A/N: I hope the ending of the last chapter didn't confuse anyone, and if it did I hope this chapter does explain some of it.

Chapter Eight
"Jason. Jason. Jason."
A voice whispers in his head, causing him to open his eyes. He quickly realizes that he's not in the princess's room, or in bed anymore. He doesn't even seem to be in a room anymore. There's grey mist all around him, and a woman standing a few feet in front of him. She has long brown hair and golden skin. She almost looked like the female version of himself. "Where am I?"
"We're inside your head. I thought it would be a good time for us to finally meet," she smirks, stepping closer to him, "big brother."
"What? You must have confused me with someone else." He splutters, backing away from her.
"I'm afraid not."
"Whoever you are, I'd like to wake up now."
Her face twists in anger, suddenly right in front of him. She places her hand on his chest, the area beneath her palm heating up rapidly. He screams in pain, as she burns through his armor. She shouts angrily, "you don't leave until I want you to!"
She pulls her hand away, and he falls to his knees, clutching his chest. "I'm not your brother! I'm not… whatever you are."
"I suspected as much. Your mother was human, so you must not have gotten the genes. Unfortunately for you." She smiles wickedly. "And our paths might not have ever crossed if you hadn't interfered with our plans for the princess. So the only way to get rid of her is to get rid of you first."
"Our plan?"
"Mine and our father's. The queen's only ever been interested in protecting herself, and on the rare occasion the princess. And things only got worse when the king died, and it was after that that we got an idea. The queen took away our power, so we'll take hers. And the king's death had already weakened her, so what would she do if she lost her precious daughter?"
"But we weren't counting on the guards interfering so much. First your little friend stopped me. And by the time he lost consciousness, I had drained most of my power. Then the princess was never alone after that, so I couldn't go for a direct hit. I thought the cold would do it, but you interfered."
"That was you?"
"Of course it was. One of my best spells, ineffective." She throws her hands up in the air exasperatedly. "But, I have much in store for you than burning your chest."
She puts a hand on his head, and suddenly they were outside. "Where are we?"
She doesn't respond. A couple, accompanied by a young child comes into view. "No."
The three get inside a car, and moments later the car explodes, rocking the ground. Tears prick at his eyes, and he clears his throat. "Why are you showing me this?"
"Because this is the moment everything changed for you. Your mother was dead, your father had disappeared, and you were left with a permanent reminder of the day that changed your life." She points to the scar on his face. She walks around to stand in front of him. "And this is the day it all started for me, as it was after this that our father met my mother. She took care of him, and soon fell pregnant by him. Then she got sick, and it was right before she died that she revealed the truth about the explosion that killed your mother."
She pauses, waving her hand near the explosion, causing it to replay. "She said that the bomb was meant for your father, and that it was ordered by someone in the royal family. The princess would've just been a child herself, so who does that leave?"
"What are you saying?"
"The queen ordered the bombing that killed your mother, intending it for your father. The mother of the woman who you love."
"And I'm just supposed to believe you? You're going to kill me! You claim to be my sister, yet you want to kill me."
"Oh, I intend to kill you, not because you're my brother. But because you keep interfering with my plot against the royal family, so I've had to make some… adjustments to my plan. Tonight however, I just wanted to leave you with something before you wake up."
She places her hands on his head, until he wakes with a start. His breathing is heavy, and it must be loud enough to wake the princess. "What's wrong?"
"I had the craziest dream." He shakes his head, feeling a tingling sensation on his chest. He reaches for the spot, feeling pain the second he touches the area with his hand. He winces, tearing the top of his uniform. And sure enough there was a massive burn on his chest.
"Where did that come from?" The princess asks, concerned.
"It wasn't a dream."
"I'm fine." He tries to get up from the bed, as Kat and Tommy share a laugh from the bed next to him.
"You have a third degree burn on your chest," Dr. Campbell deadpans, before removing her gloves with a sigh, "I'll be back. Make sure he doesn't leave will you?"
The other three people agree, and Dr. Campbell walks off into her office. Jason leans his head against the bed, sighing. Everyone was looking at him, as if silently daring him to try to get up again. "I'm not going to leave, so you can stop staring at me."
"That's not why we're staring at you. It's just… between this and what happened earlier… we're worried about you." Kat says slowly, almost like she was trying not to spook him. He hadn't been spoken to like that in a long time, and he was a child then. Now it made him feel like a child.
"I'm fine." He tries again, but judging by the looks on their faces they didn't buy it.
"You said that the last time. And then you woke up with a third degree burn on your chest and won't tell anyone how you got it." Kat says.
"You wouldn't believe me if I told you." He didn't quite believe it himself, even with the burn on his chest.
"Try us." Tommy pipes up.
Jason sighs, looking at the door to Dr. Campbell's office, which was still closed. "She was in my head."
"Who was?" The princess says.
"I didn't get a name, only that she claims she's my sister." Their eyes all go wide in shock. "I know. She put her hand on my chest, and somehow burned me through my armor. Then-"
He trails off, mentally debating with himself whether he should even mention this. He looks at the princess, who was sitting next to him on a stool. He didn't even know if any of what she said was true, so he didn't know if she should say anything. Fortunately, Dr. Campbell comes out of her office with something in her hand. She puts a new pair of gloves on, revealing that the thing is a jar of some cream. She begins to rub the cream on his burn, and he expects it to hurt. Instead, he feels nothing. After she finishes, she takes the gloves off, closing the jar.
"This should heal you, but you have to leave it on for three hours for it to work." She points her index finger at him, before going back to her office.
