A/N: I was looking through one day and found a journal that had themes listed for a challenge. I couldn't write any for the community since someone already picked Rufus, but that doesn't mean that I can't write them for myself right? This one (obviously) had to include the four seasons...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Spring came and with it came the first steps. In the beginning, they were unsteady and he fell often. However Rufus persevered and with the encouragement of the Turks, he was able to walk on his own without support for the first time in almost a year.
Summer brought his birthday and new beginnings. Wanting to give him a gift that would cheer him up and also be able to help him in the rare times that he was alone, the Turks bought him a cat. Reno suggested calling him Dark Nation the second; Rufus laughed at that and dismissed the idea. It was also the time when Rufus decided it was best to start rebuilding what was lost. He began pooling his resources and gathering his allies for what he hoped would be the start of a better Shinra company and of a better world.
Fall saw the construction begin and the fatigue set in. Not knowing anyone else better for the job, he asked Reeve to oversee the reconstruction of the city. He was also aware of the distrust most people still had for Shinra and asked Reeve to "create" a new company in order to cover up for the real company behind the city's reconstruction. Rufus also felt the stress beginning to take its toll. The fatigue and pain that he felt more and more as the season progressed made it increasingly difficult for him to do the long hours of work that he knew he had to do in order to acheive his goal.
Winter brought a new set of problems for the President. Reeve was pleased with the progress of the re-construction, however he informed Rufus that the amount of energy available to power the new buildings was inadequate. Rufus agreed that finding a new source of energy was something else that had to be added to the already long list of things to be done. It was also the season where he found himself back in a hospital bed and was given the name of what was causing his pain and fatigue: Geostigma. By the end of the winter, he became increasingly weaker and cursed the disease for returning him to the same wheelchair he fought so hard to leave behind the spring before.

R & R Please?
A/N 2: I am aware that it's not written anywhere that Reeve still works for Shinra. However, as far as I can see, it's not written anywhere that Reeve doesn't work for Shinra either...
