Another day was setting as Kristoff snuck out of the medical tent for some fresh air.

"I told them I was fine." He grumbled as he moved his bandaged arm. He knew he should not be complaining but he was worried about Anna and Elsa, maybe he should have at least told them to take Sven.

As Kristoff thought that he realized that he did not know where his friend was. He looked around and spotted his reindeer next to Olaf.

As Kristoff approached, he noticed that Olaf's shoulders were slumped in depression.

"Hey, how is it going?" Kristoff asked as he sat next to Olaf.

"Hey Kristoff, I am just thinking." Olaf said in a to quiet voice.

"About?"

"Do you think Elsa will stay behind after our adventure here?" Olaf asked looking up at him.

"What brought this on?" Kristoff was surprised. Elsa loved being queen and was adored by her people. Why would she ever think to leave?

"Yelena told me that it was her destiny and that she belonged here with all the magic." Olaf said sadly.

Kristoff thought about it. "Elsa did feel out of place." He mumbled, remembering his conversation with Elsa.

"So, she will really leave Arendelle?" Olaf asked him.

Kristoff could only smile and put an arm around the snowman.

"Maybe, she might not, but whatever she decided we have to respect her wishes." Kristoff encouraged him.

"But what about what everyone else wants?" Olaf asked.

Kristoff had no answer to that.

Elsa stood on the pebble beach looking out at the dark sea. She felt rejuvenated and ready for this challenge.

Soon, she would reach Ahtohallan and discover who she was meant to be.

With a wave of her hand her dress shortened and created a slip for her to move easier, and her cape disappeared.

Elsa ran forward and as soon as her boot hit the water a humongous ice dock formed and stretched out to the sea.

Elsa knew she had to be smart about this. She could not swim the dark sea. Being locked up in the castle for thirteen years did not help her athletically, and she had never thought to take swimming lessons after she became queen. No, she would have to rely on her powers and imagination to create whatever she needed.

Falling in the water would spell her doom.

The waves crashed over her creation and Elsa raised her hands, and as she did, the platform also rose up, supported by huge ice pillars that stretched into the sea. She rose it high until it became something of a bridge. The waves in return got bigger and bigger.

Magic.

Elsa could feel it in the water.

A wave crashed over her, and she almost fell off but caught herself at the last second. Elsa knew that she could not pull herself up so instead she let go and created a slide that formed into a giant ship.

Elsa landed and instantly spread her hands wide as her magic shot through the ship, creating twelve oars, six on both sides, that started to row at her command.

Elsa looked forward and there she saw it. The fourth Spirit. It was in the form of a horse, but Elsa could see right through it, reveling that it was made out of water.

It stood there staring at her.

Elsa didn't even hesitate as she raised her hands and blasted it with ice. It reared up and dived down into the water.

The water started to part, and the ship started to move down. Elsa realized that this was the Spirits doing and froze the water all around the ship but that did nothing as the ship continued to be sucked down. The water formed over her head and moved to crash down on her. Elsa quickly jumped off the ship and created a pillar that shot her upward.

She landed in the water and quickly created a platform that she crawled onto. The waves were still crashing around her, and she stood up.

The horse was charging her but luckily, she rose up on a wave, giving her the high ground. She created a wall of ice an let it crash down onto the Spirit that neighed in surprise.

The horse dived down, and Elsa saw it burst into water, fading away before it reappeared elsewhere.

A plan formed in her head and Elsa smirked.

Elsa created a rope, she tied it around her waist and had it melded into her platform that she made even thicker so that it would not break, and then she dove down. The horse saw her in the water and disappeared, and then reappeared right in front of her ready to strike. But Elsa had planned for this.

She grabbed the horses head and had her powers freeze it solid. She then summoned the rope she made and had it wrap around the Spirit and pulled him out of the water. As soon as they were out, Elsa could see cracks in the ice as the Spirit tried to escape but Elsa put more magic into her platform and had it spread farther. The horse landed, but it could not disappear into the water anymore. The ice broke off of it and the Spirit stumbled.

It could not function out of the water. Elsa realized this and charged. The Spirit was weakened so she jumped onto its back, creating a bridle and saddle for her. She then kept freezing the Spirit as it desperately tried to turn back to water and escape her. Soon she had control over it and the Spirit ran forward over her ice path. Finally giving up on fighting her.

Elsa sighed with relief and patted the Spirit on the side.

"Ah-ah-ah-ah."

Elsa gasped as she looked up. There in front of her a glacier shone in the distance.

"Ahtohallan." Elsa whispered in excitement and anticipation. "I made it."

"Ah-ah-ah-ahh, ah-ah."

The voice still sounded like it did days ago. Someone desperately reaching out to her.

"I can hear you, and I am coming." Elsa said as tears started to form in her eyes. She knew that loneliness, of wanting to belong somewhere, with someone.

They reached the shore of Ahtohallan and as Elsa jumped off, the Spirit disappeared. Elsa turned to Ahtohallan, she pulled at her braid and felt her hair come lose.

She had waited for this moment for years. Now she was finally here. It didn't even matter if Ahtohalla was dead or not, she was finally fulfilling her destiny.

If Ahtohalla was alive. Then Elsa would help heal her and together they would restore the forest.

And if Ahtohalla was dead. Elsa would take her place as guardian.

She had been born with magic, she belonged with magic. She would miss Arendelle, but they would never truly except her.

Elsa found an entrance and walked into the glacier.

"I am here." Elsa almost whispered. Her heart filled with excitement. She looked around and called out.

"Ah-ah-ah-ah."

"Ah-ah-ah-ahh, ah-ah."

Elsa turned seeing a light on the wall as it flew deeper into Ahtohallan. Elsa chased after it. She came to a steep slope, but She just slid down it and when it opened up into a chasm, she simply created platforms for herself and jumped across. Fallen icecaps blocked her path, but with a wave of her hand they separated. Elsa found herself in a hallway. Pillars laid on the ground but as she moved forward and cast her magic, they straightened out. And at the end.

A doorway.

It was triangular and was iced over in a purplish glow. Elsa lifted her hands and the ice shattered. She walked in. Searching for Ahtohalla. But it was just a dark room with no light.

Suddenly an image of the water Spirit appeared and circled her, it then moved forward and became a giant rune stone that floated in the air. Then the wind Spirit and fire Spirit followed. Finally, the earth Spirit passed her and joined the others as the four rune stones stood before Elsa.

The ruin stones floated down and imbedded themselves into the ground, a small four-point white star forming in the middle. Elsa stepped on the star, it spread out and she felt her magic soar out of her and into the ice.

Ahtohallan awoke.

Images appeared all around her of her family, her friends, her people.

"Ah-ah-ah-ah!"

Elsa turned to the sound of the voice. There she saw the memory of Ahtohalla saving her parents. As her snow lifted them up into the sky Ahtohalla faded away and her magic swirled around Iduna and Agnarr. Elsa felt tears prick her eyes at what this meant.

"Come my darling homeward bound."

Elsa turned with the image of Ahtohalla smiling down at her. Elsa covered her mouth as she cried. All this time she was trying to find where she belonged, hoping that Ahtohalla would help her.

"You are the one you have been waiting for all of this time."

But the truth was that Ahtohalla was gone. She now lived inside Elsa. Elsa cried out in joy.

Behind her the kingdom of Arendelle stood proud but Elsa ignored it.

She raised her hands and took control of Ahtohallan and swirled its powers around her. When the fog cleared Elsa was surrounded by ice statues that moved.

Elsa recognized the memory of Anna and her creating Olaf. She even laughed at the Duke of Weseltown's chicken dance. A young Agnarr and Iduna caught her eye and she happily watched them.

"But they have given us no reason to distrust them?" A man said and Elsa saw that he was talking to her grandfather. Elsa moved closer to them.

"The Northuldran follow magic, so we can never trust them." Her grandfather said, but there was a strange look in his eyes, a sadness, but then his face hardened. "Magic makes people feel too powerful, to entitled. It makes them feel like they can defy the will of a king."

"That is not what magic does." Elsa said in disgust. "That is just your fear, fear is what can't be trusted." She could not believe that her grandfather was like this. Her people believed and trusted him, but he lied and deceived them. He was a monster that was just running away.

The two ice statues moved away from her and interred into a wall. Elsa waved her hand and a path leading down greeted her. She could no longer see her grandfather, but his voice rang around her.

"The Spirits are connected to the forest. With the dam the forest will weaken and that is when we will attack."

Elsa watched as she saw the images of the Northuldran walking towards the forest. She wanted to yell out, to tell them that it was nothing more than a trap, but she knew it was pointless. She ran forward but stopped when she came to a ledge. Elsa looked down and the images started to fade away. If she wanted to know everything then she would have to jump.

"Dive down deep into her sound, but not too far or you'll be drowned."

Ahtohalla's voice surrounded her. Elsa remembered what Yelena had told her.

It is simply a warning, for only Ahtohalla herself can inter into her heart, only she can face what the river knows.

"I am Ahtohalla." Elsa whispered and steeled herself.

She jumped.

Elsa felt her feet touch the ground and she stood up. She looked around but only darkness greeted her. Where was her grandfather? Why wasn't Ahtohallan showing her what he had done? A small light caught her eye and Elsa walked over to it. It was the crystal rune stone for water. Next to it the rune stone for air appeared followed by earth and fire. Suddenly they started to multiply, filling up the black void with their light and surrounding Elsa.

Elsa was confused. Why was Ahtohallan doing this? Gently, Elsa raised her hand and touched a rune, just like when she had first awakened the Spirits.

The rune shuddered as if it was appalled by her touch. All of the runes then froze in the air, but then suddenly started to swirl around her. The runes hit and jabbed at her. Elsa swatted her hands about in an attempt to get them away. She felt them pushing her and as she took a step back, she tripped over and fell.

Elsa landed in a pile of snow and looked up. She was outside of Ahtohallan.

"No!" Elsa yelled as she got to her feet and ran to the glaciers side. She searched for a way in but only ice met her. Elsa raised her hand and waved it, willing Ahtohallan to open up. Nothing happened. She tried again, and again, each time more desperate. Elsa then looked at her hands and tried to summon her magic. Not even a snowflake would swirl around her fingers.

"no." Elsa whispered in shock. She then ran up to the wall and started pounding on it. "No! You have to show me! You have to! I am Ahtohalla! You don't know what I have been through to get here! You don't know! You don't know! What I have done..." An image of Anna appeared in her mind. Anna pleading for her to trust her and not leave her behind like their parents.

Everything was supposed to work itself out when she got to Ahtohallan. She would learn the truth of who she really was and know what she was meant to do. But now all she could think about was all that she had done. She remembered what she had thought of her grandfather.

A liar. "Promise me we will do this together." "I promise."

A deceiver. "Elsa what are you doing? No!" Her magic carried Anna away in the boat.

Just running away.

"Oh Anna." Elsa cried as she fell to her knees and wept.

Kristoff was helping gather wood and was happily talking with Ryder, with Olaf close behind.

"Sven and I have been best buds for years. I can't even remember how we met." Kristoff said and Ryder nodded enthusiastically.

"I don't exactly have a reindeer of my own, but I swear all of them are like family!" Ryder was happy, he finally had someone his age that loved reindeer just as much as he did. Kristoff felt the same way.

"Well, it is amazing on how crazy a family can become." Kristoff said thinking about the trolls and Anna and Elsa.

"Isn't that right Olaf?" Kristoff asked but he didn't hear a reply.

"Olaf?" He and Ryder turned around.

They dropped the logs.

Author's notes:

I don't actually understand "Show Yourself". This is really just a me problem, but I just can't grasp what it is trying to say. According to what I have heard everyone else say. It is about Elsa discovering that she is all she needs and that she is the fifth spirit, and that it is about her finding who she truly is and being told to live her true self.

My problems are that it doesn't really say she is the fifth spirit. Yeah, she gets a pretty dress, but really that is it. The only reason I knew this one, was because it was so obvious the fifth spirit was going to be Elsa and she just tells us at the end. And we all know how I think that was the stupidest idea, do to her having ice powers and not doing anything to deserve it.

Then there is her discovering her true self and living as her true self. Okay, the first part is simple, but we don't know what the fifth spirit does and that drags Elsa down, because it makes her look like she abandoned Arendelle simply because she was told she was special.

Then there is the part where the memory of her mother tells her that she is the one she has been waiting for all this time. Cementing that Elsa does not need to be with others like herself and that she can rise all on her own. But it is completely pointless because Elsa at the end choses to live with the other spirits. She says she changed, so her being all that she needs feels lost.

Then the lyrics feel like they are repeating the same thing over and over, just using different words. Elsa calling out for someone and saying she is ready.

Apparently, the version we get in the move is actually the cut downed version. The song was actually eight minutes long or something. I wonder if it would have made more sense with the longer version, but do to this one already feeling repetitive, I highly doubt it.

Very pretty though.

I also do not feel like Show Yourself put Elsa in a nice light. It feels wrong that she is all happy and being told that she is a gift through the memory of her mother, right after she just betrayed Anna. Her finding out that king Runeard was evil was also an accident, when it really should have been her first priority instead of asking where her powers came from.

Maybe if Elsa was told what her grandfather did and she fixed his mistake first, and then found out the voice was her mother and that she was the fifth spirit I would have been more happy for Elsa.
