Didn't think I'd get a chapter up tonight! I have about 12ish more planned for this story but oof... the ending of Out of Time had me feeling all the feelings so it's hard to get back into the swing of things. I hope you enjoy (this one feels a little stiff for me)

Danny groaned, shivering under the blankets as he curled up under the blankets as he tried to stop his shivering. A shrill beep from his alarm had another groan escaping his lips, sending a small ecto-blast at his bedside table. It stopped beeping, exploding with a loud set of sparks.

Crap. Hope no one-

"Danny?! Was that your alarm clock again?" his Mom's exasperated voice drifted up from the kitchen.

Sighing, he got up gingerly - keeping the blankets close. Why was it so cold? It was only November. He shivered as cold air crept through him, chilling him to the bone. He wrapped himself tighter in the blankets.

"Hurry up mister! Tucker will be here soon."

Danny let out a breath, not noticing it fogging up in front of him. "I'm up!" He called back, getting out of bed. Shivering more heavily now, he rubbed his arms rapidly as he walked towards his closet. "Think this calls for a sweater."

:-=-:

Ten minutes, one t-shirt and two sweaters later, Danny managed to head down the stairs, still shivering. I only fought Technus yesterday he mused as he put his hands in the sleeves of his sweater. Definitely don't feel sick. Suddenly, Danny paused, wide eyed. Actually… when was the last time I got sick? Can I even get sick anymore?!

Our first run in with Desiree Phantom replied tartly. We caught Sam's cold. Now can we get warm please?

He exhaled slightly as he entered the kitchen.

Jack looked up with a grin, reading the paper with his cup of coffee as Danny came in. "Took you long enough," he jibed, tilting his head to the mug at the table. "I snuck you a cup - tell your mother it's hot chocolate."

Danny grinned back tiredly. "Thanks Dad." He watched steam rise from the mug. Perfect - just what I needed. He took a small sip from it and frowned as he felt no warmth from it. He was still just as cold.

"Finally!" Maddie said in a huff as she came up the stairs holding a small digital clock with a Fenton logo on it. "Honestly Danny - that's your fifth alarm clock this month. Try breaking this one."

Danny frowned as he eyed it warily. "Ghost shield?"

"Ghost shield," Maddie confirmed as she set it on the table. "On a timer." Her eyes narrowed at the mug in his hand. "What are you drinking?"

"Hot Chocolate," Danny and Jack replied at the exact same time.

Maddie relented, watching her youngest take a sip, wrinkling his nose in disgust as a shiver past through him. "Ghost Sense?"

Danny shook his head. "Cold," he replied with chattering teeth. Jack put the newspaper down as both parents looked the boy over. Jack glanced at Maddie - Danny often had a hard time opening up to them when something was wrong.

"Danny," Maddie started with a frown. "Are you alright?"

The boy paused, another shiver going through his body. "I'm just cold."

Jack reached out to his son's forehead, frowning at the temperature through his glove. "Danny, you're freezing!"

The boy got out of range, stepping back slightly. "I usually run cold remember? Half ghost - It runs with the territory." He glanced at his watch. "I better go, Tucker's probably close. See you after school!" Danny bolted out of the kitchen, sparing a small glance at his parents.

"Danny wait-" Maddie called after him but he was already out the door. She sighed, looking at Jack for guidance. "Old habits die hard I guess," she said sullenly.

Jack made a distracted noise of agreement, eyes staring widely at Danny's chair. "I'd say."

Maddie turned to the chair and gasped. The chair that Danny recently vacated was frozen over, with a trail of ice leading out of the kitchen. She glanced quickly in the hallway and saw the entire hallway was frozen over. "He can create ice?!"

"Not since we last tested his powers," Jack said with a frown. "I was pretty thorough. If he showed us the Ecto-storm and the wail, I don't think he'd hold back ice powers."

"New then…" Maddie mused. Her eyes widened. "Jazz. We need to call Jazz."

Jack nodded. "I'll get the Fenton Flamethrower."

Maddie made it three steps toward the phone before she rounded on her husband. "The what!?"
