're making me spoiled with this sleeping thing here every day. I'm feeling almost married."

"And is that good or bad?" She asked.

"It's good, very good. "he smiled. "I even paid some bills that were on the table yesterday."

"Really?"

"Yes, it's not fair that you pay everything yourself."

"Okay." Catherine got up and Steve wanted to stop her. "Where are you going?"

"I need a shower. I ordered a breakfast to continue the celebration of your promotion and it should be here soon."

"You think of everything, don't you? My girl."

Catherine was in the shower when the bell rang. He put on a shirt and went to open the door to receive the breakfast she had ordered. Steve opened the door and was completely embarrassed to see her parents. "Hi. Good morning," Steve told them.

"McGarrett? Why are you here so early?" The admiral asked.

Steve stuttered as he tried to answer. "I... huh... I..."

Catherine appeared in the room wrapped in a towel thinking breakfast had arrived and ran into her parents. "Mom, Dad? You didn't say you were coming."

"I didn't know I had to say," Carol told her.

"You're not coming in?" Steve asked them and pointed to the room.

The atmosphere was awkward, and Catherine decided to end it. "Mom, Dad, you know Steve and I are dating and I'm not a little girl anymore. So what's the surprise?" Catherine went to the door and took them by the hand. "Stop it and get in." She pulled them into the apartment and Steve helped with the bags.

The delivery boy rang the bell to deliver the breakfast and Steve answered it relieved that there was someone else there to break the awkward atmosphere.

"I'll put breakfast on the table," Steve said to Catherine. She went to her room and got dressed and then went back to the living room.

"Shall we have breakfast?" she told her parents.

"Sure, daughter. I'm starving to death," Jacob told her. He got up from the couch and sat down at the table for breakfast. "What a hearty breakfast!"

"It's to celebrate Steve's promotion," Catherine answered.

"I heard about your promotion, Steve. Congratulations," Jacob told him.

"Thank you, Admiral. This promotion really came out faster than I expected," Steve answered.

"You deserve it. Jacob served himself and then looked at Steve and Catherine. "You two are lucky to be very good at what you do, or one of you would have already been transferred from base."

"We try to be discreet, Daddy, and we don't let our relationship interfere with our work."

Carol also served herself, praised breakfast and congratulated Steve.

"Thank you, Carol," Steve thanked her.

"I had a surprise to find you here, but I'm glad you guys are dating and I hope it really works out and that you get married someday," Carol told Steve and Jacob agreed.

"Mom, it's too early to talk about marriage, isn't it? What did you think of the cake?" Catherine asked. She wanted to change the course of the conversation.

"The cake is very tasty, daughter," Carol answered. She understood that Catherine no longer wanted to talk about it.

"How is the work at the new base?" Steve asked Jacob and Jacob spoke enthusiastically about the work and they forgot about the upsetting atmosphere at first. "We just came to spend the weekend with Catherine. We were really missing her".

"I was also missing you both," Catherine told her parents.

"Shall we go for a walk in the mountains?" Carol asked Catherine and Catherine looked at Steve.

"That's a good idea. It's a relaxing little trip," Steve answered and Catherine smiled at him, thanking him for his understanding.

They spent the weekend with her parents and on Monday Carol and Jacob left and Steve and Catherine went back to work.

Steve was already at the apartment when she got home at night. "You took a long time to get home today," he hugged and kissed her.

"I was called by my commander. I'm going to have to travel, Steve. I'm going to be sent to the Intelligence Center to collect some information."

"How many days are you gonna be gone?" He asked.

"I don't think more than three or four days," she answered and looked at him with that sweet look he loved.

"Ok. I'll miss you a lot," he told her and she said she would miss him too.

Catherine traveled two days later and Steve couldn't even take her to the airport. "I miss you already," she sent a text message to Steve while she was on the plane waiting for take-off.

"Who's sitting next to you? Some handsome guy?" Steve answered her message with this question.

"Oh, yes. He's really handsome!" She wrote.

"I didn't like that," Steve answered.

"Let's see, he looks about eight months old and he's here on his mother's lap."

Steve smiled. "So I don't think I have to worry."

"What about me? Should I worry?" Catherine asked him.

Steve saw Jane approaching and he walked out so he wouldn't have to talk to her. "No, Cath. There's nothing for you to worry about."

Anthony knew that Catherine had traveled for work and that she would be at the same workplace as Greer. He did not waste time and warned her that Catherine was on her way and even sent a photo of Catherine to her.

Greer looked at the photo of Catherine at length and already imagined a way to destroy Steve's relationship with Catherine. "Ok, Anthony, thanks for letting me know. I'll be waiting for her."
