A/N: Hey guys so even though I've always really enjoyed and always been a big fan of Marvel and all the Avengers, I have recently become very obsessed with them and that has resulted in me reading many fanfictions and Wattpad stories. Hence, me creating my own. Anyway, I really hope you guys enjoy. Please review etc, constructive criticism is ALWAYS welcome.

Chapter one:

Eden's life was perfect, specifically throughout her early childhood, it was only her and her mother but that didn't bother Eden in the slightest. Eve Sinclair was the epitome of a doting mother, she worshipped the ground that Eden walked on and devoted her entire being to ensuring Eden had the best start in life. While Eden never had a dad on the scene, she did have an uncle the in shape of her mothers best friend, the only and only Tony Stark, who of course realised he was done for when he saw Eden the minute he rushed to the hospital after hearing the news that Eve was in labor, he was a permanent fixture in Eve's and Eden's life and spoilt them both rotten. Eden was undoubtedly her mother's child, inheriting her mother's personality and her gentle nature, she also inherited her freckles but instead of covering her face completely like her mother's did, they were dotted around her face perfectly, almost as if they had been individually placed with the intention of creating the perfect pattern. As much as she was like Eve, she looked more like her father and this broke Eve's heart when he looked into the eyes of her daughter who shared the same shade of blue as the man Eve loved wholeheartedly. Eden was always very clever, but being raised by the two most intelligent people possibly in the world, was a no brainer, this however, put Eden on a lot of agencies radars, it wasn't only this that had enticed Hydra to keep tabs on Eden, they were interested in the young girl because of who her father was. Hydra sat and watched in the shadows for many years, keen on seeing how the young girl would progress, when Eden turned seven they made their move. Hydra agents broke into the home she shared with her mother in order to abduct her, Eve had no time to alert Tony and so she fought with everything in her until one fatal shot was heard and the body of the woman dropped to the floor. Eden was traumatised by the sight of her mother's dead body strewn across the floor, abandoned carelessly, she screamed for her to wake up, she cried out for her Uncle Tony to save her and to make everything right, but no one was coming to help her and so she disappeared without a trace.

She was sedated and transported to their Siberian base, once she awoke Eden was unaware of where she was and what had happened, until the events of the previous day came rushing back and Eden sobbed until her throat was raw and her eyes physically couldn't cry anymore. The head of Hydra, a man Eden learnt was called Alexander Pierce, came to 'greet' her on the special occasion, detailing just what they were going to teach the girl to be. Eden refused and tried fighting against the agents who were in the room with her and this special man. She was slammed back down on the bed she had woken up on, the pain radiating through her spine in what would be the first of many assaults she would suffer from. She still refused to do what they wanted her to do until, Alexander Pierce told her he would kill her Uncle Tony, just like he had ordered her mother to be. Eden felt the first emotion she had felt since she had been at the base, terror. She stiffened as the thought of her Uncle Tony's body laying on the floor of his malibu home, unmoving. She then looked Alexander in the eye and complied. She was willing to do whatever it would take to keep her only family alive.

Eden's days turned into weeks, turned into months and eventually into years, every single day for three years Eden was trained by Hydra agents, sometimes it would be Rumlow and other times it would be random agents who wouldn't answer Eden's questions, they'd only grunt at her or shout at her if she got something wrong. She was trained in combat, martial arts, guns, knifes, espionage, strangely enough she was taught ballet, not only was she taught how to be an assassin she was also basically home-schooled, so he learnt everything she would as if she was at school however, Hydra was a lot more intense than a regular middle school, this meant she was fluent in most languages known to man, she was taught computers and how to hack systems, she excelled at it all and really lived up to the expectation that Alexander Pierce had of her. She was proving her value by being fully trained as an assassin by the age of ten. This is when the real torture begun, Eden had only known a few kicks and punches here and there, she had never experienced anything more violent than that, because she didn't know what was coming, she couldn't be thankful that she hadn't experienced that.

Alexander Pierce rarely made an appearance at the Hydra base, instead trusting his agents to oversee Eden's training to ensure she would turn out exactly as they wanted her to. However, the thirteenth of September would be a momentous occasion as Eden would finally be moving onto stage two of their plan, she would be injected with Howard Stark's super soldier serum, she of course, would have no say in the matter. He strutted into the lab where various Scientists were moving about in their long white coats all chattering about the task they had been given that day with an excitement that would turn any normal person's stomach. To the far left of the room was Eden restrained in a huge cylinder tank, knowing nothing of what was going on, her eyes darted around the room anxious about what was about to happen to her. She knew it could be nothing good. Alexander didn't say anything to the girl, instead just giving the scientists the go ahead to begin, he looked on as the water began rising in the tank, at first Eden didn't notice much purely because she was so scared anyway, but when the water was rising at an alarming rate she started to beg with scientists to get her out of the tank, for the first time in three years she cried in front of people, tears rolled down her cheeks at an alarming rate almost as alarming at the rate the water had risen, soon it covered her head, as soon as she was submerged eight snake like needles moved from their position either side of her and pierced her skin in various places. When the bright blue super soldier serum disappeared into her body, Eden who was previously holding her breath began screaming, no sound actually coming from the girl, but Alexander could tell by the amount of bubbles that were flooding around her face, almost shielding her. Suddenly, the bubbles stopped and Eden stopped moving completely, she had passed out. The water drained away instantly and the needles disconnected from her body leaving everyone wondering if the serum had been effective. Only minutes later, they got their answer as the girl awoke and ripped free of her restraints, smashing through the glass of the tank, various agents charged forward trying to stop the girl, they all ended up on their backs and it took two very strong sedatives to ensure she wasn't getting back up again for the day. Alexander Pierce stood staring on from her perch at the top of the Lab, he grinned to himself thinking about the birth of the Ghost Assassin program.

After the events that took place on the thirteenth, it was decided that Eden needed a trainer who had similar abilities as she did and this is when the newly named 'Ghost Assassin' met The Winter Soldier. Eden's body didn't reject the super soldier serum and so they were dealing with new territory, being a teenager and also being one of the most deadly beings on the planet. From the minute they met the two formed what could only be described as a friendship and they trained together almost every day for the next three years until the time came for Eden to go on her first mission, the first of many, however, this would be a special mission because Eden had a plan, she was going to get Bucky Barnes out from under the torture of Hydra, the torture he'd told her he'd experienced for upwards of ninety years. Her plan formulated in her head and she was damn proud of herself, not only for thinking of one of the best plans that could have ever be formed, but for thinking of her only friend in the world, when she was experiencing the same things he was… minus the forced amnesia. The Ghost Assassin and The Winter Soldier embarked on their mission, to execute a Hydra scientist who was about to turn over very important information to Shield, he would be being transported by one Natasha Romanoff who would try her best to protect him until Eden took the fatal shot that ended his life. Natasha also injured in the process, Eden didn't want that but she also needed her plan to work. Bucky was just about to take over and handle the next part of the mission but Eden put that to rest when she shot Bucky in the leg and watched with tears in her eyes as he dropped to the floor staring at her with betrayal in his eyes. After whispering her apologies to both assassins in front of her, she alerted Shield via Natasha's phone that she was indeed down and needed extraction, Bucky watched as she threw the phone back down to Natasha, before turning to him and telling him she was doing this so he could get out. She then disappeared and would not be found again for another two years. It was ironic to the red-headed assassin that The Winter Soldier would be running a mission with such a young girl and even though Natasha couldn't see Eden's face, she knew in the way she whispered her apologies that The Ghost Assassin was just a façade, something to survive, something that allowed her to keep on going.

Bucky had been pardoned by the government for all of the crimes he was known for, it was read in front of the many reporters at the steps of the justice building that James Buchanan Barnes was controlled by an agency who had been around since the second world war. This allowed Bucky to finally come face to face with his best friend Steve Rogers after seventy years apart, they were able to pick up where they left off and resume the friendship they'd held so dear back in the 1940's. Steve was able to call in a favour with an old friend who's younger sister was something of a genius and she was able to reverse all of the mind control and the trigger words that Hydra had installed into Bucky, he was beyond grateful to no longer be The Winter Soldier but to become The White Wolf as T'Challa the King of Wakanda had aptly named him. From then on out he was known as an Avenger, thankfully with his new found status he could tell the other Avengers about the girl who had saved him and the Siberian base was ruined when Bucky and the Avengers attacked it with the hope of finding the girl Bucky knew only as Ghost but everything that was once familiar to the former Hydra asset was now gone, no scientists, no agents and no Ghost. Only files hidden deeply in the software of the computers found in one of the rooms at the base, of which Natasha downloaded onto a USB and kept hidden for future use. Once Alexander Pierce had learnt of what Eden had done on her mission with his main asset, he was furious and his anger couldn't be contained. He stormed into what was once an abandoned base, heading straight for where Eden was tied to a chair already bloodied and bruised, she stared at him as he walked in rolling up the sleeves of his no doubt expensive shirt and continued on with the torture the other agents had started. Eden knew she was going to have repercussions from freeing Bucky from Hydra, however, she couldn't have anticipated being injected with what was an unknown substance to her and the scientists, she was in disbelief when she began experiencing things she hadn't experienced before the strange purple glow that had surrounded her once the pain had stopped and alas, her powers of telekinesis was born.

The Ghost Assassin became something of an, ironically, ghost story, over the next two years after being credited officially for the assassination of sixty people, unofficially however, her number was pushing eighty. It's what Hydra had groomed her for and her new powers were no different, Hydra had spent two years harnessing Eden's new found powers, helping her learn to control it and how to use it as effectively as possible and there was absolutely no doubt that the girl was extremely powerful, so powerful in fact that when Eden was not chaperoned by a scientist or an agent she was actually sedated to stop her using her powers against any one of them. A now fifteen year old Eden was unaware of the plan that Alexander Pierce had cooked up himself, he had decided that Eden was ready for 'big mission' where she would be collecting a highly valuable artefact that Hydra needed, he'd sent word to Fury that the Ghost Assassin would be there. This of course meant the Avengers were supposed to intervene some Hydra agents, they had no idea they were about to come face to face with the infamous Ghost Assassin.
