I think this one is my favourite so far. Didn't mean to make so many Jack and Danny fics... they just sort of happened!

Enjoy! -MATW

Danny looked out the window of the GAV with a thoughtful frown, watching the trees with mild interest.

"Danny?" Jack said, breaking the silence.

"Yeah Dad," he replied, not looking at his father.

"How many times did that ghost attack you today?"

"Skulker?" Danny asked, turning to his Dad. "A few, why?"

Jack gripped the steering wheel a little tighter. "Were you planning on telling me?"

Danny's eyebrow rose slightly. "I thought we were supposed to have a ghost free weekend?" he retorted.

"Danny."

Danny sighed at his father's tone, looking down. "I thought about it," he admitted. "I just -"

"Didn't want me to get in the way?"

Danny's head shot up. "No!" he replied indignantly. "Are you kidding Dad? The way you wrangled that Skulker's pet - that was so cool!" He looked down again, frowning. "No, it's… it's me." He opened and closed his hands, trying to think of the words. Jack drove on in silence, glancing at Danny as he was lost in his thoughts. "Remember when you found out?"

Jack chuckled. "Trust me Dan, your mother and I will never forget it."

Danny chuckled nervously. "Right," he replied. "I said I was never going to be ready to tell you guys - but I had to."

Jack turned to his son. "Do you regret it?"

"No," Danny's soft answer came swiftly. Jack nodded, eyes back on the road. "I don't." He was quiet again. "I've just been hiding this for so long - and we were having a good time, I didn't want to ruin it with a ghost fight."

The hum of the GAV lulled them into silence again.

"Do you know why your Mom and I suggested this?" Jack asked. Danny shook his head. "You have this… heaviness to you Danny. Like the world is going to end because of your decisions." Danny sighed. "It didn't stop when you told us, and the truce plan is working slower than we would like it to. You're shouldering all the Phantom stuff on your own but you're forgetting about you." Danny looked up at his father, confused. "Danny, your Mom and I know you're worried about Plasmius showing up in town and trying to figure out how all this works… but you don't have to do it alone. We love you, remember that."

Danny smiled. "I know," he said. "Thanks."

Jack grinned. "Anytime!" Jack pulled off to the side, stopping. "Hungry?"

Danny's stomach picked that moment to rumble. "Starving actually."

"Good - I'll grab some grub and you can tell me more about whether or not you think you like your friend Sam."

Danny's face burned red. "Dad!"
