A light breeze made the hair on ryou's arms stand on end. He put his arms around himself in a feeble attempt to keep out the wind, feeling goosebumps under his touch. He sat on the top of a shining skyscraper, naturally it was the tallest one in domino city, any one that was taller would take away from the romance of the sunset for ryou, and patronize bakura. Normally he would be afraid so high up, but with his yami next to him ryou wasn't afraid at all. They were sitting on the edge of the building, their bare feet dangling over the city, their shoes having been abandoned about a yard away from the edge. Bakura's strong arm was wrapped around ryou's slender waist, ryou's head resting atop bakura's shoulder and in turn bakura's head leaned on ryou's, their ivory hair mingling and being tossed about by the wind.
Ryou smiled and kissed his yami's cheek, bakura released his hand from ryou's back in surprise, but then smiled a slightly warm grin. Ryou missing the protection of his yami's strong arms, was jolted a bit by how high up they were. He lay back on the warm, concrete roof to regain a sense of security. He stared up into the sky until his heartbeat had returned to normal. If you could get high up enough even the sunset of the city could be beautiful.
Ryou closed his eyes as another breeze blew across them. This one seemed a little bit warmer. "Yami," Ryou called softly. "hm?" bakura asked letting himself fall in the same manner as ryou, to lay beside his hikari. "I love you," mouthed ryou opening his eyes halfway, looking over at bakura then back up to the sky. In less then a second, so ryou had no time to gather what was going on, bakura had flipped himself over to balance himself above ryou. Ryou, slightly startled, stared up in the boy's eyes directly above his own. "I love you too, hikari." Bakura said quickly before kissing the smaller boy passionately. Their lips mingling and their tender tongues exploring all of each other's mouths.
It was some time before they parted, the sun was further across the horizon then before. They lay, wordless where they had been before. A flock of two or three bird flew over them their calls nearly lost to the wind. "I wish I could fly!" ryou proclaimed, sitting up suddenly. "Huh?" bakura asked confused, totally lost to where the idea came from. "Yeah, like the birds," ryou responded smiling faintly. A devious grin spread across bakura's features, "do you want to try?" he asked nonchalantly. "What!" ryou asked, looking down to bakura like he was totally crazy. Bakura stood up and turned to the boy, "do you trust me?" he asked offering his hand. Ryou stared up into the eyes of his yami. "I do." He smiled dreamily, taking the offered hand.
Bakura hoisted the lithe boy up until he was standing next to him. "Get on," bakura kneeled down in turn, and indicated for ryou to get on his shoulders. Ryou climbed on, and bakura sensing ryou was securely on his shoulders stood up hastily, just to give ryou a fright. He walked over to the edge and stood as close as he could get. "fly, ryou, fly!" bakura exclaimed. "I'm scared yami!" ryou called back, small tears forming at the corners of his eyes from the wind. "Trust me hikari, you can fly!" bakura smiled flashing his large canines. ryou abandoned his fears and spread his arms wide. Feeling the exhilaration of the height his heartbeat started to race. The wind hit his body with a force so strong that ryou was sure this was what it felt like to fly. Feeling so free, on top of the world, with his yami.
