(A/N: For those wondering why I don't have an opening or ending theme for this fic so far, it's mostly because I consider these four chapters, one big prologue before the story continues.)

~The Establishment Arc~
Chapter 4: Days of Present Past
Summer 2008
[Strawberry]
The class of 2008, as now the senior students of Davis High were happy to see their final year having ended, they got a graduation party.
The BJ Smith Rec Center was the center for the party that day, as not only was to celebrate a graduation, but a release of one of their former classmates, who had finally been released from prison after serving some time.
"Franklin, welcome back!" Lamar clapped his homie's hand as he just entered the building as he was just dropped off by Aunt Denise. "Welcome to the party!"
People were chatting as those tending the barbecue were cooking burgers, hot dogs, and chicken. With activities inside the recreational center like playing pool, indoor basketball, dominoes, scraps, a video game setup, and even smoking some blunts being part of the yearly graduation party in the predominant Families neighborhood.
"It's good to be out, homie." Franklin said, seemingly a bit tired from the long drive from Bolingbroke back to Strawberry. "Prison fuckin' sucked, man. For real…"
Lamar asked up then. "How so? From what I heard, homies inside got your back, nobody dares to touch a homie from Chamberlain Hills without a fight."
"That's just about it, Lamar. I saw a lot of homies up there." Franklin reasoned and mentioned. "Remember the class from 2005? I swear, half them niggas are up there doing time."
"Well of course, nigga, they putted in work for the hood, just like you." Lamar told him, not seeing what the problem was.
He pulled up two beers for himself and Franklin as he handed one over.
"Now listen, big homie Vernon told me you were in the library most of the time, that true?" Lamar inquired.
"Yeah, nigga, I did. Got my GED, wanted to get something while inside." Franklin told him, taking a sip from his drink and then saying. "Because I promised myself one thing I was in there, to never go back inside. Fuck that."
"I guess that's an understandable promise."
Hearing that voice, Franklin and Lamar turned around to see it was Naruto, who made his way through the crowd and reached the table where Franklin and Lamar were sitting. Wearing a white shirt with his mom's pendant necklace, jeans and sports shoes.
"Naruto, shit, you still here?"
"Yeah, I get that." Naruto said, slapping hands with his home free friend. "Good to see you out, man, makes the party bearable with JB and Tonya around."
"JB's here? No way." Franklin chuckled, turning to Lamar. "That nigga graduated?"
"Barley, like literally, barely, but JB made it." Lamar remarked, before taking a sip of beer. "He told me he's taking his chances towing trucks for a living now, from what I heard. Now, both he and Tonya are gone, don't tell me where because I don't fucking know."
"Those two, man, they've changed ever since they started with crack…." Franklin said before changing subjects. "But how's Tanisha, isn't she here?"
"Ugh, please, she's with that Jayden dude. That entitled nigga." Lamar said sourly as he disliked that guy. "She ain't even bothering to come here, dude."
Jayden Yuen. Franklin hated that rich prick as while he appeared to be a good person, Franklin and a few others knew it was just a front to hide the entitled and irritating personality he had.
"I still don't get how she can fall to a fake like him, though." Franklin addressed as he still struggled with how Tanisha could fall with a person like him. "He's clearly making a facade, has no respect, and is an asshole."
"The most unlikable bitch-ass Asian I ever met." Lamar commented before noting to Naruto. "No offense, though, homie.
"None taken." Naruto smirked while holding his beer can. "Guys like him make Asians like me look bad, not fun, and anti-social douchebags. A real prejudicial asshole."
Then somebody jumped up to Naruto's back in surprise, catching him by surprise.
"Luckily we've met you then!" The latest arrival at the party cheerfully said, her recognizable voice. "My lovable whiskered friend from the East!"
"Fu?"
"Naruto!"
Having just crashed the party and announced herself to her friends. The two equally goofball troublemakers laughed at each other and quickly hugged each other for a small moment before they split apart.
"Hey Fu, how's it been, girl?" Lamar greeted her with a fist bump and a question. "Shouldn't you be at a graduation party back in East Los?"
The mint green haired girl smiled. "Nope, I didn't feel like it as I had a score to settle"
She turned to Naruto with her finger pointed at his face as she held a determined facial expression.
"Guess what kind of prank I just pulled off? Let me ask you, do you know where Tanisha is?
"She's at Yuen's graduation party…which is at that fancy country club." Naruto recalled as far as he knew. "She told us about it a few hours before the graduation, why?"
Fu pulled out her phone, with it ready to play a video, she gestured to the guys to come and watch the video she was about to play.
"Watch and See -I planted a little surprise." She snickered a bit.
Fu showed them the shaky yet well-recorded video of Jayden having the pizza being delivered by someone, to which they opened it to see all manner of bugs in the pizza that leapt out at them, getting screams and people running. Turning the country club into total chaos.
The surprise got the first reaction out of Lamar who began bursting out with laughter, which was then followed by Franklin. Despite feeling a bit bad for Tanisha, he wasn't able to resist the laughter that Fu and Naruto often brought up and joined in also. Naruto shook his head in defeat as he saw the grasshoppers going around, making everyone run in the recording. He then turns to Fu who had this smug grin hanging from her lip with her head sideways.
"That's what I call, 12 to 11."
"Alright, then I'm impressed." Naruto said as he gave in the win as he bowed his head to her in an honorable way. "You won this round, Fu-Chan. Congratulations."
She smiled with a hand over her chest, saying with pride, "I accept your honorable defeat."
Then they both laughed at each other after saying that. Not minding that Lamar and Franklin were watching and whispering to one another.
"Man, it is if they both belong to each other, you hear me, Frank," Lamar whispered to his homie. "Don't see that every day, right?"
Franklin agreed. "Yeah, you got that right." As he watched on.
Naruto's time in Davis High, made a lot of friends, from South Central to Davis to even East LS where Fu's from, as he had joined in mid-year from Bullworth after being expelled, he got a lot of flack at first, but now was generally liked. It just sucked now that he graduated in his student-exchange program, Naruto had to now return back to Japan. And man, was that going to suck.
~[Flashback ends]~
[Strawberry]
Now back in the present, Naruto was now sitting on the edge of his bed, loosely holding the grip of his half empty beer bottle while the ceiling of his apartment was starting to smell like marijuana.
While he was a bit tipsy, his two female counterparts were completely hammered, barely holding onto consciousness. Fu and her best friend, Elisa 'Liz' Macallen, were on the verge of being ready to call it a night. Though it seemed Fu's tolerance was a bit better than Elisa's who was leaning with her neck back against the sofa.
"So, Naruto…how's life in LS so far?" Fu asked, becoming a bit better with her words. "Getting a bit forward in our corner of the States?"
"Well, I can say it's not boring at all. My first day here was pretty crazy." Naruto jokes. "And better here then, anywhere else?"
"Crazy first day?" Fu said, downing her drink with ease. "This I have to hear."
"The short version is I came to end up in a street race Lamar brought me in, won it. Then it led to attacking a drug deal that made me go hide in the middle of nowhere, which then led me to meeting this girl I found alongside the road with bullet holes." Naruto said wistfully, only having a tiny shot of whiskey.
Liz whistled. "Well, that's an abridged version, for sure."
"So you saved her and had some 'company'?" Fu said, wiggling her eyebrows and commenting. "Did you get that dick of yours wet that day?"
Mildly surprised by this sudden escalation of questioning, Naruto cleared his throat before he answered.
"Nah, she was a bit too injured for that. I would say, coming across her at the right time to save her…put me in her good graces." Naruto said, chuckling. "We didn't do anything that night, but considering what she did do for me…"
"What did she even do?" Liz asked as she had been no no stranger to LS crime herself.
"Helped me get set up in the city, and with this apartment, plus the weapons her contact provided." Naruto stated, unneeded, to show the pistol that laid next to him on the bed. "I didn't get any 'action' you might've thought of, Fu, but we're not staying away from each other either. She's just now gone for a few days."
Fu was seen taking another hit from the burning joint that the three were passing down to each other. She exhaled it out upwards to the ceiling without a care in the world.
"You're not even one day here, and you already run yourself across a girl and be a shining knight." Fu commented with a smile as she passed it to Liz. "I tell you, that crazy luck of yours was kicking in."
Naruto shrugged, shaking his head down.
"Not that again, Fu…" Naruto groaned.
Liz however was confused and turned to the green-mint girl.
"What crazy luck?"
"Nothing, really-" Naruto insisted.
"That luck ain't nothing." Liz mumbled as a disagreeing Fu turned to her.
"You see, Naruto always got some level of good luck. When Lamar was losing that craps game back in school, you said he'd win the next roll and BAM! He wins and gets triple his fucking money back. And it happened two more times before they had to ban Naruto from being around the games." Fu said.
Liz perked her eyebrow. "You're joking, right?"
"I wish she wasn't, but sadly it's true." Naruto said as he stared down at the empty bottle before he then felt Fu making her move and sitting right onto his lap.
With her legs crossed across him, he could clearly see and smell the drunken state she was in now. It was clear on what she was doing, with the smile on her face that was of both lust, and some fleeting innocence she had in her.
"Now… I am feeling lucky~" Fu slurred, clearly now being over her limit. "H-How about you?"
"You go girl." Elisa slurred out.
"I never did get to give you what I wanted to give you before you left for Japan. But maybe I can give it to you now." Fu said in a low whisper as her finger trailing over his chest, attempting to make circles in her boozy state of mind.
"Is that so? Aren't you a bit sloshed for that?" Naruto asked.
"Maybe…" Fu cooed out.
"Well, that's a sign for you to sleep it off…" Naruto said, taking a drag of the joint. "As tempted as it is, I rather not have a drunken hot mess."
She hiccupped before pouting.
"But I want to have some fu-*hic*" Fu said, looking rather tired.
"Fu, please." Elisa tried to convince her. "We'd need birth control…let alone I got Alonzo-"
"Man, fuck him! We can suck Naruto off together" Fu stated impulsively. "…we can cuck that asshole. Maybe that will piss him off legit…make it a *hic* real party. C'mon, I can stay awake…"
She quickly passed out, completely out of it from the liquor, and Naruto calmly hauled her off to put her in his bed, all without a word.
"And then there were two." Naruto said as Elisa chuckled.
"Well, even if I really wanted to. I can't… I got a boyfriend…and Alonzo would be really pissed if he knew I was here." Elisa said sheepishly.
"The jealous type." Naruto inquired. "One of those who don't even trust you around friends?"
"Yeah…I do get a lot of attention from the Families." Elisa said. "But he's really sweet when he's ready."
"Sure, he is." Naruto said, hiding the sarcasm in his voice.
"Of course, he wouldn't be studying child psychology if he wasn't." Elisa touted as Naruto just had a blank look.
He hid his horror of the idea of another asshole getting into the profession in need of decent people.
"And are you attending college?" Naruto asked.
"Yes, and I'm studying to get a bachelor's in automotive technology with a side to be an auto repair technician." Elisa remarked as Naruto nodded in approval.
"At least you got your head on straight. Maybe if I need body work done, I'll give you a call. If I can get a cheaper alternative to any mod garage, it'll be worth it." Naruto said as Elisa gave him her number.
"Any money I can get to keep going is good enough for me." Elisa said with a yawn. "But I need to call it a night. I'll need all the sleep I can get for the hangover."
"You and Fu can sleep on my bed, I'll take the couch." Naruto said as she lumbered for his bed.
"Thanks."
"No problem." Naruto smiled as he stood up.
The two helped Fu to get under the blankets, not thinking it would be wise to undress her and deciding to allow her to sleep in it minus the heels, Elisa did the same as she tugged in next to her friend while Naruto made sure to only take off his shoes and flight jacket, sleeping in his shirt and pants that already reeked of sweat and alcohol.
"Night, Naruto." Elisa said to him in a sleepy tone before turning off the lampshade.
"Night." Naruto responded before turning in.
Tomorrow will be another day.
[Las Venturas]
In their room of the Pirates in Men's Pants hotel, the lights were off, and the doors were locked as the only two things present in that room were the scent of alcohol that was mixed with the scent of sweat.
On the bed laid the answer, where both Isaribi and Marnie were seen laying in bed, with empty bottles of light red wine, they were covered in their own sweat and staring at the ceiling after they'd just done the unthinkable. At least according to Marnie's beliefs.
The Epsilonist was seen clearly with a flushed face staring up at the ceiling. With Isaribi not seeming to mind what just happened as she kicked back.
"Damn it, I can't believe you talked me into this."
"You weren't complaining. And I promised you'd pay for putting me through all this." Isaribi said, as she made a fix for the hangover.
Clutching her hands onto the bed sheet, Marnie looked more nervous than before as she turned her gaze towards the now sitting Isaribi, who was now fixing something on her night desk.
She was making a mix of water, Zaibatsu's adrenaline pills, and some powdered zinc in two glasses. One for each other, with the first glass being offered to her.
"Here, drink it. Helps against the hangover that's to come." Isaribi said as the blonde woman accepted it.
"...Thank you…." Marnie said, having reluctantly accepted the drink before downing it within a moment as she then quickly spoke. "This doesn't leave this room!"
"Oh it won't…" Isaribi said downing her drink before asking then. "Want a second round? You clearly in need of it."
"Don't tempt me…" Marnie said sheepishly as Isaribi stood from the bed.
She walked over to the window and just admired the view of the casino city. The lights of the Strip, and all the activities the city had to offer, all while it held many dark and uncovered secrets, from former mob controlled racketeering, to unsolved murders that were ordered by even some of the highest members names, some of whom were still bosses from these places.
What happened in Venturas, stays in Venturas. That's the saying.
"Sure, you don't want to get pounded on the window?" Isaribi offered as Marnie bit her lip.
Marnie caved.
[Los Santos]
With the night coming close to an end, there was one parked car that was on top of a multi-story parking lot.
Yugito Nii was seen hanging against the hood of her VCPD Cheetah, staring at the night sky with an occasional glance at the skyscraper buildings. This place was her usual spot for her where she would hang out to try to empty her head. Even when it was close to the early morning, she was lucky that she was now on a two-day break, having now time for herself away from the unit she's working with, helping her mind ease from the work she's been doing. But that wasn't the only reason why she was there.
Vroom!
Turning her head to the side, Yugito watched as there was another car entering the top floor of the parking lot.
A gray Enus Cognoscenti sedan car was seen pulling up with dark tinted windows. Yugito tugged her hands into her jacket and walked up to the nearing Primo as the driver's window was slowly coming down for the South-African to see who it was.
Inside of it was a white woman, around her age, with brunette hair and sunglasses that covered her eyes as she looked up to the blonde woman, a smile grew on her face as she began.
"Nice boots." The woman referred to Yugito's boots.
"For all the crap you gave me about me getting my Cheetah, you still went and bought the Vice collection of sunglasses used by the VCPD." Yugito commented equally with sarcasm.
"Hmm, I'll give you that." The unknown brunette replied before getting to the topic. "I heard things went heavy down in the projects."
"Yeah, Akahoshi's men got into a fight with a couple of Vagos," Yugito spoke tersely. "Two got ruffed up, black eye and broken nose."
"While also getting word that you guys stole from their stash house, if I may add." The brunette cop pointed out, clearly changing tone. "Mind telling, what's that all about?"
Yugito shook her head and sighed before she then answered. "Erin I-"
"No need to tell me, Yugito, I know. You never expected the Internal Affairs Division to want you of all people undercover, but you were chosen for a good reason. No one expects a cowboy cop to be a mole." Erin said. "I mean, you drive a VCPD Cheetah from the eighties like it's Miami Vice."
"Fuck you. That car oozes cool, and I got a good deal on it from the impound lot. A piece of VCPD history." Yugito touted.
"During the most corrupt years in Florida. The place is only mildly less corrupt now. Does Akahoshi suspect you?" Erin asked.
"No, he doesn't." Yugito said. "And you read my report."
"I know. Just be careful. And considering Akahoshi is going to ask you to do dirty work, I suggest getting someone to do it for you." Erin remarked. "Because from what my boss told me, he's got a lot of dirty business on his plate, let alone he's pissing off a lot of people indirectly."
"Really? I thought the law was above hiring hitmen." Yugito said.
Erin however, looked at her female colleague straight in the eye and gave her a confused looking face.
"You can't always tell who the good guys are. Honestly, in my first few years in police work I've seen a lot of dirt bags, and some include bastards who wear the badge." Erin stated, adding with a sigh. "But we got to try and keep the people of this city safe, as much of a hard-ass job it can be."
"Yeah." Yugito couldn't agree more.
"Anyway, just keep your head low and try to get more evidence for Intelligence, because we're getting something here." Erin told her as she readied herself. "If there's anything, contact me. It's preferable to speak to me instead of one of those IAA pricks."
"Yeah, right." Yugito nodded to her and opened her door. "See you later."
"One last thing…we're soon to be going to be working with another agency. That agency." Erin said as Yugito balked.
"Oh fuck me…not them." Yugito said nervously.
"I'm sorry…but they asked for both of us." Erin said, shaking her head. "They really want us working with them."
Yugito left first as Erin walked back to her car, and the two then swiftly departed.
The Next Morning
[The Tahitian]
Naruto awoke hearing the sound of his phone blaring a j-pop song for an alarm, Flow's GO! Forcing him to wake up with a grunt coming from his mouth.
"Ugh…."
Naruto looked over to his phone and saw it was 10 in the morning. He sighed realizing he set the alarm too early, but he supposed it was better to wake up now. He looked over to see he was all alone, meaning his guests of honor had left without much of a warning or goodbye.
"Guess they'd leave earlier." Naruto said to himself.
Getting off to his feet, the blonde young man stood up and began stretching himself. He checked his phone for the new text that just came in. It was from Lamar and it read the following:
'Hey homie, LD here. Meet me up at my spot, opposite of Gerald's.'
"Another busy day." Naruto spoke to himself as he was getting himself some of his clothing.
He settled for a light red-orange Hawaiian shirt with dark red palm trees printed on it, a pair of blue jeans, and white Eris sneakers. He slipped on the pair of fingerless gloves that he often wore back home, ready to get to work. Walking to the door, he then noticed a paper on the door, which was odd, as he grabbed it and read it were two numbers.
Elisa and Fu
Your neighbors.
Naruto smiled before he then put the paper in his pocket and then opened the door so he could leave the apartment, and closed it behind him. Off to another day of work. When he arrived at Lamar's house, he was seen talking with a CGF member about an opportunity to make money.
And to be fair, it didn't really come across as a crazy idea.
[San Andreas Seoul]
"So, let me get this straight." Naruto began putting this in the correct order. "You want me to hijack a truck that's carrying gas?"
Lamar had a look that this plan was utter genius and that Naruto…rightfully concerned.
"Hear me out first, okay?" Lamar tried to keep Naruto's attention to his idea. "Right, you know that now the gas prices are rising, right?"
Naruto nods. "Yeah, inflation and some things like that. Why?"
"Because right there, opportunity is there." Lamar spoke. "With these prices up as fuck, especially in this state, we can make a good buck with the gas that's being transported at the moment. Premium gas for premium prices, homie."
"Right." Naruto kept on listening.
"I got a buyer who's interested in one tanker - a full one that my homeboy here scoped out." Lamar mentioned the gang member next to him. "All you gotta do is sneak on that truck, drive it up to Murrieta Heights, and wait for him there."
Hearing the plan, this sounds like a normal hijacking of a valuable commodity, this time not being involved with gangs, instead it being just a straight-up theft. Sounds like a good job for once, that didn't consist of shooting.
"Okay, I'm in." Naruto agreed and asked. "Where's that truck?"
"It's in Little Seoul, waiting at the LTD gas station for a while now." A Families' member said before giving a black bandana to Naruto.
"I advise you to use this, stealing gas these days can get you a Felony ticket to Bolingbroke."
Taking that advice to his mind, he would put it into his back pocket, as he then turned to Lamar and mentioned.
"Kinda need a lift, if I'm gonna be honest." Naruto remarked.
[~TWG:R~]
[Little Seoul]
Naruto was inside a purple colored Declasse Tornado, belonging to the gang member that had scooped out the tanker. The choice in color was to throw off any witnesses. The car had stopped right across the Y intersection and was overlooking the LTD gas station, with the Ron gas tanker in full sight parked and the driver seen standing outside. There was, however, one fatal flaw in the plan that the blonde cannot ignore.
"One problem though, the driver." Naruto stated before then asking. "What do we do about them?"
"Just watch…"
Turning to watch, Naruto then watched on what the Family member meant. The truck driver was seen lurking towards the back of the truck and pulling out something from his wallet and then putting something in his nose that he snorted.
"You see that? Driver's a user, and not just a normal one." The Family member pointed out while reminiscing on old rumors. "Heard he was using something from the East Coast, something from the Colombians, but never mind that. Punk's in debt and he can't call the police unless he's up for a possession charge."
"That works for me." Naruto said as he was putting the black bandana around his face to conceal his identity. "I'm ready."
"Aight, good luck."
Naruto stepped out luckily with nobody watching. He walked up the curb and went down the street towards the street to cross. The Tornado drove up, entering the gas station itself, making a shrieking sound in the turning.
*SHRIIEEEEEK!*
The sound caused the others in the parking lot to turn to that sound cringing at the noise.
"The hell's that?"
"Moron!"
The Tornado stopped right in front of the entrance of the gas station, with the owner coming out a bit angered by the debacle.
"What the hell's going on?"
"Sorry, old man. Ride's messed up." The Family member spoke, turning to the car. "Steering wheel, I think. It's a classic after all"
The distraction was enough for Naruto to sneak up to the truck that was luckily unlocked. He easily entered the driver's seat and began going underneath the steering wheel to try hot-wire the vehicle.
"Come on, work with me."
Took a few moments, but then he got it. The engine was running, and the truck began rolling. That was also the unfortunate cue for the truck driver, who saw that his truck was leaving without him.
"Hey, my truck!" The trucker shouted in panic, dropping his wallet.
Just when it hit the ground, white powder was seen coming out causing him to panic even more.
"Shit! My stuff!"
The trucker didn't have his priorities straight, as he kneeled down to the floor and tried to wipe away the evidence of the illegal substance. All the while, the truck full of gas was already leaving his sight, and on its way out of Little Seoul as he watched on too late.
"I'm dead." The trucker said in a panic, as he was unable to call the cops for obvious reasons.
So instead, he pulled out his phone, and dialed a number in. As much as he hated to do it. It was the only rational thing to do - in this line of business. He simply hoped to be in one piece after it. Once he managed to leave Little Seoul, Naruto made sure to look in his mirrors to see that two things were alright: one being that no fuel was leaking or any damage to the gas tank, and secondly, making sure he wasn't followed. Luckily, both were no problem, and the only thing he needed to do was drive this rig to its destination.
Bzzzzz!
That being his phone going off, Naruto pulled it out to see it was Lamar who was calling. He was quick to answer by putting him on speaker so he could focus on the road while speaking.
"Lamar."
"Heyo, N, my homie told me just a few minutes ago you went in and took the rig."
"I did, and I'm on my way." Naruto responded. "Just checked my rear, and it's a full tank."
He removed the bandana from his mouth and let it hang on his neck whilst focused on the road.
"Good to hear, very fucking good. Now listen, make sure to keep a low profile, and get to Murrieta Heights, waiting for you up there."
"Alright, I'll see you there then." Naruto said, relieved.
"Peace."
Just then after the phone conversation ended, Naruto had just then exited the Little Seoul area, just then as he entered the Los Santos Freeway, just what he needed. The drive for the most time was without any problems, except for the occasional traffic jam that LS is known for, where waiting was a bit of a crunch for from a few minutes to almost a half hour. After an hour's drive, he was close to exiting the freeway, with the next exit being that to East Lost Santos, which was close to where he needed to go off.
"Almost there." Naruto said to himself.
Just then, his luck seemingly had to go bust.
*Siren!*
Looking into his rear mirror, Naruto was unfortunate to spot that a police cruiser had then turned the sirens and sound on, and it was driving slowly behind Naruto. But yet luck had struck again for the blonde young man as the police cruiser began to hit the gas. They went past the trucker as it was called in for a call.
It was clear to Naruto weren't looking for him and that was a blessing, as he released a sigh of relief.
"I'm the luckiest bastard alive." Naruto whistled as he then took his turn towards El Burro Heights, exiting the freeway.
[~TWG:R~]
[Murrieta Heights]
Naruto rolled up to Lamar's depot with a simple sigh of relief as the garage door opened for him to deliver it. It being a rather big garage was a bit of a clue that Lamar was renting it off the books. With the job that was completed without too much trouble, it brought some calm to his mood. He walked out to see Lamar waiting for him.
"Got your gas." Naruto said as he stretched his back a bit. "Must be lucky, a cop car just drove past me not ten minutes ago."
"Would you be surprised how some of these cops are still checking your face before the license?" Lamar said, as he checked the fuel tank. "Now, we got a full payday, the buyer's coming to check it out later."
"Alright, when do I get paid?"
"You will once I get the paper." Lamar told him. "By the way, I parked your car over there…uhm, a bit far away I must say. Mind waiting here till the deal's finished?"
The car, indeed, was parked a little further than what Lamar was meant to, but it wasn't much of a bother to Naruto anyway.
"Nah, no big deal. I'll wait."
[San Andreas Seoul - Mission Passed +RP]
[Forum Drive]
Naruto kept his promise and gave Lamar a ride back home to Forum Drive. With the payment being wired to their accounts by this buyer, they both knew they were willing to call it a day.
"Will say, I kinda wanted to know who's buying that gas." Naruto asked while driving in his car. "Black market gas is usually like a mobster's hustle."
"Yeah, true, but I don't think these are mobsters. Not many of them are here from the East Coast." Lamar reiterated the fact he meant the Italian mafias from LC. "Sure, there is the Vagos up the pen, but they ain't keen working with black gangs like us."
"Then who else would be into that market?" Naruto asked, feeling his question wasn't getting answered. "Surely that gas has got to go somewhere."
Lamar thought about that question, and the only thing that came out was this one possibility.
"Well, there's this rumor that dealers out in the Senora Desert is using it to cook crank, but that can be any of them out there, many runners trying to control the crank and gun running in that place."
"And you're not involved in it, why?" Naruto asked.
"Because, too crazy and too much competition." Lamar told his reason. "Out there, you need an army of motherfuckers to keep that shit flowing, and protecting it. What no niggas from the set are willing to do. Plus, the violence is fucking high. Especially between the Varrios Los Aztecas and the Marabunta Grande."
Naruto had then arrived on Forum Drive and parked the car on the side. They both then walked slowly towards Lamar's property As they then resumed their conversation.
"Those two still active, I see."
"Not only active, they still ruthless as fuck, like they haven't changed since the 90's. The only difference is most of the Vagos moved out the city. Word is there are mass graves across that desert full of their victims." Lamar told him. "I'm not stepping into that mess, even if the money is good."
Naruto then couldn't help but laugh at that, causing Lamar to be confused by it and asking right up.
"What you laughing about?"
"Lamar Davis setting up a limit? Well that's a thing I didn't think I would see."
"Man, shut the fuck up." Lamar responded with a grunt, before he then went for his house keys.
*Siren!*
Just then, an unmarked cop car drove up just in front of Lamar's front yard, as two plain-clothes cops came out, one armed with a pistol and the other a pump shotgun.
"Show us your hands!" The first one said. "Now!"
"Why? We haven't even done anything!" Lamar said, only for the first cop to sneer.
"Oh, that sounds like a you-problem." The first cop said. "Now put them up."
"You got a warrant-"
"NOW!"
SLUMP!
Lamar got the worse, as the shotgun wielding officer had just slammed the but of his weapon into Lamar's stomach, which really hurt for the long Strawberry native.
"Oh, fuck-"
"Shut the fuck up!" The cop grabbed Lamar by the collar of his shirt and shoved him to the ground before grabbing his handcuffs. "You're under arrest."
"For what?!" Lamar yelled in anger, with saliva coming out of his mouth. "The fuck am I being arrested for?!"
"A gas truck hijacking." The first cop said, cuffing Lamar's hands tightly, that his wrists were in pain. "Now be a good little thug and don't try to be a nuisance. We'll find proof at the station."
"Go fuck yourself!"
"You too, buddy, move!" The pistol cop forced Naruto to the car, alongside Lamar.
Both then were slammed against the hood of the black Granger, with the police lights still flickering, it was now clear for Naruto that he could see some blood coming out of Lamar's mouth.
"Hey, L, you bleeding."
"I'm doing fine." Lamar replied, licking his lips to wipe out the blood. "Not my first time-"
"I told you to shut the fuck up, both of you!" The shotgun cop repeated, again slamming Lamar's head to the hood of his car. "Don't make me repeat myself!"
"Man, fuck you!" Lamar shouted back, this time not holding back. "You just admitted you don't have any proof we did anything, that's bullshit!"
"Shut the fuck up." The first cop with the pistol ordered, while searching Naruto. "You just sit tight, you too, boy."
Naruto, who by now, was getting very annoyed by the behavior of these cops muttered out in his native tongue, the following.
"Unko Kutte Shine."
That wording in a different language got the attention of the pistol cop, who forced Naruto to turn around.
"What did you say?" He demanded an answer in a low voice. "Repeat that again, in English!"
Now knowing that the officer had his pistol literally pointed at his face, the smart thing would be to not provoke the man with the gun any further and hopefully let it de-escalate the situation. However, Naruto didn't let this go and repeated.
"Unko Kutte Shine-"
SLAM!
The cop had then just pistol whipped Naruto across the face before he could even finish that sentence.
"Speak in English, you gook fuck." The cop threatened. "I won't tell it to you again.'
'Hey man, you being racist as fuck!" Lamar protested as he was being searched. "Police, my friend, my ass!"
Naruto just kneeled there on the ground, with the cop ordering to stand up.
"Boy, I warned you."
The shotgun cop was about to make a call for backup only to see that the community was seen coming out in numbers, with mainly the people from the community who were watching with frowned looks on the actions of the cops.
"What are you doing to them boys?" One of the older residents asked out first from the growing crowd. "They weren't bothering anyone."
"Back off, this is police business." The pistol-wielding cop warned the crowd, clearly not having it. "I only tell you it once-"
"Or what?" One of the locals responded defiantly. "You doing what? Shoot us? Go fuck yourself!"
Then more people began assembling, with even a few gang members being in the background, ready for a fight. With more members of the community coming to see what was precisely going on. It was at this point that the shotgun cop knew that things were escalating quickly, he knew that one more bad move could compromise them in the worst possible way.
"Let's release them."
"What?" The pistol cop protested. "But Akahoshi said-"
"That's an order, kid. Now follow through it." The clearly commanding cop said as he took off the cuffs from Lamar while holding him down.
*Click!*
Lamar stood back up and took a few steps back while glaring at the cops, the leading one equally glaring back.
"Stay out of trouble, boy."
"Whatever, officer!" Lamar remarked, clearly dissing the cop with that word.
The other cop was seen walking past the CGF member while deliberately bumping into him. The two entered the SUV, with the pistol-wielding cop giving a clear glare to Lamar as they drove away. As the cops were seen leaving Forum Drive, it was then that a few of the residents from the neighborhood took the moment to go and check on Naruto. Given a nasty open wound over his head, Naruto was luckily to be given a towel to keep the bleeding a little slower for now.
"Hey man, that pig gave you a nasty hit." Lamar said as he helped him up.. "But what did you say to him to get yourself beaten up?"
"Eat Shit and Die."
"What?"
"Eat Shit and Die." Naruto repeated, "That's what I said in Japanese."
"My nigga, you got such a beautiful language." Lamar said with a laugh. "You good though?"
"Yeah, I've had worse. Besides, maybe I can get those Zaibatsu painkillers and take it easy today." Naruto remarked. "Later L."
Naruto had left by passing by the nearby pharmacy for said pills and went to his apartment. Falling back to his couch, Naruto already grabbed a cold pack and put it against his head. The pain was still seething, but it was cooling down at least. This not being his first time getting a nasty beating, Naruto remembered how he often got into fights back in his school days, mostly because he got confronted and picked as an easy target.
It being in the hallways of his old school of Konoha High, or the dormitories in Bullworth, Naruto had for most part won his parts of fights. Leaving with bruises and busted lips or the occasional hour of detention.
Well, that came to an end after the big riot in Bullworth, where Naruto happily accepted a transfer out when he should have gotten expelled. Naruto was grateful to Jimmy Hopkins for that considering it led to him becoming friends with Lamar when he was in Los Santos to finish his last year as an exchange student. The fact he had the least amount of fights in one of the most dangerous cities of the US was rather ironic.
In his musing, the phone began going off on the table, buzzing around on the table as he could read who it was that's calling him.
It was his sister, Naruko. Answering the video call and there he saw his sister sitting at the family dinner table with a bowl of ramen. An almost exact replica of their mother, with red crimson hair and the face of her mother, only she had the eyes of their dad and a bit more of a calmer personality.
"Hey, Nii-san!"
"Hey sis. You're eating ramen, I see?" Naruto answered to her, without the formality. "Don't spill it, that's good food."
"No need to tell me that, I'm not an idiot." Narumi responded while slurping most of it in one go.
Naruto chuckled and asked. "How's it hanging there?"
But instead of an answer, he instead got a concerned look and a question himself.
"What's with your head?" Narumi pointed through the screen. "You got yourself in another fight again?"
"It's nothing, really. Just a bit of a bruise, no need to worry." Naruto told her, holding the cold pack. "Way long of a story, so how's things in Japan?"
"For one, you better hope it heals quickly, because I'm not covering for you once Kaa-san's calling you." Narumi told him, knowing she wasn't a person to accept such an excuse for an answer. "And second, Your 'ex-boyfriend' came around asking for you."
Rolling his eyes, Naruto knew exactly who Naruko was referring to with the 'ex-boyfriend.'
"Can you please stop calling Sasuke that? The joke died a long time ago." Naruto said dryly.
"Well how about your future cousin-in-law? Because you know he's been hanging around with Karin lately…far more often. I saw him leaving her place all tousled up"
Sasuke and Karin, the two were so different from each other, yet they somehow were an unexpected pair. With it being that Karin is a distant relative of them, and Sasuke being an Uchiha. Because of the old traditionalist culture and history of both clans, there would be an issue…among the old people who cared about that. Naruto really only cared that Sasuke was treating her right…other than that, he was fine with it.
"And I always thought Sasuke and Sakura would end up together." Naruto said, remembering the pinkette from way back.
"Naruto, that pink simp was not good for him. Karin didn't play to his ego. Between you and me, from what I'm hearing. Sakura's planning to study abroad." Naruko revealed, continuing to eat while informing her brother. "And she ain't the only one. Heard Ino is also going, Tenten too, Lee surprisingly also."
"How about Mom and Dad?" Naruto asked about his parents. "What are they planning?"
"Something big considering the extra shifts they're taking. As for me, I'm trying my hand at making those art drawings I do on the internet." Naruko said. "No way will I be working in a cubicle desk."
"That we both can agree on.' Naruto enthused. "You got talent, sis. I've seen your paintings."
"If only the people commissioning me that there my highest paying customers weren't total perverts." Naruko said dryly with irritation. "I'm pretty sure Sakura's the one who owns that knockoff Sasuke-looking OC I had to draw."
"Well, as long as she pays…"
"It'll be done." Narumi said as she then smiled sadly at the camera. "Anyway bro, I'll see you tomorrow, stay safe."
"Good night sis."
"Night…"
The screen turns black as Naruto puts the phone down. Having had another tough day finished, he wanted to lounge at home. He needed to do some clothes shopping, but he figured he would do it tomorrow. He went to bed.
Come the next day, it was another day going by in LS, and he was getting used to it now. Naruto was already up in the morning in his boxers bopping to the radio that was tuned to Radio Los Santos. He wanted to re-explore the city for a bit with the money he had made and do some shopping. Already having finished his breakfast cereal, he now was busy brushing his teeth and spit into the sink once he was finished. The constant disciplinary beatings from his mother had kicked in this lesson of mouth hygiene for sure.
*Knock! Knock! Knock!*
Hearing the door, Naruto whipped his mouth clean and announced. "I'm coming, gimme a minute!"
Grabbing for a shirt, Naruto quickly put it on before opening the door.
He was faced with a six foot tall black man, who had short hair and stood tall as him, and by recognizing the man, Naruto did not take long to see who it was.
"God damn, three fucking days and now I finally see you?"
That was Franklin Clinton at the door. Lamar's Partner-in-Crime and the smarter one of the two, having finally reunited with a long-lost friend.
Frank smiled and offered his hand. "Maaaan, good to see you back, Naruto!"
"Franklin, you too!" Naruto said excitedly fist bumping the man.. "Man, sorry for not contacting you. Been a heck of a few days."
"Shit, I can tell, your eye says it." Franklin mentioned the near black eye Naruto had. "My aunt Denise told me a few cops were hassling you and Lamar, and that is how I gotta find out you were back in LS?"
"Yeah, they wanted to rattle us a bit," Naruto told him. "But I basically asked for it when I told them to-"
"Eat Shit and Die in Japanese? Yeah, Lamar told me about that. That's bold, Nigga. Gotta give you that." Franklin chuckled at that before asking. "Say, you got something to do for today?"
Naruto shook his head saying, "No, I actually planned to take it easy now. Explore the city for a bit, do some shopping, grab a drink, that's all."
"Shit, if that's it, lemme buy you one." Franklin offered. "What's better than to hang out with some homies?"
Unable to decline such an offer, especially someone level-headed like Franklin, it sounded like a good idea to hang out with him for a bit.
"Okay, let's go then."
