I can hear the town calling my name in my dreams. Enticing me to go to the town where I've never been. My father, James Sunderland, once told me the story behind that god-forsaken town. I knew it was just a story or at least I thought it was until one day, shortly after my father committed suicide, I got a letter in the mail included was a blank sheet of paper and two maps one with directions to the town and one of the town itself. I was in shock I couldn't tell my father and I had to go so I called my best friend Kyra and we left that night for Silent Hill.

My name is Zane I used to live in a small out of the way town not worth knowing its name and I'm seventeen years old. Silent Hill is the siren in my dreams calling to me sweetly either to salvation or to doom. The night we left was stormy, cliché right. The music was static and we consulted the map often. Then finally we reached it. We were at Silent Hill.

We got out of the car and walked to a small café near the edge of the deserted town. The mist, just as my father had said, was thick and I could barely see in front of me. We got to the café and looked around. There was no one in site and there was a faint buzzing coming from a table to our immediate right. I walked over and picked up a radio.

"What the hell is a radio doing just lying around?" I asked

"Don't ask me but might as well take it this town is deserted no one's gunna miss 'em." Kyra eyed the endless fog, "What did your dad tell you about this place anyway?"

I sat down in a nearby chair trying to remember what conversations I had gotten out of my dad. They seemed so long ago everything fading after his . . .untimely death. Then I remembered one conversation about this "ghost town."

"The only conversation that I can seem to remember is the one about his first wife. He said she died and then he got a letter from her saying she was here in Silent Hill. He came and met this chick," I stopped trying to remember her name." I think it was M...M...M something, and I don't remember much else about her or this town and I don't know why."

Kyra gave me a questioning look and got up and said, "Well we might as well have a look around." With that we began our look of the town.

The town was dead still and we ran into no soul for the better part of two hours. Then we heard a noise coming from the alleyway and the radio began to buzz loudly. When we went to inspect a creature that looked like a twisted child's toy attacked us. I was to stunned to do anything as it crept towards me and Kyra stood in place as terrified as I was. Right before the thing attacked me someone or something blew a hole in its head.

I didn't see anything other than the body of the creature and Kyra paralyzed where she stood. I looked for a shadow or anything so I could thank whoever had saved my life, but still I saw no one. Then out of the corner of my eye I saw a faint shadow entering and abandoned building. I took off in pursuit no noticing Kyra was not with me.

When I entered the building it was not normal. There was blood everywhere and the radio I had was going like mad. In front of me was a handgun and a couple of bullets cases. I picked up the gun loaded it and put the rest of the bullets in my deep pockets where they fit easily. When I looked around for Kyra I noticed she was nowhere to be found and when I went to the door it had locked. I was alone in some strange twisted building with no chance of an easy exit and to make matters worse I was sure there were more of those strange creatures around so I was not safe either.
