Chapter 6: Liberty City Isaribi Chronicles

2008, quite a year for crime. You already knew I was a biker, but despite that I had a day job of sorts as a part-time cab driver for Bellic Enterprises and a bit as a small-time gofer of sorts for Tony Prince. I never knew their paths would cross. Well, it started with me and Niko about to kill some shithead Russian.

[Uncle Vlad]

On the Eastern shore of the Humboldt River, there was a car crash as one Vladimir Glebov was fleeing only to run out of options when he saw the sea as he was confronted by Niko Bellic, Roman Bellic, and Isaribi Umi.

"Fucking yokels, you think you can get away with killing me?" Vladmir said as Isaribi rolled her eyes.

"I guess I'll find out." Niko said, cocking his pistol.

"You think this is worth it? You're throwing you and your fatty cousin's lives away for that bit of Puerto Rican chocha." Vladimir said as Roman glared at him. "And then there's this chink."

"First off, I'm Japanese. Chink is a Chinese slur, you red army reject." Isaribi said, cocking her sawed-off shotgun. "And Mallorie talks a bit about how much you suck in bed, Mr. Minute Man."

Roman snorted at that as Vladmir was red with anger.

"We're throwing your life away, prick." Niko said with a glare. "We'll do alright."

"My friends will track you down. You won't lost a…GAH!" Vladimir said before screaming as Isaribi shot his hand off.

"Looks like we'll last a lot longer than you, shithead!" Niko said confidently.

"Fuck you, I wish I could be there to watch Mikhail cut your peasant balls off." Vladimir said as Niko took aim. "Mikhail Faustin thought of me as a brother, he'll find you. Hove Beach is a small place, my friends will find you!"

Niko looked down at the pleading Vladimir, smugness wiped away as he was bleeding on the knees.

"You were the stupid one, Vladdy boy!" Niko said before putting a bullet right between Vlad's eyes. "No one fucks with my family!"

There ended the life of Vladimir Glebov, dying as he lived…in America's gutter.

I took my leave then and there. It was until I was in my car that it hit me that we just messed with Faustin Mafiya. I was not too worried about myself…more really for Niko. But I kept my distance from Hove Beach for a time. On the day the fallout of killing Vlad came, I was dealing with Lost business that night…the beginning of its decline.

[Clean and Serene]

"Yo, Isaribi." Estelle said. "The guys are getting ready to head out."

They were at the Lost MC clubhouse in Alderney as Isaribi was getting ready to ride out. She settled to wear a black tank top that hid a layer of body armor, indigo jeans, a pair of tan calf boots, and her fingerless gloves. She snatched her black patched biker jacket off the rack before tying a Japanese hachiman on her right sleeve.

"Estelle, get home to your mom safe all right." Isaribi said before leaving.

"I wish I didn't have a curfew." Estelle said as Isaribi rolled her eyes.

I always did envy that Estelle had a mother to go home to…but I could never say that to Estelle's face back then.

"Whatever." Isaribi said going downstairs.

The Lost MC were readying to ride out with some of its members helping their wheelchair bound member Angus out of the clubhouse. Isaribi had a confident look on her face as said hello to Angus. It was unusual that a female would be a member of the Lost, let alone a patched one, but Isaribi had done it. She had felt so proud as she walked to her bike of her choice, her violet-black Hellfury with dark blue flame decals. The motorcycle was a customized affair just like Johnny's, being a work between herself, Estelle, and Danica. The exhaust pipes were titanium tipped and the rims were painted midnight purple.

She got it and revved it up.

"Come on everybody, break it up. Let's go." Johnny said, getting on his bike.

Estelle was the last to come out.

"Dad, I'm heading back home." Estelle said getting to her similarly customized Hellfury.

Hers was camo colored with red, white, and blue flames.

"Tell Jackie I'll be back soon." Jim said as Estelle rode off.

As Isaribi, she took off following Johnny, Jim, Brian, Jim, Clay, and Jason.

Despite my misgivings with the Lost, I still flashback to riding in formation with the Lost. It was a great feeling tearing through the streets in Alderney feeling like you owned it all. Of course, we were on the way to the hospital to pick that piece of shit Billy up. Now Billy did not know me…but I knew a hell a lot about him from Angus.

Isaribi waited in silence with the other brothers as Johnny was the one to give Billy his jacket back once the parole officer and the sponsor took off.

"Home sweet home." Billy said, putting it on.

The group had rode back with Billy mostly talking to Johnny. Isaribi was hanging back listening in on the conversation.

My old biker jacket from back in the day had patches. For bikers, it's a sign of accomplishment, rank, and showing your personality. I had the TLMC path for the club, the Enforcer patch for my title, a Skull patch for killing for the club, a Liberty patch, a White Wings patch for fucking a virgin, and a Red Wings patch for doing down on a woman on her period.

"Since when do we let women be members?" Billy asked. "And I thought we didn't have chinks in our ranks."

"Isaribi's Japanese. Not Chinese." Johnny remarked.

"It's the same thing. You're all yellow." Brian said as Isaribi kept silent.

"Lay off her, man. She's proven herself to be worthy. Hell, you pussed out of fighting her." Johnny said, speaking up. "And the brothers can vouch for her."

"You sure, last I checked…only Angels of Death ride Hellfuries." Billy said as Isaribi rode on ahead.

We had arrived back at the clubhouse 'celebrating' Billy's release. I was not all too pleased about it , Especially with him wanting his bike back which meant shitting on the peace treaty with the AoD. I didn't like the racist bastards, but I knew going to war with them when they have more means than us was stupid. I didn't go with them when they sought out the chop shop for information, I went off on my own…but that was the beginning of how the Lost was Damned. The next day was the start.

[Angels of America]

Isaribi sighed as she got ready for the day getting on a simple white t-shirt, camo fatigues, and her boots before getting on her jacket. She hated living in the same damn apartment building as Ashley. She got her things in order before leaving. As she walked down the hall, she noticed a guy come out of Ashley's apartment. Ashley pouted her head out and there was seed on her face…clearly dried. Isaribi went out the fire escape to her bike.

I didn't judge Ashley for sleeping around, but doing so while stringing Johnny's heart along was what pissed me off about her. That and her presence just fucking up everyone around her. I headed to the clubhouse meeting Johnny there. There was still a party going from last night celebrating Billy's return and getting his Revenant back.

"Hey Johnny K!"

"And if it isn't Vietnam Valerie." Brian Jeremy joked.

"Fuck you. You know I'm Japanese." Isaribi sniped.

"Lighten up, Isaribi. Take a joke." Billy remarked. "Be like me, I am clean!"

"Real nice." Johnny said dryly.

"Oh fuck you, Johnny!" Billy said, shoving off the girl on his lap before getting up. "You don't judge me."

"I thought you were clean and able to take jokes." Isaribi snapped.

Before Billy could snap at her, Jason Micheals interrupted saying some Angels of Death members were here.

Billy shot the lieutenant right on the steps of the clubhouse. Early in the morning where people could see there was a body. While all of them ran off to chase out the Deadbeats, I had to remain behind to dispose of the body.

Isaribi's one annoyance is that she had to dispose of the body. While she was not ordered to do so, she was not going to leave a corpse for someone to find in front of the clubhouse where she literally saw said person. First off, she had dragged the corpse in the alley. Secondly, she had a pair of prospects load her bike in a van to put her bike back to the apartment building. She had to source an empty Vapid Lost Slamvan to stash the body before driving the thing off a cliff in Westdyke.

If it was not for the fact that I found a really cool Sultan RS there, I would have been even more pissed. As was, I was mildly annoyed. Then Johnny calls me for backup…duty called.

Having picked up her go-bag, she was racing in the blue and black Karin Sultan RS, a pretty snazzy ride. As she drove, a speeding Angel of Death crashed into the car wrecking his WTC Daemon and sending the mook to split his head on the curb.

Johnny rode up. Isaribi looked tired and noon had barely come to the city. She was partly pissed that she had to drop the body alone. If Billy wanted to murder someone, he could dispose of the body himself or not do it in front of the clubhouses, she thought.

"What are you doing in a cage?" He asked.

"Long story." She said, "That's the last guy?"

"Yeah, he is." Johnny said, calling up Billy.

"Johnny, man. You let those Deadbeats tell their buddies that a war is on?" Billy asked him.

"No, I stopped them. We don't need more brothers dyin' over this." Johnny retorted.

"Sensible Johnny K. Come meet us on Grummer Road, brother." Billy said before hanging up.

"I'm coming with. I owe Billy an explanation." Isaribi said as she and Johnny got to riding.

In reality, I wanted to tell Billy off. In hindsight, that year would expose many things wrong with the last. We arrived at the spot Billy wanted to meet. I parked the car out of Billy and Jason's sight and walked up to the spot.

"Isaribi, where were you? Weren't you supposed to help your brothers?" Billy asked.

"Billy, I was helping. I got rid of the dead body you left at our club doorstep." Isaribi said harshly. "What were you thinking?"

"Would you rather I let him live and start a war?" Billy asked. "Woman up, you're a patched member."

"However, the disaster's averted! And Billy, give her some credit. She came in the last second to take out the last guy." Johnny said as Jason cheered.

"You two coming back?" Johnny asked both Isaribi and Jason.

"I'd love to, but I'm going over to Broker to spend some time with the brothers there and I'm seeing a hot Russian broad. I'm going to drink her daddy's expensive liquor and then fuck her under the pier." Jason said excitedly.

"I'm going to keep out of Alderney for some time." Isaribi said, being rather vague. "I need to keep away from Lost turf."

She walked away ignoring Billy's words as he and Jason rode away.

"Wait, Isaribi. Here." Johnny said, giving her $500. "Thank you for dealing with that body."

She took it and sighed watching Johnny go before going to her own car. As she tore through the city streets, she was awash with the thought. On the one hand, she did hate the AoDs. She hated having to do a peace talk and treaty with him. But, she knew that in life, you had to do deals with people you despise.

It would be until a few days later I realized what Russian broad Jason was banging. The daughter was Anna Faustin, daughter of the head of the Faustin Bratva. The thing is, I could have warned him which could have possibly saved. But Jason was a bullheaded sleazebag. It would be my first betrayal of the Lost.

[No Love Lost]

Isaribi looked at herself in the mirror. She had dyed her hair black and put blue contacts on her eyes. She donned a black track top under a gray flight jacket, black and white track pants, black fingerless gloves, dark Hinterland boots, Broker gray tinted shades, and a Russian army cap. She had been mostly living with Brucie who had helped stash the Sultan RS.

While there, she helped Niko with dealing with Faustin. Now she was riding in what was Ivan's Imponte Ruiner with Niko driving. Neither had regretted sparing him considering Vlad manipulated them all into conflict, plus he had offered his car to Niko as payment. They arrived at the Faustin mansion.

Mikhail Faustin was a ball of anger supplemented by cocaine and alcohol. I felt bad for his wife, but that's life for you. Despite this, he was surprisingly one of the better bosses I worked for. We came to find him and wife arguing over…their daughter.

"You alright?" Niko asked.

"What?" Mikhail said.

"Mr. Faustin?" Niko asked again.

"No, I'm fucking angry!" He snapped before calming down and taking up Anna. "You know her?"

Niko took a good look only to say no.

"Good, because if you did, I'd fucking kill you. And what about you, Isabelle?" Mikhail remarked, turning his attention.

If it's one thing I was grateful to Faustin was bungling my name…and calling me Isabelle. Because in doing so, Dimitri would not be able to track me so easily. I just gave them a generic last name and I was golden.

"I do. She was a patron for a cab ride. She and some biker guy…they fucked me over out of a cab fare." Isaribi said dryly as Mikhail sighed.

"How much was the fare?" Mikhail asked.

"Thirty dollars." She said as he paid her.

"Honestly, this proves my point. That biker pimp piece of shit boyfriend is a bad influence. That girl, Niko, is my daughter. Ungrateful bitch." Mikhail said, going into a bit of detail. "I brought her here, I spoiled her rotten."

As crazy as Mikhail was, if he was my father…I'd probably not really get him mad. Heck, I would have gone to pursue an acting career. If I could have gotten away with it, I'd smack Anna upside her entitled head.

The objective was given to Niko and Isaribi. Kill Jason Michaels.

I could have opted out, but I decided against that. The past few several days while aiding, I was trying to warn Jason against dating Anna. But my warnings were ignored or laughed off. Too late for them down. Honestly, it was one of those days I was asking myself why I was even bothering to help him. I didn't even like Jason, but I did because he was close to Johnny. But even then that wasn't enough.

"Get away from Mr. Faustin's daughter." Niko said walking up with Isaribi.

"Fuck you, this ain't Russia and we ain't communists." Jason snapped.

"He's a Serb, you uncultured fuck!" Isaribi snapped.

"Isa? What the fuck are you doing here?" Jason remarked.

"Tell my father I could see who I like!" Anna snapped.

"Honey, you don't want to ride with that sleazebag. He's a fucking pimp and he has a girl in Bohan, and several in Alderney. I do know you got tested for STDs and STIs. Last I checked, he had crabs." Isaribi said as Anna turned to Jason who looked like he was caught.

"I'm going to get the brothers and we're going to kick your fucking asses!" Jason said before riding off on his Zombie.

Niko jacked a nearby motorcycle as Isaribi got on the back of it.

I knew if he got far enough to call the others, I was fucked. Damned if I do, damned if I don't. I had to choose my loyalties for the first time as they intersected. It was the first time, but not the last time I sided with Niko over Johnny. I readied my Sawn-Off Shotgun and took aim.

Bullets rang out in the streets and we were swerving through traffic on the streets. Jason always was good on a bike and it was clear to her that Niko was getting used to using the motorcycle while his SMG at him.

She did not want to damage the bike and then she saw her chance. Taking aim, she shot a car's tire out causing it to serve, sending Jason flying off his bike and into the street. His leg was broken as Niko pulled to a stop for him and Isaribi to get off.

"You fucking traitor." Jason hissed. "Johnny will…"

She kicked him in the ribs.

"He'd be more pissed that you risked making the Lost bitches to the Russian Mob for over-priced coochie." Isaribi said switching to a Combat Pistol.

Niko got his Combat Pistol as they took aim down at him.

"Nothing personal on my end." Niko said before aiming his pistol.

"Fuck you-"

BANG!

Jason's head yanked backwards, with the blood sputtering out of his wavy hair, all over the ground, the life of Jason Michaels' ended right there.

Niko lowered his gun and turned to her. "You ok?"

"Yeah. We need to focus on clearing out. I'll take his bike. Ditch or stash the other one and I'll meet up later." Isaribi said before taking the key and money off Jason's body. "Now it's not like Jason didn't do it to himself. I warned him."

As I rode away on Jason's bike, I simply sighed. I didn't like what I did, but I knew it had to be done. Ironically, the Russian mob would still find a way to make the Lost bitches, but that's another story. I returned to Brucie's to get that bike resprayed. It'd be then, I get a call from Johnny. They needed help at Acter Industrial Park. Of course, I immediately changed my appearance, getting rid of the contacts and getting the dye out of my hair. Thankfully, I could rely on Roman's cab service

[It's War]

Now in a white Cervis long sleeve shirt, dark jeans, her biker jacket, her usual biker boots, she tied a black bandana to hold up as much hair as she got, leaving a bit of fringe out. The hair that looked the most purple until all the dye got out. Mohammed ragged on, but she learned to tune him out. When she arrived close to the destination, she had him drop her off.

It was the second wave of AoDs, but I came in clutch to help raze them all. It would be after the last guy was killed, Billy got a call of Jason's demise.

"Brothers…and sister. Come on in, gather round." Billy said as they rolled up or walked up. "Chill out, Brian."

They all looked expectantly as Billy pretended to look sad.

"I just got word that Jason's been killed up in Broker." Billy said as the brothers looked saddened.

"Aw man…" Johnny said.

"He was banging some Russian broad and her heavy duty father didn't like that too much." Billy said.

"He hired a fucking Polack and some yellow bitch for it. Maybe you know her name Isaribi." Brian said.

"I think he was a Serb and she was Chinese." Billy said.

"Fucking Slav scumbag all the same, and a chink is a chi-"

"Shut the fuck up." Billy snapped.

The one time I finally have a shiver of respect for Billy. Even he had to be annoyed with Brian simping for his ass daily.

"Isaribi. I could use some details." Billy said.

"I was in the neighborhood, when I saw Jason being chased. I was coming out of Johnson's. Got a bad one and had a bad case of the runs." Isaribi said, getting a few chuckles. "What I saw was clearly the tail end. Jason had wiped out and they…executed him. Took off with his bike too. I managed to get to him…he was dying. Asked me to look over his bike. Jason and I had a bit of a bet going on. I warned that the broad's dad had serious mob ties. He kept insisting he'd be fine and told me I could have his bike if it ever came back to bite him. He kept insulting me despite me trying to be the bigger sister. Now he's dead, and now I can't even stay in that part of Broker."

I was always a good actor. I had to sell that I cared about the bastard after all. Sometimes, words can be just as effective as bullets. You just needed the right ones. I had pretty much checked out of liking or caring for the piece of shit. All I could think about was how much this turd slighted me, gave me shit, and his treatment of the girls he pimped. But I made it look like I cared and drank a bit of the beer given to me. Looked enthused as I could when Billy gave his little speech about Jason, honestly, he was acting as much as I was.

"Jason Michaels. Lost, but not forgotten." Billy said.

They all threw their bottles to the ground. Billy went on about it being important to follow your leader before bidding them goodbye. Everyone started to leave and Isaribi saw a Lost brother had died from a bullet to the gut. It was just her and Johnny.

"I think I'll go get Jason's bike." She said going over to a downed LCS Lycan. "I can barely stick around Alderney. I've been looking into the situation. They found the body of the lieutenant."

"I wouldn't worry." Johnny said reassuringly before racing off.

I didn't feel much guilt, and I did get the bike. Served me well, but that was the start of how the Lost was falling to shit. Considering Billy would take advantage of my lie later on…I guess I may be partly to blame.

(A/N: No current stats given this is a flashback chapter. I had to admit that this was a long one, but I wanted to cover these missions in one chapter to really surmise the start of the Lost's fall. There's an ironic twist considering if you technically think about it…Isaribi is technically undermining them to protect herself…and Niko. Now, we continue the main story!)
