So I've been gone... a while. Sorry about that. I graduated from high school, so I've been busy with other things. I'm back for now though, so don't worry too much. I also have to apologize for how short this chapter is. I needed to get back into the groove of writing, and a short chapter was what I needed. I'll try and get a lengthier one out soon.

Guest 2:I feel like I should clarify. What I meant by buffing the monsters was mostly that I was writing the whole lore of monsters being weaker than humans out of the story. It's also kind of hard to powerscale in Undertale because all the fights are 2d and take place in a box lol. I just made the monsters as strong as they are based on what felt right.

After a couple more puzzles and an incredibly awkward confrontation with the Royal Guard, the group came upon a large plateau.

"Something tells me that-"

"Greetings darlings!"

"Of fucking course."

Suddenly, a large figure dropped from above, kicking up a ton of dust as it landed.

"I was thinking about doing a news report, but then I realized that that's boring! So I decided that a giant robot would be a fine show!"

Mettaton's voice came from a speaker somewhere on the robot's head. The thing was at least 50 feet tall, painted mostly red and blue, and was wielding what looked to be a giant battle axe.

"Damn..."

"Better think fast darlings! Giant robots don't tend to wait around! Ta-ta!"

The speaker cut off and the robot readied it's axe.

"Uh, Chara, analysis?"

"Alpha Mech Mark 1. Threat level: High Demon. While it's striking power is formidable, it's lacking in speed."

The robot swung it's axe down on Badd. Being distracted by Chara's explanation, he couldn't move out of the way in time. He was able to raise his bat in defense however. The two weapons clashed, the force of the blow making Badd's knees bend a bit.

Badd grunted and gradually started to force his way past the robot's strength, eventually forcing the robot's axe off of him. The robot made to bring the weapon down again, but this time Badd managed to avoid it. The axe slammed into the ground, cracking the stone and lodging the axe into it. While the robot was trying to remove it's weapon, Seito approached the handle and snapped it with a palm strike.

"Error. Primary weaponry destroyed. Deploying backup weaponry."

One of the robot's hands retracted into it's arms before being replaced with a cannon looking attachment.

"Laser cannon deployed."

The robot pointed it's new appendage at Seito before letting loose a blast. The idol barely managed to leap out of the way before a large explosion blew up the area where he had been standing.

Badd stared at the robot in shock. "That's the BACKUP weapon?! Who the hell designed this thing?"

"Who cares, we need to find a way to take this thing out!"

The robot aimed it's blaster at Seito and let loose a volley of blasts at him as he ran.

"Shit, it's destroying the area! we gotta take this thing out quick before we run outta room."

Seito looked up to see a blast coming right at him. With no time to doge, he grunted and blocked with his forearms. At the last moment, Badd appeared in front of him and blocked the attack with his bat.

Badd grunted as he attempted to repel the explosive energy. "Rrgh! Here ya bucket o bolts, you can have this back, we don't WANT IT!"

At last, the bat wielding hero managed to deflect the blast back towards the robot. It struck it in it's chest and burnt away at it's armored plating.

Badd smirked and held his bat sideways in front of him.

"Need a lift?"

"It would be appreciated."

Seito jumped up on Badd's bat and he propelled him into the air. The robot saw him coming and tried to fire another blast, but the idol slammed his foot down on the cannon, snapping it off from the arm. He then springboarded off of the arm and flew towards the robot's torso. Badd jumped up and joined him, and their attacks slammed through the robot. The two flew through the torso, ripping out the other side along with a ton of cords, circuits and an explosion.

The robot wobbled on it's feet, trying to stay upright, but after a moment it leaned forward, smashing into the ground. The force of the impact cracked the plateau, and started splitting it apart.

Zenko wobbled a little as the area she was standing on began to fall apart. "Big bro, hurry!"

Badd jumped around the falling area, many of the portions falling into the lava. He reached Zenko and Temmie and scooped them up in his grasp and went to jump back to where Seito was waiting.

As he was closing in on safety, the ground under him cracked messing up his jump and preventing him from leaping far.

"Big bro!"

Badd grunted. "Zenko, hold on to Temmie!"

With that, the bat wielding hero flung his little sister over to safety as he continued to fall.

"Shit... Here's hoping my bat is buoyant..."

Just as Badd was about to hit the lava, a hand grabbed onto his wrist. Badd looked up to see Seito holding onto him, his hand lodged into the cliff.

"Heh, thanks for the save."

"I'm not just going to let you die you know."

"Bold of you to assume a little lava can put me down."

Seito rolled his eyes and hoisted himself and Badd up onto stable ground. Zenko immediately ran up and hugged her big brother.

"Oh, bro that was so scary! I thought you were gonna die!"

"Sorry ta worry you Zenko, but I'm fine now."

"...Yeah. Come on, lets get out of here."

Alphys and Mettaton watched the entire scene from a camera that had been placed on a nearby cavern wall.

"Th-that was incredible! They took down the A-Alpha Mech! Th-that took me almost a w-week to build!"

"It was a rather astounding performance. Two vastly different people, and yet they make a wonderful team. That split second save that Metal Bat, their combined attack, and Sweet Mask's dramatic rescue! Surely this will be great for reviews!"

Alphys gave Mettaton a stern glance. Well, as stern as she could muster anyhow. "M-Mettaton, we're doing this t-to test them f-for Asgore. Not r-reviews. A-and I'm starting t-to dislike th-this idea. I mean, B-Badd almost died just now!"

"And you think that Asgore will show them any mercy? We need to prepare them to face anything! Who knows what the king will throw at them!"

Alphys looked towards the camera again to see the group of humans plus Temmie walk away from the destroyed plateau. The robot that they had fought was melting in the lava below.

"Y-yeah, I guess. I just can't help but w-worry though."

"Alphys darling, they're heroes! Danger comes with their job!"

Alphys remained silent, simply staring at the screen. After a minute or two, her phone buzzed. Seeing the caller's name made her pause. He hadn't called in quite some time.

"H-hello Sans?"

"yo alph. we gotta talk."
