DISCLAIMER: I OWN NOTHING EXCEPT THE PLOT AND MY ORIGINAL CHARACTERS!
A/N: WELCOME BACK, EVERYONE! YOU ARE JUST IN TIME FOR THE RELEASE OF CHAPTER 48! YIPPEE!
So, to start off, I wanted to tell you how excited I am for This Chapter. Ever since I started with Chapter 1 back in April, 2015, I have been looking forward to This Section of the story. Like my profile indicates, Disney's "'Secret OF The Wings (2012)'" is one of my TOP 5 Favorite Disney Movies. It's my #1 Favorite Disney Fairies Movie, too! It is also a key part of multiple story arcs continuing throughout all three of my stories.
That aside, I have something important to state. With another world announced for "'KINGDOM HEARTS 3'", the world of "'Monsters Inc. (2001)'", I wanted you all to know that, whether this main trilogy is completed or not by the time the games is released, I shall NOT quit this series! I shall keep it going until the very end.
Besides, my next story does not contain all the same worlds as the ones announced for the upcoming "'KINGDOM HEARTS 3'"! Many of the ones I am including might never show up in the games as it is. That goes for ALL of my stories in general, Not Simply The Sequel To This Story!
As a side note, I went to see Disney's "'A Wrinkle In Time (2018)'" at the theater this past week. While I recommend it, I honestly have to state that, unless you pay close attention to the dialogue, you might have to re-watch the movie later with subtitles. It is still a great story, yet it can be a little hard to follow. Oh well! No story is perfect, correct? Besides, it IS a Fantasy movie, so I let it slide.
So, without further ado, here is a piece of TRIVIA for you today!
DID YOU KNOW? Tinker Bell might be the most famous fairy in all of Never Land, yet she is NOT THE ONLY one Peter Pan and the Lost Boys have met! In one of the Disney Fairies novels, it is also revealed that after Wendy went back home to London, Peter Pan and Tinker Bell got into a fight. The result? Tinker Bell returned to Pixie Hollow.
It is also stated how one particular sparrow man had wandered around the island for years before coming back with all sorts of stories to tell. One of them being how he had met Peter Pan and the Lost Boys.
So, with that all aside, LET'S CATCH UP WITH EVERYONE ON NEVER LAND RIGHT NOW!
PLEASE READ TO YOUR HEART'S CONTENT! PLEASE DO NOT FORGET TO REVIEW, TOO! EVERY LITTLE OR LONG REVIEW GETS US ONE STEP CLOSER TO OUR GOAL OF 240!
CHAPTER 48
The Perfect Lost Thing
The grass seemed to have grown taller. A gentle wind had picked up, but Donald tried his best to ignore it. Ever since he and Goofy had watched Sora and Amemi depart with Tinker Bell, they had begun a search to find the last of the Heartless roaming freely in the meadow. It was not an easy task. Some of the enemies were stronger than they looked. True, that might be an explanation for most types of Heartless. But still… it was not easy to fly and fight.
Fight and fly. Donald could barely keep his wand straight. Many of his magical attacks kept missing the Heartless down below. His Thunder spell occasionally struck down one or two, but it was Goofy's spinning shield that kept the monsters at bay for the most part.
Donald did not want to admit it, but Goofy's rather clumsy moves were the key part to their offensive here.
They wiped out the last of the greenish-black praying mantis-like Heartless and proceeded on down the path. Donald and Goofy took a quick moment to catch their breath and scan the area. Still no sign of Launchpad. Nor Indigo. Come to think of it, they had not seen the angel since they had arrived in this world. Where could she be?
"Still no sign of them," Goofy remarked.
Donald turned to the knight. "Keep looking!" he ordered like a general in the army. It was another of the habits he had picked up while serving in the Second World War, even if it had been under the command of Sargeant Peg-Leg Pete. Back then, all the duck mage had wanted to do was fly in the Air Force. Now, here he was flying around with wings on his back.
It was not as easy as he had always dreamed it would be.
The two proceeded through the grass. They pushed their way through the gigantic blades and finally came upon a large box-like structure sitting in a clearing. Goofy eyed the orange-like object depicted faintly on the side of the building. He licked his lips. "'Tangerines'," he read the writing beside it.
Donald marched up to the entrance and stepped inside. Goofy quickly followed. The interior of the place was a bit messy. The floor was covered in various art supplies, including baskets of berries, bowls of fruity paint, and brushes of all shapes and sizes. Colorful canvases lined the walls. The paintings depicted various sights and sounds from nature.
"A-Hyuck!" Goofy remarked. "Artsy!"
Donald eyed one of the paintings closely. It depicted a young woman with fairy-like wings flying through the forest. She was decked out in a short-sleeved pinkish jacket, red skirt, and blue shoes. She had a pink handbag wrapped around her shoulders and a shiny, seashell necklace around her neck. Her long hair was the color of sand with a yellow ribbon tied into place on the top. Her azure-blue eyes stood out against the rest of her appearances. Her small wings gave a sea-blue tint as she few along.
The mage cocked his head and scratched the side of it. Why did this fairy look familiar? The only fairy he had ever met was Tinker Bell, and she had kicked him in the face before. All because he had laughed at how jealous she got over Peter Pan's attention to Wendy.
"Hi," called a voice. "May I help you?"
Donald and Goofy spun their focus to the other side of the room. Two individuals were gathered over there.
One was a fairy who had long, red-brown hair tied into a long ponytail and brown eyes. She was wearing a blue sleeveless top, an indigo-violet pair of pants with a transparent, blue skirt over them, a green belt with orange petals, indigo shoes, and a green beret. Her wings gave a yellowish glow in the dim sunlight coming into the room. She was hovering before an easel with a large, white canvas. She had an art tray in one hand and a paintbrush in the other.
The other individual — much to Donald's disbelief — was Launchpad. He was posing with a basket of fruit on his head and flexing his muscles like Hercules.
"Gawrsh," Goofy said. He pointed around the room. "Ya made all these paintin's?"
The fairy nodded and smiled. "Yes, I did," she put down her paintbrush and tray and offered her hand. "I'm Bess."
"I'm Goofy," Goofy said, getting a handshake. He slapped Donald on the back. "That there's Donald."
Donald looked between the painting Bess had started of Launchpad, then at the pilot, and then back again. He shook his head. "That doesn't look anything like Launchpad."
Bess shrugged and crossed her arms. Her smile faded. "Every fairy is welcome to have her own opinion," she said.
"May-bee we should help pose, too," Goofy suggested.
Bess smiled again. "Sure!" she gestured for the two to come along. "I'll call this painting, 'Three Talents'."
Goofy shoved Donald beside Launchpad. Then he himself took a spot on the other side of the duck-pilot. Bess scooped up her tray and paintbrush and resumed painting.
Donald had a feeling this was going to be a long afternoon.
Tinker Bell and her friend, the Animal-Talent fairy Fawn, were at the edge of the Autumn Woods. Four brown bunnies, two brown weasels, and a grey marmot were with them. Tinker Bell relaxed, having towed one of the bunnies all the way there from Tinker's Nook using a gadget she had designed after a huge lost thing (it was a fishing pole).
Now, Tinker Bell was amazed at the sight before her eyes. Up ahead, a tree bridge stretched across a half-frozen stream. One side was nice and warm (at least, for Fall weather). The other was covered in ice. No surprise, considering the opposite end of the bridge led directly into the Winter Woods.
"Wow," was all Tinker Bell could say. Here she was at the border between the Fall Forest and the Winter Woods, two of the four seasons in Pixie Hollow.
The bunny beside her whimpered. "Oh, don't be scared, little fellow," Fawn assured the rabbit. "We'll let the weasels go first."
"So, how far do we take the animals in?" Tinker Bell asked.
"Uh, Tink, we don't cross the border," Fawn answered. "We just help the animals cross."
Tinker Bell was astonished. "But I thought Animal Fairies got to cross with the animals."
Fawn shook her head. "Tink, it's freezing over there! Besides, no Warm Fairies are allowed in the Winter Woods, just like Winter Fairies aren't allowed over here."
Tinker Bell cocked her head. "Who made up that rule?"
"I think it was the Lord of Winter," Fawn replied.
Tinker Bell turned to the nearest bunny-rabbit. "Winter has a lord?"
At Fawn's command, the pair of weasels hopped across the bridge and over the border. As they passed through the snow, their fur turned white. Tinker Bell awed at the sight. "Pretty great, huh?" Fawn said. "They get their winter coats to protect them from the cold."
"It's incredible," Tinker bell marveled. She watched as the four bunny-rabbits followed the weasels across the border and into the snowy distance. "Bye-bye!" she waved.
Fawn turned to the marmot. She gasped when she saw the large animal had fallen asleep. "Oh, no. No hibernating yet. You do that in Winter."
Tinker Bell's curious side kicked into gear. She walked halfway across the bridge and reached out and put her arm through the snowy mist. She was amazed at the cool sensation the snow had compared to the warm weather she was accustomed. She glanced over at Fawn. The marmot was not budging.
Now was her chance. With a single leap, Tinker Bell bounded over the remainder of the bridge. She shivered for a few seconds and looked up. She could see the snowflakes descending all around. She wanted to laugh at the sight. She had not seen something full of so much fun for a long time.
Not since she had seen Lizzy's collection and her Fairy House a few summers back with her friend, the one with the spiked, silver hair. She laughed when a huge snowflake landed on her head and broke apart harmlessly.
Then, something strange happened. Tinker Bell felt a slight gust of wind blow around her. She felt something from behind. She looked back and stared in complete surprise.
Her wings were changing color. Not one color. They were shining as brilliantly as the solar storms of the great North and South. The glimmer of them caused her to awe. "My wings are… sparkling?" she said to herself.
In the distance, she could hear the faint laugh of a newborn baby. Now that was new. First, her wings were sparkling. Now, there was the sound of an infant's laugh — possibly their first laugh. Tinker Bell knew all too well fairies and sparrow men were born from the first laughs of newborn children.
Could it mean a new fairy or sparrow man was on the way to Never Land? Why had she not noticed this before?
"Tink? Tink! Tinker Bell!" Fawn's voice broke through the moment. The sparkle and laugh faded from sight and sound alike. Tinker Bell watched as a lasso of green twin wrapped around her waist and yanked her out of the snowy mist.
Tinker Bell shivered with excitement as she landed on the warm side of the bridge. "I told you," Fawn said as she came rushing over. "We're not allowed to cross."
One look at Tinker Bell's wings and Fawn gasped. "Your wings!"
Tinker Bell turned to her. "I know! They were sparkling."
"They're freezing!" Fawn exclaimed. She grabbed Tinker Bell's arm and pulled her along. "We'd better get you to a Healing-Talent Fairy."
"But," Tinker Bell tried to say.
Fawn did not let go. "Come on."
The Winter Woods was more active than Sora had expected. Heartless after Heartless lined the forest and the icy paths. These were very different monster than normal. Aside from the usual Shadow varieties, there were some with bodies made of pure ice. Others had a one or more frozen wings. All possessed the infamous Heartless emblem.
With his Keyblade in hand, Sora slashed, sliced, and clobbered his way through the enemies. Indigo cut her own way across the Heartless coming for her. Tinker Bell scowled and kicked her way into the horde.
"Tinker Bell," Sora had told her. "It's too dangerous!"
The fairy's reddish face said everything. Sora knew his friend's heart had decided, and he forced himself to accept her help, no matter how treacherous it became.
The group had to fight their way down the path away from the lake and up to a junction. When they arrived, Indigo's antennae wavered for a moment. She pointed to the left. "He soared this way," she informed the others.
They all made a left at the three-way intersection and proceeded down the path ahead. Several more Heartless continued to cross their way, so Sora, Indigo, and Tinker Bell fought back.
After a little while, they came upon a large clearing at the base of a large mountain. Sora gazed straight up. The shape of the mount reminded him of pictures he had seen of Mount Everest, the tallest mountain anyone had ever climbed. "Whoa," was all he could say in marvel. "This place is bigger than I imagined."
"Yeah," Tinker Bell nodded. "But that's Never Land from the eyes of a fairy, or in your case, a sparrow man."
Sora had to give a nod. He could only remember a few times where he had been small while exploring a world. In Wonderland, he had drank a bottle of something or other and became the size of a daisy petal. In The Outback, he had discovered the world's vastness was due to his normal size being the size of a mouse.
Now he was wandering across Never Land, and he had not expected to see such a snowy landscape on an otherwise tropical island. Then again, he was in Pixie Hollow — the secret heart of the island of Never Land. In this world within a world, anything seemed possible.
Indigo pointed straight ahead to the base of the mountain. "He is inside there," she told the others.
Sora and Tinker Bell turned their focus to the mountain. An icy-blue pattern decorated the face of the rocky wall from the ground up to about thirty feet (that is in fairy-foot standards). The pattern was decorated with an extra-large snowflake. It seemed to resemble a door-handle.
Sora walked up to the pattern and paused. He could hear voices from the other side. "It must have come from the Warm Side, in one of the baskets," said one of them. "Thanks."
The brown-haired young man could hear the patter of wings heading for the icy-blue pattern. He backed up and raced for a nearby snow-covered rock. Sora ducked behind the stone. Indigo and Tinker Bell hurried over and hid with him.
One side of the pattern opened. Sora was astonished. It was a door. Out flew Sled. As the sparrow man took flight and soared away, the doorway closed behind him. Certain that person had just delivered Tinker Bell's missing book to the Keeper, Sora led the way to the entrance. He pushed with all his might, shoving the right side of the doorway open. Tinker Bell pushed the left side open at the same time. Indigo stepped through via the middle.
Sora stared in astonishment at the sight. The entire room was a giant ice cavern. Stacks of icy books littered the floor. The seventeen-year-old Keyblade wielder was not sure how anyone could possibly sketch words into chunks of ice that were so big.
Tinker Bell was as awestruck as Sora. Her eyes grew as she looked around the icy cavern. The walls were so smooth and super-slick, any attempt to scale them would have ended in defeat.
Indigo stopped just inside the doors. Her antennae stuck straight up and her pupils became larger than Sora or Tinker Bell's had. "I sense this is the correct place," she said at last.
Sora nodded. The room strongly resembled a library, or even a school's storage closet. Maybe this was a warehouse for storing books. He swiftly shoved that idea aside. If that had been the case, why were the entrance doors decorated so ornately? This had to be the Keeper's residence.
Tinker Bell took a step further into the room. Her feet slid on the ice and she shifted down a smooth slope to the heart of the room. Sora stared in complete surprise. He was so startled, he slipped himself and landed onto the floor. As he sat up, he found himself sliding, feet-first, down that same slope.
Seeing this take place, Indigo leapt after them. She attempted to soar through the air, only to receive a sudden reminder her wings were wrapped up within her green coat. She plummeted straight down onto the slope and slid, face-first, across the ice.
They suddenly slid straight down a little slope in the floor. They managed to catch themselves against a far wall, which made Sora feel relieved. All at once, a soft YAWN filled the air. The group turned their focus toward a humungous grey-furred cat Sora realized was really a snow lynx.
"Uh-oh," Indigo said. "Snow lynxes can eat fairies."
"What if he's eaten the Keeper?" Sora wondered aloud.
Tinker Bell did not saw anything. When the animal gave yet another YAWN, her eyes began filling with fear. With a slight shove away from the wall, the little fairy started to slide backwards. Indigo tried to step over to retrieve her, only to get swept up in the same situation. Sora considered this before hurrying after her. He slipped and landed flat upon the floor.
Sora sighed. This was not how he had imagined he would be spending the holiday season. First, King Mickey had interrupted his seventeenth birthday party to reveal how trouble might be brewing. Second, Master Yen Sid had sent him, Donald, Goofy, and Launchpad on this quest. They had learned the Heartless were on the rise and Maleficent was planning something. Even though Master Xehanort and the evil Organization XIII had been silent for a few months, Sora had begun to wonder if there were connections between these current events and Xehanort's future plans.
The three finally ended up alongside a stack of icy books. Tinker Bell caught the stack first and struggled to pull herself to her feet. Sora grabbed a stack beside her and managed to get himself to his feet. Indigo caught the other side of the stack where Sora had landed and scrambled to her feet.
As the three each caught a sigh of relief, they could hear the quick tinkling sound of something cutting into ice not far away. "That's the end of that chapter," came a voice. "Boy, that's a beauty. 'Flora and Fauna of the Fairies'. Put a period there, then we are pretty much done."
The rather gentle voice seized Sora, Tinker Bell, and Indigo's attention. They spun their faces to the far side of the room. Standing upon a pedestal a short distance away was a rather small, old sparrow man sporting white hair that spiked in all directions like the Sun, a huge white mustache, and wearing a dark green vest with dark-grey trouser. A pair of spectacles were on his face. His pointed, clear wings seemed very small for someone of his size and age. He was leaning over a large easel. Tiny shards of ice flew from the easel as he worked. Beside the figure was a long cane.
Tinker Bell stared at the stack of icy books beside the sparrow man. Sora could see why. Situated upon the stack was the bluish Wing-Book. "Wait," the sparrow man said. "I forgot to number the pages. Oh! I'm going to have to start all over on this large book."
Sora shook his head and gave a small smile. If this figure was the Keeper, he sure seemed to be no different than Goofy — let alone Launchpad. If only those two had come along. For that matter, what were they up to back at Tinker's Nook? Hopefully, they were staying out of trouble; Donald would never tolerate a thing like that!
"This guy's the keeper of all your knowledge?" he remarked.
Tinker Bell put a finger to her mouth. Indigo held up her left hand; her fingers were positioned in the shape of an "L".
"Keeper! Keeper!" a voice shouted from the entrance to the cavern. Sora, Indigo, and Tinker Bell tried to remain hidden as much as possible. Sora wanted to see what was going on, so he only half-ducked behind the stack of books. Indigo dove behind a larger stack. Tinker Bell hunkered down close to the floor.
The Keeper looked up from what he was doing. "Yes, what… "
"The most amazing thing happened," the voice echoed. "You'll never believe it."
The Keeper grabbed his cane and hobbled along towards the front doorway. "Okay. I'm coming. I'm coming."
"I've never felt anything like it! My friends didn't believe me, but how could they because it's so…. "
Sora thought the voice sounded very excited. Even more than he had been when he had found himself back on the islands with Donald and Goofy giving him a victory welcome.
"Slow down," the Keeper had to say. "I can only listen so fast."
Sora knew that line. He had heard his Mom say it to him on multiple occasions. Particularly when he had told her he had gotten an A+ on a Math test — the only "A+" he had ever gotten on a test.
"Yesterday," the voice went on. "At the border, my wings. They actually… they lit up."
Sora's mind hit its pause button. He could tell by the voice there was another fairy in the cave with the Keeper. The fact she had just told him her wings had lit up while near the border made him wonder. Could there be a connection between her encounter and Tinker Bell's sparkling wings?
Before he could get his answer, a pink-purplish glow came from within Tinker Bell's coat. Sora and Indigo turned their eyes her way. Tinker Bell rose to her feet and removed her coat. All three of them gazed upon the wings. The colorful lights they were illuminating reminded Sora of what he had heard the Southern Lights looked like.
It was clear this was not something simply such as light reflecting off the snow.
There was a loud gasp. "It's happening again!"
Astounded to hear the voice claiming their wings were sparkling, Sora, Indigo, and Tinker Bell stepped out of their hiding spots and cautiously stepped over to where they could see another fairy talking with the Keeper; like she had claimed, her wings were sparkling — just like Tinker Bell's were now. Without warning, the Keeper spotted the group lurking in the room. He took note of how Tinker Bell's wings were sparkling and exclaimed, "Well, I'll be a yeti's uncle."
The other fairy slowly spun around to face them. Sora was just as speechless as Tinker Bell. The other fairy was clearly from the Winter Woods. Her white hair was the color of snow and somewhat peaked, only very gracefully. She had pale skin, blue eyes, and a light-blue dress crafted from leaves and some frost. Her light-bluish shoes strongly resembled Tinker Bell's own, except for the notable absence of the white pom-poms. Her eyes were as focused as Tinker Bell's. The two fairies slowly flew over and began circling each other in complete wonder and surprise.
"In all my years," the Keeper marveled in amazement.
Sora was so shocked and speechless, all he could do was stare at the two. From the day he had met Tinker Bell aboard the Jolly Roger, the spikey-headed Keyblader had never thought he'd see the small fairy be so curious about anything. One thing was for certain, he knew there had to be a connection between the two.
From some odd reason, the sight also made Sora recall the moment when he had encountered his own Nobody — Roxas — back in the illusionary dream-based version of The World That Never Was. Why was that the case?
Indigo's eyes grew. The spikey, brown-headed young man noticed her reaction and cocked his head. "Something wrong?" he asked.
Indigo hastily shook her head. "No, it is nothing," she said a few seconds later.
Tinker Bell and the other fairy stopped circling and stared at one another. "Your wings," the Winter Fairy said. "They're sparkling."
Tinker Bell awed in approval. "Like yours."
The Keeper was so thrilled he was nearly exasperated. "I've written about the sparkling," he admitted. "But I've never seen the sparkling with my own peepers!"
He wandering off into the next room through an ice doorway. "Follow me!"
Wondering what the Keeper wanted to show, Sora, Indigo, Tinker Bell, and the unusual Winter Fairy followed close behind.
Sora was puzzled. When he and Indigo had followed the two fairies into the nest room, all that could be seen was a gigantic snowflake carved into the design of the floor. The walls extended up into the air, leading into a hidden ceiling where a series of colorful streams of wind were hanging in place. Why would the Keeper lead the group into such a random room? It seemed just like the kind of thing Goofy or Launchpad would have done — not someone with high intelligence… now he was probably starting to think like Donald Duck.
"Now," the Keeper instructed to the others. "Step the footsies on the snowflake."
"C-Can I come along?" Sora asked having remained silent for quite a long while.
Indigo gave a nod. "I wish to join them, too."
The Keeper winked with a smile. "Just don't bump or shove those two," he warned. "We don't want anybody to be falling off."
Sora gave a nod of acknowledgement before stepping onto the snowflake. His mind began wandering… what had the Keeper meant by "falling off"? Was the snowflake going to rise like an elevator or something?
He glanced at Indigo. The angel seemed a little tense being here in this space. He was not sure why. Then again, he had only seen the angel this apprehensive once before. Back when the two of them had confronted Cruella De Vil and Mortimer Mouse at the waterfall. Was there something else she was withholding? Indigo had always seemed to hold back information. Chances were, she might understand everything more than anyone else he knew, only she seldom said anything about whatever knowledge or experiences she had gone through.
Once Tinker Bell and the Winter Fairy were in the middle and Sora and Indigo were safe distance from the edge, the Keeper gently placed his cane onto a certain spot on the icy floor. A slight glow formed at the spot seconds before the entire perimeter of the snowflake started glowing a shade of light-blue.
An awestruck Sora watched in surprise as the snowflake rose into the air just like an elevator. His feelings of perplexity had become a reality. Gazing back down from above, the four on board saw the Keeper point his cane directly up at the ceiling. "Just put your wings into the light," he instructed.
Gazing upward, Sora, Indigo, Tinker Bell, and the Winter Fairy saw how the colorful winds were now a few feet above them. Observing them from so close, Sora could tell they were the Aurora Borealis — just like the ones he had once seen with Riku and Kairi on their island; Riku had explained what they were.
Pointing their wings into the light above, Tinker Bell and the Winter Fairy watched as the tips of their wings touched and gave a brilliant glow. A moment later, a projection formed from bluish-colored pixie dust. It could be seen on the far wall. The shape that had been created strongly resembled a giant clock-tower. A loud DONG filled their ears.
Sora was amazed; it was the same clock-tower where he had sealed the world's Keyhole. Even though Ansem had claimed Never Land possessed two Keyholes, Sora began to wonder if the second one might be shown in this projection.
"The Mainland," Tinker Bell recognized.
The image shifted to a small, newborn baby giving a playful laugh. Out of the infant's laugh came a golden sparkle of light. Sora was surprised; he had learned before how fairies were born of a child's first laugh. Could this be the laugh that had created his friend, Tinker Bell? He noticed Indigo was also focused on the sparkle of light.
The image followed the light as it passed through a pane of glass and split into two smaller lights. The two lights landed onto a dandelion flower. Its seeds were immediately carried away by the wind. Two of the seeds were giving a slight glow. These two were speedily carried by the wind straight towards the second star on the right; Sora realized the seeds were headed directly for the island of Never Land.
The image shifted again to a view of a tree overlooking the Pixie Dust Tree. Sora knew that spot. He had seen it numerous times while the world was asleep and had seen it from a distance during this current visit. As the two seeds approached it, one of them was caught in the tree's branches while the other arrived at the Pixie Dust Tree and was welcomed by the fairies gathering around it.
"Oh no," Tinker Bell sighed, which made Sora wonder why she was getting upset. Did she sense something he did not?
The image showed a second gust of wind taking the seed from the branch and carrying across a small gap in the ground. Sora recognized the gap as the chasm between the Fall Forest and the Winter Woods. When the image changed to show the seed drifting through the snow-covered mountains, Sora, Indigo, and the two fairies watched in amazement as the seed reached a spout pouring pixie dust like a faucet. The seed was covered in the dust before landing upon the snow below.
Sora was in total surprise as the image also showed the same thing happening to the seed at the Pixie Dust Tree. As the two seeds landed, they were each covered in a shower of pixie dust. Two fairies — one with golden hair like Tinker Bell and the other with white hair like the Winter Fairy were the outcome when the seeds transformed.
Now Sora was even more impressed. If what he had just seen was accurate, then two fairies had just been born from the same exact laugh. Having heard about the chances twins could be born in a similar manner, Sora was questioning who the two newborn fairies were.
"Two fairies born of the same laugh," Tinker Bell concluded, unable to believe what she was saying. "So that means…. "
"You're my," the Winter Fairy said, unable to finish her words.
"So," the two said, turning to face one another. "We're… sisters."
Sora was taken aback. If the two fairies were related like they had just assumed, then his friend, Tinker Bell, had a twin sister. All this time… Why hadn't she ever said anything? Was she unaware of such? It sure seemed to be that way.
"Yes!" the Keeper declared. He flew into view and set down upon the snowflake. "And you're wings are identical. That is why they sparkle."
The two fairies at the center of the snowflake were astounded beyond belief. They let their wings touch, only to jump back as the sparkling produced a bright flash of light. "Jingles!" they exclaimed, only to giggle at each other's instant reaction.
"Oh boy," the Keeper sighed. "Maybe you shouldn't do that."
Sora shook his head and smiled. As his hands flew behind his head, the seventeen-year-old Keyblade wielder was feeling glad to be witnessing such a momentous occasion. Not only had Tinker Bell learned why her wings sparkled, but she had also found a lost-long sibling named… who was it?
"I'm Tinker Bell," Tinker Bell nervously introduced herself.
The Winter Fairy was just as anxious. "I'm Periwinkle."
"Tinker Bell and Periwinkle," Sora smirked. "Sounds more like 'Tink' and 'Peri'!"
The two fairies giggled at the brown-haired teenager's "joke". Indigo had to smile. "This is such a lovely point in time," she said.
"So," Tinker Bell began. "You must've been at the border."
"Yeah," Periwinkle admitted. "I was hoping to see the animals cross."
Tinker Bell smiled. "I guess I didn't see you."
Periwinkle giggled. "Me either."
Sora shook his head. He suddenly found himself wondering if this was how he would have reacted had he personally met Roxas when the latter was still a member of Organization XIII.
Indigo's smile started to fade. Sora considered this in a heartbeat. Was this reminding the angel of Violet? He recalled how Violet had claimed to have a sister named "Indigo". When he had found Indigo in the castle's entrance hall, she had admitted to having a sister named "Violet". Maybe that was why she had been so quiet through most of this. Then again, Indigo had not been very talkative during most of their quest. Ever since they had left The Outback, she had grown quieter and more reserved.
At once, Periwinkle glanced down at Tinker Bell's feet and gasped. A confused Tinker Bell inquired, "What?"
Periwinkle reached into a pocket and pulled out two white pom-poms. Tinker Bell gasped in surprise. "I usually just wear them at home," Periwinkle stated, placing the two items upon her shoes.
"Wow," Tinker Bell exclaimed in amazement.
Sora's smile was now complete. He knew, without a doubt, Periwinkle really was Tinker Bell's sister. The two had so much in common. The only question was… how much else?
"Hello," called a voice from down below. "Keeper, are you in?"
All eyes turned towards the Keeper. The older sparrow man gasped. "Yumping yetis, Lord Milori!"
"Yikes," Indigo said in a rather soft voice.
Periwinkle turned to Tinker Bell. "If he sees you, he'll send you back."
"That's not good," Sora said. Having seen the Heartless roaming about these parts, he was sure someone of dark intent was lurking somewhere in the Winter Woods. If Lord Milori sent him, Tinker Bell, and Indigo out of there, the Keyblader would have no chance to search for the cause of the trouble.
"Keeper?" Lord Milori called. "Are you here?"
The Keeper approached the group and had them all huddle together in the middle of the snowflake. "Don't worry," he assured them all. "I'm going to take care of this."
Down below, the lord was walking about the enormous room. "Where are you?"
"Ah," the Keeper raised his voice. "Come back later!"
The lord whirled his head to the elevated snowflake. "Keeper? I need to speak with you. It's important."
The Keeper gazed at Sora, Tinker Bell, and the others. "Whoa, boy. Can't get that one back," he muttered. He clambered to the edge of the platform and started to climb down. "I'll be right back."
Down the Keeper went to meet Lord Milori. Sora crept to the edge of the snowflake before anyone could stop him. From this position, he could see everything happening on the floor far below. Indigo laid down on the frozen surface of the platform and crawled up to the edge. She peered over the side in turn. Periwinkle and Tinker Bell remained where they were.
"I'm right here, Lord Milori," the Keeper said as he landed on the floor.
"Did you receive that wing book?" the lord asked, not wasting time for pleasantries. To Sora, he seemed concerned about something or other. Had he somehow sensed the group's arrival in the Winter Woods? Did he have a "special sense" like Indigo and Violet? He started to wonder if there were strong connections between angels and fairies.
This was no good enough for the Keeper. "You know, once upon a time, you'd stop by just to say 'hello' and 'howdy-do'."
Lord Milori sighed. "I'd fly backwards if I could. Hello."
"Howdy-do?"
"Howdy-do," the lord looked more concerned now. "This book has me worried. What if a Warm Fairy brought it here?"
"Well, that might be nice, then, meeting a Warm Fairy," the Keeper grinned. "Especially one with such good taste in books."
Lord Milori frowned. "It's too cold."
As the lord spoke, the snowflake platform jolted. Sora, Indigo, Tinker Bell, and Periwinkle all held on as they started to descend toward the floor. The Keeper's eyes landed upon the snowflake; he set his cane down on the floor. The platform stopped falling and started to rise again.
Sora released a sigh of relief. "That was close," he murmured to himself. Had the snowflake platform touched down, it might have drawn the attention of Lord Milori. That could have ended with them being caught and, ultimately, in trouble.
"Maybe if they were wearing a coat," the Keeper said. "Or one of them little sweater vests. They're nice."
"I'll remind you," Lord Milori stated in a strict voice. "Crossing the border is forbidden."
"There was a time when it wasn't."
The lord's frown intensified. "The rule is there to keep the fairies safe. That will never change. "If a Warm Fairy comes here, you will send them back."
The Keeper's face appeared to be full of concern. Sora had the feeling he had been trying to persuade Lord Milori to relax the rules for once. Evidently, he had failed. He sighed. "Of course."
Lord Milori nodded. "Thank you," he proceeded to exit the room. As he left, the snowflake platform came down to the floor.
The Keeper turned to the group, a disappointed look on his face. "Well, you heard the Lord Milori. He said you must go back home."
Sora, Indigo, Tinker Bell, and Periwinkle all stepped off the platform. Sora did not have to look at the others to know what they might be feeling. The concept of Tinker Bell being torn away from the sister she had just found was torturous. He knew that feeling. He got separated from his friends, Riku and Kairi, twice.
The first time was when he had helped Donald, Goofy, Riku, and King Mickey seal the Door To Darkness. Kairi had returned to the islands. Sora had informed her he was going to come home with Riku. Of course, his search had taken much longer than he had expected. Over a year had passed before he had come close to finding Riku, only to learn Organization XIII had abducted Kairi.
He had been devastated (to say the least). If not for Donald and Goofy's words of encouragement (mainly Goofy), he was not sure what he would have done.
He stepped forward. "Look, mister, we don't mean to cause trouble," he started to say. He gestured to Tinker Bell and Periwinkle. "But can't they stay longer?"
The Keeper paused in thought. Indigo strolled over to the brown-headed Keyblade wielder. "We should try to find out why there are Heartless in this part of the world," she said.
Sora gave a nod. "Yeah, I was thinking the same thing."
The Keeper smiled. "Of course, the Lord Milori didn't say when you must go back home."
Tinker Bell and Periwinkle were beyond excited. They turned to one another and hugged tightly. The Keeper flew into the next room and returned a moment later with Tinker Bell's coat.
"Now, listen," he said. "It gets colder after the dark, so it's best to get Tinker Bell and her friends home before the first moonlight."
Periwinkle rushed forward and hugged the Keeper. "Thank you, Dewey!" she declared with delight.
Tinker Bell cocked her head. "'Dewey'?"
"Huh?" Sora said. The only one he knew named "Dewey" was one of Donald Duck's nephews. As far as he knew, Dewey was with Huey and Louie back at the Radiant Garden. They were probably still attempting to raise Munny with that shop.
Indigo shook her head and smiled. "It is his true name," she said.
The Keeper, Dewey, smiled. "It's what my friends call me."
As Periwinkle helped Tinker Bell get her coat back on, the latter turned to the Keeper. "Thank you," she said.
"Yeah!" Sora nodded. "Thanks a lot."
"Dewey," the older sparrow man winked.
"Dewey," the young man and the fairy said simultaneously.
Sora and Indigo started to follow Tinker Bell and Periwinkle out of the building. As they walked along, the spikey-haired youth could hear the two fairies up ahead talking.
"So, um, I'm a Frost Fairy," Periwinkle said. "I frost things."
"Oh," Tinker Bell marveled. "I'm a Tinker. I—"
"Tinker things?"
"Yep," Tinker Bell nodded. She twirled around for a second. "I even made this coat."
"Oh, I like it."
"Thanks."
"You're welcome."
Sora heard Dewey chuckle. "Sisters," he said.
"Yes," Indigo looked down. "'Sisters'…. "
Although the angel continued to walk towards the exit with the fairies and him, Sora could tell she was not very happy. He had not seen her so low since they had confronted Cruella De Vil at Crocodile Falls. Maybe his feelings of dread were correct.
Maybe the angel had had another major bad experience. This time, it might have taken place somewhere in this world. Could it explain what he had seen in that book back in the library?
As the group continued along, Sora heard something crunching underneath his shoes. He looked down and spotted a piece of torn paper. The colors, lettering, and designs looking strikingly familiar. He halted for a moment and reached down to scoop it up. Once it was in his grasp, the young man took a few moments to gaze upon the parchment.
His mind stopped. This was not simply a piece of scrap paper that had been left there. It was a missing page from the one and only Winnie-The-Pooh's storybook. It must have drifted into this world some time ago. Chances were it was not that long ago. The world had been fast asleep only a few months before.
He started to wonder when the book's last five pages had fallen out. Without anything to go on, he shrugged and put the torn page into his pocket. He would have to return it to its rightful place once his journey in this world was complete.
Just outside the icy library, Periwinkle stopped walking. "I never asked, but who are your friends?" she asked.
Tinker Bell stopped and turned around. "Oh!"
"I'm Sora," Sora replied.
"My name is Indigo," Indigo answered.
Periwinkle seemed to stare at the angel. For several seconds, Sora had the slight feeling the two had known one another once before. When that time ended, the fairy shrugged and smiled. "Let me show you around," she suggested.
Tinker Bell beamed in delight. "Yeah!"
The group was nearing the middle of the clearing before the mountain. All at once, several strange monsters showed up. Sora gasped. "Heartless!" he declared.
"Not them again," Periwinkle said. She held up her fists. Tinker Bell did the same.
Indigo summoned her Keyblade while Sora did the same. All four of them watched as the icy Soldier Heartless rushed at them. Periwinkle reached out and touched one of the enemies. It instantly turned to ice. Tinker Bell kicked the frozen Heartless; it shattered before vanishing into Darkness. The fairy sisters did this team effort repeatedly as they battled their opponents.
Sora and Indigo found themselves surrounded by the Heartless. They were stuck, back-to-back.
"Now what?" Sora called out.
"I have a plan," Indigo called back. "Please follow my lead."
Although Sora was unsure what to expect, he watched as the angel raised her weapon with her left hand and reached out with her right. "Light!" she shouted.
Sora found himself raising his Keyblade and doing the same, only with his weapon in his right hand. "Power!"
Their weapons suddenly glowed. The two clutched their Keyblades with both hands and pointed the blades at the Heartless. Beams of Light shot out at the enemies. The beams were moving so quickly, the two found themselves spinning around. Still back-to-back, Sora and Indigo watched as the beams eliminated Heartless after Heartless.
Less than two minutes after the creatures had appeared, Sora, Indigo, Tinker Bell, and Periwinkle had to stop to catch a breather. By this point, all of the monsters had been terminated.
"Whew!" Tinker Bell wiped some sweat off her forehead. "Here we are in the Winter Woods, and I'm sweating."
Periwinkle tilted her head. "What's 'sweat'?"
Sora had to shake his head. He could tell the Winter Fairy was not familiar with something that only happened in warm areas. Naturally, he was very well acquainted with sweat. He used to run all over those islands back home. The heat of the noonday Sun, the sand at his feet, and the sound of the waves lapping against the shoreline always made it worthwhile.
Now he was starting to miss hearing those waves. Yes, he had heard waves again back in Passamaquoddy, and even while surfing with Lilo, Stitch, Amemi, and Nani. Yet, this world did not seem to have waves. True, they technically were on the island of Never Land. However, the shores of the main landmass were nowhere in sight. Either Pixie Hollow was located near the center of the island, or the Winter Woods was on the opposite end of the fairy kingdom from the Never Sea.
"You don't want to know what 'sweat' is," Sora said at last. "It's messy."
Indigo gave a nod. She held her nose for a second. "Plus, it is smelly."
Periwinkle and Tinker Bell both giggled. Indigo laughed a little in turn. Sora had to shake his head again. It was nice to see the angel having a laugh. He still wondered what was holding her back from making it a regular basis again. After all, Indigo had proven herself a very likeable angel when Sora's team had found her in the castle. Now, she seemed so solemn.
He figured his mind was going to continue pondering over this for a while yet.
"I want to show you something," Periwinkle said. She flew ahead and signaled for the others.
Tinker Bell, Sora, and Indigo rapidly ran ahead to keep up. They headed down the path through the woods. As they hurried along, more Heartless crossed their way. They had to clear the road to keep moving.
It took a little while, yet they finally reached a large mountain. The side of the mount had been cut into, forming a sheer cliff. Jutting out of the cliff was a long, wooden chute. Golden pixie dust was flowing out of the chute like a spout. At the bottom of the cliff was a frozen pond. The leftover dust landed onto the pond, collecting into a large pool.
"Whoa," Sora's eyes lit up. The sight reminded him of the waterfalls on the Children's Play Island back home.
"So lovely," Indigo admired.
"It's amazing," Periwinkle acknowledged. "The dust travels all the way from the Pixie Dust Tree," she nudged Tinker Bell in the arm. "Kind of like you did."
"Yeah!" Tinker Bell beamed. "I've been on so many adventures. Once I went north to find a lost mirror, and Terence and I barely escaped the pirate ship!"
Periwinkle smiled. "Is he your boyfriend?"
Tinker Bell's eyes wandered. "Well…. It wasn't just me and Terence. There was this fairy named 'Crystal' there. She helped us escape. Oh! And there was this sparrow man, Carlos, too!"
Sora stared at his friend. "Wait! Was there a girl named 'Shelly' there, too?"
Tinker Bell paused in thought. "Yeah! I remember now! Shelly and Terence helped me make the Autumn scepter years ago. I almost forgot about her," she paused. "I wonder what happened to them?"
"You don't see them anymore?" Periwinkle asked.
Tinker Bell shook her head. "No. They just… they left after the Revelry. I don't remember if Shelly was there," she turned to Sora. "How did you know about her?"
Sora sighed. "Shelly's my aunt."
Tinker Bell stared at him for several seconds. Periwinkle was confused. "Your ant is a fairy?" she inquired.
Sora hastily shook his head. "No, no! My aunt is Shelly. She's my Mom's sister," he looked up at the sky. "I didn't know she ever came to this world."
He looked down. "I wish I could find her. My Mom would be so happy to see her again, but I don't know where she is."
Indigo took a deep breath and put her hand on the young man's shoulder. "You shall find her," she said. "Do you know what she looks like?"
Sora shook his head. "I never met her, until I was in the Sleeping Worlds with Riku and Violet. But she was a teenager then. I don't know how she looks now."
Periwinkle's face lit up. "Maybe Dewey knows where she is. We should go ask him."
"Okay," Sora agreed. "But first, let's find out why the Heartless are here."
Tinker Bell nodded in agreement. "I bet Ol' Captain Hook is behind it," she stated. "But I thought he wouldn't be a problem after Roxas took care of him."
"'Roxas'?!" Sora exclaimed. "He was here, too?!"
"Yeah," Tinker Bell responded. "Then I met a girl named Lizzy, and me and Vidia…. "
Sora's ears automatically tuned her out. He could not believe his ears. First his Aunt Shelly. Now Roxas. For all he knew, everyone he had ever known had travelled to Never Land and/or Pixie Hollow at one time or another.
"Let's start with the Heartless," Indigo decided.
Periwinkle looked puzzled. "What's heartless?"
"No, no, no," Sora rushed. "The Heartless are those monsters we keep fighting."
Tinker Bell paused in thought. "If we're gonna get to the bottom of this," she said after a minute. "We'll need something to help us get across the ice."
"Yeah," Periwinkle agreed. "And I have just the thing!"
It did not take too long for the group to scale the side of an icy cliff. At the top, the found Periwinkle's house. The building was smaller than Sora had expected, yet it was still a little bigger than Tinker Bell's home. The shape was that of an old-fashioned top. The frozen walls were so smooth, Sora nearly slipped several times, even though his shoes were not exactly designed for all this slipping and sliding. He had to grab onto a regal-looking chair built of ice. He could see through the open wall at the other end of the house. The vast, snow-covered landscape lay below.
In one corner of the room, Periwinkle opened a drawer in a frozen table. Inside were various, manmade odds and ends. Sora recognized a screw, paperclips, a couple rubber bands, and even a marble. He was sure that, had Donald been there, he would have called it "junk".
Tinker Bell was amazed. "You collect Lost Things, too?"
Periwinkle smiled. "I call them 'Found Things'."
The Winter Fairy dug into the drawer and pulled out six paperclips. "We can use these."
Sora cocked his head. "For what?"
Tinker Bell snickered. "Skates," she said.
Sora gave a nod. He felt like slapping himself in the face. He should have known that was what they were going to make. After all, how else would they be able to cross the frozen lakes, rivers, streams, and ponds of the Winter Woods? Ice was too slippery without them. He was sure about that.
Tinker Bell helped Sora tie the paperclips to the bottom of his shoes. Indigo carefully did the same. When she stepped to her feet, she slid across the room. Periwinkle caught her and helped the angel regain her balance.
"It looks like we shall need to skate outside," Indigo said.
The journey through the snow was a little slower now that Tinker Bell, Sora, and Indigo were wearing paperclip skates. Periwinkle glided along above them, keeping an eye out for trouble. The group followed Periwinkle as she led them through the forest. The further they proceeded into the forest, the more they could see how alive it truly was.
Fairies and sparrow men were gathered on branches, unrolling long blankets on snow on them. Two fairies were busy hovering slowly down from the trees. They reached out and used their magic to pull long icicles down. A few fairies were on another spot of the tree crafting snowflakes by hand. One of them tossed a snowflake into the air and it swung around in the fashion of a boomerang.
Sora was amazed by all the sights and sounds of the woods. The noise of fairies and sparrow men laughing as they worked seemed to fill the air. The scent of fresh snow hung thick all around. He knew that smell. It was the same scent he had always picked up while in Christmas Town.
Before long, the group arrived at a large valley leading deep into the land. Countless ferns and other plants dotted the land. Periwinkle pointed into the valley. "This is the Frost Forest."
Sora, Indigo, and Tinker Bell all gazed down into the valley. Fairies were dashing to and fro. A few sparrow men soared about, hard at work. To the former, the sight reminded him of the hustle and bustle at Tinker's Nook, only covered in snow.
Tinker Bell awed. "Wow."
Periwinkle pointed down into the valley. "That's Gliss," she said.
Sora and the others peered to where the fairy was indicating. They could see a fairy spinning her way around the ferns. She was very slender with pale skin, white hair tied into a small ponytail, ice-blue eyes, and clear wings on her back. She was wearing a blue top with matching pants and shoes.
The fairy smiled with excitement as she approached another fairy lying on a fern. "Come on, Spike," Sora heard the fairy say. "Practice."
The other fairy turned her head. Sora could see she had pale skin, short black hair, brown eyes, and clear wings on her back. Her outfit consisted of a sleeveless and strapless light-blue dress with matching boots. She sighed and extended her foot to the edge of a fern leaf. "Okay, okay. Practicing."
"And that's Spike," Periwinkle said. "She's a bit…. "
Before more could be said, the chunk of snow where Tinker Bell and Indigo were kneeling collapsed. Sora reached out and grabbed the angel before she fell all the way to the ground far below. Periwinkle flew down after Tinker Bell.
Sora and Indigo watched as Periwinkle caught Tinker Bell at the edge of the forest. Seeing what had happened, the two quickly followed. They slid down the hill of snow to the bottom.
Sora, Indigo, Tinker Bell, and Periwinkle rapidly realized they had drawn the attention of Gliss and Spike. "Hi," was all Tinker Bell could say.
"Hiya," Sora waved.
Gliss and Spike both stared in complete astonishment. Spike put her hand on her hip. "Sisters?!" she said.
Sora was mystified. "How'd you know they were?"
"I think it's fantastic!" Gliss declared suddenly. She ran up to Tinker Bell and Periwinkle and threw her arms around them. She continued, talking a mile a minute. Sora could barely understand her. "Wow, you two look exactly alike! I mean, except for your clothes and your hair and Peri's a bit more pale. But your noses are very similar."
Sora had to shake his head. To him, it sounded as though this Winter Fairy was as silly as Goofy. Maybe even more. He was glad Donald was not here. "Okay," he remarked.
"Forget their noses," Spike spoke up. She gestured to Tinker Bell, Sora, and Indigo. "They're Warm Fairies. In Winter!"
Gliss gasped. "You're right," her face brightened. "We got to show them around! Oh, Oh, Oh! Let's take them ice sliding!"
Spike crossed her arms. "Yeah. Great idea. Push the Warm Fairies down a hill of ice."
"Come on, Spike!" Gliss insisted.
Periwinkle turned to Tinker Bell. "You are going to love this!"
"It sounds fun," Tinker Bell admitted. "But we have something else to do."
"Yeah," Sora agreed. He stepped forward. "Have either of you seen where the Heartless are coming from?"
"The what?" Spike asked.
"Oh!" Gliss said. "'Heartless' are those… um… those…. I forget."
Sora had to shake his head. "They're monsters that come out of the Darkness. Have you seen them?"
Spike groaned. "Who hasn't seen them? They're everywhere."
"Where specifically are they coming from?" Indigo inquired.
"Doesn't the Keeper know?" Spike questioned in turn.
Sora sighed. This was getting them nowhere. From all accounts, the Heartless had been in the Winter Woods for a while. It seemed everyone had seen them, yet nobody knew how they had gotten there. Unless this was common for this world?
Sora did not believe that could be the case for the Heartless. Saïx had told him the Heartless ally with whomever is the strongest. At this time, that appeared to be Maleficent and her Council. Whoever was responsible for the Heartless being in this world must have kept their identity a secret.
Deep down, he felt like Spike was too much like Vidia.
"Wait, wait!" Gliss perked up. "I just remembered. There was someone strange on the Northern ridge. She was sitting there on the glacier. Her wings were not frozen and she was not a Winter Fairy," she gasped. "I just remembered something!"
Sora was slightly confused. Someone strange? Did Gliss mean a member of Maleficent's Council had been in this world? It sounded like it was a fairy with wings, only they were not from the Winter Woods. He wondered who it could be. Thistle? Or someone else? "Where's the Northern ridge?" he asked.
"It's on the other side of Snowcap Glade," Periwinkle explained. "At the bottom of the ridge is Winterhall."
"How far is it?"
"Not too far. I can take you there."
"Me, too!" Gliss added.
The enthusiastic Winter Fairy soared away through the forest so fast, a few of the ferns shook in her wake.
"Wait for us!" Periwinkle called. She led the way for Sora, Indigo, and Tinker Bell.
Spike was the last one to follow. "Okay," she sighed, giving in. "Well, wait for me, you guys."
The journey between the Frost Forest and Snowcap Glade was a long one. The cold wind started to blare down on Sora, Tinker Bell, and Indigo. The former two shivered while Indigo seemed unaffected. Periwinkle, Gliss, and Spike also appeared untouched. Sora figured it was due to them being from the Winter Woods. As for Indigo, it was probably something that came with being an angel.
After crossing a frozen stream, the group reached Snowcap Glade. The whole area seemed empty. To the left was a frozen pond. To the right was an old log with snow covering every inch. It was so deep, only the end of the log was sticking out.
Sora shivered. "How much further?" he asked.
"We're almost there," Periwinkle replied.
Spike shrugged. "Too cold for you?"
Sora shook his head. The group pressed on across the glade. On the other side, they came across a high hill. Built into the side of the slope was a pair of doors.
"Winterhall," Spike stated.
Gliss pointed at the doors. "I can hear something!"
Indigo's antennae perked up. "I can sense it. There is music coming from inside."
"Who's in there this time?" Spike grumbled.
"'Who'?" Periwinkle said. "No one's been in there for a long time."
"Fairies like to sneak inside and play," Spike explained. "The organ is a highlight."
Sora strode forward. "Then we're going in."
He marched up to the doorway and pushed it open with all his might. The doors creaked as they moved to the sides. The interior of the cavern was full of long icicles raining from the ceiling. The longest ones dangled along the sides of the room.
On the far side of the room was a series of steps leading up to an icy stage. On the stage was an ornate organ. Someone sat at the instrument and played music from its keys. Each note brought out a colorful effect through the frozen pipes.
That was not all that appeared. With each press of the organ, the music sent pieces of Darkness raining out of the pipes. The clumps of Darkness landed onto the floor, turning into icy Heartless soldiers.
Sora gasped. "So this is where the Heartless are coming from?" He summoned his Keyblade and destroyed the Heartless that were closest to him.
"What are you doing?" came the voice from the organ. Sora froze. He knew that voice. He had heard it once before, way back in Pocahontas's world.
The figure at the organ turned around. There stood a young woman sporting reddish-orange hair, blue eyes, and pinkish lips. Her dress had a dark-green color, a small purple skirt in the middle, and a leaf-like design. Pinkish-purple shoes covered her feet. She also had a purple-colored hairband with a tiny, green vine wrapped around it. There was a golden vine wrapped around her right wrist like a bracelet and she had a strawberry tattoo on her right shoulder. She also had a set of transparent wings that seemed to be shaped like leaves.
Sora's eyes grew so large, it seemed they would pop out of their sockets. "You!"
The young woman frowned at him. "The least you could do is remember my name."
"Thistle!" Tinker Bell declared.
Thistle looked up at the fairy. A smirk formed on her face. "This is where it gets interesting," she said.
"Why are you here?" Tinker Bell asked. "I thought you were in Sunflower Meadow."
Periwinkle turned to her sister. "You know her?"
Tinker Bell gave a nod. "Yeah, Thistle did some mean things to me."
"Like?" Spike urged.
"She convinced everyone I'd lost my talent. She tricked me into hearing a mermaid singing at night. And she made my friends fight with Quarrelweed."
Gliss shuddered. "That's cruel."
Tinker Bell looked straight at Thistle. "I thought we were behind this. What happened?"
"It doesn't matter," Thistle said. She rose from the organ bench. "I have you right where I want you."
"What does that mean?" Indigo interrogated.
"Let's worry about that later," Sora shouted. "Right now, we've got Heartless to deal with!"
"See if you can try," Thistle challenged.
Sora sliced his Keyblade through two more Heartless. Indigo summoned her own Keyblade and joined the fight. Tinker Bell and Periwinkle rushed in and started taking out as many enemies as they could by freezing them in place before shattering them. Gliss and Spike nodded before hurrying in to do the same.
Thistle's smirk turned into a scowl. "You are ruining everything! If it means I have to take you down myself, so be it!"
She leapt off the organ and flew into the air above. "Face the powers of the strongest Darkness!"
Bolts of reddish-green electricity surged from the fairy. Sora, Indigo, and the others scattered to avoid being struck by the flying bolts. Sora ducked behind an icicle. A bolt struck the icicle and sent it crashing onto the floor; the Keyblader barely managed to avoid being hit.
He rose to his feet and watched as Thistle laughed. "You're useless against my power!"
Sora glared at her. He and the others repeatedly dodged falling icicles and flying bolts of energy. At one point, a chunk of ice nearly clobbered Periwinkle until Spike shoved her out of the way. Both fairies successfully avoided getting struck.
Sora was becoming frustrated. How could he possibly take the fairy down? Not only was Thistle's powers unbearable, but she was airborne. He could not use his wings. They could freeze like Tinker Bell's nearly had. What could he do?
His mind suddenly went back to how he had once been able to throw the Keyblade at an enemy and have it come straight back to him. What was that move called again? Struck Rude? Streak Rune? Steak Good? That could not be it.
He froze. Strike Raid! Of course! As the memory returned to him, Sora veered back and lurched forward. He hurled the Keyblade into the air. The weapon went flying into the air and slammed into Thistle's face. It returned to his hand.
Thistle fell to the floor with an audible THUD! She sat up and rubbed the side of her head. Sora skated over on his paperclip skates and pointed his Keyblade at her. "Would you just give up?"
Thistle glowered at him. "I never surrender — especially not to a stupid, naïve Keyblade pest like you!"
Indigo came rushing forward. Thistle reached out behind herself and a dark portal appeared. "Next time, princess," she said as the dark portal consumed her. It vanished a few moments after.
Sora groaned. Thistle had escaped again. He was not sure what that dark fairy was plotting. Only that she kept getting away. He sighed deeply. This part of his quest was going to continue for a while. He wished he knew when this would all be over.
He turned to the others. "So, what does happen when a fairy hears a mermaid singing?"
"It only affects us at night," Tinker Bell indicated.
Gliss waved her hand high. "Oh, Oh! I got this! We—!"
"We turn into bats," Spike finished. She grinned at Gliss.
Gliss looked down, then back up with a smile. "Yes!"
Sora titled his head. "The flying kind of bats?"
Spike rolled her eyes. "What other kind of bats are there?"
Sora put his hands behind his head. "Beats me."
Indigo remained in place. She continued to gaze at the spot where Thistle had been. "Mizrabel…. "
All eyes switched to her. Sora tilted his head. "Who?"
Indigo whirled around. "It is nothing important," she said. Her antennae were quivering a tad.
Sora doubted it was "nothing important". He sometimes felt he could tell when others were hiding something. Having been with the angel for this long, he had started to sense patterns in her behavior towards stuff. It often felt she was leaving off her tales because she was either avoiding reliving a hurtful memory or trying to keep others from something dangerous. Why she did that he would probably never understand.
After all, what was more confusing than a girl keeping secrets? That was how he tended to view life, at least nowadays. He was not sure when he had developed that perspective; it had simply emerged on him. He started to wonder if the Darkness Goofy and Donald had told him about was responsible for it.
That was when Gliss smiled brightly. "Can we go ice sliding on Icy Pass or Chilly Falls now? I can't wait to say, 'Ready, set, slide!'"
The hours had flown by so swiftly, Sora and Indigo had seldom noticed until the Sun had nearly set altogether. Even though nightfall had descended upon the world, Tinker Bell and Periwinkle decided to keep spending time with one another.
That is why the group was now at Periwinkle's House. To ensure everyone could stay warm, Tinker Bell and Sora had constructed a fire. Well, more like Sora had found a few twigs and Tinker Bell had done the rest. Indigo had stepped in to help blow gently on the flames and bring the fire to life.
While Sora and Tinker Bell huddled around the fire, Indigo stayed off to the side a little. All the while, Tinker Bell and Periwinkle took turns asking questions. Each time they found something they had in common, Periwinkle made a mark on the icy wall behind her. At this point, there were 118 marks.
"Um… I know," Tinker Bell said. "Favorite star?"
Periwinkle smiled. "Second star—"
"To the right!" the two fairies declared in unison.
Following a laugh, Periwinkle marked another line on the wall. "Okay. Favorite drink?"
Tinker Bell paused for a mere second. "Hot chamomile tea."
"Iced chamomile tea!" Periwinkle said. She made another mark on the frozen wall.
Sora gazed at the wall. One hundred and twenty marks. All those things Tinker Bell and Periwinkle had in common. His mind went back to Roxas. Would he have had this much in common with his own Nobody? He probably would never know. Then again, maybe he could find out. But how?
"Okay, my turn," Tinker Bell spoke up. "How about favorite bug?"
Periwinkle paused. "'Bug'? It's too cold for bugs over here, but in one of Dewey's books, I read about butterflies."
Indigo smiled. "I like butterflies."
Sora turned to her. "You do?"
Indigo nodded. "Correct. I have always been partial to anything with wings."
"Oh," Tinker Bell rose to her feet. "In Butterfly Cove, there's hundreds of them."
She turned to the opening in the wall and pointed into the distance. "It's in Summer. It's right over," she paused. The farthest she could see was the giant Pixie Dust Tree as a tiny glowing speck in the distance. "Hmm. I guess you can't see it from here."
"No. You can't," Periwinkle admitted. She started to walk up to the edge of her frozen house. "What's it like over there?"
"Warm," Tinker Bell said.
"Sunny," Sora added.
"Lovely," Indigo said. "At least, it is for a while…. "
No one really heard the angel. "And the colors?" Periwinkle went on. "The sounds? All the animals, and the fish. They swim in melted ice, right?"
"Water," Tinker Bell corrected.
"That's 'water'," Sora repeated.
Periwinkle giggled a little. "I wish," she gazed into the distance. "I wish I could go there."
Sora's smile started to fade. His memory jumped back to when he had been in the dreams of this very world. Tinker Bell had been willing to do anything if it meant she could visit the Mainland — even if she had to switch her talent. Whatever the price, she was willing to pay it. Periwinkle's longing to see the rest of Pixie Hollow reminded him of all that.
Tinker Bell gazed at the fire. "Peri?"
"Yeah?" her sister said.
Tinker Bell gestured to the campfire. "I made it warmer over here. Maybe I could make it colder over there."
Periwinkle few up. A look of surprise was evident on her face. "Are you… Are you saying I could cross?"
"Really?" Sora said.
Tinker Bell shrugged a little. "Yeah!"
Periwinkle turned her eyes into the distance. A huge smile formed on her face. She struggled to keep her heart from racing. "Oh, Tink. You could show me your world. I could meet more of your friends," she whirled around. "Wait. Do you think I could see a butterfly?"
Tinker Bell smiled. "There's a pretty good chance."
Periwinkle beamed so brilliantly, Sora had to admit the only other time he had seen such a large smile was on Kairi. That had been when he had returned home with Riku after defeating Xemnas for the last time. At least, at that point in time. Now he had to defeat that guy again, along with Ansem, The Seeker of Darkness, and the rest of Xehanort's Organization XIII.
A loud cracking sound filled the air and stole the group's attention. Sora, Indigo, Tinker Bell, and Periwinkle all shifted their eyes downward. The icy floor was cracking apart. It started with the spot closest to the campfire, and it was spreading up to them inch by inch.
"Uh, Tink?" Periwinkle started to say.
"Uh-oh," Indigo gulped.
The ice beneath them broke free. Down everyone went. Periwinkle took to the air. Indigo, Sora, and Tinker Bell continued to fall. "I can't fly!" Tinker Bell shouted.
"Help!" Sora yelled.
Periwinkle soared down and grabbed Tinker Bell's hand. "Tink! Hold on. Hold on!"
Sora kept plummeting. Seeing this, Indigo knew she had to take action. She threw off her coat and flapped her wings. Her descent slowed. She tucked her legs and arms in and dove after the young man. When she was close, she reached out her arm and seized Sora's arm. Sora's descent slowed, yet kept going.
"Your wings!" the Keyblader declared. "Indigo, they'll freeze!"
"That is not a problem!" Indigo told him. "What matters is getting you down safely."
"I'm slipping!" Tinker Bell shouted.
The ground below came closer and closer into view. Just as it seemed Tinker Bell and Sora were going to crash into the ice and snow, a fast-moving creature appeared and caught them as it ran past. Tinker Bell, Periwinkle, Sora, and Indigo all landed on the animal's back. To Sora's astonishment, it was the snow lynx from the library.
"That's it, Fiona," called Dewey from the lynx's head. "That's it," he turned to the group. "Are you all all right?"
"Yeah," Tinker Bell nodded.
"Yeah," Periwinkle seconded.
Dewey adjusted his spectacles. "Are you sure? Nothing broken? Nothing bruised?"
"No. We're fine," Sora said.
"Correct," Indigo approved.
"This time," Dewey gave a sigh of relief and a sigh of regret. "Lord Milori was right. Crossing the border is just too dangerous."
"What do you mean?" Sora asked.
"What are you saying?" Tinker Bell inquired in turn.
"I'm sorry," Dewey said. "But I'm afraid this isn't going to work out like you hoped. We have to take Tinker Bell and her friends home," he turned to the lynx. "Let's go, Fiona."
Sora saw Tinker Bell and Periwinkle looking down. Neither were smiling or relieved to be in one piece. Sora felt sad for them. 'Well, at least we shouldn't have a Heartless problem here now,' he thought to himself.
The ride to the border was a long, solemn one. No one spoke. No one tried to be silly. All the laughter and chit-chatter had ceased since the fall from the icy cliff. The only noise was the footsteps of the lynx as the animal carried them through the Winter Wonderland. Snowflakes continued to fall, but no one moved.
When they reached the border, the snow lynx stopped. Dewey turned to the group. He sighed deeply. "It's… it's for your own good."
Tinker Bell and Periwinkle looked longingly at one another. Sora knew that look. He had once seen that look in Kairi's eyes as that piece of sandy land had pulled her out of his reach. He had known she was going to be safe back home on the Destiny Islands. Deep down, he had wished he could have gone with her. But he knew he needed to find Riku and King Mickey before he could return home. The thought of returning home to Kairi had kept him going, along with the hope of finding his missing friends.
When the memory of Kairi kissing him on the cheek resurfaced into his mind, Sora hastily knocked it back down. How many more times would he have to do that?!
The lynx bowed her head down. Sora and Indigo carefully clambered down with Tinker Bell. The latter gave the animal a gentle pet on the nose. The snow lynx purred happily.
Indigo put her hand on Sora's shoulder. "Let's return to Tinker's Nook."
Sora sighed. "Yeah…. "
Before following the two, Tinker Bell turned around. She gazed at her sister one more time. Periwinkle flew down to the edge of the border where her sister was standing. The two embraced. Seeing this heartfelt hug, Dewey turned away. "I can't watch, Fiona," he said. He started to shed tears. "I promised myself I wasn't going to do this."
Sora had to grin a little. Dewey — The Keeper OF All Fairy Knowledge — was a kind and gentle sparrow man. He was so gentle, he cried at the sight of two sisters saying goodbye.
Tinker Bell noticed the sparrow man's reaction and smiled. "Okay," she whispered to Periwinkle. "Here's the plan. Meet me here tomorrow."
Periwinkle gave a sigh of relief. "Thank goodness! I thought you were really saying goodbye."
"No!" Tinker Bell said a little louder. "I just met my sister I never knew I had and I'm going to say goodbye forever? Are you kidding? So…. "
Tinker Bell started to whisper to Periwinkle. Sora tilted his head. What was she telling her? He was not certain and was too far away to overhear. After a minute or two, Tinker Bell turned and waved goodbye. Periwinkle did the same. She flew away into the Winter Woods. Dewey followed along with Fiona, the snow lynx.
"What now?" Sora asked.
Tinker Bell turned to the spikey, brown-haired youth. "Let's go back to Tinker's Nook. We need to see Bobble and Clank."
It was late at night when Sora, Indigo, and Tinker Bell returned to Tinker's Nook. The area was so quiet, it made Sora wonder if they were back in the Realm OF Sleep. He spotted the same pulley and bucket system he had seen in the dreams. And it was in the exact same spot as before. Only this time, there was a long chute leading from the top of the nook down to the ground beside it.
Tinker Bell led the way through the area to a small house near the landmarked Workshop. She knocked on the door. "Clank? Bobble?" she called in a soft voice. "Guys?"
There was no answer. Sora crossed his arms. "Are they home?" he asked.
Indigo folded her arms in turn. "I sense something is wrong here," she said. "I sense… a trap."
Sora's eyes grew wide. A trap? Could the two sparrow men be in harm's way inside? He needed to find out — fast! He reached for Tinker Bell. "Wait!" he called.
Tinker Bell had opened the door before Sora could get her attention. It was dark in the house. The fairy took one step. Out of the darkness flew a green net. It ensnared Tinker Bell in an instant. Sora gasped and raced over with Indigo. The angel hurried to get the fairy out of the net while Sora summoned his Keyblade. "Show yourself!" he demanded.
Out of the house marched Clank, a contraption on his back. The moment he saw Tinker Bell trapped in the net, he gave a look of surprise. "Oopsie," he said.
Bobble peeked out from behind him. "Tink! You're back!"
Sora let his Keyblade vanish. "Yes, we're back."
Before the young man could react, Donald and Goofy came running out of the house and landed on him. They hugged him so tightly; they knocked him on his back. Amemi and Launchpad strolled out of the house.
"Gawrsh, Sora," Goofy said. "We was wonderin' when you was comin' back."
Donald nodded. He glowered at Launchpad and Clank.
"Gee," Launchpad added. "Guess my arithmetic is farther off than my crash-landings."
Amemi shook her head and pulled Donald and Goofy off her brother. She crossed her arms. "Did you have fun without me?" she stated.
Sora sighed. "Well, you did miss all the Heartless."
Amemi had to smile. "And you missed some exciting stories about this place."
Bobble and Clank helped Indigo get Tinker Bell untangled. "We'd fly backwards if we could!" Clank apologized. "We thought you were a troll."
Tinker Bell cocked her head. "A troll?"
Bobble turned to Clank. "I knew we shouldn't have used the troll stopper."
"What if it was a troll?" Clank countered. "You'd be saying something different, wouldn't you?"
"That does not matter," Indigo stated. She gestured to the fairy. "She needs your help."
Clank's eyes became big. "Is it about a glacier?"
Tinker Bell's face became a frown. "No. But it's kind of a secret. I don't want everybody to know."
Bobble and Clank were awestruck. Sora could tell they loved secrets as much as Donald and Goofy.
Over the next few minutes, Tinker Bell explained to the group all about Periwinkle and her plan. Now Sora himself was astounded, knowing what Tinker Bell had whispered to her sister.
The Workshop was quite busy, even for this time of night. Using the only light on, Tinker Bell and Bobble were starting to use various items to put something together. Sora, Donald, Goofy, Launchpad, Amemi, and Indigo all watched them hard at work, even though they themselves were helping bring in supplies.
"I'm pretty sure these buttons will work," Tinker Bell said, holding up a pair of red buttons. "But we're going to need more of them."
"Aye," Bobble agreed. "Unless we use a couple of acorn caps."
"Right! Good idea."
"They're sure hard at work," Goofy remarked.
Sora gave a nod as he set down a copper coin full of springs. He must have set it down to hard. The springs went bouncing around like Slinkys dancing in the workshop. It took a few moments for the group to catch them all.
"Whoo!" Bobble wiped his forehead as he caught the second to last spring. "Now where is that Clanky?"
"Oh, yes, I'm right here!" called a voice from outside.
All eyes turned to the entrance of the workshop. Coming inside was Clank alright. The sparrow man was pushing a heavy wheelbarrow full of scrap metallic objects. To Tinker Bell, Bobble, and Sora's team's surprise, he was not alone. A group of fairies and one sparrow man accompanied him.
"I didn't tell everybody," Clank chuckled. He pointed to each of the fairies and the sparrow man. "Just Fawn, Ro, Sil, Dess, Vidia, Rani, Bess, Beck, and Jas."
Sora recognized all except four of the group. He remembered Rosetta, Silvermist, Iridessa, Fawn, and Vidia from the dreams. He also recalled meeting them again at the Clinic when they had gone to check on Tinker Bell. The last three fairies and sparrow man he did not know.
One had long, golden wavy hair and sea-blue eyes. She was draped completely from her shoulder to her ankles in a blue gown and had dark-blue slippers on her feet. A thin, bluish tiara was situated in her hair. Even though she was a fairy, she did not have wings. Clank had called her Rani.
The second fairy possessed long, red-brown hair tied into a long ponytail and brown eyes. She was wearing a blue sleeveless top, an indigo-violet pair of pants with a transparent, blue skirt over them, a green belt with orange petals, indigo shoes, and a green beret. Clank had called her Bess.
The third fairy sported brown hair tied into pigtails and bluish eyes. She was dressed in a green leafy tunic, brown vine belt, brown boots, and green elf-like hat. She was the one Clank had called Beck.
The sparrow man had short, blonde hair and blue eyes. He had a purple shirt under a soot-black vest, dark gray pants, and purple and white tennis shoes. A purple wristband was on his right wrist, and he had a pair of purple sunglasses with golden frames. Sora could tell this was the one Clank had called Jas.
Amemi rushed forward to Rani and gave her a hug. Rani returned the embrace. "What you did, you have the biggest heart of anyone I've ever known," the sandy-haired girl said.
Donald and Goofy sped up to Bess. "Didja get thuh paintin' done?" Goofy asked.
Launchpad removed his flight cap and bowed for Beck. "Always a pleasure to meet a fellow pilot."
Beck laughed. "Like I said, I'm not a 'pilot'. I'm an Animal-Talent Fairy."
Jas walked up to Sora. "Dude, your hair is lit."
Sora tilted his head. "Okay?"
"Hi, Jasper," Bobbled waved.
Sora was taken aback. "Your real name is 'Jasper'?"
Jasper nodded. "Maybe, but everybody calls me 'Jas'. I'm the fairies' sparrow man around here."
Tinker Bell leaned in close to Sora. "He think he's the coolest sparrow man in the hollow, but nobody understands half of what he says."
Sora knew what that was like. Most of the time, he had a hard time understanding half of what Riku told him. At least he could interpret Goofy's words, even if what the knight said did not always make complete sense.
Vidia approached Tinker Bell. "So, there's another you."
Rosetta scowled at the Fast-Flying-Talent Fairy. "Vidia!"
"Yeah," Tinker Bell declared. "I've got a sister."
Rosetta, Silvermist, Iridessa, Fawn, Vidia, Rani, Bess, Beck, and Jasper gasped in astonishment and wonder. "I told you!" Clank announced, his face flooded with excitement.
"Bust my bonnet," Rosetta said.
"Amazing!" Fawn and Beck exclaimed together.
"It's fantastic!" Iridessa said.
Rani wiped some tears out of her eyes. "It's so happy."
Bess flew around and twirled in one spot. "Want me to do your portrait with her?"
"Dude," Jasper snapped his finger. "This is more lit than the garbagy at the Four Seasons Festival two years ago."
Vidia sounded startled. "I can't believe this is happening."
"But how?" Silvermist asked.
"They were born of the same laugh," Sora explained.
Clank turned to Tinker Bell. "Tell them, Tink, what you told me and Bobble."
Donald frowned. "We were there, too!"
No one paid the magician any mind. Tinker Bell headed for the stone table at the center of the space. She checked to make sure she had everyone's attention. Then she began. "Her name's Periwinkle. She's a Frost Fairy, and she's just amazing. I'm making this machine so she can come here and meet you all, and after that we'll go straight to Queen Clarion!"
"Wow!" Beck said.
"I've never had a painting of a Winter Fairy before," Bess sounded excited. "I should do one while she's over here."
Vidia stepped forward. "Um, have you thought this through? 'Hi, Queen Clarion. Meet the Winter Fairy I smuggled over the border'."
Rosetta scowled at Vidia for the second time. "Vidia!"
"Dude," Jasper spoke up. "Hate to bubble it, but she's got a dotted point."
"When the queen learns how Tinker Bell and Periwinkle found each other, and that they're sisters," Sora spoke up. "She'll change Lord Milori's rule."
"Oh," Rosetta smiled. "Of course she will."
"She'd never want you to be apart," Fawn and Beck said together.
Silvermist gave a bright smile. "It's like you found the perfect Lost Thing."
Tinker Bell nodded back. "And I'm never going to lose her."
Fawn scooped up a hammer. "Well, then, let's get to work!"
"Tell us what to do," Beck added.
It was not long before the workshop was full with the sounds of working fairies and sparrow men. To add to the excitement and progress, Launchpad and Goofy set up a small stereo they had somehow managed to smuggle down to the world. Sora wondered if the pair had returned to Herbie and came back while he was in the Winter Woods with Indigo and Tinker Bell.
The music from the stereo contained a rather old song with which Sora was not very familiar. "Faster than a skateboard, bigger than a bike, louder than a DJ scratchin' all night, pedal to the metal, heck'a Lego squeal, you're in the driver seat when you're behind the wheel!"
"I feel so tinkery," Rosetta commented.
The song continued. "Brick by brick, tock by tick, no matter how thin, no matter how thick, Papa told Mama, and Laura told Nick, you can move a mountain if you do it brick by brick!"
At one point, Clank turned to Bobble and declared, "Bobble! Perhaps you and I are brothers! It's possible. We look almost exactly alike."
Donald nearly fainted when he heard this. Goofy and Launchpad started chuckling. Tinker Bell shook her head while the other fairies giggled with Amemi and Indigo.
Jasper frowned and took a step back. "Dude!" he said. "Whoa, man!"
Sora laughed along. He figured some things truly would never change, no matter what happened. He only hoped what Tinker Bell had said would be true. Now that she had found her sister, Periwinkle, she did not ever want to lose her again.
A/N: THERE YOU HAVE IT! CHAPTER 48 HAS COME TO A CLOSE! NOW YOU KNOW THE SECRET - TINKER BELL HAS A SISTER NAMED PERIWINKLE! WHAT A REVELATION!
So, before I go, I have some things to point out.
(1.) Bess IS an Art-Talent Fairy from the Disney Fairies books. She appears with Rani, Beck, and two others in an illustration shown in the end credits of the first Disney Fairies movie, "'Tinker Bell (2008)'".
(2.) I had a LOT of fun putting together those battle sequences in there. My favorite one was the part where Sora and Indigo had to team up to take down the Heartless. A team up such as THAT might play a considerable role at a later date.
(3.) Considering how the movie moves quickly through the scenes with Periwinkle showing Tinker Bell around the Winter Woods, I pretty much had to expand upon what little is shown. I liked including the parts where Sora mentioned Roxas and his Aunt Shelly in particular.
(4.) If you need a reminder of the role Thistle is playing in This Story, you can always look back at Chapter 16. As for what Indigo meant, I cannot state any more on THAT matter.
(5.) Beck is an Animal-Talent Fairy from the Disney Fairies books. Her character is strikingly similar to Fawn. In fact, there's an entire story where the two of them are playing pranks on one another until it gets out-of-hand.
(6.) Jasper [Jas] is based on a friend of mine. If you wish to see him, you can find him on FAIRYABC!
(7.) The song that played on the stereo is "'BRICK BY BRICK'" from "'LEGO Island'", a PC CD-ROM computer game from 1997. It was also the first video game I ever played.
Well, with all that taken care of, I believe it is time to step back and enjoy what I have left of my Spring Break.
So Then, I'll See You Next Time!
