A/N: Warning. Suicide trigger warning.
The explosion rocked the mountain and the aftershock went through all levels of the complex. The grounders let out shouts in fear when rocks came loose from the wall and rolled down from the shockwave.
"That must be the door opening. We should start moving." Bellamy told Echo.
Echo turned and shouted something in Trigedasleng to others. They listened and lined up behind them. The grounders equipped themselves with the metals and sticks they found lying around near the cages. Echo had a makeshift knife in her hand.
Bellamy opened the door and went out first with Echo covering his back. They didn't see anyone in the corridor.
"We should go to the tunnel." He reminded Echo. But he didn't know whom he may face on their way there. Coming with a plan, Bellamy turned to Echo. "Get the strongest ones that can fight to join you. We will go first to the door. Once we are there, we will secure the exit."
Echo nodded and went through the survivors from the prison. Most were weak and unable to stand on their feet, let alone fight. They were willing, but their bodies didn't cooperate with their will.
Echo brought a dozen of strong grounders with her. Bellamy looked at them.
"We'll take half with us and the others will help the groups and cover our backs from here." He told Echo who translated it to the grounders.
Once they were ready, Bellamy and Echo took the lead, looking for any threats. The floor was empty. He couldn't see anyone.
They walked slowly, checking the corners as they walked past the medical labs. They went across the lab where 's dead body laid around. A momentary guilt passed Bellamy for what he did. But Echo spit at the body in anger that reminded him of what the doctor had done to many like him. They walked past the labs to the quarantine area. Bellamy walked all the way through the quarantine zone until he came to the door that was still locked. The backup power had the door locked.
Echo let out a string of curses in Trigedasleng when she saw the red light on the door.
"Maybe this will work." Bellamy said and pulled out the key card he picked from . He inserted it into the card reader and held his breath for it to work. After a few seconds, the reader beeped and the light turned to green. They heard the door lock release.
"It worked." Echo said in wonder. She didn't have hope that it would.
Bellamy grinned at her and pulled the door open.
He heard a loud gasp and someone yelled "Bellamy!" He knew the voice anywhere. He turned quickly to see Octavia rush to him and threw her hands around him. He hugged her just as fiercely as she did. It was very similar to his return back at the camp. Only this time, he was less injured and Octavia looked better.
"Hey O." He said into her neck and she hugged him even harder.
"If you ever leave me again like that, I'll kill you myself." She threatened him half-heartedly. Bellamy chuckled and let her go.
"I don't doubt that." He teased and saw her smile widely.
"Look at you, all warrior like." He said, taking in the way Octavia looked. She wasn't the little girl anymore. She was a grown woman and a warrior from head to toe.
"Yeah. Indra and Lincoln have been training me." She said and turn towards the people she mentioned. They were standing back, letting the Blake siblings greet each other. Now that they were mentioned, they stepped up. Bellamy greeted each of them by clasping their arm in respect.
"It's good to see you alive." Indra greeted him. Lincoln simply nodded.
"Did you rescue the prisoners?" Indra asked. Bellamy turned behind to look at Echo who was standing behind him, away from the grounders in the tunnel.
"We brought a few here. Rest are coming up." He informed Indra. Indra looked at Echo and narrowed her eyes.
"Azgeda?" Indra looked for confirmation from Echo. Echo hesitated before nodding. Indra's expression tightened.
Seeing the tension in the area, Bellamy stepped in. "Echo has been helping me rescue all the prisoners." He told Indra. Indra turned her attention from Echo to Bellamy. Seeing the truth in his face, she nodded in acceptance.
"I'll send my warriors to help with the rescue." She said and signalled her team. They walked inside to look for the prison. Echo went with them to show the way.
"Clarke is coming through the front. We need to find where everyone is, so we can take those who can fight and join the attack." Octavia informed Bellamy. He nodded.
"I don't know all the areas here. But we should start checking the lower levels first and work our way up." He suggested. Others nodded and followed him to the lift on the other end of the floor.

Clarke led the front assault team through the door into Mount Weather. Once they passed the door, the corridor was empty. They assembled inside passed the door, before they run to the end of the corridor.
"Clarke, wait." Murphy called out from behind. Clarke paused.
"Check the corners." He warned. Clarke listened and peeked around. She saw soldiers waiting behind a barricade, armed with assault rifles.
Clarke turned back to Murphy. "Thanks" she said sincerely. Murphy shrugged nonchalantly.
Clarke turned to Lexa who has joined from behind.
"They are ready to ambush us." She warned her. Lexa turned to her people and yelled in Trigedasleng.
The metal shields were brought back again from the back. More grounders now carried it as a wall. They took their place in the corridor before the corner. Clarke waited behind as they took the turn in stride.
As soon as they stepped forward, the corridor exploded with sounds of gunfire. The shield wall stayed in place, waiting until the initial shooting stopped. When the soldiers realized that their bullets weren't doing enough damage to penetrate the wall and they were wasting ammo, they stopped.
"Get the grenades." Someone in the soldiers called out.
That's when the grounders moved. Taking advantage of their distraction, the grounders sprinted with the metal shield in front of them. Caught in surprise, the soldiers took a moment to raise their guns to fire. But it was too late. The grounders were upon them before the soldiers could fire accurately. Those who did get a shot hit the shields and the grounders struck their knives through the gaps in the wall as they ran the barricade.
The soldiers had plastic barriers that didn't hold up to the full-frontal assault by the grounders. The grounders ran up over the barriers onto the soldiers, slashing and stabbing. Cries of pain were louder than the gunfire as the grounders growled and shouted in victory, as they overpowered the soldiers.
Once the soldiers in the barricade are dead, the grounder force called out behind them. Lexa tapped on Clarke's shoulder.
"It's clear. You can move now." She told Clarke.
Clarke stepped forward around the corner and saw the massacre. The walls were covered in blood. All the soldiers in the barricade are dead and their bodies were in angles as they were pushed or discarded. It wasn't a pleasant view to see. Clarke took a moment to compose herself as she walked forward.
The grounders who took lead were staying at another bend in the corridor, waiting for instructions.
Clarke walked past the dead bodies, looking at the dead. Most of those she saw were in soldier gear that she classified as Mount Weather amor. Some were in normal clothes. She found a couple in Ark gear as well. She gasped when she saw the Ark soldiers among the fallen.
Lexa who came with her took in the sight. When she heard Clarke gasp, she looked at what Clarke was seeing. Noticing the difference in gear, Lexa was able to deduce what it meant.
"Are they your people?" Lexa asked for confirmation. Clarke nodded, unable to form any words.
Lexa's face tightened. She knew it was a possibility that the sky people will join the Mount Weather army. But she didn't want to quash Clarke's hope. Facing the reality should wake Clarke up from her delusion, she hoped.
Clarke stepped up to the corner of the bend and peaked further. It was opening up to an open area. She couldn't see anyone there, but that didn't mean they were not waiting. She wanted to avoid any further bloodshed if she can talk her way through.
"Can we negotiate?" She yelled out into the open.
Lexa grabbed Clarke by her arm to pull her back. "What do you think you're doing?" She hissed in anger.
"Avoiding more deaths." Clarke answered her and pulled her arm free. She turned back to the open area.
"I'm Clarke Griffin. I want to negotiate your surrender. You are outnumbered and cornered. Any further bloodshed is pointless. Surrender, and you will be shown mercy." She assured them.
Lexa wanted to object, but Clarke looked at her quickly. "Trust me." She whispered in a lower voice, so only Lexa heard it. Lexa huffed, but nodded to let Clarke lead.
"Clarke?" A familiar voice came from the other side.
"Finn?" Clarke asked in disbelief. She knew Finn was in the mountain with others and according to what Kane told her, he has changed. But she didn't expect him to be part of the front-line attack.
"Yeah. What are you doing here?" Finn asked, sounding closer now.
"I'm here to stop the war. What are you doing here?" She asked in return.
"Protecting my people and eliminating the threat." He said, sounding convinced.
"Only people who needed protection is the grounders from Mount Weather. Do you even know the full story?" She asked, perplexed.
"Grounders who attacked us for no reason? Captured all of you after the attack?" Finn yelled in anger.
"We're not prisoners." Clarke told him. Did Finn still think they were? She wondered to herself.
"How can we trust what you say? You're standing with the grounders. What if you're being blackmailed and forced to say this? What if they brainwashed you?" Finn rambled on.
Clarke rolled her eyes. He hasn't changed. "I'm not being blackmailed or brainwashed. We joined the grounders after they came to rescue us from the attack." She tried to explain.
"I saw our campsite. You were taken after the battle." He argued.
"We left when they came to us. Listen, we can sit down and clarify all this later. First, put down your weapons and surrender." She ordered, getting tired of the argument.
"I'm not going to listen to a little girl who doesn't know what she's talking about." A new voice came from the other side.
Clarke was confused. She didn't know who that was.
"Who's that?" She asked, trying to figure out.
"Charles Pike." The new voice introduced himself.
Clarke remembered that name. "I remember you. You taught Earth skills back in the Ark." She said it out loud.
"Yes. I see my lessons have helped you. Now here's a new lesson. Join us and stand against the invaders." He told Clarke.
Clarke huffed at his ego. "We have been in Earth a lot longer than you. We have seen both sides to know which is right. So, I'd advise you to take my word and surrender. The grounders will not show any mercy if they come and I'm trying to avoid any bloodshed." She warned him.
"I'd listen to her if I were you." Murphy piped in from behind Clarke.
"Murphy?" Finn asked.
"I see you have changed Finn. Switched your obsession, did you?" Murphy mocked Finn.
"I'm doing this for Clarke. She will thank me one day when she realizes it." Finn declared.
Clarke growled in anger. "I know what I'm doing. If you don't surrender, I will shoot you myself." She threatened him. Murphy laughed when Clarke threatened Finn. He found the entire situation hilarious.
It was quiet on the other side. Finn didn't respond to Clarke's threat.
Clarke took a breath to compose herself.
"You are cornered and outmanned. If we wanted to kill you off, we could have shut down the power and let all of you suffocate to death. Your backup generators would run out of fuel and you will die slowly. We came in to take those who are in charge into custody and make sure Mount Weather is not in charge. We are not trying to annihilate everyone." She explained. She hoped that rational argument will prevail.
"We won't be threatened." Pike responded feebly.
"It's not a threat. It's a fact. Don't the parents of us who were sent to Earth first deserve to see their children? We will be the first line that you will kill if you shoot. Do you want that?" Clarke asked.
There was another pause of silence. Clarke took that moment to signal the delinquents to come behind her. Lexa and the rest of the grounders stepped back.
"We're coming in first. If you shoot us, you will be killing your own people." Clarke warned and started to walk forward. Murphy paused for a moment, before he decided to walk by her.
They walked slowly to the open area. As soon as she stepped out, she heard a gunfire. Murphy acted quickly and pulled Clarke aside.
"Don't fire." It was Pike who yelled and Clarke heard a struggle above. She looked up and saw Ark soldier disarming a man in Mount Weather gear.
Clarke balanced herself and nodded her thanks to Murphy. He shrugged his shoulders and helped her steady. Clarke looked forward and saw Pike and Finn standing there with other Ark soldiers.
"Drop your weapons and I guarantee that you won't be killed." She assured them.
"How can you make that promise?" Pike demanded to know.
"The commander listens to me. There will be retribution for the crimes against the grounders, but I can make sure that you won't be killed. That's the best I can do. It's better than the deaths of everyone in the mountain." Clarke offered.
Pike wasn't sure what to do. He felt that what Clarke was offering is unfair. But this will guarantee that the families of Mount Weather and Ark survivors will survive the attack. He had no choice but to accept.
He dropped his gun on the floor. Seeing him do it, others followed him. Finn was one of the last to do it, after he looked at Clarke in disappointment and anger. She ignored him as she took in the situation.
"Everyone should line up here in the corner." Clarke said, pointing to a corner far away from the corridor and away from the weapons. They all did as she said. Once she was satisfied that it was safe, she signalled for the grounders to come up. The shield wall came first, followed by Lexa standing behind them.
"Mount Weather has fallen." Clarke declared and showed the surrendered prisoners to Lexa.
"Guard them." Lexa commanded to the grounders behind her. They took position near the soldiers, mountain and ark alike, to make sure no one acts violently.
"Let's find the people in charge." Lexa said and walked forward with Clarke.

Seeing the situation in the entrance floor in their security monitors, President Dante and Cage realized they have lost control of the mountain. They had only a handful of soldiers left between the outsiders and the Oval office. With the Ark soldiers surrendering, they lost their main defence force.
"We need to leave now." Cage told his father.
President Dante looked conflicted. His family has been in charge of Mount Weather since they moved in during the bombs that destroyed Earth. And now it has fallen in the hands of savages.
Cage pulled his father's arm and took him to the common area in the Oval office room where the others were at.
"The grounders have breached the doors. We're leaving the mountain." He announced to others.
Others stood up in panic, looking at Chancellor Jaha for advice.
"What about the rest of our people?" Jaha asked, concerned.
"We can't take them all. We just have to hope that grounders won't kill them all and come back to rescue them." Cage answered.
Jaha didn't look convinced. They had no means to return back and no reinforcements to fight back. They are defeated. He understood that. The least he could do is stay with them on defeat.
"I'm staying." He told everyone. He turned to the council members. "They will need someone in charge. I won't abandon our people in time of need." He told them.
Others nodded. They understood what Jaha is trying to do. He's putting himself at risk, so the grounders will blame him as the leader when no one else is found and not his people.
Abby put her hand on his arm. Jaha turned to her.
"You should go Abby. For the sake of your daughter." He told her. Abby nodded. She needed to get out. If the grounders were here, she may be able to find her daughter outside.
Cage pulled out his walkie. "Emerson, come in."
The walkie buzzed for a moment. "Emerson here sir." A voice came over.
"The base has fallen. Grounders have breached." Cage informed his trusted soldier.
"We will fight back sir. Over." Emerson vowed.
"Let others do that. I need you to escort us out." He ordered. He wanted protection, in case they run into any grounders on their way outside.
"I'll be there in a few minutes sir. Over and out." Emerson said and cut off the communication.
Cage turned to others. "We'll leave once he comes to escort us outside." He told others who nodded in response.

Octavia, Bellamy, Indra and Lincoln were searching through the floors for anyone resisting. They just reached the fifth floor after clearing level three and four.
Once they passed the lift area, they ran into the first two guards walking the corridor.
Bellamy tried to aim his gun at them. He saw them unbuckling their gun holster. Before he could shoot, he heard a loud battle cry and turned to see Octavia in motion unsheathe her sword and threw it straight at one of the guards, hitting him straight in the heart. He fell to the floor dead. The other panicked and struggled with his holster. Before he could pull out the gun, Octavia slid onto the floor and kick him on his leg to knock him to the ground. As he struggled to get back up, she pulled out her sword from the dead guard and swung it upwards, slitting the other guard by his throat.
Bellamy stood frozen, looking at his sister. The sister whom he has been protecting all his life. She looked every bit a grounder from her makeup to the blood spilled over her. And from her expression, he could tell that she was not afraid. She is finally being herself. He was seeing the Octavia he refused to see before. The free warrior spirit in her, fully unleashed.
He put his gun in the holster and walked up to her.
"Are you alright?" He asked in concern. He knew the guards didn't touch her. But the big brother in him is always worried about her.
Octavia grinned at him. "I'm fine big brother." She assured him.
"Let's keep moving." Indra instructed and they moved forward.

Emerson guided the group through the corridors. They were in level six, trying to get to the exit door that leads them outside.
"Wait!" Abby exclaimed. Everyone stopped. President Dante and Cage looked at her.
"We need to get Kane." She said suddenly.
"What?" Cage asked, not understanding.
"We need to get Kane. We need him. He was second in charge after Jaha. He will know how to make a deal with the grounders to help our people." She stated. She didn't think she could leave him behind.
"That's impossible." Cage shouted in frustration. President Dante spoke more softly. "We don't have time Mrs. Griffin."
"We need to rescue him too." Abby stood her ground. She was not about to let her other friend die in the hands of the grounders.
President Dante and Cage exchanged a look.
"Take her. Be quick about it." President Dante ordered. Cage nodded and came to Abby.
"Let's go. We're close." He said and took Abby by her arm, not too politely.
"But sir…" Emerson protested.
"Don't worry Emerson. We should be back in a moment." Cage said over his shoulder as he walked forward in the direction they came with Abby.
Abby thought that she was being led towards the lift. Instead, she was taken to one of the rooms in the same level. Cage stopped in front of it and pulled out his key card.
"You wanted to know where Kane was?" He asked and opened the door.
"Here he is." And he pushed Abby inside.
Abby stumbled on her feet before she balanced herself. She looked forward and blanched at the sight.
Kane was in the middle of the bed, bandaged up from the multiple bone marrow extractions. He looked pale and weak, almost dead.
"We extracted his bone marrow to treat ourselves." Cage confessed. He didn't see the point in pretending anymore.
Abby felt like she was going to throw up. Seeing firsthand what had happened to someone she cared about, because of her idea of a cure was too much for her.
"Why?" She hoarsely asked.
"Why? Because we could. We needed bone marrow. He had it." Cage laughed at the ridiculous question.
He threw the bottle of pills he found in the room towards Abby. It fell on the bed where she was standing next to.
"We don't have time for your emotional outburst. Take a few and come with us. Or stay here with your boyfriend and die. It's your choice." Cage stated and walked out the door.
Abby took the pill bottle with her shaking hands. She intended to numb the feelings she was getting, so she can escape and find her daughter. But seeing Kane in front of her and being the reason for it overwhelmed her. Next thing she knew, she had taken a handful of pills from the bottle and put it inside her mouth.
Within a minute, everything went numb. The pain and guilt she was feeling went away. Then everything went away. She felt like the ground was calling to her and she felt something hit her on the side. But she couldn't tell what it was. Everything went black.

Clarke and Lexa reached level six in their journey through the mountain. They found the other grounder prisoners on level three where Lexa left her entourage to help with the evacuation. With less soldiers around, they didn't need the force they had to protect them.
Still, a few grounders followed Lexa to make sure she is protected. Gustus had made them promise that she will be guarded at all times. Lexa didn't show how touched she was at the pre-planning Gustus made to protect her. But Clarke could tell, it affected her.
They reached level five where they found the civilians. The Ark survivors were surprised to see Clarke standing next to the grounder commander who was as intimidating as they were told. Clarke assured them that they were safe from harm and to remain in their quarters.
They cleared the level and moved down. They only had two levels to clear.
They walked by the common area when they came to a corridor with closed rooms. They checked every corner as they went, to avoid any surprises from behind.
"Clarke!" Lexa exclaimed, standing in front of a room. Clarke hearing the urgency in the voice went to her quickly.
What she saw made her freeze in her steps.
"Mom?" Clarke whispered in fear.
Hearing Clarke call the crumpled woman on the floor as mom, Lexa sprung to action. She moved quickly to pull the woman up from the ground.
Clarke, shaking from her shock moved next to Lexa and checked Abby's pulse.
"Pulse is weak." She told Lexa. At least it meant she's not dead.
"It may be too late." Lexa stated. Clarke looked at her confused, to see Lexa hold up an empty bottle in her hand.
Clarke could tell what it was from the label in the bottle. Pain medication. And seeing the bottle empty could mean only one thing.
"We need to get it out of her." Clarke said and started turning Abby around to her side.
"Is she breathing?" Lexa asked. Clarke checked and she could feel shallow breaths coming out of Abby.
"I need something to make her throw up what she took." Clarke said desperately. Lexa stood up and searched the room.
"Would this do?" Lexa held up a bottle of chemical up in the air. Clarke looked at it.
"Yeah." She nodded. Lexa brought it to her and Clarke accepted it.
"Hold her down." She instructed Lexa and placed Abby in her back. She forced her mouth open and started pouring the liquid into her mouth.
Abby choked on the liquid and coughed.
"Come on mom. Don't fight it." Clarke said desperately. She kept forcing the liquid into her.
When Abby drank enough liquid, it induced her to vomit. When Clarke saw the sign of her about to throw up, she turned Abby to her side and let her hurl. She saw the pills come out with the vomit. Abby started to regain consciousness.
"Mom, can you hear me?" Clarke called out to her.
Abby's eyes were unfocused. She was looking around, trying to get her surroundings. After her eyes looked everywhere, it settled on Clarke's face.
"C… Clarke?" She said hoarsely.
"It's me, mom. You're ok. You're safe." Clarke spoke softly to her mother.
Lexa stood up, now that Clarke's mother is ok. Clarke looked at Lexa.
"Can you free him?" She asked Lexa, pointing to Kane on the bed. Lexa went to the bed and freed the restraints.
"Where are the rest? Where's the Mountain men?" Lexa asked Abby, when she saw Abby getting more conscious.
"Jaha is in the office downstairs. Rest were using an exit in this floor to get topside." She answered Lexa, straining to speak.
Lexa looked alarmed. She didn't want to let them escape. She looked at Clarke and Clarke understood that Lexa wanted to leave.
"Go." She gave her permission. Lexa nodded and left with her guards.

Emerson led the President and his son with others to the exit. They were getting close to their destination and Emerson had two guards securing their exit until they reached there.
They were around the corner when they heard yelling in front of them. Emerson hurried forward and saw the guards he had guarding their exit get killed by a young girl. She was a grounder and she killed his own people. Emerson got enraged when he saw that. He raised his gun and fired at her.
Octavia was turning from her latest kill when she saw the guard in the corner of her eyesight. She saw him raising his gun and her instinct warned her of the danger. In her fluid motion, she swung around, taking cover behind the body that was falling as the bullets hit the wall behind where she was standing.
Lincoln saw everything happen in slow motion. He was proud, watching Octavia go to work on the soldiers they run across. He prefers to avoid unnecessary killings, but he has no qualms about killing the soldiers from the mountain. In his eyes, everyone in the mountain is guilty with blood of his brothers and sisters in their hands.
He was admiring Octavia's latest assault when he saw the other guard came around the corner, out of Octavia's view. He saw the guard raise his gun. Lincoln started running toward the guard when he saw him fire his gun. He froze a moment to watch Octavia escape the burst of bullets. Once he was able to breathe, he started moving again. Lincoln saw the guard take notice of him and turn towards him. Lincoln couldn't change his momentum towards the guard as he rushed him.
Bellamy also watched Emerson appear around the corner and shoot at Octavia. He stepped forward to shoot Emerson, but he saw Lincoln rush forward. He was concerned of hitting Lincoln in his crossfire, so he started running along.
When he saw Emerson aim at Lincoln and Lincoln was running fast to turn, he knew Lincoln was going to get hit directly. His mind imagined what could happen if it does. At close range, the bullets would kill Lincoln, and his happy sister will be devastated. He couldn't imagine the man who has protected him many times in the past die in front of him. He couldn't watch it happen and do nothing.
Bellamy changed his direction from Emerson toward Lincoln. He accelerated faster and crashed right into Lincoln with full force. He heard a thump when he crashed into Lincoln as he pushed him toward the wall. A sharp pain went through his body and he felt more pain in his back shoulder and his back. He cried out in pain.
Octavia, having recovered from falling behind took advantage of Emerson aiming at Lincoln, ran towards him. Emerson didn't have enough time to shoot at Octavia. She swung her sword in one fluid motion, cutting Emerson's hands by the wrist. Emerson cried out in pain as his hands bled from losing his wrists. He fell down in shock and blood loss.
Cage raised a gun in his hand which got knocked down before he could take aim by Indra who had reached the group. Cage was hit in the face by Indra and he fell to the ground, his nose bleeding. President Dante raised his hands in surrender, knowing they were caught. Lexa came from behind to surround them.
Octavia's loud cry shook everyone from their celebratory mood. Indra turned and saw Octavia cradling Bellamy's head on her lap. Her hands were bloody. Lincoln looked distraught on the floor, with his back against the wall. Indra moved closer to see what happened.
"What happened?" A voice from behind had the people around Bellamy look in the direction. They saw Clarke standing there, taking in the scene. Seeing the person lying in the middle of the group, her eyes widened.
"Bellamy?" She gasped and rushed to his side. Octavia made some room to let Clarke in. Clarke quickly turn Bellamy to his side and checked the injury.
"He has two bullets inside. There's no exit wound." She spoke out loud.
She looked around frantically. The corridor is not the easiest place to operate. She remembered the medical labs in level three.
"Help me carry him." She asked Lincoln. Lincoln quickly nodded and got to his feet. He held Bellamy's upper body and Indra took his lower body. Octavia hovered close, but didn't block their way. Clarke went in the front, rushing toward the lift. She waited for the lift to arrive on their floor.
Noticing Lexa in the corridor, she turned to her. "Can you get my mother? Tell her to come to the med labs." She asked. Lexa nodded and left quickly.
When lift arrived, they walked in and Clarke pushed level three frantically, hoping it will speed it up. The lift moved up to level three.
Once it opened, Clarke moved to the closest lab she came across. There were still some grounders on the way, but taking her appearance and expression, they stepped out of her way. Clarke walked in and prepared the bed. She had it ready when Lincoln and Indra walked in with Bellamy still between them. They placed him on the bed on his stomach.
"Get me some water and towels." She instructed to those around her. Octavia left quickly to find the items.
Clarke picked up all the items she needed to operate. She set the surgical equipment in a tray to prepare it for the operation.
Once she was done, she walked to the top of the bed where his head was tilted toward her. He looked older, aged and tired. But he is still the same Bellamy to her.
"Please hold on. Fight it." She begged. "I can't lose you." She cried softly.
"Clarke?" A shaky voice at the entrance of the lab caught her attention. Clarke looked to see her mother standing there, taking the scene.
"He's shot twice in the back. Bullets are still inside. We need to take it out." She informed Abby.
Abby came in to stand on the other side of the bed.
"Clarke… I'm not sure." Abby said hesitantly.
"Mom." Clarke called sternly, her voice steady and strong. She waited for Abby to look at her. "I need you to focus now. I need your help. I can't do this." She said, hoping Abby was able to see her desperation.
Abby stared at the daughter she has been desperate to find for a while now. The daughter she threw into the Sky box to keep her secret. The daughter she has been disconnected with, since she landed in Earth and found out the truth. Her daughter hasn't asked for her help in a long time. She couldn't fail her now.
"Okay." Abby said, still unsure but willing to try. She hoped her medical experience will help her steady her hand. Her hand was itching for the pills, but she clenched her hands to steady them.
Octavia brought the towels and the water. Clarke took the items and handed over the equipment tray to Abby. Octavia took a step back and let the Griffins get to work.
The lab had a lot of observers. Octavia held onto Lincoln tightly as she watched her brother who had passed out in the bed. Lincoln held her close, for both his and her comfort. Indra stood stoically watching the scene unfold. Lexa had left with the other grounders, taking the prisoners back. She informed others that she will take Chancellor Jaha with her to the top level and wait for Clarke to join her.
It took a while for Abby and Clarke to find the bullets inside Bellamy. There was a lot of blood spilled and the towels were getting red. They heard a clunk, followed by another on the tray when Abby dropped the bullets she picked up.
"Bullets didn't hit any artery or organs. There's no bleeding I can see." Abby said in doctor mode.
"Can we close him?" Clarke asked her mother. Abby nodded and Clarke let out a sigh of relief.
They both work to stitch him up. Once they were done, Abby stepped back. Clarke leaned in to kiss Bellamy in the cheek, before stepping back. Abby observed her daughter wipe her bloody hands in the water and dried it in the towels. She turned towards Octavia.
"We got the bullets out. But he lost a lot of blood. He needs bed rest, but he should be out of danger." She informed Octavia.
Octavia let out a cry of joy before leaping forward, throwing her hands around Clarke.
"Thank you, Thank you." Octavia kept repeating in joy. Indra and Lincoln smiled, happy to hear the good news.
"I'm going to go check on Kane." Abby told Clarke. Clarke stepped forward and hugged her mother.
"Thank you." She said earnestly.
Abby left the lab, uncomfortable and ashamed to face her daughter. She wanted to retreat back to the room with Kane and see what she can do to help him.
"Lexa wanted you on the top floor when you are done here." Indra informed Clarke.
"I can't leave him." Clarke protested. She didn't want to leave until Bellamy was better and awake.
"I'll take care of him Clarke." Octavia assured her. "You need to be there to deal with the prisoners. You know what Lexa will do if you're not there." Octavia reminded her.
Clarke knew Octavia was right. She nodded and reluctantly left the lab to take the lift back upstairs.
A/N: Long chapter. I wanted to conclude the attack in one chapter. Didn't want to leave it in a cliff hanger. Only one more to go. The aftermath and the epilogue.
