I entered my classroom the next day for team selections, and I got the reaction I wanted. Several of my classmates did a double take. I'd traded my everyday attire for what I had chosen as my 'ninja style' I had a high collar sleeveless tank top, in purple, the collar of which extended into my Hatake mask. Simple black cargo pants that tapered off at just below my knees, easy access to hold additional small weapons and tags. Fingerless gloves that matched my top. Black bandages wrapped from the soles of my feet to where my pants ended. I'd never gotten used to wearing shoes around here, made too much noise to move silently.

My forehead protector idea I completely stole from Alice's memories of Lee. It was attached to a purple cloth belt, but the metal sat just off to my left hip.

"Nana-chan!"

I smiled, speak of the devil. Lee bounded down, his forehead protector currently in the gap of his bangs. He was practically bouncing. "Did you see Nana-chan? I passed!"

I threw my arm over his shoulder and we headed toward our desks. Ryu trotting happily beside me with purple collar bandanna, with the leaf symbol sewn on it. "I told you, you could. I'll bet you will be one of our year's best ninja." We sat down, Ryu curled underneath my desk.

Completely ignoring the disbelieving mutters around the room, I could practically see the stars in Lee's eyes. "I will not let you down my friend!"

As our sensei enters and barked for everyone too get to there seats I glanced around, mentally cataloging who had all passed. Alice's memories only knew about Lee's team but there where enough students who had passed for at least as twelve teams. I could easily see myself on any of them honestly. We had rotated sparring partners, and I'd changed who I worked with on projects. To get a general feel for working with others, details could be refined as our team worked together, that is if we passed our sensei test.

Sensei's voice broke through my inner monologue, "Team 2, Rock Lee, Tenten, and Neji Hyuga your sensei will be Might Guy."

I breathed a quiet sigh of relief, even as I high fived Lee as he stood, awed, as he followed after his idol. I didn't really care who I ended up with on my team, but I'd have been heartbroken if I had somehow messed up Lee's team.

"Team 6, Inori Yamanaka, Nanako Hatake, and Kaito Uchiha." I turned to look at the two boys. 'well Alice, your story certainly has changed'

Stopping the Uchiha massacre was impossible, I had come to Konoha only a three years before it was fated to occur. I was 9 at the time, I was under no illusions that I could have stopped it. However that didn't mean I couldn't minimize the fallout. So I had called in a favor from Danuja.

Alpha Tadaaki would have been hard to convince. He was very fond of me but getting involved in the affairs of humans was one of his least favorite things. His mate Danuja, however was an different matter. After Kakashi had left on an extended mission I had sent Ryu with a request for her to come. I had explained Alice's memories to the pack before and they had never questioned me on it. Loyalty to the pack was absolute, and I was pack to them. I explained what I could remember from Alice's memories about the massacre, she was reluctant to help until I mentioned all the young children who would be killed and Danuja had gone silent. The dogs had lost pups to attackers before, Danuja and Tadaaki had lost two of their own girls and the pain was always fresh.

The plan had been simple, well from my perspective anyway. Danuja had decided the best way for me to have plausible deniability was to know as few details as possible. From what I understood Danuja had made some kind of deal with the Otter summons, who also tended to be extremely protective of their young. And it didn't hurt that they generally were more favorable to humans than some other species of summons. The dogs had set up a perimeter in the shadows around the Uchiha district and the otters had gone in at the first flared chakra. The otters started in the surrounding houses, the smaller ones reverse summoning sleeping Uchiha to safety, the larger doing their best to defend. Unfortunately Itachi and Tobi were stronger than I gave them credit for and still managed to take many of the clan out. The dogs had done quite a bit of damage to Tobi, or so I'd heard. And he and Itachi had been forced to flee. Sasuke had confronted his brother but one of the Otters had managed to jump from a nearby rooftop and reverse summon him before his brother could put him in the Tsukuyomi.

The otters had brought the ones they had saved back to Hokage Tower, the dogs having wanted no ties of their involvement spoken of so Nanako would be under suspicion. They had managed to save about 30 people. Tobi had still managed to kill over 200, and of the ones saved only 10 where adults, the rest were all kids. So the Uchiha were still devastated, but Sasuke wasn't alone, Itachi had still killed his parents but he wasn't the last Uchiha, and not having been mentally torched he leaned on his friends and classmates more. He was still a stoic little grump of a duckling but less of an asshole that Alice's memories.

"Your sensei will be Kegawa Inuzuka." Sensei's voice brought me back to the present. Inori and Kaito stood and I followed. We filed down to where out new sensei was waiting, arms crossed, he hair was the typical Inuzuka brown but it was straight and her forehead protector was used as a headband. He brown eyes shone mischievously as she stroked a large Yellow Ninkin.

"Alright Pups, follow me." she led us out to a nearby meadow and we all sat crossed legged before her. "Alright kiddo's lets start off with introductions, I've been told your all observant so we are going to be introducing each other to see how well you payed attention to each other over the years of school. Anything that is missed we will add."

The three of us shared a look and we grinned. We'd done a similar exercise in our communications class, so this shouldn't be hard.

"Alright Kaito-kun how about you introduce Nanako-chan."

Kaito grinned, he was very expressive for an Uchiha. He looked like an Uchiha; dark hair, equally dark eyes. He wore his forehead protector sewn into a green bandanna, honestly the style reminded me of Genma from Alice's memories, that and his face was absolutely covered in freckles. "Alright Kegawa-sensei! Nanako Hatake, age 13. shes proficient in Ninjutsu, and excels at Taijutsu. She can detect and dispel Genjutsu but has never been very good at casting it. She likes; cooking, if the treats she brings into class are any indication, spending time with her friends. She likes training with her Onii-san and jasmine tea. She dislikes those who enjoy hurting others, and sake."

Kegawa-sensei blinked and raised an eyebrow. "Sake?"

I shrugged. "Alcohol is bitter to me, cooking with it brings a better flavor."

Sensei shook her head before turning to her partner, "Kids these days, can you believe that Kokai? Dislikes sake."

Kokai huffed amused, "Just because you are an alcoholic doesn't mean everyone his Kega-chan."

Sensei grumbled under her breath before turning back to me. "Anything incorrect or that Kaito-kun missed Nanako?"

I shook my head, "No all his information is accurate. Other than I would like to add that this is my partner Ryu. And my dream for the future is to be strong enough to take on anyone who would threaten my family. Well done Kaito-kun." Ryu puffed up his chest proudly and I giggled.

Sensei clapped once. "Alright then Nanako-chan how about you introduce Inori-kun"

I turned to look at the Yamanaka. He had the pupilless eyes, the blond hair. He was slightly tanner than his clan-mates and his hair was pulled back into a short ponytail, but small curls fell from it making me wonder what it would look like down. He raised an eyebrow at me.

"Inori Yamanaka, Age 12. Excels in his Genjutsu and his clan techniques, decent at Ninjutsu. He's weakness is in Taijutsu. He likes reading, especially adventure/romance genre. He enjoys gardening with his Okaa-san and theater. His dislikes include asparagus and his fangirl horde from the younger grades, personally I think they are obsessed about his blonde curls. And if I remember correctly his dream for the future is to get strong enough to end up in other village's bingo books."

At Sensei's snicker, Inori blushed. "Not funny sensei, those fangirls are viscous than any more enemy ninja could be." he shuddered his fingers rubbing at the forehead protector he head around his bicep.

At Sensei's encouragement Inori turned to look at Kaito. "Kaito Uchiha, age 12. Excels in Genjutsu and Taijutsu, but his weakness in Ninjutsu stems from an injury he got when he was 8. he likes chocolate, reading mysteries, and spending time with his Imouto. He dislikes excessive force and injustice. He's dream is to overcome his weaknesses become the leader of the Konoha Police force."

Kaito nodded. Kegawa-sensei grinned, all teeth and started some speech about how hard we worked but I sent a sidelong look at my teammates and flashed some hand signals at them.

"Excuse us Kegawa-sensei." I interrupted. "but we didn't get to introduce you."

she blinked and gestured.

"Kegawa Inuzuka, age 27. known in the bingo books as 'the woman of a thousand faces'."

Kaito picked up where I left off. "Well balanced in all ninja arts but excels in Ninkin partner techniques. Her Jonin specialization is infiltration. Her chakra nature is earth."

"She's well known around the village for her love of Alcohol, but never on duty. And her partner Kokai is one of the only yellow Ninkin in the village." Inori supplies.

I bared my teeth in a grin. "And Nii-san says she likes snow, hot chocolate, and games of skill. As well as the icha icha paridise books."

A growl reverberated out from Kegawa-sensei and Kokai snickered. "Your Onisan is dead meat." she hissed. She shook herself and smiled down at us. "We are meeting tomorrow at 8 am for your finale test, if you pups impress me then we will be a team." she handed us each a folded piece of paper and she and Kokai dissipated in a swirl of leaves.

We each unfolded the paper. My eyebrows furrowed. Glancing at my teammates paper I grinned.

"So, who wants to go to the tea house and talk over our strategy?"
