Chapter 4

At the grand opening of AIM Tower in NYC, people had gathered in large crowds. Stark and Pepper were in the front row. Then Aldrich Killian himself came to the stage and everyone cheered.

"Thanks everyone for coming." Killian said. "This really means a lot to me and I gotta say, I didn't expect this many people here."

Everyone chuckled. Still got his sense of humor I see. Stark thought. "Today is the day where the future begins." Killian continued.

Oh, boy. Here we go. Stark thought as he mentally rolled his eyes. "It's called AIM. Advanced Idea Mechanics." Killian said.

A screen showed a logo of AIM. "AIM will change the world with something called Extremis." Killian said.

As he spoke, the screen changed to show someone's cut getting healed by a mysterious orange liquid. "It rewrites the human DNA to heal any injuries or diseases we might have." Killian continued. "And that's only the potential of what it can do. Extremis can also give you super-strength like the Hulk, repair lost limbs, and many more stuff. With AIM and Extremis, we will change the world, starting today."

The speech ended and Killian stepped off the stage and into the crowd as the people applauded and cheered. Stark followed Killian until he finally reached him.

"Tony Stark!" Killian said. "Nice to see you again."

"Yeah." Stark said. "How'd you pull this off? Extremis, I mean."

"I did my research." Killian replied. "And it wasn't easy. I got help from a few people, even Helen Cho."

"The U-GIN doctor?" Stark asked.

"Yeah. At first she was reluctant but I managed to convince her to join AIM." Killian said. "Good things are going to come, Stark. Great things I should say."

Suddenly, a man glowing with red fire appeared. He breathed out a jet of fire from his mouth and people ran and screamed as the flames licked the air.

"Oh, my!" Killian said.

"Stay back." Stark warned.

He turned on the RT in his chest and the nanobots for the Iron-Man Mark 88 formed around his body. Iron-Man shot his repulsor rays but to his surprise, the Fire Man didn't get stunned. The Fire Man tried to attack Iron-Man with his red-hot fists but Iron-Man used forcefields around his arms to block the blows. Then Iron-Man shot out his Unibeam. Bet he can't absorb this. Iron-Man thought. But to his surprise, the Fire Man did absorb the energy. Now he was glowing even more brightly. Suddenly, he exploded. Literally. Waves of fire engulfed the area. Luckily, Iron-Man had his suit protecting him. Unfortunately, the civilians didn't have that luxury. Ten people were killed and Killian had fled. Pepper was hit, too, but only her arm was burnt and Stark immediately had FRIDAY send in the ambulances. What've I done? Stark thought as he looked on in shock at the devastation around him.
