Queen Iduna was heading to bed with her husband when they heard a soft giggling coming from their daughters' room. The king and queen shared a knowing smile at each other before opening the door and seeing their children in a pile of snow playing with little snow figurines.

"The Fairy queen swoops and creates a blast of ice and saves the forest creatures." Their oldest daughter Elsa said as she held her fairy creation, making it fly through the air.

Their younger daughter Anna started to giggle and grabbed her own toy. "And the princess leads the creatures out of the evil forest and there was her true love."

Elsa's turned to her sister confused. "Anna?"

Anna ignoring her sister and continued on with her fantasy. "And then the princess and the prince kissed!"

Elsa made a gaging noise before making her fairy swoop into Anna's princess. "Thanks to the brave efforts of the two sisters the forest is freed!"

Anna grabbed hold of all the little animal creatures and hugged them close. "And all of the animals loved them and were happy forever!" Anna threw the toys in the air and fell back onto the snow. Elsa got a mischievous look on her face and before Anna knew what it meant she was being tickled.

"N-no, giggle, s-stop, he-he, p-please!" Anna could not stop laughing and Elsa also joined in. They were completely unaware of their surroundings so when they heard a soft chuckle come from behind them, they both froze.

Their parents both had a smile on their face as they stared down at their daughters. Anna and Elsa both got a sideways smile as they realized that they had been caught.

Their father stepped forward. "Alright you two, it is time for bed."

"Aaaaw." Both Elsa and Anna cried." But were not tired yet."

King Agnarr looked to his wife for help. Iduna nodded. "What if we told you a bedtime story?"

The two girls perked up at that.

"Will it have magic?" Elsa asked excitedly.

"And true love?" Anna questioned dreamily.

Iduna chewed her bottom lip trying to think of a story that had those elements, she had been planning to just tell them the story of the duck that found his family, but her children would not settle for anything but what they had asked.

"I know the perfect story." Iduna's husband said as he grabbed a chair and placed it by Elsa's bed. Anna and Elsa squealed as they climbed onto the bed.

"What's it called? What's it called!?" They said in unison.

Agnarr chuckled. He turned his head towards his wife with a serious expression. "It has no name. It is a story from when I was young and how I entered an enchanted forest and met your mother."

"You've seen an enchanted forest?" Elsa asked as Anna perked up saying "Wait what?"

Iduna's eyes got wide as she stared at her husband. "Are you sure?"

Agnarr nodded. "They're ready."

A young Agnarr was hiding behind some barrels as he watched his father gather his men. As soon as their backs were turned, he dashed for one of the carts and hid himself under some blankets. The ride was bumpy, but Agnarr refused to complain. His father had for the last year been meeting with a tribe of people known as the Northuldra.

Agnarr had heard so many things about the people from the royal guards that had accompanied his father, about how they lived in an enchanted forest and lived together with spirits that would represent an element. The four spirits of earth, wind, water, and fire.

When the cart finally stopped and a voice said that they had arrived and to set up camp, Agnarr could barely contain his excitement. He peaked his head out from where he was hiding. When he saw that no one was around him he quickly got out and dashed for the woods.

They were beautiful. Agnarr just stood there taking it all in, he really wanted to just lay down and admire everything but when he heard his father ordering that they would be going to talk with the Northuldran people Agnarr snapped out of his trance. He was very curious about the mysterious Northuldra people, so he followed his father and the guards, making sure that he was farther back to not be caught.

When they finally arrived Agnarr thought that the Northuldra people were very nice. They thanked his father for the gift of a dam, and his father in turn said that he looked forward to their friendship. And then the magic started. Everyone started chatting and getting to know each other, and the Northuldran started to show everyone what the Spirits could do. People were being lifted in the air, fire jumped around them, the earth moved, and the water carried people across it. Agnarr was enchanted, but he could not participate. A part of him thought he could bare whatever punishment his father chose for him if he was allowed to feel the magic himself. He almost decided to reveal himself when he heard something behind him.

Agnarr took one last look at the festivities before he headed deeper into the forest. After a short walk he found the source of the noise. A young girl was floating, the air pushing her up. The girl was laughing, her brown hair wiping around her. Agnarr smiled at the girl as he leaned against the tree he was hiding behind, he felt happy because she was so happy.

The girl floated back down to the ground and the wind fled. The girl looked confused and even called out. Agnarr straitened himself up, concerned for the girl. Suddenly Agnarr was pulled down. He was on the ground and moving fast among the leaves before he felt himself burst upwards. He was flying. He flopped around in the air before he found some sort of balance. And then his eyes landed on the girl as she stared up at him. He gave a small smile and wave, then the wind stopped, and he landed in a pile of leaves.

Looking up he saw the girl smiling down at him.

"I didn't know that the king of Arendelle was going to bring someone my age." She said it excitedly as she offered a hand to help him up.

Agnarr took the hand gratefully. Once he was on his feet and had straightened himself out, he turned to the girl and gave her a small bow. "It is a pleasure to meet you, I am prince Agnarr of Arendelle."

The girl's eyes got wide "You're a prince?" Agnarr gave her a proud nod. The girl straightened up. "I'm Iduna, why weren't you introduced at the meeting?"

Agnarr swayed nervously with a lopsided grin. "Well, my father doesn't really know that I am here."

Iduna's stared at him for a moment before her face lit up in understanding. "You snuck in here?!"

Agnarr nodded. "Please don't tell anyone, at least not yet."

Iduna smiled at him and clasped her hands behind her back. "don't worry I won't tell."

Agnarr gave a relieved sigh. "Thank you."

Iduna bounced on her toes. "So, stow away prince. How would you like to meet the greatest spirit in the Enchanted Forest?"

Agnarr's eyes got wide as he broke out in a grin. "Really?!" He could barely contain his excitement. Iduna grabbed his hand and led him deeper into the forest. As they walked, they chatted and got to know each other. Iduna was curious about Arendelle and Agnarr wanted to know more about the forest. Agnarr started to question on what spirit they were meeting.

"Is it the water spirit?"

"No."

"The earth spirits?"

"Nope."

"But I heard that they were giant."

"It's not the earth spirits that I am showing you your highness."

"Then it is the wind or fire spirits!"

Iduna shook her head. "It is not the fire spirit, and you already met the wind spirit."

Agnarr was confused now. "But I thought that was all of the spirits?"

Iduna looked at him with a gleam in her eyes. "There is one more, now be quite we're here."

Iduna pushed away some branches that were in their way and reviled a wide-open area with a lake. It was breath taking but what drew Agnarr's eyes was the Aurora Borealis that was shimmering right next to the water's edge.

Iduna stepped forward. "Ahtohalla, I brought someone that I wanted to meet you."

The Aurora Borealis stood up, two hands pulled the top part down, reveling long white hair. The figure turned around.

It was the most beautiful woman Agnarr had ever seen. Pale skin with silver eyes, she wore a white dress and the Aurora Borealis that Agnarr had seen was a cape that draped across her shoulders and flowed around her.

The woman smiled. "Hello Iduna, who is it that you have brought?"

Agnarr quickly got out of his stupor and stepped forward. He gave her a bow similar to the one he had given Iduna, but this one was more formal as he could tell she was very important just like how he is in Arendelle. "I am prince Agnarr of Arendelle, I am happy to make your acquaintance." He straitened up excited to get to know the woman.

The woman stared at him in shock and Agnarr felt like he had done something wrong, even Iduna looked at him weirdly. Agnarr was about to apologize when a warm smile graced the woman's features and she bowed to him. "Hello young prince, I am Ahtohalla, the fifth spirit and guardian of the Enchanted Forest."

Agnarr relaxed and extended his hand in friendship, just as his father had done with the Northuldra people. "It is a pleasure to meet you Ahtohalla."

Ahtohalla took his hand in both of hers and held it. "And I you Agnarr."

Agnarr smiled happily and even started to bounce on his feet. He heard a giggle and then Iduna grabbed his arm. "Isn't he so nice Ahtohalla?"

Ahtohalla nodded and released Agnarr's hand. "Yes, he is Iduna, thank you for giving me the chance to get to know him."

Iduna smiled, proud of herself. Ahtohalla gave a mischievous grin. "Although, I am wondering why you wasted time bringing him here when you have chores to do Iduna?"

Iduna's face fell in confusion.

Ahtohalla lifted her right hand and twirled it in the air. A stream of magic flew from her hands and created a woman made of snow. The woman started to move and talk, shocking Agnarr. "Iduna, I want you to gather some wood and make sure you make your bed. Just because the king of Arendelle is coming does not mean you can slack off on your responsibility's." The snow woman then disappeared.

Iduna's eyes grew round, and she started to back away. "Oh, I um, giggle, I forgot." She looked up and smiled. "Thanks, Ahtohalla, I'll be back Agnarr." She waved and dashed back into the woods. Leaving Agnarr and Ahtohalla alone.

Agnarr shifted feeling uncomfortable now that Iduna had left. Even though Ahtohalla and him seemed to be in similar entitlement, she was still older than him and now he was starting to feel like he should have been more respectful when introducing himself.

"Is everything all right?"

Agnarr quickly turned around and faced Ahtohalla. "Y-yes! Sorry I just…" Agnarr stopped himself unsure of what to say. Finally, he decided to just get to the root of the problem. "Did I do something wrong?" He stared at Ahtohalla and she in turned gazed back at him in confusion. He looked down. "It's just that when I introduced myself both you and Iduna looked at me funnily."

Agnarr heard Ahtohalla laughing. He looked up to see her amused face. "I'm sorry, I did not know I would give you such distress." Ahtohalla folded her hands in front of her. "The Northuldra greatly respect the Spirits of the forest as well as magic in general. Iduna was raised like any other child in her village, and even though she has become a very good friend to me, you cannot blame her for being shocked at someone speaking so casually with me."

Agnarr nodded now getting why Iduna had stared at him. She had told him that Agnarr's father was the only king she had ever known about. Ahtohalla had probably been the most important person that she had ever known, and then to have a child just walk up to her claiming his title and even shook her hand was no doubt a surprise.

"As for me." Agnarr looked back up at Ahtohalla. "I was equally surprised that you had talked to me as though I was your equal."

"I-." Agnarr immediately tried to apologize but Ahtohalla placed a finger to his lips to stopping him,

"I am not saying that you did something wrong." Ahtohalla lowered her hand from his face and placed it on his shoulder. "I have lived a very long time, and in all my years only a few have treated me as an equal, but they have always been other magical creatures, never humans."

Agnarr looked at her confused. "How come? Have you never met a royal person before?"

Ahtohalla gently shook her head side to side. "I have met many different types of people, rich and poor, king and peasant. But knowing that I am a magical creature makes them distance themselves from me."

"Distance themselves how?" Agnarr was very curious. "Even though you have magic, your still human right?"

Ahtohalla lowered her hand from his shoulder. She unclasped her cape and walked over to a rock placing it on top of it. She turned back to Agnarr who now saw how very pale she was now that her cape was off. She reminded him of the snow statue that she had created. Ahtohalla took a step toward him and as her foot came down on the ground she burst into a flurry of snowflakes. The snowflakes came together on the ground and formed a white squirrel that scurried up a tree. Then the squirrel jumped and formed into a deer that pranced around him. Finally, the deer stopped and transformed back into Ahtohalla.

Agnarr stood stunned. Ahtohalla folded her hands and waited for his reaction. Agnarr's mouth started to move but no sound came out.

Ahtohalla closed her eyes, she was used to this and a part of her was sad because of it.

"Wow!"

Ahtohalla opened her eyes to see Agnarr's wide grin.

"You're amazing Ahtohalla." Agnarr truly believed it. She was something truly different then him and he could tell how important she was. But he could see her loneliness, something he himself as the only child to the throne of a kingdom could relate to. So, he decided to treat her as he would love for her to treat him.

As a friend.

Ahtohalla saw his intentions and it warmed her heart. She moved and sat back down on the edge of the lake and patted a patch of grass next to her.

Agnarr eagerly went and sat down. "The fifth element is snow?"

"Hmm?" Ahtohalla tilted her head. "In a way."

Agnarr looked puzzled at her. "But snow is water?"

At this Ahtohalla laughed making Agnarr a little agitated. "No, no, I am sorry, I understand your confusion." Ahtohalla reached up and tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear, and then stared across the lake in deep thought. "How do I explain it. The four spirits represent an element but the fifth, which is me, is something completely different that connects the four."

"How does snow connect them?" Agnarr got into a more comfortable position.

"It doesn't." Ahtohalla turned to face him. "Water has memories. It constantly flows through the world and the memories that it collects comes to me and through my powers I can see people for who they are. I can connect to them."

Agnarr tilted his head. "Water has memories?"

Ahtohalla nodded. "Yes, you saw me create that snow statue of Iduna's mother to remined her of the chores she had to do."

"You can create anything?" Agnarr looked expectantly at her. Ahtohalla nodded, causing Agnarr to start fidgeting.

"What is it that you want to see?" Ahtohalla's voice was kind.

Sorrow filled Agnarr's eyes. "My mother."

Ahtohalla's smile faded, and her eyes became down cast. She looked into his eyes with hope that he would understand. "I could show you, But I feel that it would be cruel, and you will hurt more."

Agnarr nodded and gave her a small smile. "Thank you Ahtohalla."

Ahtohalla draped an arm around his shoulder and held him close. She started to sing. It was a song that she said was about where she came from.

Where the north wind meets the sea

There's a river full of memory

Sleep, my darling, safe and sound

For in this river all is found

In her waters, deep and true

Lie the answers and a path for you

Dive down deep into her sound

But not too far or you'll be drowned

Yes she will sing to those who'll hear

And in her song, all magic flows

But can you brave what you most fear?

Can you face what the river knows?

Where the north wind meets the sea

There's a mother full of memory

Come, my darling, homeward bound

When all is lost, then all is found

After that they simple sat there and talked about random things. What their favorite color or book was and if they had seen any part of the world besides their own. They chatted until Iduna came back.

Ahtohalla stood up. "You two can go have fun but first, Agnarr." Ahtohalla waved her hand, and a gust of snowflakes came to her caring a book. The book landed in her hands, and she handed it to him. "This is a book that will lead you to an old friend of mine that lives in Arendelle."

Agnarr studied the book, it was old but still sturdy. "Thank you." He hugged the book to his chest.

"Make sure to say high to him for me, now run along and play." Ahtohalla shooed them away.

Iduna grabbed Agnarr's arm and started to drag him away. "Alright, we will see you later."

Agnarr managed one last wave to Ahtohalla before the trees obscured his view of her, but he still saw her wave back.

After that, both Agnarr and Iduna played for the rest of the day. It was not until the sun started to set that they both decided to head back.

"Are you sure you want to reveal to your father that you snuck onto the carriage, I could always help you hide and then you could sneak back when they leave." Iduna asked him.

Agnarr nodded. "The staff back at Arendelle will have already noticed that I am gone and will tell him. I might get in trouble now, but I would rather my father think of me as being disobedient then a liar."

Iduna smiled at him, but a noise drew her attention and her smile faded. Up ahead loud clanging sounds and shouts could be heard. The two children looked at each other before rushing towards the village.

Agnarr could not believe his eyes. A battle raged before him, the Arendelle and Northuldra people slashed at each other with swords and spears. At the corner of his eye, he saw Iduna step forward in a daze. An Arendelle solder saw her and raised his sword. Agnarr had no time to think. Why was this happening, why are they fighting each other, where is father? thousands of questions but they were in the back of his mind as he saw the solder running towards Iduna.

"No!" Agnarr yelled as he ran forward and pushed the solder away. He took a defensive stand in front of Iduna.

"Prince Agnarr?" A voice called out. Agnarr looked and saw Lieutenant Mattias, his eyes confused before hardening. Mattias ran forward and pushed Agnarr behind him. Stay behind me. Agnarr took a hold of Iduna's hand, Mattias looked at them. Agnarr gave one sad look before dragging Iduna away with him. After seeing someone try to hurt Iduna there was no one that Agnarr could trust.

They ran for a while avoiding any fighting that they could. They stumbled into a clearing with a clear view of a cliff. There Agnarr saw his father. It was only for a moment as his father was fighting someone and, in their struggle, they both fell of the side of the cliff.

"Father!" Agnarr tried to rush forward but Iduna held him back. At that moment Agnarr noticed how strong the wind was blowing. It was pushing them from all sides. Agnarr looked around and saw that the forest was on fire and the water was raging. Before he could even move a humongous bolder landed in front of them, causing them to fling away. Agnarr felt his head make contact with something hard.

He was barley conscience, but he could just make out Iduna trying to drag him away before giving up and cuddling him close. The world raged around them, and she did her best to protect him with her body.

"Ah-ah-ah-ah"

A voice rang out.

"Ah-ah-ah-ahh, ah-ah"

Agnarr could feel him and Iduna lift up into the air before he passed out.

Both Agnarr and Iduna had lost so much that day. Agnarr his father, and Iduna her family and home. But they gained each other.

Anna and Elsa's eyes were wide. "Wow." Anna said as she flopped her head down on Elsa's shoulder. "Papa, that was epic!"

Their father smiled at them. "All right time for bed." He stood up to leave. But his children weren't done yet.

"What happened to the forest? Who started the fight? What was the voice? Who saved you!"

Iduna tried to calm her children down, answer their questions as she did so. "We do not know why they were fighting, your father and I were carried out of the forest and as soon as we had left a magical mist enveloped the forest and no one has ever gone in or out again. As for the voice." Iduna looked at her husband. "We do not know who it was."

Elsa looked at her hands. "Do you think Ahtohalla is the one who gave me my powers?"

Iduna gave her eldest a sad smile. She knew that the question of where her powers came from plagued her. "I am sorry Elsa, but no. Ahtohalla could do many things, but she could not gift others with magic." Elsa looked down upset. Iduna gave her daughters a more cheerful smile. "And now, to bed. You both have big days tomorrow with your tutoring sessions."

Both girls groaned. "Do we have to?"

Elsa turned to Anna. "Why are you complaining? My lessons are so much harder than yours."

Anna folded her arms and mumbled about how hers was just as hard.

At that Iduna scooped Anna up into her arms and Agnarr started to tuck Elsa in. "They are harder because you are older than Anna." He explained. "And yes, you do have to have your lessons." He looked Elsa in her eyes. "One day you are going to be Queen, and you need to know how to care for your people Elsa."

Elsa seeing how serious her father looked nodded her head.

Anna looked up at her mother. "What will I be when I grow up?"

Iduna poked her nose. "Anything you want Anna. You are the princess and there are some duties that you must perform but your life is wide open."

Iduna tucked Anna in and her and Agnarr left their daughters to dream.

Song: "All is found" Sung by Ahtohalla to Agnarr.

Authors notes: Me while writing this. "Aaaaah! It never ends!"

Thank you for reading the first chapter of my Frozen 2 fan fiction. I loved Frozen and had been so excited for its sequel. When I finally saw Frozen 2, I left the movie theater feeling, confused, angry, and upset. It was a mess. I kept trying to defend the movie but ultimately, I had to just give up. So now I am writing a fan fiction.

I am trying to change as little as possible. (I lied, I ended up changing a lot) I am going to keep some scenes but changing them up a bit, so I am not just repeating what the movie did. For example, Anna and Elsa playing in the snow is deferent but it is still the same.

This fan fiction is to show how small changes could have made the movie a lot better. For example, why did King Runeard bring Agnarr? Solution, Agnarr snuck in. As well as the existence of Ahtohalla being a person instead of a cave.

I hope you have a good time reading this and will be excited on where it goes. Thank you!
