Chapter 7: Death in the Desert

[Sandy Shores]

As the duo were driving what was the Lost's Journey full of meth supplies, Naruto was thinking of Isaribi's story. 2008 had sounded nuts as hell, but it was a mere scratch on the surface. She had said when she felt more comfortable later on, she could continue.

"The tease." He thought as he pulled up near Liquor Ace.

Chef came down to make a quick inspection before wordlessly paying them each 10,000 dollars. Naruto got the Hexer he stole from a dead biker out of the Journey.

[Mission Passed! +RP]

"Naruto, ready to go back to Los Santos?" She asked as he got on the back of the bike.

"Hell yes." Naruto said only to see a text from Gerald. "What does he even want?"

'Naruto, you still in SS?' - Gerald

Naruto responded with a yes before he called.

[Hit 'Em Up]

"I got for you and that partner of yours. A list of Ballas got to get clapped. I had an order planned for them not to suspect, but seeing you're in Sandy Shores already. You're going to work that list behinds. It's Terrance, Small F, Little T, and Big T. Get to it, you two goin' get paid." Gerald remarks.

"She and I are on it." Naruto hung up as Gerald texted a location for Terrance.

The two looked at her as he drove them back to the house. Ultimately, Isaribi opted to leave her Hellfury at the house and go back to LS with the Double T. She had to grab her duffel bag before getting back out on her bike. Naruto got a duffel bag packed with half of the new clothes Isaribi bought him before getting back on his Hexer, opting to leave the Zombie at the house. The hunt was on, but the first stop was the nearest Ammu-Nation.

Isaribi got her Carbine Rifle upgraded with an extended clip, a grip attachment, and a flashlight attachment before getting ammo for her weapons. Naruto got ammo, but paid 400 to have his Pistol. 50 tinted orange. At least he bought a rocket launcher and replaced the shotgun, she thought.

~[Terrance]~

The Ballas OG was having a meet up with several rednecks to discuss business in the sale of marijuana. Ballas wanted to step up production and they realized teaming up with a group of people outside the city who can grow decent weed was a hot ticket. The issue was the meeting spot. It was in the middle of nowhere in an abandoned motel. Despite this, the discussion was going well.

"Look now that we cool, I'm out of this ho." Terrance said getting in his purple Ocelot Jackal with his associate. "I…"

BLAM!

Terrance's burnt body was blown to pieces with his head rolling at the feet of the rednecks. The two rednecks bolted only for one to get sniped and the other blown up by a rocket. Scores of Ballas came out the motel, but Naruto and Isaribi made it rain bombs from the safety of the roof.

"This should make it faster." Naruto said before firing another rocket into the swarm of Ballas. "There we go…"

Naruto texted Gerald for the next location which was a foreclosed farm in Baytree Canyon Road and that they only needed to kill Small F and go. The pair got on their bikes and took off, but made sure to collect off the dead.

The Ballas and Rednecks were scrambling to find who put a bullet through Small F's head not realizing that Naruto and Isaribi were already fleeing the scene.

"You're a pretty good sniper." She remarked. "Who's next?"

"Be my guest." Naruto said before texting for the next spot.

"Hydro Plant on Route 13. He's leaving." Naruto read out as they got going.

~[Little T]~

[Route 13]

Little T was riding in the passenger's seat while the other Balla drove the Dubsta. Isaribi rode up from behind and threw a sticky bomb on the back of the car before hitting on her bike to drift back to let Naruto shot the bomb blowing up with the two Ballas inside. The wreck rolled along the highway.

"One more to go. We're heading to Mirror Park for Big T. G only needs him taken out." Naruto said as they raced down the highway.

[Los Santos]

Big T was standing right out in the open which was perfect for Naruto to use his last rocket in his rocket launcher to blow up. The two were back in Los Santos and finally done with work. It was a straight shot to Gerald's.

"It's all done." Naruto said. "I deleted the texts."

"Good, I did the same." Gerald said, handing them 2,250 dollars each. "Later."

The two nodded before leaving.

[Mission Complete! +RP]

The afternoon was slowly becoming the evening.

"Naruto, I'll see you later. I gotta check out my new apartment." Isaribi said before riding off.

Naruto made his first stop at the nearby Los Santo Customs. He wanted to treat himself to a customized bike. First order of business was a paint job getting the bike painted with a metallic sunrise orange stripped with black. He got the bike looked at for what upgrades it already had, and he was pleased to see that it already had Race Transmission and Race Brakes. Handling and braking were not going to be issues.

Naruto put his bike down for a new Blue on White plate, a 40% Armor Upgrade, a Level 2 EMS Upgrade, Xenon Lights, a tracker, Turbo Tuning, and bulletproof tires.

"10,950." The mechanic said as Naruto paid up. "We'll get to work right away. You can wait in the lounge."

Naruto went but moved to the bathroom to change out of his clothes to a Rearwall blue t-shirt under a black Hinterland hoodie, olive cargo shorts, a black Feud fitted cap, and a pair of black sneakers. He jovially sat in the lounge while on his phone. He was in the middle of watching memes when his phone rang. He saw it was Fu calling.

"Hey, Fu. What's up?" Naruto asked.

"Can you pick me up?" She asked. "If you're not doing anything."

"Where are you?" Naruto asked.

"I'm at the San Andreas Gallery of Modern Art with my class. I finished my assignment early so I can leave to go home." Fu remarked.

"Alright, where is it?" He asked.

"Richman Street." Fu said.

"I'm in Burton. And I'll be there in a few minutes." Naruto said. "By the way, what are you even studying anyway?"

"Entomology." Fu said.

"Of course, you are." Naruto said. "I'll see you in a bit."

He hung up and waited for his bike to be ready before the mechanic asked what Naruto wanted on the plate. Naruto opted for 'BIGD', even if it was childish. The ride to the museum was a relaxed affair before coming up on the place. There was Fu, all in jeans, sneakers, and a college hoodie with her backpack. She walked up and got on. Naruto was quick to leave with her.

"Nice bike. How'd you get it?" Fu asked.

"A Lost biker didn't need it anymore." Naruto said as she laughed.

"But seriously, if you got a lower-tier job, I'd like to come and help. I could use the money. Anything that pays big to get rid of college debt." Fu remarked.

"You can't be serious." Naruto said.

"I'm scraping by, Naruto. I could use some change and my job at 24/7 pays crap." Fu said. "If I can get cash to fund my education, it'd be a sweet relief and change from being stuck relying on working for scholarships and making attempts at work-studies."

"I'll think about it." Naruto said.

[Los Santos]

Isaribi had cashed in her coupon for a free respray and put a few thousand on a tracker and getting a new plate for the bike as pulled up on 0504 South Mo Milton Drive. According to the description, it was recently renovated.

"Well it's good for West Vinewood. Six car garage is a plus." She thought as she wheeled her bike into the garage.

She had simply put on a hoodie at the LSC to ensure she would not match descriptions. Her thoughts were on having a proper garage to herself. She smirked as she could get some tools and work on her rides here with complete privacy. She lugged her things to her new apartment. The apartment itself was a compact place with the living room and kitchen connected with a door leading to her personal bedroom and bathroom. The place was well decorated and had no signs of any Epsilon stuff to her relief. There was a massive flat screen TV hung up in the living room with an EXsorbeo 720 hooked up with a few games on the stuff with surround sound.

"Marnie, you certainly made it up." Isaribi said going into her bedroom to unpack.

She changed out to more relaxed wear with a simple white I Heart LS t-shirt, blue denim shorts, and white flip-flops. As far as she was concerned, Naruto and her deserved a day off. She was about to put her phone on silent when Lester called.

She answered as she plopped down on her couch and put on the television.

"Lester." She remarked.

"I see you're out of Sandy Shores." Lester remarked. "I hope Trevor didn't give you much trouble."

"Least of my problems." Isaribi said. "What do you got for me?"

"I've been looking into your partner's progress and history. I think he's ready." Lester remarked. "When can you two meet up at my place?"

"Monday. We need this weekend, I'll bring him Monday morning." She said relieved. "I'll call if anything changes. Later on."

She hung up and put the phone on vibrate before turning her attention to the television.

[Los Santos]

Naruto was kicking back on his couch relieved that the day was finally over. He had dropped Fu off at the Tahitian, but she could not hang out with Naruto as she had homework to handle. He understood and got to work on a few things, namely get started on day trading.

It was a simple start putting $500 dollars into eCola stock. Now all he had to do was wait for it to grow…hopefully. As he relaxed, something was going on in the depths of the Mission Row Police Station.

"Promotion?!" Yugito snapped.

"Now I'll be honest in that I don't think you're ready, but…." Akahoshi remarked with a wide grin. "I'm happy to call you Detective Nii."

Yugito knew something was very wrong as he presented her new badge and listed a few benefits.

"This means you can operate in plain clothes and you'll be able to corral some local hoods to do your dirty work for you. Because as a Detective, your job is to cover our backs. Understood?" Akahoshi said sternly as she nodded. "Good, now you can go."

Yugito knew she was on the thick of it now as she left. She was well aware she had to play the part and get her hands dirty. She hoped maybe she could do some good out of it, at least.

(A/N: Yugito's around the corner, but let's our protagonists get some downtime. They've been on their feet all week! I will say that the Establishment Arc will end once the two met Lester. Which means Martin Madrazo is going to be met on the weekend.)
